Life has been very challenging for the last two years, but I am grateful to God, family, and friends who have helped me survive. Thankfully I want to live and write again. Sometimes choices in life just suck and you buckle under the stress and run away from everything until you get help to stand again. I just want all to know no one is wonder woman or super man... and no one should expect you to be. No one should have to carry all the weight of the world on their shoulders alone and if you are... find help... it's out there. You may have to change your view or even leave where you are standing to find it... but it is out there.
Okay... now let's see if we can bring this story home.

(Chapter Nineteen)
Jane wanted to go interrogate Randy Miller but waited to see who was calling Maura, just in case it was something that would help with the questioning of her new suspect.
"Thank you for the update Suzie, and yes run new test on the DNA. Make sure to get a new sample from the body and walk it over in person and watch them do the actual test. I will look for the results when I return this afternoon."
Jane gave a questioning look when Maura grimaced as she disconnected her call. "What's going on?"
"The DNA test from Paul Gregorio the café owner showed that he wasn't the father of Alley's baby..." she trialed off.
"But..." Jane asked while waving her hand like give me more, because Maura had just went to her thoughts leaving Jane frustrated wanting information.
"Oh... but we aren't sure that the test is a positive result yet, since it showed a few markers which seem to be the same as Bethany. That makes me think the sample was contaminated."
"Maur... you gathered those samples yourself, how could that happen?"
"I did and the only thing I can think of is the outside lab mixed the two sample or Bethany, like me, has an unknown relative."
"Well I'm going to go and talk to Randy," she said deciding to leave it alone since she knew that DNA screw ups angered Maura. She remembered how upset the woman was at the lab when they called about her half brother's DNA, saying she contaminated the sample. She also knew that Suzie wouldn't mess up a sample that she was told personally to do.
Jane nodded to the officer at the door to open and let her in. He opened the door for her then stepped inside with her., which wasn't what she was use to, but reasoned that's how they did it in Stockbridge. She didn't understand why given the close quarters and how hot it was in the room. The young man was clearly nervous and started to say something to the officer until the man shook his head no at him.
"Mr. Miller I am Detective Jane Rizzoli with the Boston Police Department." she said pausing to let the information sink in, hoping to rattle the young man even more.
"Jerry... you know I haven't done anything!"
"Quite Randy... just answer the lady's questions."
Jane looked at the man, "Mr. Miller where were you the night of Sunday the 15th?"
The man looked at her with a puzzled look, "I... uh...I was at my dad's bar getting beat on. Look!" he yelled
"Randy calm yourself," the man said taking a step closer to him.
Randy looked back at Jane, "I only hit him once," the boy said looking down and shaking his head. Jane started to ask another question but a knock on the door stopped her. The officer opened the door after checking with Jane if it was okay. When the door opened Pastor Catherine was on the other side motioning for Jane to come out in the hall.
"For the love of..." she whispered before getting up and going out the door. "What's up?"
"Jane I know this is very unusual but may I speak with Randy for a few moments."
Jane looked at the woman like she had grown another eye in her forehead, "You know this guy?"
"Yes I do and I know that you need to speak with him and that he has information that you need to know but questioning him here will not result in anything." Jane started to say something but was interrupted by Maura running out of the viewing room into the interrogation room.
"Mr. Miller I need you to bend your head down towards your knees." The man was clearly having a panic attack. "Jane I need a small paper sack." She ordered when she saw Jane enter the room. The officer that was at the door ran out and back in with his lunch that was in a small paper bag. He emptied out the chips and sandwich onto the table and handed Maura the bag. "Mr. Miller I need you to breathe out into this bag then slowly breathe back from this bag." The man complied and within four or five in and out breaths was calming down some.
"Jane can I please speak with you outside?" Pastor Catherine asked.
Jane looked at her like "what...now"
"Please detective." She said as she nodded towards Maura as if to say "...he's in good hands."
Maura looked up, "Go ahead Jane, Mr. Miller is just going to sit here and breathe in and out for awhile and I have this officer here to help me if I need it. It will be okay."
Jane looked up to the ceiling wondering what else could happen on the case. "All right lets go and chat." she said as she motioned Pastor Catherine down the hall a bit to talk.
"Jane... Randy in there has not committed any crimes except in his own mind. He was beaten by his father growing up and he fought back finally a week ago. He paid a sever price for loving himself enough to stand up and punch back. And no... normally I do not condone violence but sometimes one has to stand up against bullies in a physical manor. The father use to lock the Randy in a storage closet at the bar after beating him when he was young."
Jane rubbed her face while processing the new information. The woman's last sentence made Jane understand the panic attack the man was having.
"Jane let me talk with Randy then we all can sit down at the café across the street and talk. I know he will answer your questions there."
Jane pointed back to the room, "Lead the way." she said consenting to the pastor's plea.
The officer was the first to leave when Pastor Catherine went in then Maura followed at the pastor's request.
"How is he doing?"
"He will recover."
"Good... let's go." Jane said taking Maura lightly by the arm and started ushering her towards the door.
"Go... go where?" she asked puzzled.
"To have lunch." Jane smiled like it was the most obvious answer in the world.
Okay I've gotten my feet wet again and promise three to four more chapters and this will be complete.
Thank you for sticking with me. I will try another update in three or four days. Sorry limited access to a computer right now but all is well. :)
