The Watcher

And The Nurse

Disclaimer: This is something I thought would be fun to do and is connected with an earlier one-shot of mine called 'New Folks In The Hills' that I did back in 2018.

"So, do you think we're being followed again?" Asked one Melissa McCall to her date that night.

Though boyfriend may be a more stronger term at this point than 'date' where the man is concerned. Said date/boyfriend chuckled with a grin forming on his lips. "Oh, yes, most certainly. If not by your lot then most likely mine." Rupert Giles told her.

"Or both but really, you would think they'd have lost interest by now considering this is our fifth date." She said with a small eyeroll and fond exasperation being heard in her voice.

Another chuckle came from Giles after hearing that. "With little in the way of anything being problematic, I suppose they need to get their entertainment somewhere."

Shortly after Xander, Cordy, Willow, and Tara had gotten themselves settled in at Beacon Hills through both residency and the opening of a new Magic Box store they themselves had done, Giles had shown up to see how things were going for the group. And to go over the information in person that they had sent him and the others back in England about the town due to the Coven's concerns over it. Plus, he wanted to meet Chris Argent and the current True Alpha by the name of Scott McCall. Of course, with Scott off at UC Davis, that had meant he wasn't about to get his wish in that area for a good time but thanks to life, he did end up meeting the boy's mother, Melissa. Thankfully not through some form of chaos that had chosen to befall the town, but rather on account of the fact she had decided to visit the Magic Box out of curiousity after hearing about it from Liam and Hayden. And when Melissa and Giles' eyes met, the two had instantly been drawn to one another. Something that had made Willow in a move her High School self would've been proud of, go gushy over.

The sight of Giles being a stammering mess around the beautiful woman had been a sight to see and Xander had been put out by having missed it since it would've been prime material to use against the older man for the amusement factor. Though missing out didn't necessarily stop the one eyed Carpenter anyway much to the older man's chagrin and Tara's mild disapproval. Mild, if only because she herself found it amusing. Of course, Stiles and Liam had quickly developed some paranoia about the two until being soundly smacked up side their heads and told to drop it. Not that Stiles really listened of course and had taken to following the two adults on their dates thanks to some free time in his schedule. Not necessarily knowing at first that there was others doing the same until around the 3rd date that had nearly seen the Sheriff throw them all in a cell for public disturbance and for being too nosy for their own good. An event that Melissa had chosen to gift her long time friend with as much unhealthy food as he wanted after Stiles went back to College.

This particular event would see certain nosy types take better means at staying hidden as they spied on the couple, or so they thought at any rate since neither Giles or Melissa had the heart to say anything. Now when Scott had heard about his mom dating a British guy who is part of the Supernatural world himself as something of a Hunter, he was on the fence about it. But the young Wolf could accept it since it wasn't Peter 'Creepy Stalker' Hale or even Chris Argent himself since that would've just been too damn weird given his dating history with the man's daughter, Allison. Whom was sadly no longer in the world with them thanks to Void Stiles' Oni. Granted, some of the earlier animosity between Scott and Chris (mostly on Chris' side) was another factor in it being too damn weird. And Chris himself had found something about Willow to be strangely familiar and it wasn't because she's a Redhead like his late wife was. But so long as his mother was being treated right by the man she's dating, Scott was ultimately happy in the end as she definitely deserved some happiness in her life with someone who was willing to treat her right.

Now Peter, when he managed to find out about the lovely Melissa being happily involved with another man that wasn't him thanks to the fact that gossip could reach even the lowest levels of Eichen House, was put out by the news. As the man still wanted her for himself! Agent Rafael McCall, Scott's dad, was even a little put out himself as he had hoped for a second chance with Melissa but gradually got over it and settled for being happy for his ex wife and her new found happiness. Fun fact, Buffy herself was one of those nosy individuals who'd taken to following Giles and Melissa on their dates. Partly to bug her father figure/long time mentor and partly out of concern since she didn't want him getting hurt emotionally or physically as she and the others didn't think his head could handle another hit. Though that may have been just them worrying too much about the head thing and just worrying too much in general about the older man. "Let's go someplace more private then. As I want to continue to have as much time as possible with you before you have to return to England again." Melissa eventually told him.

As thanks to his role as head of the New Council, Giles had to often go back and forth between England and America. Though he was starting to heavily consider moving permanently to Beacon Hills or asking her to move in with him back in England. But he had a feeling she likely wouldn't be too receptive to the idea of leaving the States since it would take her far from her son and what she had long known. "Now I believe I can approve whole heartedly of that idea, my dear."

The two smiled and shared a kiss, ignoring certain noises from their nosy watchers before breaking the kiss and making their leave for some privacy. And Melissa would make quite the case to Rupert about a permanent home in the Hills too without necessarily realizing it until later on.

Author's Notes: This was fun to do! At first I was considering placing this in either 'Wolfish Possibilities' or 'Stakes and Prophecies' but as I got to finishing it, I realized it would fit better on its own in the crossover section. I was also considering tying 'The Second Argent Daughter' with this too but I decided not to do that in the end.
