Jane's posture softened as she realized what Maura had been saying was true. "What has made you so wise all of a sudden?"
"It was something Alley wrote in her journal, "Loving someone is never a sin... but judging them... that is where sin lives."
Jane was so caught up pondering the statement that she didn't notice green eyes and velvet lips entering into her personal space. Not until the most powerful words she had ever heard were spoken just above a whisper.
"I love you Jane... and it isn't a sin for me to do so."
There was a small smile right before velvet lips found their mark and two hearts melted, as the elephant in the room started dancing a dance of victory. A beautiful sight as a grey dancing machine left the building smiling.
"I love you too, " was croaked out as Jane tried to find her vocal chords and use them again.
They sat there with heads and noses touching, wanting to soak in all the warmth of the moments confessions.
Finally, Jane broke the moments silence when the fear of what was going to happen next enter into her thoughts. True the elephant had left but now there was all this open space of frightening possibility where that elephant had been.
"What do we do now?" was asked in a deep voice of desire mixed with terrorized hope.
"What ever we want..." Maura said smiling but adding "...when ever we want and are ready for." she said sensing the fear of the unknown in the other woman.
Jane breathed out the breath of relief she had been holding before Maura's word calmed the brewing storms in her psyche.
"Can I stay here tonight and just hold you?" was asked in an almost reverent tone.
"I would like that very much Jane." Maura said taking the woman's hand and standing, then leading her to the stair case. That hand was never released until it was curled around her waist as they fell asleep enjoying the essence of innocence that only proclaimed new love can produce.

Okay this is a short update and finishes the last chapter. I am off for the next two days... sorry no post during this time frame. But when I return...
I have some really good plans for this story... :)
Those of you use to my twist and turns know that cliff hangers are around the corner... but you love me anyways... :) lol
God I've missed this.
