*As all ways I own nothing of Rizzoli and Isles I am just blessed to use the characters for awhile.

Jane got out of the cruiser and looked at the funeral home before her and shivered a bit. She saw dead people all the time but there was just something so final about funeral homes. Mr. Carter was making the final arrangements for his daughter and grandchild's funeral and had agreed to speak with her there.
"I hate funeral houses." Frankie voiced what Jane was thinking.
"Me too little brother but they are called funeral homes."
"Call it what you like... they give me the creeps. Especially the guys who run them... being all Adams family weird and stuff," he said raising his shoulders and shaking off the odd feeling he was having.
"You can stay with the car if you want," Jane said offering the man an out of going in.
"Nah... if I'm going to do homicide I need to buck up." He said straightening his shoulders and stepping forward towards the front door.
Jane smiled a proud smile... knowing that Frankie would make a great detective one day.
"Good afternoon," a tall man in a black suit approach the two detectives extending his hand to Frankie. Not liking it the young man shook the undertakers hand and gave Jane a "this guy is diffidently related to Lurch look." She laughed at her brother when the man turned to take them to where Mr. Carter was, because she caught him wiping his hand on his pants like something had rubbed off from the man's hand.
"Detective Rizzoli, it is a pleasure seeing you again," came from a room off to the side as Mr. Carter walked towards her.
"Mr. Carter how are you and your wife?" Jane asked sensuously concerned about the couple.
"We are surviving this at the moment," he said looking at her grimly.
"I know it's tough," she agreed as he led them to a quite room where they could talk without people disturbing them.
"How can I help you my dear?"
"Well as you know..." she started feeling uneasy all of a sudden but regrouped "...when we investigate we have to look into the family histories as well as others." He nodded his understanding, "...so I have all the information I need on your family but am lacking on some of the McDermott's."
"Let me see if I'm understand you clearly; you want me to tell you information on the Mcdermotts?"
"Yes and no..." she started saying.
He interrupted her "I'm not sure if I can detective but if you think it will help in finding out who killed me little girls..." he trailed off as tears welled up in his eyes.
Jane had a pain run through her chest. She hated having to even ask this man anything after everything he had been through. "Mr. Carter I just need to know if there is any information you might know of about Judy McDermott's past before she married Danny and moved here."
"Do you think that evil woman had anything to do with my girls?" he asked as fire shown in the welled up tears.
"No...no...no... but we have to ask questions to find clues in other areas sometimes." She said back peddling seeing the man's anger. "It's just in case something in the past may have caused the issues today." He looked at her with a "I'm not buying this but I'll let you do your job before I go kill her myself," look.
"Let's see if I can remember..." he paused gathering his thoughts "...they married in Ohio I believe. Yeah... it was in Dayton, Ohio. They had met at the hospital where Danny had been taking his wife for treatments before she died. That's really all I know except she was a horrible step mother."
"Thank you Mr. Carter for your help." She said standing up getting ready to leave not wanting to disturb the man any longer.
"Well... I not sure how that helped but I do need to get back to Alley's arrangements."
"When is the funeral?"
"Day after tomorrow. Thankfully there was a issue with getting Bethany back home so we could have a little longer for family and friends to be able to come in and say good bye. Mrs. McDermott was all up in arms wanting Bethany's funeral done first so they could get on with there lives." He said in air quotations repeating the woman's words.
"Wow..." is all Jane could get out.
"It's not about Bethany for that woman but about the attention that her step daughter death is getting her." The old man said shaking his head.
"Mr. Carter..." The tall man in the suit called from the doorway interrupting their conversation.
"Excuse me Detective Rizzoli, but I must go."
Jane patted his arm "Sure... I'll call if there is anything else." she started to say but switched trains of thought as the man started to walk away. "Mr Carter..." she called to him. He stopped and turned back looking at her, "May Maura and I attend Alley's funeral?"
The man looked at her, "That would please me greatly. Now I must go." He said as he left the room with the tall suit guy.
Jane found Frankie outside by the car. He couldn't stand the house any longer. "Did you find out anything?" he asked as she came closer.
"You would know if you hadn't bolted when Lurch in there started showing off caskets to you."
"That man gave me the creeps Jane."
"Yeah...yeah... I hear ya,"
"Didn't he really look like Lurch. I expected him to growl at me at any moment." he said shivering at the memory. Jane laughed and got into the car. She now had a place to start finding out what made evil... the evil she was. "Let's get home... I have a date with the computer on my desk tonight." She said as she was plotting what to type in the search modes on her computer to began finding Judy McDermott's skeletons..
