Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or Steven Universe. The story is not following the Steven Universe storyline so that some things may be different from the show but I would try to keep a good majority of it the same. Also, Steven and Connie are best friends nothing more.

Chapter Three: Morning
Steven watched Kagome curiously from his spot on the island. Lion was sitting next to Kagome while Kilala sat behind him playing with Raiden's tails and Raiden was lazily laying down beside him. He didn't know what she was making, but it smelled delicious.
Kagome was currently in the kitchen making her and Steven a traditional Japanese breakfast.
She and Steven had to go to the grocery store a while before she started cooking to get most of the ingredients. Luckily for them, it's open twenty-four seven.
"Okay, I'm finally done~," Kagome said in a sing-song voice before putting all of the food down on the island before arranging it.
"I made steamed rice, miso soup, a protein such as grilled fish, and tsukemono which is Japanese pickles. Nori which is dried seasoned seaweed. Natto which is fermented soybeans. Kobachi which is a small side dish that usually consists of vegetables, and a green salad," Kagome explained as she pointed what at each food was.
Kagome smiled and looked at Steven to see that he was looking at the food with stars in his eyes.
"It looks delicious!" Steven grinned at her.
"Thank you," Kagome said with a smile as she sat down. She grabbed her chopsticks before breaking them apart.
She watched as Steven did the same. "Itadakimasu," Kagome mumbled out of habit.
"How about we get to know each other a little bit more?" Steven suggested.
"Sure, do you wanna go first or should I?" Kagome asked him.
"I can go first, ask any question you want and then when you're done I'll ask questions of my own." Steven smiled.
Kagome nodded. "Okay, what is a gem? It sounds familiar, but I can't put my finger on where I've heard it before."
"Gems are an extraterrestrial species of magical beings. I think 5,750 years or so ago, the Gem Homeworld maintained several outposts on Earth, with plans to ultimately colonize the planet, but were driven off by my mom Rose Quartz's rebellion, leaving the Crystal Gems and a lot of Corrupted Gems the only Gems on the Earth. Well, now there's me too." Steven explained.
"Rose Quartz? I knew a Rose Quartz 20 years ago back in Japan, but I don't know if we're talking about the same person." Kagome said.
Steven pointed at the picture of Rose above the front door. "That's what she looked like."
Kagome looked at the picture before smiling softly. "Yeah, we're talking about the same person." She said before looking at him. "Your turn to ask questions," Kagome said.
"How is it possible that you met my mom? You would have to be older than me." Steven said thinking they were the same age.
"Physically I'm 20 years old, but I'm really 520 years old," Kagome said.
Steven's eyes widened. "Woah, when were you born?"
"December 15, 1997," Kagome said.
"1997? How is that possible?" Steven asked her curiously.
"It all started on my 15th birthday, I was leaving for school when my younger brother Souta told me my cat Buyo was missing. He turned out to be in our shed, in the shed contains the Bone-Eater's Well. After finding him, I was pulled into the well by Mistress Centipede. There's more to the story, but maybe I can tell you that later?" Kagome suggested.
"Okay, can you tell me about the time you met my mom?" Steven asked her.
"Sure," Kagome said.
~ Flashback, In Tokyo Japan ~
Kagome and Sesshomaru stared at the large pink haired woman standing in front of them. She had just defeated what they had assumed was a demon, but instead of a carcass, a gem was left behind.
"What was that? It couldn't have been an ordinary demon." Kagome asked her.
"Demon? What are demons?" Rose asked her.
"You don't know what you just killed? You took it down so easy I assumed you knew what it was." Kagome said.
"That wasn't a demon though, it was a gem," Rose told her.
"Gem?" Sesshomaru rose his eyebrow having never heard of Gems.
There was a loud roar of thunder and a flash of lightning above them.
"It seems it's going to rain, how about we go back to our home, and you can explain what Gems are, and we can explain what demons are," Kagome suggested with a smile.
"That sounds wonderful." Rose smiled back.
~ End Flashback ~
"And that's how I met Rose," Kagome said.
"Can you tell me more about Kilala and Raiden?" Steven said asked they continued to eat breakfast.
"Sure, Kagome and Raiden are nekomata. Nekomata's re a kind of cat yōkai told about in folklore as well as classical Kaidan, essays, etc. There are two very different types: the ones that live in the mountains, and the ones raised domestically that grow old and transform." Kagome explained before taking a bite of her food.
"While Kilala is a fire Nekomata, Raiden is a lightening nekomata."
Steven nodded and ate his food as he listened to Kagome talk. "Are Nekomatas different than the type of demon you are? What type of demon are you?" Steven asked her curiously.
"I'm a daiyōkai. Daiyōkai means great demon in English, we are a very powerful type of yōkai that are much stronger and smarter than common yōkai. Most daiyōkai have long lifespans, possibly even longer than those of normal yōkai. The really powerful ones tend to remain calm in battle even if the situation is dire or if their life is threatened. Daiyōkai varies in shape and size, just like normal yōkai do. Some have or are able to transform into, human-like forms, such as me, my adopted father Tōga and adopted brother Sesshōmaru. We are also able to transform into our true forms which for me is a cat demon the size of a skyscraper. There are others that are very large in size and don't at all resemble humans." Kagome explained.
"Ooooh, what kind of powers do you have?" Steven asked.
"After I turned it a cat demon I gained new powers and kept my old ones too. Now, compared to humans I'm stronger, faster, and can hear and see farther. I can also land on my feet like a cat. I also have control over poison, so I'm immune to poison now. Before I couldn't do those things but I could purify, summon shinigami, and create barriers."
"Purify?"
"Yeah, when I was human I was a Miko. A Miko is a shrine maiden, I can purify evil, ghosts, demons, and anything of that nature."
"So could you purify, oh I don't know ... corruption?" Steven asked her hopefully.
Kagome thought about it before nodding. "If it's tainted then I can purify it. Why do you have something you want me to purify?" Kagome asked him.
Steven nodded.
"Do you want me to do it now or later after we finish breakfast?" Kagome asked him noticing they were almost finished.
Steven thought about it before answering her. "Can- can we do it now?" He asked.
"Sure that's no problem at all," Kagome said before standing up with him. "Lead the way."
Lion stood up and yawned as Raiden and Kilala stood up too. Raiden stretched before all three of them followed Kagome and Steven.
On the way there Steven explained to Kagome where they were going and what happened with Jasper.
"Well, here she is," Steven said as he handed Kagome Jasper's gem.
Kagome concentrated and purified Jasper's corruption.
Steven watched wide-eyed and amazed. "You-you did it!" Steven hugged her tight. "Thank you! Thank you so much!"
Kagome smiled softly and hugged him back. "You don't have to thank me," Kagome said, she watched as Jasper's gem floated into the air before glowing and taking the shape of Jasper.
Steven looked back when he heard Jasper groan. "How do you feel Jasper?" Steven asked as he calmly walked over to her.
Jasper looked at Steven before glaring at him. "You!" She snarled before she charged at him.
Steven quickly summoned his shield and stopped her. "
Kagome walked over and spread out her aura to calm Jasper down.
Jasper looked at her. "Who are you?"
"This is Kagome, she's the one who helped you," Steven said.
"It's nice to meet you." Kagome smiled softly at her.
"Steven!"
"That was Amethyst, okay I'm gonna go and explain everything to them. You two stay down here and get to know each other!" Steven said before he ran to where the gems are.
Jasper looked at Kagome before looking her up and down. "How did you help me?" Jasper asked her.
"I purified your corruption," Kagome told her before getting a phone call from the construction workers stating that her house would be ready by the end of the week.
'Beautiful and from what I can tell she must be strong. She was able to not only calm me down without even touching me, but she was able to purify the corruption away. Who's to say what else she can do. With her, by my side as my queen, there's no stopping me!' Jasper thought as she hid her smirk. She didb\n't want her future queen to be onto her plans just yet.
"I guess you're going to be staying with me?" Kagome asked her.
"For you to give me a second chance and now a home. I will follow you're every command milady." Jasper got on one knee and bowed to her.
"You don't have to do that." Kagome blushed as she looked at her.
'Adorable.' Jasper thought as she looked at her. "I do."
Kagome sighed. "Well, I guess I should tell you some things about me," Kagome said.
