Last Time: When Jack entered the Kitchen an hour later after exploring every room and walking in on an unexpected - er - thing, he found Sam half-asleep in Dean's arms and his father staring into Dean's eyes.
…
After Heading to the bedrooms, the boys realized that they had to split rooms. Sam went and joined Eileen, Jack chose a room and found Miracle in it, so he stayed in that room. Crowley and Bobby were doing Jack know's what in their room, so that left Cas and Dean sharing a room. After using the restroom and taking care of their needs, the two boys went to sleep on opposite sides of their King sized bed.
…
At least 6 hours later, Eileen and Sam woke up and made breakfast for their family and friends. Jack, smelling bacon, went and woke up his Father and Dean. Although he had learned from his mistake and did it very gently, from a distance. As soon as they were awake, Jack went and got dog food from the supply closet he had found. Meanwhile, Bobby and Crowley had woken up to the sound of Miracle barking, and were getting ready for another probable depressing day.
…
After eating breakfast, the group went over to the sitting area and watched as the screen pressed play. They were sitting in the same spots as before, but this time Jack had Miracle next to him and he was playing with her fur.
(Dean's funeral pyre is burning.
Dean is standing on a country road, looking out over a beautiful mountain landscape.)
"Oh so now you burn me like you're supposed to! Thanks for burning me buddy, I deserve a proper Hunter burial." Sam just nodded curtly, still a little broken up from what he had seen the night before.
DEAN (smiling)
Well, at least I made it to Heaven.
BOBBY
Yep.
(Dean, startled, looks towards the voice and sees Bobby, sitting on a chair in front of 'Harvelle's Roadhouse'
Bobby? But this isn't a memory, this never happened? "Bobby, this isn't a memory is it?" Bobby just shook his head, a little confused.
DEAN
What memory is this?
BOBBY (laughing)
It ain't, ya idjit.
DEAN
Yeah, it is,
'cause the last I heard, you... you were in Heaven's lock-up.
BOBBY
Was.
Now I'm not.
That kid of yours, before he went... wherever, made some changes here.
"Kid? I don't have a….wait do you mean Jack? How did Jack change Heaven? I mean, I know he's strong, like very strong now, but why would chuck let him change heaven," Dean asked questioningly. "I don't know you Idjit, its the future remember? " Bobby replied shaking his head.
Busted my ass out. And then he...
(Dean sits down next to Bobby)
Well, he set some things right. Tore down all the walls up here.
Heaven ain't just reliving your golden oldies anymore.
It's what it always should have been.
Everyone happy. Everyone together.
Rufus lives about 5 miles that way... With Aretha.
"Hey, at least he's happy." Bobby cracked a small smile thinking of his old friend.
Thought she'd have better taste.
And your mom and dad... they got a place over yonder.
Sam and Dean looked at each other in wonder. Their parents together again, in heaven? Such a thought seemed like a hopeless dream.
It ain't just Heaven, Dean.
It's the Heaven you deserve.
And we've been waiting for you.
(Bobby opens a cooler between their chairs and takes out a couple of beers for him and Dean)
DEAN
So, Jack did all that?
BOBBY
Well... Cass helped.
It's a big, new world out there.
You'll see.
"So me and Jack change heaven?" Cas asked in wonder. Dean glanced over at Jack who was still engrossed with miracle. "Well it's not like he hasn't done impossible things before." Dean answered. Cas nodded, accepting that.
DEAN (takes a sip of beer)
Oh, wow.
This tastes like the first drink I ever shared with my dad.
BOBBY
Quality stuff?
DEAN
No, it's crap.
Dean gagged, remembering his first beer. It truly tasted awful.
But it was fantastic.
BOBBY
Just like this.
DEAN (a little sadly)
It's almost perfect.
BOBBY (looking towards Dean)
He'll be along.
Time up here, it's... it's different.
You got everything you could ever want... or need or... dream.
So, I guess the question is... what are you gonna do now, Dean?
Dean sighed. He knew that Sam was still living his life, but simply being without Sam has always been difficult.
(Dean looks away from Bobby and sees the Impala, with the original KAZ 2Y5 license plate, parked on the road)
DEAN
I think I'll go for a drive.
BOBBY
Have fun.
DEAN
Hey, baby.
"Hey, It's my beautiful baby!" Dean yelled in excitement. Sam just shook his head in disbelief at his brothers antics.
(Dean starts the car and turns on the radio. "Carry on Wayward Son" by Kansas plays from the radio)
'Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done'
"Ah! I love this song," Dean exclaimed loudly!
DEAN
Ah!
I love this song.
Jack and Sam laughed at the screen repeating what Dean had just said.
'Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more'
Whoo!
(Deans speeds off down the road. The song continues to play as the scene shifts between Dean driving down the road and Sam's life on earth.)
(A small boy wearing overalls with 'Dean' embroidered on the front is walking next to Sam. Sam picks him up, laughing.)
"You named your son after me? Aww, Sammy!" Dean said, voice cracking involuntarily. Sam turned to Eileen, and smiled sadly.
(Dean driving)
(Sam teaches a young Dean II how to catch a baseball as a woman watches from the house.)
"You look like you're having a great time being a dad, Moose. Clearly the "Apple pie life" as Squirrel here puts it suits you." Sam just nodded, but there was no hiding the small smile on his face growing.
(Dean driving)
'Ahhhhhhhh'
(Sam doing homework with a teenaged Dean II at the table in his house. A large picture of John, Mary, Sam and Dean hangs in the living room.)
"Aw, look, it's a family portrait!" Dean said, then wondered, "Where the heck did you get that?" Sam thought about it, and then shrugged. "No clue."
'Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion
I was soaring ever higher
But I flew too high'
(Dean driving)
'Though my eyes could see, I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think, I still was a madman'
(A gray-haired Sam goes into his garage and pulls the tarp off of the Impala. He sits inside, puts his hands on the steering wheel and cries while remembering Dean.)
Dean started to chuckle at how old Sammy looked. Sam smiled as tears fell down his face. It pained him to imagine a world without his brother.
'I hear the voices when I'm dreaming
I can hear them say
Carry on, my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more
On a stormy sea of moving emotion
Tossed about, I'm like a ship on the ocean
I set a course for winds of fortune
But I hear the voices say
Carry on, my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry
Don't you cry no more'
(Dean driving)
(An aged, sick Sam lies in a hospital bed in the living room of his house, directly under the portrait of the four Winchesters. He is hooked up to medical monitors and oxygen. Adult Dean II walks into the room and there is an anti-possession tattoo on his forearm. He comes and sits on the bed next to Sam, placing his hand on Sam's)
Dean and Sam notice the anti-possession tattoo on the man's arm. "So I'm guessing you told him about our job." Dean said, trying not to think about Sam being hooked up to monitors. "Guess so Dean." Sam said, watching himself, and his future son carefully.
DEAN II
Dad.
It's okay.
You can go now.
Aw no too soon! Too soon! Why would you do that? Aw no! Dean turned and saw his brother staring at the screen, remembering the video from the night before.
("Carry On Wayward Son" by Neoni begins to play)
'Carry on, my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more'
(Sam nods, places his hand on Dean's. He closes his eyes as his head falls to the side a single tear streams down his face. The monitors flatline and begin to beep.)
Dean let a tear fall down his face, then turned and hugged his brother fiercely. His brother had gotten a long life, but it was always painful to watch him die.
'On a stormy sea of moving emotion
Tossed about, I'm like a ship on the ocean
I set a course for winds of fortune
But I hear the voices say
Carry on, my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more'
(Dean arrives at a bridge over a river and slows to a stop in the middle of it.)
So you've been driving the whole time?" Jack asked, looking at the screen thoughtfully. "Looks like it," Dean replied, smiling at the boy.
'No more
No more
Don't you cry no more'
(Dean gets out of the Impala and looks around with a satisfied expression. He walks over to the rail, looks out over the river and smiles.)
'Now your life's no longer empty
Surely, Heaven waits for you
Carry on, my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest'
(Dean gets a puzzled look on his face, pauses for a moment and smiles. He looks slightly over his shoulder)
'Don't you cry no more'
"You look happy, Dean," Cas said, watching the man he loved very carefully. Dean nods and smiles at his…...angel.
DEAN
Hey, Sammy.
SAM (Sam is the age he was when Dean died)
Dean.
(The boys walk over to each other, smile and hug. They walk over to the railing, Dean's arm around Sam's shoulder, and smile, contentedly.)
Sam and Dean turn to one another and hug each other so furiously, the others think that they've stopped each other's lungs from breathing. After a few minutes, The two brothers separate, and then turn to hug the people next to them. For Sam this meant Eileen, but for Dean this meant Cas. When they hugged, Dean felt a small tug of longing. It was as if his body didn't want to leave the angel's arms. Eventually, however, they broke apart and turned to the others in the room. "This is a lot of lovey-dovey stuff, and I'm not sure how I feel about it," Dean said, looking at each face in the room. Crowley, who had been quiet for a long time, then chose that moment to speak up. "The Screen said that it would be showing us multiple futures. Why do you think she wants us to know about all this depressing crap?" Bobby's forehead scrunched as he thought for a bit, then he answered. "Maybe they want us to react for their entertainment?" Cas and Crowley look at each other, as a thought crosses both of their minds, but then they sweep the thought away. "Well whoever is doing this," Sam said, "They seem to rather like us getting depressed, and then getting happy afterward." Dean glanced at his brother, then got up and started to the kitchen. "Well, I'm going to go get a beer, maybe see if there's a library to research stuff in?" Jack perked up and nodded very quickly. "There is actually! I found it last night before we went to bed. This way Sam!" Sam watched Dean leave the room, torn about letting his brother out of his sight, but then sighs and follows Jack to the library room. Meanwhile, Crowley and Bobby mysteriously found their way into their room again. Cas went with Dean into the kitchen, and Eileen went and joined Sam and Jack in the Library.
…
There, that's better right? No more depression? Good. Great. So Update on how the story is going. I have found one of the authors that I was thinking about and she said yes, so that is going to be fun. The downside is that I can't just copy and paste it off of the website. So once I get that figured out, I will try and get those chapters written as soon as possible. Now a message to Authors of Supernatural Fanfics. Want to collab? All you have to do is leave a message in my reviews, or email me with an email I will send you in the review section. Alright. More information on that later, just ask if you want any clarifications. Umm, the information I want to share…. I might not keep up with the everyday schedule that I'm starting out with. I most likely will just choose a day and upload one chapter per week as the story grows and I have more chapters to write. I am also making this story my main focus now, so the others are on hiatus. I just started working at my new job and I work late shifts, which means that I'm already behind on homework. I understand that what I'm doing is a big project to tackle, but I've been wanting more stories like this, so I figured why not write my own. Oh, and some ships in here, I don't actually ship, or understand them being together, I just like the irony and humor of them being together, so together they will stay. Also, I'm not shipping Jack with anyone, he is too young. I understand he drank beer when he was just 3 days old, but he's just a little baby in a teenager's body. I really don't know how to write some of these characters, but I'm learning as I go. It's also really bad when you call someone Idjit in your mind, after just writing it down three times in the past few days. I gotta stop connecting myself with these characters. Anyways, have a great day I guess. Go drink some water, go eat some food. Take care of your body and your mind. And last but not least, Don't let yourself forget who you are. Try not to turn yourself into your favorite character. Love yourself, your body, your talents. You are you, and that's enough.
Carry on my wicked readers!
