I'm so glad you loved that Ren got to feel up Bakugo's pecs LOL
Thanks for the reviews.
Honestly, they make me so happy!
Classroom Antics
"Oh, dear," Recovery Girl tsked, fussing over me with an ice pack and some gauze. "How in the world did you get a bloody nose on the first day, darling?"
Shinsou gave me a pointed look at her question. He definitely wanted to know what had happened, as well.
"Ah, well… I was stopping an angry Pomeranian from attacking someone. He found something out that made him furious and I interjected, using my quirk on him. When I released him, he almost fell and I tried to catch him. This is the result of not knowing my own strength."
"That's a whole lot for your first day, dear. Tell Eraserhead that you're excused from the rest of the test and tell the Pomeranian that I'll neuter him if he hurts such a pretty face again." Shinsou straight up cackled and promised to relay the message.
We came back in time to see Midoriya walking into the circle with a ball in his hand, looking terrified. Holding the ice pack to my nose, I sidled up to Bakugo and Shinsou stood directly behind me.
"Hey, blasty. The old lady said to tell you she'll cut your balls off if you mess with Ren again."
Bakugo rolled his eyes, gaze landing on the ice pack on my face. "It was your fucking fault but… I'm sorry about your face," he mumbled so that only we could hear. No way was he letting the others hear him apologize.
Smiling, I leaned into him, "It's alright. My nose doesn't really hurt. It's the headache that comes with it that sucks the most but the physical contact helps dull it." He nodded and turned just in time to see Midoriya break his finger tossing the ball.
Shinsou yanked me back seconds before Bakugo started screaming and advancing on the poor boy.
"He might be different around us, short stuff; but it's going to take a lot for him to work through the issues he has with that poor kid. I do not envy him."
The rest of the day was actually quite normal and that suited me just fine. Lunch rolled around and people started clumping into groups. Ochako approached my desk but was immediately cut off by both Bakugo and Shinsou sitting on top of my table.
"I am not dealing with any of these extras at lunch. Let's grab our food and sit outside." I looked to the other boy, rolling my eyes when I saw him nodding in agreement. They dragged me to the lunchroom where we quickly grabbed meals and headed outside.
"You know, I might be socially awkward but you two are socially distant. At least I try! You just avoid social interactions altogether!" I plopped down under a tree and they followed, not saying a word. The silence was comfortable and it was obvious they both needed this respite.
I guess even Bakugo needs quiet time. I choke on my food when Bakugo nonchalantly mentions that they don't avoid me. He, however, acts like nothing was said and keeps eating.
Finishing my food, I observed them both and asked the question that was on my mind. "So, Bakugo, what set you off today with Midoriya was that you were told he doesn't have a quirk, right? Then, today, he suddenly has one."
He paused, giving me some serious side eye. "The fucking nerd NEVER had a quirk and I would have known if he had a powerful one like that shit. He either lied or something weird is going on." He raked his hand through his hair, looking confused and agitated.
Shinsou sighed loudly and we both turned to look at him. "Bakugo, that kid is terrified of you but he obviously tries to be friends with you. What the hell did you do when you were convincing him to not become a hero?"
Thick silence engulfed us after his question. I grabbed both of their hands and laid back, deciding to just observe. I sagged in relief at the physical contact and they did the same.
"Shit. How much is this fucking bond affecting us? I've been wanting to hold your damn hand all day." He flopped down next to me and Shinsou laughed at our antics.
"I bullied him pretty badly and… it got fucking ugly sometimes. I'll have to work on myself before I can even think about trying to rectify that shit storm."
"Alright, come on you two. Let's head back to class before we miss English. Present Mic would lose it if we interrupted his lecture." Shinsou stood up and brushed off his pants, giving us an expectant look.
"Bakugo, I'm glad you realize that you were a shit person to the kid and I totally agree that you, as you are now, would probably mess it all up."
"Oi! You don't think I don't fucking know that! Why the hell do you think I just fucking said I won't talk to him yet! Why the hell are you spouting useless nonsense, zombie?!" He stomped off, leaving us to catch up to him.
As soon as we walked into the classroom, Kaminari and Kirishima approached us. "Hey, we were bummed you guys didn't join our group for lunch! Where did you all end up eating?" Kirishima tossed his arm around my shoulder and Bakugo's, wedging his way between the two of us.
Bakugo growled and threw his arm off aggressively, "Get off me, shitty hair!"
Shinsou glared at the arm around me and yanked me out of his reach causing me to squeak. I turned after his arm dropped and shot him a warm smile.
"We ended up enjoying the fresh air. It's nice to go outside for a bit after all that desk time!" He returned the smile and I headed to my seat, very aware of my two soulmates glaring holes into Kirishima's head.
The redhead sat in front of me, straddling his chair. "Yeah, I totally understand that, Ren-chan! So... just curious but, like, were you three friends before you came to Yuei?" I nodded and then frowned, noticing his eyes shift from me to over my shoulder.
"Shinsou, leave Kirishima alone. He is just being nice." Before either of them could comment, Present Mic sauntered into the room and started the lesson.
It wasn't hard to take notes, I've always taken an interest in learning however, the sudden screams and yells during the lesson had me on edge by the end of the day. Why does he yell so much? There is no way someone can be that excited all the time.
As soon as the bell rang, I threw my head on the desk and groaned. Kirishima chuckled at my antics, "What's got you so messed up, Ren-chan? English is pretty hard, huh?" Groaning I shook my head and started packing up.
"No, English is actually pretty easy for me. I've had a lot of exposure to it. It's sitting so long AND having to put up with the yelling. It works up my anxiety." Shinsou grabbed my bag and walked off, forcing me to chase after him while yelling a quick farewell to Kirishima.
After catching up with him, he refused to give me my bag. I noticed Bakugo following behind us. Grabbing Shinsou's hand, I made him wait up for our third, taking his hand once he caught up with us.
"Oi, shorty. Stay the hell away from that shitty haired bastard."
"I second that. Keep far away." I looked between them and noticed the approving look they were sharing.
"Okay, what the heck am I missing here? Why should I stay away from him? He's super nice!" Bakugo threw his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into his side. He gave me an assessing look before looking over my head.
"How has she not fucking caught on yet?"
I turned to Shinsou, catching him shrugging and looking down at me in exasperation. "For someone who had such a messed-up childhood, she is pure. We don't deserve her."
Bakugo grunted in agreement as I looked between them, completely confused.
"Can one of you please tell me what the heck is so bad about Kirishima? I mean, he is pushy and loud but he seems like a nice guy! He even went out of his way to talk to me several times today… Oh."
The arm around my shoulders tightened, "Do you get it now, shorty?" I nodded and Shinsou chuckled. We parted and went our separate ways, saying we would meet at the same time tomorrow.
The next day, while we were walking to school, something strange happened. I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched and I kept turning around until Shinsou asked me why I was so jumpy. Pulling them both close so only they could hear me, I whispered my concerns.
"Don't react. I can't shake the feeling of being watched and I'm pretty sure I've caught a glimpse of someone in the shadows." I released them and was relieved to see that they were acting natural, but slightly more aware.
I'm glad they know the meaning of subtlety. I don't know if I could handle being around someone who isn't intellectual.
When the school came into view, I almost turned right back around. A group of reporters blocked the entrance, meaning we would have to walk through them to get on campus. Bakugo rolled his eyes and led the way, parting the crowd with his surly attitude.
Shinsou walked directly behind me, not allowing me to slow down or run away. If we weren't moving so fast, I would definitely have an anxiety attack from how claustrophobic this is.
We walked into the classroom and someone grabbed my arm, yanking me to the side. I raised my fist to punch my assailant before realizing it was just Ochako. Her eyes widened when she realized her mistake, instantly releasing.
"Oh my gosh, Ren! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to startle you. I just got excited when I saw you and wanted to talk."
"You're fine, Ochako. Just, maybe announce yourself first or I might actually hit you next time." She gave me a weird look before leading me over to where the other girls were sitting.
"Did you guys talk to any of the reporters?" Mina asked excitedly. I sat on the desk she was sitting in and she jumped up, starting to play with my hair.
"I just told them that I didn't want to be late and that they should talk to an adult if they want answers." Yaoyorozu stated calmly. That is just like her.
"Bakugo scared them all and Shinsou and I just followed his path." The girls laughed and stated that I was lucky to have a buffer like that for these awkward situations. I shrugged and turned to Ochako and Hagakure, asking them what their experience was like. Hagakure said they didn't even notice her, which had all of us comforting her.
Ochako started to stutter and we turned towards her. "I-I mean, I told them th-that it was pretty much like any o-other school. But that having heroes for teachers made it so much easier to focus!"
I laughed at her flushed face, understanding her anxiety. She shot me a grateful smile when I patted her back in solidarity. I feel you, sis.
Iida jumped up and told everyone that we only had three minutes until class started so we all took our seats. I knocked Shinsou's feet out of the chair in front of him and sat down.
"Hey, my feet were taking a nap, short stuff." I rolled my eyes and turned to him, not missing the guffaw Bakugo let out at his declaration.
"Listen here, eyebags. This skirt is not made to have dirt up it and I would appreciate it if you kept your dirty shoes off of the seat that my butt goes on! This outfit is not nearly as protective as yours!" Several of the girls in class chorused their agreement.
Shinsou's cheeks flared pink and his mouth hung open. I reached over and pushed his jaw up, cackling when he finally snapped out of his stupor. I turned around and glanced at Bakugo, noticing that his ears were red.
I guess this is one of those moments where boys will be boys. Just because I mentioned my skirt doesn't mean they have to go stupid with hormones!
Mr. Aizawa dragged himself and his overly large sleeping bag in and class began. He mentioned that he had planned for us to do some two versus two battles today but something came up and they were being postponed. Murmurs of disappointment were quickly shut down by his tired glare.
"Instead, you will all be choosing class representatives. Wake me up when you've made a decision and be done by lunch."
He proceeded to lay down as the class erupted into chaos, everyone yelling over each other to try and be heard. I plopped my head into my hand and watched it all unfold, not even trying to hide my disinterest.
Kirishima turned to me with Denki at his side in an instant. "I think we should all vote for Ren-chan! She seems pretty level-headed."
"No. I refuse the nomination. I would be an awful representative with my anxiety and tendency to avoid difficult situations. Bakugo would not make a good choice, he is too impulsive. Shinsou would literally find a way to avoid every duty that came his way. Todoroki is too antisocial. You and Denki wouldn't think things through properly… Those are the people I think should NOT be class representative."
The room grew quiet and I slunk into my seat, feeling everyone's attention raptly on me. "Your input is greatly appreciated and has given us food for thought, Ren. Going off of Ren's concise detailing of why she won't choose certain people, let us all take a moment to write down the names left and decide who we are voting for. I think it would be wise to think of pros and cons for each available candidate."
Iida took charge and I was so relieved to have most of the eyes off of me. Bakugo gave me a strange look before pulling out a sheet of paper, starting to write immediately.
Kirishima turned around and stared at me with a goofy look on his face. "Ren-chan, you are super cute and smart." He sighed breathily and I turned beat red. A blast aimed at the back of his head had me jumping.
"Oi, shitty hair! Leave her the fuck alone before I blast your ass!"
"Kirishima, you can't write your nomination on Ren's forehead. I suggest you turn around and focus on the task at hand," Shinsou stated calmly. Somehow his sentence seemed more menacing than Bakugo's.
I felt my chair get nudged so I turned around, glaring at the tired boy. He didn't say anything, just stared at me for a moment before returning to his task. Um, that was weird. First, he gets my attention, then he just ignores me. Boys are strange.
I folded my paper neatly and stood up, walking it over to Iida. "You seem like the most adult-like teenager here. You have my vote. Here is my slip with my two nominations."
Power. Play. I hope this has others voting for him. No one else could keep us all in line.
Others started giving him their slips and the votes were quickly tallied up. Midoriya and Iida tied for class representative and Momo easily won deputy representative. Midoriya quickly bowed out, stammering about how he wouldn't be a good fit for this particular role.
As he went to sit down, Bakugo gave him a terse nod and the timid boy almost tripped trying to return the gesture. Ah, Bakugo is REALLY trying to not explode at everything the poor boy does. It's still clear he was pissed that Midoriya was chosen.
