Well, that was certainly one hell of a curveball.

TEKKEN's cool as hell though, I just do not know anything about the series.

Metroid Dread was probably the thing I'm most excited for, though the rest of this Direct was good as hell.

Anyways, enjoy!

"DEVIL BLASTER!"

"HADOKEN!"

Once the massive explosion from the two attacks had ceased and the smoke had subsided, Kazuya Mishima stopped shielding his eyes and took in his surroundings. Akuma was nowhere to be found, and the volcanic area where he had murdered his father, Heihachi Mishima, had been completely obliterated. Smirking, Kazuya's left eye briefly flashed red as he thought to himself, "Finally, that old bastard's dead..."

Wiping some ash off of his shoulder, Kazuya was about to walk away until he spotted something floating in the wind that was definitely not a clump of ash. Walking towards it, he saw that it was an envelope and plucked it out of the air. Ripping off the wax seal, he unfurled the letter, revealing a small black-and-red card with both the number 83 and the Devil's Mark etched into it. Going back up to the top of the letter, Kazuya began reading its contents:

To Kazuya Mishima, leader of the G Corporation:

Congratulations! You have been granted entry into the fifth iteration of the Super Smash Brothers tournament!

Given that you are likely a veteran to this kind of thing, allow me to sell you on the premise: should you join, you will be facing a host of warriors from different universes, the likes of which your world has never before seen (well, except for maybe Ryu and Ken...)! Additionally, you will also have the opportunity to win money which can then be converted into your realm's currency, which I assume you desire for the sake of the G Corporation.

As for the rest of your world... it will be temporarily placed into temporal stasis while you are away, given your importance to it.

I hope to see you there, Mishima.

Sincerely,

M.H.

Kazuya tucked the envelope in his pants as a dark portal opened up underneath his feet, teleporting him away to the inside of a large building. Inside its empty foyer, he saw a table with three black buttons, with a note that read, "Press a button to confirm entry." Kazuya pressed one of the buttons, and he was warped to a cliffside overlooking an ocean, a dark portal ominously looming over the end of the cliff. Cricking his neck, Kazuya simply walked into the portal.

When Kazuya opened his eyes, he found himself in front of a castle that was blocked by a mysterious seal and overlooking a massive lava moat. Looking to his right, he saw a mysterious dark-robed man standing at the edge of the moat. Without a moment's hesitation, Kazuya grabbed the man by the throat and delivered a ferocious Stonehead, causing the figure to let out a grunt as Kazuya hoisted him above his head and cast him into the fiery pit. Kazuya looked to the distance, not bothering to check for the distinct sound of a body hitting lava until at least half a minute had passed.

As Kazuya looked down to check, however, he heard the sound of something flapping its wings close by, and as he turned around, he was grabbed by the throat by that same black-clad man from earlier.

Sephiroth lifted Kazuya in a chokehold and chuckled as his single wing unfurled, saying, "And just who are you?" As he began to tighten his grip via dark energy, however, Sephiroth noticed that Kazuya had an all too familiar envelope tucked at the top of his pants, and he set Kazuya down on the ground... only to pin him to it with the Masamune, offhandedly commenting, "Don't worry, your time here won't be long," as he took the envelope from Kazuya's pants and began to read it. Once he had finished reading, Sephiroth removed his sword, grabbed Kazuya by the back of his neck, and said, "You'll be seeing someone very special soon."

"What are you, some kind of enforcer?"

"I wish it were that simple," Sephiroth chuckled as he summoned a dark portal, bringing himself and Kazuya to a barren pocket dimension. Within said pocket dimension, Sephiroth waited for his "superior," as he distastefully referred to him as to float by, emitting a harsh glow as he did so, before turning to the other figure once Galeem was out of sight.

"Ah, Sephiroth! What brings you back here so soon? I thought you were out on reconnaissance," Master Hand quietly said before continuing, "Any updates?"

"I have a reading on that... pale lady..."

"You mean the Wii Fit Trainer?"

"Yes, her. I plan on dealing with that particular snag soon." Tightening his grip on Kazuya's neck, Sephiroth continued, "I have something else for you today," taking Kazuya's letter out from his coat and passing it to Master Hand, the latter having assumed his human disguise.

Reading the contents of the letter, Master Hand let the occasional small noise of acknowledgement as he continued to read it, before tucking the envelope back into Kazuya's pants, saying, "Man, I really need to change the template of these letters the for the next Smash tournament," before turning to Sephiroth and saying, "Good work."

Sephiroth nodded and vanished through a portal.

Kazuya looked at the man who Sephiroth had been talking with, and stoically asked, "I assume that you're M.H. in this letter?" The man nodded as he removed his shades and assumed his true form, that of a gigantic right hand in a white glove.

Master Hand enthusiastically shook Kazuya's hand as he whispered, "Ah yes, Mishima-san! The name's Master Hand, it's a pleasure to finally see you in the flesh! If I may, we have much to discuss in a very short amount of time..."

I didn't have much to go off of for this chapter, but I hope you enjoyed regardless.

Villains gotta stand together, after all.
