Welcome to Australia, Charlie Brown!

Episode 8: Plan of Action

CHAPTER 1: HEALING

Marcie was sitting in the living room reading a book. Franklin had went out with Charlie Brown, Linus, Andrew, Skylar, and Zac to play some sports, while Frieda, Eudora, Claudia, Jadan, and Claire Montana did some shopping. Joey was doing his own thing, as usual. Peppermint Patty also stayed behind, as she wanted to clear the air with Marcie after their big blowup over Franco and how she compared her situation with Hans moving away. She had promised to talk to Franco when he called next time, but wanted to make amends with Marcie first., provided she wouldn't avoid her completely. She cautiously walked in where Marcie was. She cleared her throat and Marcie looked up from her book.

"Before you take off and avoid me, at least hear me out," Patty began. Marcie looked at her and slightly nodded, but didn't say anything.

"First and foremost, I wanted to apologize for what I said about how my situation with Franco was similar to what happened with Hans. It was wrong of me to say that and wasn't fair to you."

"Yeah, it wasn't," Marcie finally said.

"And I'm sorry for how I treated Franco after the fight. It was wrong of me to flirt back with Zac and lead him on like that. It was like I went out of control and didn't care anymore. But I ended up hurting Franco, alienating my friends, and making a mess of things." Marcie was quiet, but was listening.

"And I will at least clear the air with Franco and see where we will go from there." Marcie still didn't say anything. Patty felt the tears form in her eyes. She wasn't winning with Marcie, she thought to herself. "Well it's obvious you hate my guts now, Marcie. So you won't have to deal with dumb ol' Peppermint Patty anymore. I think I will take a page out of Franco's playbook, because I'm returning to Sparkyville, too! You can go your way and I'll go mine. If you'll excuse me, I need to book an early flight."

"Wait a minute, sir!" Marcie chimed in. "Please. You don't have to leave. I don't hate you at all."

"THEN WHY THE SILENT TREATMENT?!" Patty bawled.

"I'm sorry, sir. I guess I've been a bit petty, myself. I'm sorry for my outburst, as well. I was just upset with your seemingly insensitive reactions towards how Franco was feeling. And I'm glad that you're taking responsibility for your actions."

"And I promise I will talk to Franco when the chance arises. But what about Zac? How do I tell him that we need to slow down?"

"Just be honest with him, sir. If how Andrew describes him is correct, he will understand."

"So, are we okay, Marcie?"

"We're good, sir." And both of the best friends hugged each other. At that moment, Charlie Brown, Frieda, Jadan, Claudia, Skylar, Franklin, Linus, Eudora, and Claire Montana all came in.

"I take it you two made up?" said Frieda.

"We did," Patty responded. "And I want to say that I'm sorry for how I've been acting as of late. I was awful to all of you, as well."

"No apologies needed, Patty," assured Jadan. "We're jus' glad you two made up."

"Where's Zac at, though?" asked Patty. "I need to talk to him."

"He and Andrew went back to their homes," Franklin replied. "They left from the arcade."

"You'll have plenty of time to talk to him tomorrow," said Charlie Brown. "He's supposed to come over to help out with the planning of rescuing the kangaroos from the poachers." And everyone hung out for a bit. Patty and Marcie were glad they were able to patch things up. But now Patty had other things on her mind, besides what she was going to say to Franco, but how to let Zac know that they need to back off each other, at least for a bit.
