It's not an easy job to rule the entirety of the underworld but that's what it is for Eddie. His job, for as long as he can remember. Nothing gives him more satisfaction than leading an entire world underneath everyone's unsuspecting feet. The knowledge that he's one of the strongest and scariest beings certainly gives him a rush. (And a big head, as Lena would say.) But he has a whole army of demons under his control, in Hell and on Earth, he can have a little leeway to be big-headed with a battalion like that.

Even though he is the King of Hell, he likes causing mischief to a point of being a bit bad here and there. But, Eddie's always been meticulous and finicky, not always wanting to subject himself to silly ploys on others when he has better things to deal with. Some would say he has a stick up his arse, once again thanks Lena.

Eddie just likes to be in control.

He had fun, one time, with a human called Shannon who he met on Earth whilst he was in a Las Vegas casino ruining everyone's pockets. She was the Blackjack dealer and Eddie couldn't take his eyes off her. He doesn't even care for Blackjack. It's rare, for him, to find a human attractive, but there was something about Shannon that drew him in. She had dainty features, a slim body, piercing eyes. But, none of that compared to the wicked gleam in her blue eyes. He recognised that look. The emotion intrigued him and that same night he took her to bed.

The weeks that followed were the most fun Eddie had had in a while, he even considered telling her who he really was - perhaps slowly easing her into that side of him and the empire he ruled over.

Everything had been exciting and intoxicating from the beginning and he allowed himself to want to explore it more.

Until Shannon told him she was pregnant.

Which, excuse him for laughing, was frankly ludicrous even more so because of the fear hidden in the depths of her eyes when he asked for a paternity test, instead of flailing about like some dying fish. Eddie always could read emotions from people, exceptionally well.

That was the problem with him and Shannon, they were too much alike. They clashed. Both liked causing mischief too much, they liked to see people bow beneath them to show them that they are more powerful.

Her one mistake was thinking that he would cower and bow before her. That he would sit down and take the obvious scheme on the chin.

Eddie doesn't bow for anyone.

She refused to bow for him until he made her.

In the end, he sent her away and hasn't particularly thought of her (or seen her) since; apart from occasional reminiscence. There was something about having a partner that Eddie enjoyed, enough that he let Shannon stay around and he remained monogamous during that time.

However, right this second, Eddie has reached his breaking point, it's already stressful enough having to run the actual depths of hell. Except now he's become some kind of glorified babysitter to the demons he has placed on Earth.

Recently, there have been lots of reports of demons being too distracted to do their tasks, some just weren't getting it done and others were getting it done very late. It's infuriating and he couldn't possibly imagine how a whole league of demons were all seemingly failing and being incompetent.

He has been trying to pinpoint the reason for the distraction since they started acting strange months ago and he's determined to find out.

His second-in-command Lena interrupts him as he's heavily making out with a demon he had pulled from the team on the river. His shirt unbuttoned, jeans unzipped and her hand was beginning to move along his hardened abs.

Every now and again Eddie likes to divulge himself - satiate his sexual appetite with a meaningless demon and then move on to someone else when he feels like it. It's not as fun as it was with Shannon, but still it's good enough to pass the time.

He can't help it if he's bored - sometimes leading Hell can get very repetitive. He just wishes something would come along to peak his interest for once.

Eddie groans pulling away, "What is it now, Lena?"

She rolls her eyes taking no shit from him, it's something Eddie always admired in her - she's not afraid of him.

It's why he made her his second.

"The demons on Earth," she states.

Well, that certainly gets his attention.

His eyes narrow, "What about them?"

"They seem, how should I put this, distracted…"

He scoffs moving to turn back to the warm body next to him, "I know that already."

She clears her throat, shuffling a stack of papers neatly piled in her hand, "Well, I know why."

"Go on," he prompts removing the lips that had attached themselves to his neck to give Lena his full attention pulling the demon away with a tug of her dark curly hair.

"There's an angel."

Eddie stands up abruptly, completely thrown off-kilter, the other woman flails around before falling to the floor. He doesn't look her way. "An angel on Earth?" He starts zipping up his trousers and buttoning his shirt, "There hasn't been one of those in centuries."

"Yes, well there's one now."

"Absolutely not," Eddie mutters.

"At this point, he's been around for nearly twenty-five years."

Eddie stumbles as he pulls on his leather jacket, "How has he managed to stay under the radar all these years?"

"I guess his escapades have suddenly… how should I put it… got more flamboyant recently."

"Flamboyant?" He deadpans, "You mean… he's sleeping with my demons?"

"That would be correct, yes."

Eddie groans, "A sex-crazed Angel, amazing, haven't had one of those since Gabriel decided to wreak havoc."

Lena snorts, "That was a fun time," Eddie gives her a look, "I mean annoying, but also," she chuckles, smirking devilishly (something Eddie has to give props for, she does it well), "A lot of fun."

Give him strength right now.

"The one mistake I made was not killing that stupid trickster whilst I had the chance," Eddie growls walking towards his bedside table and pressing a button.

"Well someone is in a mood," she quips.

"You did interrupt me," he points out, only just realising that the demon he was enjoying himself with is still there now currently seated on the floor by his feet. Eddie stares at her, she's pretty dark hair and dark eyes, a small body perfect for being manipulated by himself. He tries to remember her name, but can't seem to come up with it.

"You wanted to know about the demons on Earth," Lena points out. They both turn expectedly to the demon on the floor - hoping she takes the hint.

She stays on the floor, her eyes not leaving Eddie's as she bats her eyelashes.

"Holy Devil, Ana!" Lena exclaims. Ah, Ana, that was it. "Take a hint!"

Ana huffs and turns expectant eyes upon Eddie who doesn't even acknowledge her, "You heard her. Get out."

She goes to say something and then thinks better of, picks herself up, and stomps away. Eddie wouldn't be seeing her again that's for sure.

"You sure know how to pick them," Lena mocks.

Eddie chooses to ignore that. "Holy Devil," he muses, amused, "What an oxymoron."

"If we even speak his name, you get the shivers."

Eddie scowls, "He's an annoying bastard," he says petulantly.

Lena snickers.

Eddie's thoughts go back to the angel. "This angel has been the bane of my existence for the past few months, do you know how many demons suddenly couldn't do their job?"

Lena shakes her head a mischievous glint in her eyes as Eddie rants.

"Twenty!" Eddie says, indignantly, "Twenty useless demons and it's all because an angel was seducing them, which is not what I was expecting may I add."

"It's a hot angel who wants to bang. You should know, you love a good romp in the sheets." "We're in the 21st century, remember Lena," he snarks, snapping his fingers, "and how do you know they're hot?"

She shrugs and then gives him a look, "You're not seriously going to kill the angel right, boss?"

Eddie rolls his sleeves up and stares at his growing knife collection, "Up until five minutes ago I didn't even know this angel existed, let alone that he's roaming around on Earth. On top of that, he's distracting my demons."

He turns around after perusing his collection having selected one of his angel blades. This one is encrusted with rich sapphires and lined with silver edgings.

"Besides, it's not like anyone is going to miss them. They're a walking glow stick and no one has claimed them, they're merely a thorn in my side which needs to be gone."

Lena looks down at the stack of papers in her hand and then mutters, "Just wait until you see him."

Eddie's eyes narrow wondering what his second has hidden within those papers that's causing her so much amusement before shaking his head he doesn't want to know anything about this angel.

Lena waves the papers in front of his eye line teasingly, "Sure, you don't want these?"

Eddie smacks them away, "I'm sure."

"Alright, suit yourself," she shrugs and pats the papers resting against her chest. "Have fun out there."

"Thank you," he says suspiciously.

"Good luck killing the angel!"

Eddie rolls his eyes and leaves.

He arrives on Earth with one thought on his mind and finds himself standing in front of a almost snorts in amusement when he reads the name of it, Divine Angels, does the angel not know the word subtlety? It's like he wants Eddie to find him.

"I swear if this is another Gabriel," he mutters to himself.

When he gets into the club Eddie, never known to be surprised, almost takes a step back when he finally finds the little angel. Because they aren't really little, this one is made of muscle and legs for days, so much that he stands above most people in the club. He's almost as tall as Eddie himself.

He realises now why Lena may have found the situation humorous because this angel is the most beautiful creature Eddie has ever seen.

What's even more shocking is the glow that he is omitting, a bright white light that is attracting too many people around him like moths to a flame. Eddie can even see some of his demons flocking around too.

Once again, he notes, the angel doesn't seem to know the word subtle if it were to punch him in the face.

That's what Eddie's going to do, but with this handy angel-killing blade instead of his fist.

He slinks through the club by-passing through the crowd of sweaty, gyrating bodies - he feels eyes on him. One pair he knows are looking at him, his skin feels scorched under his heated glances.

As Eddie gets closer to the angel, the demons he had seen flocking around him seem to realise that Eddie was there. Their eyes widen and they all retreat, fear encompassing them all.

The angel's eyes widen as soon as they meet Eddie's and heat rushes into the blue depths, he's almost blown away by the beauty of him - this little angel is definitely worthy of his birthright. If he wasn't certain of him being an angel, Eddie would have thought him to be one of his incubi.

Now he's closer, he notices the small pink mark decorating one of his eyes, a birthmark.

"Hey," the angel says breathlessly.

Eddie looks him up and down causing the other man to blush, it makes his birthmark stand out more. Eddie wants to caress the mark so bad, the thought surprises him completely and he has to stop his hand from reaching out instinctively.

He wants to put this angel into a painting like the work of art that he is.

It's a shame he has to die.

Eddie smirks, "Hey there,' and boldly grabs the blonde by the waist pulling him so they're flushed chest to chest. Eddie can hear his own heavy breathing, can feel the soft glow of heady pleasure surrounding the angel who all but melts into him.

Just as he's inching for the knife strapped to his side, a hand pushes between them knocking Eddie off-course.

Because the angel has pushed his arm between them, hand outstretched for… a handshake?

A handshake of all things.

"Uh-" Eddie stares at it suspiciously not knowing what to do.

The angel, unfazed, takes Eddie's hand into his own and eagerly shakes it up and down - a bright grin on his face.

Eddie is just slightly confused, scratch that very confused by the turn of events. They're currently at the point of grinding on one another, sweaty, in the middle of a crowd of sex-slicked bodies and the angel's next move is to shake his hand of all things.

"I'm Evan Buckley," he says still moving their hands up and down.

"Eddie," he supplies, the angel - Evan - raises an eyebrow causing Eddie to hastily add, "Diaz."

Well, that may have just blown his cover - the supernatural world all know his name, he's sort of unforgettable.

However, Evan surprises him again, his eyes don't show the usual flare of fear and recognition. The emotions surrounding him don't change. Instead, he's granted a cheeky grin and a nice to meet you.

Eddie tries to return the greeting as normal as possible, Evan doesn't seem to notice or doesn't mention it anyway.

"So, where are you from?"

"Hell."

Evan takes it in stride, laughing, "Right, it's like that is it," and gives him a salacious grin.

What the fuck is going on.

Eddie chuckles awkwardly, confused by this whole interaction, was the angel just playing dumb, or does he genuinely have no idea.

He tries for the seduction instead, "What's a pretty thing like you doing at a place like this?"

Evan smiles and ducks his head, bashfully. Eddie realises it must have been because he called him pretty. The angel likes to be praised and complimented it seems.

That ignites something in him that he hasn't felt since Shannon.

"Just trying to have fun and uh - you know... find something."

His neck had flushed an adorable red and Eddie hates how realises that the sapphires in his angel blade are nothing compared to the ones currently locking him in place held by Evan's own eyes.

That is way too beautiful in one body, he thinks begrudgingly.

"Find something, huh? Having any luck?"

Evan smiles flirtatiously, giving Eddie a once over, "Well, I think my luck is finally turning around."

Eddie raises an eyebrow at his boldness, "Oh yeah? You seem pretty confident about that."

Evan hums in agreement, "Do you want me to prove it?" He creeps closer to Eddie, arms coming out to circle around his shoulders. His hands squeeze them

"Nice shoulders," Evan says, absent-mindedly.

Eddie chuckles, causing Buck to flail in alarm and embarrassment - arms moving to draw away. Eddie reaches a hand out to stop him, his own arms curling around Buck's waist bringing them back together.

"You're something, Evan Buckley, you know that?"

"Yeah?" Evan breathes out, ducking his face to hide the spreading blush. Adorable.

Eddie feels like he's been struck by something in that moment, it takes him a while to answer back in his own breathy tone, "Yes, I can't quite figure you out."

Evan blinks wide-eyed at him filled with innocence and there's a small gleam of hope, "And you want to?"

Eddie nods biting his lip, Evan's eyes flit down to it his eyes darkening, "Very much so."

The smile Eddie is given is so wide, so happy - he almost wants to do anything he can to keep it on the angel's face forever. The whole interaction reminds him of his first meeting with Shannon and yet it feel different, more intense. The feeling that he's met his match makes him want to hold onto the angel and never let him go.

He and Shannon were too much alike, he and Evan on the other hand are complete opposites from two separate worlds.

The epiphany hits him that the whole time he and Evan have been conversing; Eddie has not once reached for his blade.

The act of killing Evan has left his mind.

Eddie hates what this one meeting has done to him.

But he can't help himself. He threads his fingers through Evan's blonde curls pulling him up so they're both at eye level. He lets himself run a hand through his hair noting how soft it is once he pulls away the product that's stuck into it.

Evan's eyes are glazed flicking down to sneak glances at Eddie's lips, his mouth drawn open - Eddie brings their faces together - hot puffs of air exchanging between them.

This definitely isn't part of the plan, but Evan has kind of stomped all over it the moment his eyes met Eddie's

Fuck it, Eddie thinks, cupping Evan's face between his hands and pulling him in for a kiss.

Their lips meet and Eddie knows then and there that he's screwed.

He's never felt scorching heat like this before one that spreads through his veins like a wildfire that can't be extinguished.

Evan is his wildfire.

The fires of Hell can't touch him and yet the fire glowing and shining bright inside of this little angel seem to be able to infiltrate every part of him.

They both pull away panting and Eddie delights in seeing that he's not the only one affected. Evan's eyes are glazed over and his mouth is puffy, pouty, and bitten-red.

It makes Eddie want to dive back in again for just a little more.

But he can't.

He can't allow himself to indulge in the pleasure of Evan until he finds out what the fuck is going on.

Instead, he gives Evan the biggest grin he can muster hoping it's not a grimace, "I'll be seeing you." It causes Evan to flinch back in surprise and a little hurt.

"What?" Evan croaks out.

It takes way too much out of him to pull away and turn his back on Evan.

But the angel surprises him again reaching out to hold onto him.

Eddie turns around and their gazes snap to one another.

Evan's blue eyes are filled with uncertainty, "Will you?" He questions, almost too soft for Eddie to hear but he picks it up. He thinks he will always listen attentively to anything that comes out of Evan's mouth.

Eddie tilts his head, questioningly.

"See me again?" He emphasises stepping forward as if he wants to bask himself in the comfort of Eddie and Eddie only.

His expression makes Eddie want to reassure him, to give him the comfort he is so clearly yearning for, but he knows he can't until he finds out what's truly going on.

He squeezes the hand that rests on his forearm, "You can count on it."

Eddie leaves him dazed and disorientated in the sea of bodies, the feel of Evan still tingling on his lips. Not only did Eddie feel a burst of complete pure sunshine whilst kissing him, but he's almost certain that Evan doesn't even understand the effect he has on people, which could potentially be a problem.

Eddie wonders why there's an angel wandering around Earth left completely unattended in the first place.

Is this a part of a grander scheme or could it be that an angel is somehow just living on Earth, blissfully unaware?

Eddie promises himself that he's going to get to the bottom of this Evan Buckley if it's the last thing he'll do.

On his return back to Hell, he's met with a smirking Lena as soon as he enters his room.

He raises a finger towards her, "Not a word."

She wiggles her eyebrows, "Where are you going, boss?"

Seems like he's going to be subjected to some teasing, he knew not killing Evan Buckley was going to come back and bite him in the ass.

"To earth," he mutters.

"Can't possibly imagine why, I'm guessing you actually saw the angel."

"Yep."

"The angel isn't dead." She states it like a fact, not a question, and damn her for it.

"Nope."

"Are you still going to kill him?"

Eddie growls, returning the angel blade back to his weapons and not looking at Lena the entire time. It's not that he's ashamed, he just really doesn't want to see her smug expression and the I told you so poised on her lips.

"I'm guessing you don't want to know where he works then," she sings causing Eddie's eyes to flash to hers. Anyone else would be intimidated by him, but Lena's grin just widens even more.

Great, he's giving her even more ammo.

He struggles to get his words out managing to choke out a "Where."

"Can I get a please?"

"Lena!" Eddie warns.

"Fine, fine," she heaves a sigh, walking over to him and placing the stack of papers into his hands. They were the ones she had held previously when he was first told about Evan Buckley.

He stares down at the papers noticing how it's basically everything you could possibly want to know about him. The angel is a firefighter then. It's paired with a delightful picture on top. He wants to run a finger along it to trace the angel's beauty - his birthmark.

But he definitely does not want Lena to witness any of that.

"You've had this the whole time!" He exclaims instead.

"You said you didn't want it," she justifies, delighted, "Besides I couldn't wait to see your reaction when you returned and saw the angel himself in person."

The picture doesn't do him justice.

He scoffs, "Fine."

"I cannot wait to see you become a firefighter."

"You are not coming, I need my second here running the place."

"Oh, come on," she whines.

"No."

"But-"

"No."

"Fine."

"Excellent," he concludes.

"I guess I'll see you in a few weeks. What are you even going down there to do?" she questions tilting her head.

"I'm going to figure this angel out once and for all."

"You like him," she teases.

"I do not!"

"Yeah, you do? Ever had sex with an angel before?"

"It isn't like that," he protests weakly. Although, he must admit that he's only ever divulged in demons and occasional other supernatural beings. Shannon was the exception. Never an angel and after meeting Evan the thought of it has certainly crossed his mind; intriguing him on what it would be like.

Would he glow when he was with Eddie and he was pleasuring the angel till he was begging for more? What noises would he make? How would he react to certain things he was picturing?

And none of this line of thought is helping his argument, he realises suddenly.

She hums, not in agreement, which makes Eddie scowl even more.

"I don't like the angel, I will never like the angel, I don't even think about the angel."

Lies all lies, damn this Evan Buckley.

"Famous last words," Lena croons, waving at him as he turns to go.

He had no idea how right she was about to be.
