Chapter 2

Just Ask Her Out

There are few things in the world that are a very viable outcome but have a low possibility to actually happen. A common person casually committing murder, the chances of getting struck by lightning, getting hit by a car while standing on the sidewalk, and being eaten by a shark. They all can happen without the need for an exaggerated circumstance, but they just don't. Either from human conscious morality and how that affects our decision making, how unoften the requirements for all the conditions to be aligned may be, and downright luck.

Among those was Katsuki admitting he has no idea what to do in a situation.

Which is rarely occurring right now as he has no idea how to ask out Setsuna!

While he was rage stomping, aggravated at having to complete his penalty for losing the bet with Sero, he forgot to form a game plan. At first he thought he could simply approach and strike her with the question, but now that he was in close proximity to her, his attitude was slowly pushed out.

He suddenly found it weird to just ask out of nowhere.

With his most reliable option gone, his mind instinctively dove into his memories to retrieve an alternative he was taught years ago.

"Sit down son, we need to have a talk," Masaru Bakugo told his young son, patting the spot next to him on the couch.

After reluctantly complying, Katsuki replied, "Why? What is it now!?"

Sternly putting his hands together, Masaru said, "There's going to be a time where you'll start having an interest in talking to girls. You may find it gross right now but it'll eventually happen and you must be ready for it. As your father, it is my duty to teach you the Art of Seduction."

"Ew gross," exclaimed the young Katsuki, he kicked his kick to scoot away from his parent, "As if I'll ever need that! For what? Becoming an old bag of bones whipped by a fucking old hag, like you guys?"

Masaru dived for Katsuki, ducking them both to the group as a projectile zoomed through the living room. The air in the room was swept up into a gust from the speed, causing the man's hair to flutter like dangling leaves. After a large crash was heard, the wind settled down again, and the guys could raise their heads. Lodged into the wall was a single slipper, colored a red as fierce as the blood that runs through Katsuki while engraved with fashionable designs. It took both of them a moment to realize this was one of Mitsuki's slippers.

Seems like she didn't enjoy the description given to her.

Casually picking up right where they left off, Masaru continued, "Be that as it may-"

The father had to duck again, avoiding the remaining pair of his wife's slippers before continuing. Seems like his wife wanted him to give a more defensive response for her than he did.

"-It'll be for the best to remember these skills so you have them stored in case you might ever need them."

'I can't believe I'm desperate enough to resort to this!' sighed Katsuki, one too many times today did he bite down on his pride and he was past his limit. Considering how his limit was zero to begin with, he was exhausted, 'Alright old man, what shitty moves did you have?'

The inexperienced young man submitted himself to his father's teachings.

'Step one, when you see a girl you want to talk to, just do the shoulder touch technique. Walk up to her, gently put your hand on her shoulder, and say, Hey~!'

'That's it!? Useless mother fucker, you better not fail me,' Katsuki thought began sparking into an action.

All he had to do was aim for her shoulder.

BOOM!

And he ended up hitting the wall instead, slamming his hand against it actually, making this already messy situation worse!

'GOD DAMN IT I MISSED! THIS WASN'T PART OF THE PLAN, THIS WASN'T PART OF THE PLAN!' panicked Katsuki, he just remembered being gentle was a near impossibility for him. His ace in the hole was a failure before it was ever revealed, this is why Katsuki never respected his father.

The awkwardness was piling enough to make even Katsuki's spine start to feel weighed down, Setsuna's wide-eyed reaction to Katsuki's failure of the shoulder touch made the blond feel like a silly fool. What's worse was that the greenette lacked knowledge of his intent for approaching in the first place, as far as the explosive teen knew, she has an extremely different perspective of this event that made him seem more devilish than intended.

Being too deep at this point, Katsuki committed to the plan. Reenacting the way his father did it all those years ago, Katsuki said, "Hey~"

"Uhh… hi," responded Setsuna, still shimmering in confusion and unsettled juice from the blond's rocky approach. Her eyes wandered around to scan the area, just in case she might need to make a break for it. The guy who just approached her was the same student who needed to be restrained during the sports festival and was later captured by villains because they basically thought he'll make a great addition to the club. Not to mention she has been hearing murmurs all around the hero course students about his aggression, specifically toward only Izuku Midoriya. She's not someone who just blindly trusts rumors and will treat people differently because of them but when the guy with a reputation of possibly attempting murder via blowing them up approaches her while she was alone, a bit of caution isn't the most far-fetch thing to have.

Still staring intensely, Katsuki realized he had to keep up this rhythm, thinking to himself, 'That was one of the most painful things I had to do, at least it's over. What was the next thing dad said to do?'

'OH MY FUCKING GOD HE NEVER SAID WHAT TO DO NEXT!'

This is why you should think plans through before acting on them.

That was when Setsuna spoke up, hoping to get the conversation stream running again, "Can I help you with something?"

"...yes," answered Katsuki, "You want to go out?"

"Like… leave class right now or after school?"

"The latter one of course, I don't think our teachers will allow us to just walk out."

"So you just wanted a date?" questioned Setsuna, by far this was the most bizarre form of flirting she experienced, "You have a funny way of doing it."

Katsuki bit down on his lips from that comment before replying, "Fuck off, just answer so I can continue with my day."

"Uh sure, ok."

"Good, now what is it?"

"I just gave it."

"What?"

"I said ok. As in I'm accepting your offer, let's go out."

Suddenly, out in the distance, a very girlish shriek rang out.

"Jirou what's wrong!? Why did you fall over!?" some of the class 1-a students were heard calling out.

But the two soon-to-be-going-out couple tuned them out as they were focused on each other.

"Why?" asked Katsuki, confused as to why she accepted. Outside of his struggle to ask her the question, he fully expected a rejection, the bet was after all him only having to ask her out.

Looking both ways, Setsuna shrugged before stating, "I don't know. With that... unique approach, you've colored me interested."

"Huh," was all Katsuki said before walking away, not saying another word, even when Setsuna called out to him. The blond just kept on walking, ignoring Sero's laughter and any other distractions as he secluded himself to a far-off corner to make a phone call.

"Hello?" the voice of Masaru came from the phone.

Being his usual self, Katsuki immediately opened up the phone call with, "I hate you so much right now. I hope you die."

There was a bit of silence before Masaru nonchalantly said, "Now Katsuki I'm currently at work, so unless it's something important this can wait till I get home."

"You are the worst flirt advisor ever!"

"...Oh my god, you didn't!"

"Fuck you!"

"You did! HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA! Hey, hey Bill! Guess what my son just did!?"

A blush came across Katsuki's face as he grumbled, "Eat shit and die!?"

Immediately recognizing that tone as the one his son uses before he hangs up the phone, Masaru quickly said, "Wait, wait! What did she say? Did she accept?"

"...yes."

"MY BOY!"

"FUCK YOU, IT WAS INDIRECTLY USEFUL!"

"Still counts! I gotta tell your mom, she called me stupid for teaching you those things."

"You better not!"
