*As all ways I own nothing of Rizzoli and Isles I am just blessed to use the characters for awhile.

(Chapter Fifteen)

Maura sat in her office with tears boiling down her face. She had closed her door and blinds to the outside world while she tried to regain her emotions. She didn't like being this angry but the phone call to the D.A. seemed to be the last straw. She knew it was a long shot for charges to be filed against Judy McDermott based on what she found and had read, but she still hoped for a sliver of justice for the dead girl laying on her table. All she could do now was hope that Jane would be able to find someway to charge McDermott and have her findings support the eviedence with a motive as to why Bethany may have been murdered.

She picked up her phone from the desk again and dialed, "Rizoli." was answered.

"Jane... it's me... Maura."

Jane looked down at her phone puzzled at first but then noticed that her best friend had actually called from the office phone instead of cell phone. She had wondered why the normal ring tone hadn't played. "What's up Maur ... Have you found anything yet?"

"I have found many things Jane, but nothing that can be used in court to prove the fact of who committed these murders. What I found may can be used in a supporting of evidence to help convict someone of murder by giving a cause for possible motive."

Jane wasn't following Maura's train of thought. "In English please..." the brunet said stomping her foot impatiently. Jane was already frustrated at all the praise of how "strong" and what a "Godly woman" Judy McDermott was having to endure such a tragedy, that she had heard over and over making her want to vomit. She and Frankie had been talking with fellow church people and neighbors all afternoon and hadn't found even a hint of a bone let alone a skeleton in McDermott's closet. She was hoping the new findings could point her hunting skills in the right direction on where to find these said bones.

Maura sighed thinking a moment on the information she would relay, "According to Alley's journals Judy McDermott was a master mind in torture." She paused letting that sink in, "It wasn't the kind of torture that would show up on the outside of the physical body but the scars are all documented on the inside of her young body." She sighed a deep sigh again as she pushed herself to finish, "Alley wrote in her journal that McDermott had once made Bethany run sprints in the cold without warming up after she had already sprained her ankle in practice the day before."

"That's cruel," Jane said knowing how much running on a bruised ankle hurts let alone a sprained one.

"It is and was, and according to Alley, Bethany missed a track scholarship because she had to have surgery on that ankle that month. Bethany also had to spend three weeks alone with the witch trying to heal while waiting on the woman hand and foot the whole time. All this in penitence for visiting Alley after school."

"God... I'm really not liking this woman." Jane said as the heat reached her cheeks.

Maura had to agree with Jane, she wasn't impressed either, "what did Judy McDermott do before becoming a full time house wife and "Godly woman"?"

Jane stopped and thought a moment. She hadn't found any information on the woman's back ground before she married Danny McDermott in the police files and all these people here are from her present and the girls present too.

"Jane..."

"Hummm... oh sorry Maura... I'm not sure but I think I could kiss you for asking and giving me an idea."

The phone lay silent between them for a few moments as both pondered the innocent statement. Neither at the moment had the emotional energy to respond to the elephant on the phone. Jane shook her head out of the fog it was in, "I think I'll head over to the Carter's and see if they can enlighten me on Judy's past. Hopefully I'll get something to help. I'll stop by when I get back in town tonight."

"The light will be on." was the last thing Maura said before hanging up the phone and putting the girls file and the journal in her briefcase to head home.

Okay I know these are short but at least I'm posting. :)
