Chapter 6
Texting Is Hard
There wasn't a being on Earth that knew of the prodigy Katsuki Bakugo and would say there was a battle he would hesitate to go into. Until today, where he would face his greatest challenge yet.
Texting a girl.
In his room, Katsuki stared at his phone longingly. His screen has been stuck on the newly acquired contact of Setsuna from class B for nearly twenty minutes and by the looks of it, nothing was going to change that anytime soon. There was a mountain that was gatekeeping him from taking any actions.
'How the fuck do I text her first!?'
That was a question he never thought he'd have in his life, yet here he was.
"You know what, fuck this!" he shouted to himself, gripping his phone hardest to almost break it, "I'll send whatever, who cares what she thinks of it!"

10 Minutes Later
"As if I care what she'll think! Fuck her feelings!"
20 Minutes Later
"I won't waste my time overthinking this shit!"
30 Minutes Later
"... Goddamn it!"
40 Minutes Later
"Hey, Baku-bro," Kirishima announced when the blond opened the door to let the red-head into his dorm room, "Glad you invited me over."
"Shut up and help already!" the blond told him, ushering him in.
After a quick run-down of the situation, Kirishima thought to himself before suggesting, "Alright bro, I got an idea. It's a bit crazy but trust me, it has never failed me before."
"Let's see it then," Katsuki states, giving his friend the phone.
Excited to help out his classmate, Kirishima quickly accepted the device and executed the greatest conversation starter he could think of in text form. Such a strongly worded message would be his masterpiece!
Katsuki: Hey
…
"HEY!" Katsuki shouted, gripping his soon-to-be-murdered friend by the collar and lifting him, "THAT WAS THE BEST YOU GOT!"
With an innocent shrug, Kirishima replied, "Simplicity is usually the best approach."
"Simplicity my a-"
Bzzt!
The buzzing of his phone stole the blond's attention, attending to it and seeing the message he received back.
Setsuna: Who tis?
'Oh right, I only received her number. She doesn't know my own,' Katsuki thought, quickly setting the record straight.
Katsuki: It's Katsuki Bakugo

Katsuki: From Class A
Setsuna: Oh it's you! What's up!?
"See, told you it'll work," boasted Kirishima with a satisfied smile, looking over Katsuki's shoulder.
Annoyed, the explosive teen pushes Kirishima away from him before looking back at his phone to see another message.
Setsuna: I was wondering when you were going to text me
Katsuki: Why?
Setsuna: Because you didn't come to get my number yourself. Knowing you, it struck me as weird. I thought either you were sick or something,
Setsuna: Or were you just scared to ask?
"You know I was wondering why you didn't as well," the red-head asked.
Snapping back, Katsuki told him, "I was-... Just… busy. That's all, y'all are overthinking it."
"Really? Whew, now I'm really happy I ran into her!"
"That surprisingly saved me a bunch of headaches."
"No worries bro, I always got your back!"
With that done, Katsuki went back to answer the ridiculous claim in text form.
Katsuki: YOU FUCKING WISH!
Setsuna: Jeez, I can hear the screaming.
Katsuki: Shut up
Setsuna: XD
Setsuna: Anyways, this was practically a game for me to guess when you'll text me.
'A game to her!? This bitch!'
Katsuki: What do you mean game!?
Setsuna: You know, messing with you for a bit of entertainment. I realized we never exchanged numbers a while ago but decided against saying it.
Setsuna: Can't lie, I'm impressed by the results. You were almost as alert about it as I expected.
Katsuki: You litrlw
Setsuna: Almost
Katsuki: *little
Setsuna: Never thought I see you misspell words.
Katsuki: SHUT UP!
Katsuki: AND QUIT DICKING AROUND
Setsuna: I'm just having fun.
Katsuki: WHATEVER
Katsuki: ANYWAYS, WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT A DATE

Setsuna: Was that on purpose or did you forget about cap locks?

Setsuna: It was, wasn't it?
Katsuki: Shut up
Setsuna: Knew it.
"She's really grinding my gears," grumbled the blond, grinding his teeth. She wasn't wrong, he was just mad he wasn't right.
Jumping in for some good old moral support, Kirishima says, "Harden your nerves bro, you got this!"
Setsuna: Anyways, wot you wanna talk 'bout?
Cooling himself off with a sigh, Katsuki took another look at Kirishima who in return gave him double thumbs right. Thinking about his message carefully.
Katsuki: Our date, we still need to arrange the where, when, and what?
Setsuna: Alright, what did you pick?
Katsuki: None, that's why I'm talking to you
Setsuna: oh
Katsuki: What?
Setsuna: Nothing
Setsuna: Just surprised you're the novice here
Katsuki: Bitch what?
Setsuna: Let's start on when?
Katsuki: We'll do it on the weekend
Setsuna: That's more like it
Setsuna: and great idea, the best places got their best stuff on the weekends.
"Ugh, finally some progress," groaned Katsuki, this whole date because a bet thing was starting to drag on him.
Katsuki: You got any places in mind
Setsuna: No, I don't rly care where we go
Katsuki: Then how about Fire Forc-entree
Setsuna: Doesn't that place only serve spicy food
Katsuki: Yeah
Setsuna: Pass
Katsuki: WHAT!?
Katsuki: AND YES, THE CAPS WAS ON PURPOSE ON THAT LAST ONE! AND THIS ONE!
Setsuna: I rather not spend the entire date with my mouth being on fire. Come on, you gotta have better options.
Katsuki: Fine, then let's go to Dragon Dishes Z
Setsuna: Don't like that place, that place is basically a bar for teenagers filled with people screaming and fighting each other. That's no place for a date.
Katsuki: Then Tokyo ReCravers
Setsuna: Blah, that place sounds disgusting
Setsuna: LEt's not
Katsuki: Sound?
Katsuki: Have you ever been there before?
…
Setsuna: No
…
…
…
"What the fuck!" Katsuki yelled out loud, furiously texting back
Katsuki: I thought you didn't care where we went!
Setsuna: I don't
Setsuna: You just keep suggesting unappealing places
"That's the same thing as caring, mother f-" in frustration, the blond almost threw his phone out the window but resisted, knowing how counterproductive that'll be. Katsuki then slowly turned his head toward Kirishima.
Immediately catching on, the hardening-quirk user swiftly took off his shirt before hardening his top half. Being prepared, he exclaimed, "Don't worry bro I got you! Give me your best shot!"

"Ahhhhh!"
After throwing Kirishima out the window Katsuki calmed himself to give a response.
Katsuki: Ok, fuck food then if you wanna play twenty questions. Let's just walk around somewhere and if we see somewhere we can eat we'll go there.
Setsuna: Fine by me
Katsuki: Finally
Setsuna: I'll give you a break and choose where we'll go
Setsuna: I know a park not too far away that got some neat nice
Katsuki: Go ahead, just tell me where it is so I know where to go ahead of time.
Setsuna: Sure it's XXXX XXXXXX Street
Katsuki: Got it
After quickly deciding on the time, Katsuki tossed his phone to the side, relieved this part was over. He was ready to never arrange another date in his life, too much annoyance for little achievement.
Knock Knock Knock!
Opening the door, Katsuki met with Kirishima once again.
"I meant to hit me, not toss me out the window!" the redhead exclaimed, dusting off the leaves and twigs that were caught on him.
"...I completely mistook what you were saying," the explosive teen nonchalantly tells him, "But I did manage to finish arranging things."
"...Forreal?"
"Yeah."
…
"My man!" cheered Kirishima, winding back his muscular arms in preparation, "Dab me up?"
"You really need to stop letting Mina teach you internet gestures, it's going to get you in trouble."
"...Dab me up?"
Katsuki sighed before raising his hand with a smile as well, "You son of a bitch."
Two manly hands clashed together to form the ultimate bro shake in celebration of such an achievement.
