"so tell me why this is a good idea again" said Luis with concern "we're not even sure you can control a staff"

"Well , what other choice do we have?" Said Luz "and besides we wouldn't need a staff if you had any method of transportation"

"Do I look like I'm made of space to you?" Said Luis frowning "I can't fit stuff that big on me"

"But you can fit weapons in a little ball?" said Luz skeptically

"That little ball has limits" said Luis frowning "and I don't have a driver's license"

Luz and Luis were now entering the owl house , looking for Eda's staff

"King are you home?" Yelled Luz "I'll go check upstairs"

Then Luz left Luis and went upstairs looking for King

"Why aren't you at the game?" Asked Tess with the biggest frown possible

"There has been some complications , and now we need something to get us there" said Luis expressionlessly "you're still not coming with us"

Tess grumbled angrily

"I'm going upstairs" said Tess tiredly "maybe King has something fun to do"

"I doubt it" said Luis frowning

"Better than nothing" said Tess as she started going upstairs (again don't ask how something without legs can climb us stairs)

Tess passed Luz as she was going down and saw King with Eda

Owl beast Eda , she also noticed Eda's eyes

"I'm feeling confident about this plan" said King

"And I'm feeling confident this is gonna go badly" said Tess frowning

"Aaah! Uh Tess! I know nothing! What's an Eda?" Said King nervously before giving up to Tess's glare "ok fine! I'm gonna use Eda to get revenge on the Usurper"

"Something bad is bound to happen" said Tess with concern

"Don't worry" said King smiling

"Way too late for that" said Tess still looking at in disbelief

"If something goes wrong I can just give her a bottle of the elixir" said King confidently "it's a fool proof plan , and you'll go along with it because otherwise you have nothing to do"

"I guess I'll be babysitting a baby babysitting a babysitter for the day" said Tess with a serious face "I said baby way too much"

"Glandis high!" Said Luz excitedly as she accidentally smacked Owlbert on the wall "oh! sorry Owlbert"

"Be careful , he's not a toy" said Luis frowning

"It's okay , we're just on our way to help some friends" Luz told Owlbert as Gus, Gemma and Willow marvelled at the sight of Owlbert

"That sounds like something you'd say before kidnapping someone" said Luis narrowing his eyes

"We're not kidnapping him , now who's ready to ride on air Luz!" Said Luz excitedly

They were all huddled up on the staff , Gemma blushed like a tomato but no one saw anything

As everyone was on the staff , Luis began showing some concern

"Are you sure it can handle us a_" said Luis in concern but they were already flying "okay , I guess it's_"

"Step on it Owlbert" said Luz before the staff started flying uncontrollably

They flew around bumping into a lot of trees

Until they hit one last tree

They all fell off the staff and the staff fell on the ground head first causing a crack to appear on Owlbert's head

Luz saw this and gasped , and Owlbert ran away

And naturally the group ran after him

"Man humans can run , must be_" said Gus before Gemma cut him off

"You're just bad at sports" said Gemma bluntly

Hearing this Gus frowned sadly

"He went through those trees let's go" said Luz anxiously

"Wait Luz!" Said Willow as she stopped Luz from running off "it's really easy to get lost in this part of the forest"

"This is Eda's palisman Willow , she's gonna kill me if I don't get it back" said Luz anxiously "let's go!"

Then they went into the forest

Inside every step they took caused a crunch

"Wow! I keep stepping on a lot of crunchy twigs" said Willow nervously

"Those are bones Willow" said Luz

"Not if I never look down" said Willow with enthusiasm?

"Let's get going before we also become crunchy twigs" said Gemma in fear

"I'm one hundred percent on board with that" said Luis nervously

""""Aaah!!!"""" Yelled everyone as a shadow sped past them

"This isn't like any forest I'm used to" said Luz as she checked some webs near her

"Luz...I don't think this is a forest" said Luis gulping

Then the babies of the bat queen appeared

"It's a nest" said Willow in fear

"Oh I remember you , you're bat Queen's babies" said Luz

"Oh yeah...her" said Luis

Unlike the twins who weren't afraid (that afraid) of the bat queen

Their friends were terrified

"You mean THE bat queen" said Gus in fear

"I think I'd rather take my chances with Eda" said Willow in fear

"The self proclaimed strongest witch on the boiling isles or THE bat queen" said Gemma in fear "we're doomed either way"

"We're looking for a little owl" Luz asked the babies

Then she saw Owlbert and as she was telling him to come back

The bat queen appeared

"Hello small humans" said the bat queen

"This was outcome to this situation that everyone was expecting" said Tess looking at King and what he did

Chaos ensued at the playground

And King ruled with an iron fist

Until Eda started chewing on the sli_ throne , chewing on King's throne

"Hiya BQ! My your hair is greasy and your kids , they're as hideous as ever" said Luz complimenting? The bat queen "so Owlbert ran away and I need to get him back , so Amma just grab him and we'll be on our way"

"To be careless with a staff , it's very serious" said the bat queen stopping Luz "I protect him"

"And thank you for that" said Luz smiling nervously "but he belongs to Eda the Owl lady and you owe her a favor remember?"

"The owl lady is careless! Her staff left her sight! Taken by a human who steals , hurts , frightens!" Said the bat queen which made Luz's eyes widen "he told me all!"

The bat queen's eyes glowed yellow as she said this , the same with Owlbert

"Owlbert" said Luis with concern "we're sor_"

Then as Luis approached Owlbert and the bat queen

Suddenly the bat Queen's eyes began glowing bright red , Owlbert's didn't

Everyone backed off in fear

Then the queen's eyes went back to normal

"Human" said the bat queen as she faced Luis

Seeing this Luis gulped , he didn't know if his powers did anything or

"He , is calling for you" said the bat queen as she pointed behind her "go straight , then you'll find him"

This surprised everyone

"Who's he?" Asked Luis still a bit freaked out

"Petram" said the bat queen

Now Luis was heading to where the bat queen told him

Luis didn't want to leave his sister but even Luz encouraged him to go

Gemma went with him to make sure he's fine

And on the way he explained some of the weird things that happened to him , things about the powers he had , and that it was probably related to it because "things flash red with it"

Gemma accepted it pretty quickly

Then they reached a cave , they walked in

"So what does that Petram guy want from you anyway?" Asked Gemma as she looked around cautiously

"I have no id_" said Luis

"You're here" said a voice

Hearing the voice ,Luis and Gemma look at it's source

They couldn't see anything

"Oh sorry , I forgot I had the light off" said The voice

Then a portion of the cave lit up , and the two went in

They found themselves in a large room

It was mostly empty with there only being some rocks here and there , but in the middle was

"That's one big staff" said Gemma with her mouth wide open

There was a staff , so big it's palisman was twice the size of the bat queen

And once Luis saw the palisman he instantly realized what it was , it was a gargoyle , it's bat like wings were covering it's entire body nothing under them could be seen (the wings are on the back , they're not the arms) , the entire staff including the palisman was dark grey

"If you're wondering , yes , I am the palisman" said the Petram "and yes , I am Petram"

"O...k?" Said Luis cautiously "so why did you call me here?"

"Straight to the point huh?" said Petram calmly "I brought you here to test you"

"Test me?" Asked Luis raising a brow

"Yes" said Petram "do you accept?"

Luis was weirded out , why was he testing him

"And what will he get from your test?" Asked Gemma narrowing her eyes

"Well , if succeeds I'll become his staff" said Petram "so naturally , I have to test him"

"That...makes sense" said Gemma "but you're so_"

"I can shrink" said Petram bluntly "for a long time I've been waiting for someone who will be my next wielder , so do you accept?"

Luis thought about it for a second , staffs helped witches cast magic ,so maybe having Petram could help him control his abilities

"I accept" said Luis with determination

Then the passageway behind them was closed off as if it was never there

"Let's begin" said Petram

Then a stone ball appeared , a broken one , a large chunk of it was laying next to it

"Fix this ball" said Petram

Luis raised a brow

"O...k?" He said before he brought out some self made glue

He put the two pieces together and the ball was fixed

"What?" Asked Petram as he knew the ball was fixed

Just not in the way he intended

Petram realized his mistake and moved to another test

A giant stone bowl appeared

"Put the ball in the bowl , without using that thing you used to fix the ball" said Petram

And Luis did it , he simply built a bridge of stones he stuck together in many different ways

And again Petram was annoyed

This wasn't how it's was intended

Then test after test , Luis used his creations or his wit to solve the tests

Petram however was extremely annoyed

That wasn't the way he intended for these tests to be solved

So he finally reached peak anger

"For your final test" said Petram menacingly "you'll have to fight me"

Then the palisman showed it's true form , it was a monkey with bat wings on it's back , horns on the back of it's head ,and a tail (nothing to say here)

Luis wasn't too afraid , he thought he could manage

But Petram had it!

"Without this" said Petram as grabbed Luis's space ball (the ball where he keeps the inventions) from Luis's pockets

Then he crushed it like glass , and dropped it , he turned it into an unfixable mess

Then Petram shrunk into a size that was bigger than Luis but was smaller than the bat queen

Gemma tried to stop Petram but she was suddenly imprisoned in a cage which only had some holes for breathing , no potions worked on the cage

Petram attacked Luis , Luis dodged

Luis was scared , this was the first time he was ever separated from his weapons

It went on like this for a while

Luis couldn't fight , he didn't have a way to

Then Petram finally caught him and pinned him to the ground

"Coward!" said Petram angrily "why aren't you even trying to use your powers?!"

"Because I don't know how!" Said Luis and Petram stopped "no one taught me anything , I'm supposed to be the smart one , the one who's supposed to be able to fix any problem easily

But I can't! I need someone to help me too! I thought that if I were to pass your dumb test I'd finally stop being afraid of myself , I never asked for this stupid power! I don't care if you even take it away , I'll be glad to finally get rid of it!"

Tears began falling on Luis's face

Petram stopped pinning Luis

"Fine" said Petram sternly "I'll teach you how to use it"

"Wha_" said Luis in confusion tears still in his face

"But once I do , you'll have to prove yourself to me" said Petram "then I'll be your palisman...deal?"

Petram extended his hand

Luis looked at for a second before shaking it

Then Gemma was freed by Petram

Gemma immediately rushed to Luis

"OhmytitanareyouokayLuisareyouhurtareyo_" said Gemma as she tightly hugged Luis

"I'm okay , I'm okay" said Luis as he smiled

Then Gemma realized what she was doing and let Luis go as she blushed like a tomato

"Sorry" said Gemma as she hid her face which was madly blushing

"It's okay" said Luis as he blushed "it felt nice"

"Sorry to interrupt your romantic moment but there's still work to do" said Petram rolling his eyes "we still have to make my new form"

"New form?" Asked Luis

"Yep I'll enter your memory and choose a good form and you'll help a bit...maybe" said Petram before his eyes glowed red not letting Luis reply

Then Petram began looking for a new form , new owner meant he could get a new form

"Aaah Dragons , they look great" said Petram as inspected Luis's memory on dragons "oh majestic , noble , great , totally fits me , I'll choose_"

"Can you try wyvern?" Asked Luis "I kinda want you look a bit like Owlbert on his staff , I mean in the wing department"

"Hmm I see... it's decided then" said Petram satisfied "Wyvern it is, even though it's less majestic"

Then Petram and his staff shrunk to Eda's staff size

Petram became a wyvern , the interlock was on it's foot and his wings wrapped around his body only showing the head

As Luis held hi_ later to be his staff , he felt his connection with Petram

"Let's get out of here shall we" said Petram as the passageway opened up again

And as they were walking back Luis was thinking about that hug

It felt nice , not nice like sibling hug or his mom's hugs

It was a different kind of nice , it wasn't bad ,

He thought of this while staring at Gemma

He wanted to do it again , and maybe even_

He stopped his thoughts as he started blushing

He drove off his thoughts for now

And headed home

He had another explaining session to do
