Chapter 5: Viox's POV

I was sitting at the table with Kaeya when my parents came barging in the room looking upset or I should say mad really is a more accurate way to describe how they looked.

"So did you find Violet?" I asked cautiously

"Yeah we found her in the Tavern and we had such a oh so lovely chat with your sister" Mom said clearly being sarcastic with her last statement. I just blinked at her confused why she would be so sarcastic about it.

"Can you believe that your sister never wanted to join the knights? Or that she wanted to run away after everything we have done for her" Dad scuffed.

"Oh she told you?" I said, not surprised by it at all. They started at me for a moment.

"You knew about this?" Dad asked, surprised.

"And you didn't tell us because?" Mom added in.

"Well yeah she talked to me about it when she got too overwhelmed with everything, and i didn't tell you cause you didn't need to know about it at the time. Also another thing you guys did jack shit for Violet besides degrade her everytime she made a small mistake or when she TRIED to tell you guys she didn't want to become a knight." I ranted at them. They just blinked at me processing what I said.

"Well we didn't know, we just wanted the best for you after what happened, we thought that since Violet got her vision she could protect you and the best way to do that is to become a knight" Mom huffed crossing her arms. I groaned after she said that.

"Do you not hear yourselves? You really see nothing wrong with what you just said?" I asked, appalled that they even thought like that.

"We just wanted to protect you is that a bad thing?" Dad asked.

"Yes because you are only thinking about me and not Violet, you know your other daughter. Besides, I don't need to be protective." I said starting to get upset at them. Kayea came behind me, placing a hand on my shoulder to help calm me a bit. I heard a sniffle come from mom, I looked at her in confusion.

"We...were...just…trying to give you the best life" mom sniffled out.

"You made your mother cry Viox" was the only thing dad said before pulling her into his arms to comfort her. I just shook my head standing up, I couldn't deal with them right now.

"I'm surprised she hasn't cut you guys out of her life with the bullshit you are speaking" I said as departing words, walking towards the door. I felt Kaeya hot on my heels. He didn't say anything till we were outside and the door was closed.

"Are you okay?" Kaeya asked, slipping his hand in mine. I smiled squeezing his hand slightly.

"I'm okay, I'm worried about Violet though," I said walking towards the Tavern. He squeezed my hand back.

"You know I'm sure Violet is fine, she's strong" he finished his statement. I shook my head at him.

"You know the front she puts up, I know her and she is upset about this" I told him walking into the Tavern. I looked around for Violet, spotting her at a table with her head down and her hands clutching something. I walked over to her, she lifted her head up once she heard me, I saw the tear streaks on her face. I sat down next to her before pulling her into a hug. We stayed like that for a while before she pulled away.

Diluc came to the table and placed our drinks in front of us. He lingered behind for a bit like he didn't want to leave Violet alone. I smiled a little at that. They would be good for each other. Violet sniffled again before she took a deep breath and took a small sip of her water.

"You didn't have to come here," She said softly. I let out a soft chuckle

"You're my sister, of course I would make sure you are okay" I told her sincerely.

"But still you're injured because of me, you shouldn't be here, you should be at home resting" she said quietly. I know she feels guilty even though it's not her fault. I sighed that our parents shouldn't put this much pressure on her shoulders.

"It's not my fault I got injured. We didn't see the hilichurl, and I'm fine I promise" I said, grabbing her hand and giving it a squeeze. She looked up at me smiling. We hung out for a little bit, once Violet finished her drink she got up and left saying she needed to get fresh air. I gave her a gentle smile saying my byes to her. Kaeya grabbed my hand as we watched Violet leave the place.

"She's gonna be fine, lovebug," Kaeya told me, rubbing his thumb back and forth on the back of my hand. I smiled up at him.

"I know...it's just she takes all of this responsibility all on her own when she doesn't have too" I sighed out. I feel so bad for my sister. I wish she would talk to me or even her team. Shortly after Violet left, Kaeya and I decided it was time to head home. The walk home was pleasant. As soon as we walked in through the door, we saw my parents sitting on the couch in the living room. I walked to the living room sitting in my favorite chair in the corner pulling out my book to start reading. I didn't even read half of the page that I'm on when dad cleared his throat. I sighed before putting down the book marking where I am with my thumb. I looked at them with a blank face.

"Where were you at?" Dad asked me, crossing his arms.

"I went to the Tavern to check on Violet, not that you guys needed to know that" I said looking at them with a raised eyebrow, daring them to say something.

"Why did you need to check in on Violet?" Mom asked tilting her head to the side

"Because you guys don't realize that what you say and do to her affects her, you guys put so much pressure on her shoulders and all you do is complain and tell her she's not good enough when I'm reality she's really good at what she does and she is so kind and full of love!" I snapped at them finally getting fed up with their bullshit. They looked at me with surprise on their faces.

"What did you say to use?" Mom asked.

"I said what I said and I think it's best if you leave" I said beginning to rub my temples. They blinked at me staying silent for a minute.

"Wh-" dad started but I held up my hand to stop him

"No whatever you're gonna say just no. You guys need to go back home and stop harping on Violet, she doesn't need it" I said leaning back in the chair. They stared at me again before sighing. They both got up and walked out the door.
