It's the perfect time to write since it'll be raining for a few days. Ah, if only I had hot cocoa, alas, I will settle for coffee and a Villain Deku playlist lol. Chapter Seven

There was a little inconspicuous note, not even a letter, but a blue post-it note.

Had to travel by myself and improve on my own. I hope you'll understand.

-Gary

While many parts of Ash felt angry, indignant, and disappointed, one small piece of her whispered relief. While she was upset that Gary couldn't tell her how he felt in person, she even packed food for him after all, she was relieved because he was no longer in a dangerous position because of what she may do.

This is a good thing, there are too many dangerous spots Sauron and I wanted to check out. They wanted to be trapped in Grandpa Cayon to get a few dino 'mon. as well as invading the Team Rocket base. Both of which would be difficult if a regular teenager came with.

While I did feel guilty for these thoughts, I decided it was for the best. If Gary wanted to have a journey of self-discovery, I wasn't going to chase him down. It was his choice and I wasn't going to question it.

I am still a little miffed that he couldn't tell me face-to-face though.

Sighing, I grabbed the post-it note and shoved it into my orange backpack while ignoring Sauron's indignant comments and focused on the youngest member of my team.

"Frodo, do you want to walk with us or stay in your Pokeball?"

The fire type gestured to his surroundings and I took that as he wanted to walk with us. Either way, it didn't hurt me. If anything, this may allow him to gain some experience and exercise.

"Then, I guess our next stop will be Viridian City." With that, my team and I headed out, our backs turned to the tree that had Gary and I's initials etched into the wood.

We've only been walking or floating in Sauron's case, for a few hours before I finally saw Viridian City. It was the closest city to Pallet Town, but it had something Deliah got for me. Hopefully, it wasn't just some clothes or whatnot. I could never understand the point of getting someone clothes as a gift when they already had enough.

Looking out to the city, I saw a small sign with wildflowers underneath it.

The Eternally Green Paradise

Honestly, it wasn't a bad name. It was true from what I was seeing. There was a lot of green speckled with wildflowers. There were three connecting mountains in the background, with skyscrapers itching towards the front. There was even a large lake near me, with a few people littering the body of water with fishing poles.

It wasn't a bad location, however, I cautiously returned to Frodo. I heard that this city had a lot of theft and Charmander's were rare. This was basically the capital of Team Rocket, however, they tried to disguise it.

I wanted to make this trip quick, grab the gift Deliah got me, spend the night at the Pokecenter, and leave.

Should've known that anything can go wrong.

Sauron and I were walking side-by-side with each other, one of the only times where Sauron didn't follow directly behind me. It was a weird habit of his but it was one I never commented on. He barely listened to my request to be next to me in case we got in trouble.

The streets were filled with civilians and common Pokemon, there were a few uncommon ones spotted here and there, but there were no rare ones. There weren't many Pokemon trainers either since it was the beginning of Tournament season and Viridian Gym was the last gym to go through so most of the ones here were seasoned and experienced.

Surprisingly though, it seemed like Sauron wanted to battle them, he almost seemed to be vibrating in excitement every time we walked past a trainer. I understood his line of thought but we needed to grab the gift from the city's gym first, then we could battle at the Pokecenters battlegrounds.

Finally, our path stopped at the front of the Viridian City Gym. A water fountain and marble stairs greeted us with large wooden doors closed. With Sauron inching closer to me, we walked into the Lion's Den. Hopefully, this will be a short pickup.

This gym has the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen. Sauron and I have been waiting for two hours since the Gym Assistant told us it'd take them a minute to grab Deliah's gift. Sauron seemed more agitated than I, if we waited any longer then he may lose the chance to battle more experienced trainers. I checked my Pokedex and noted the time was 5:17 PM, which was already almost dinner time by my standards.

Finally, the obnoxious sound of high heels clicking filled the quiet waiting room.

Looking up, I saw a woman who seemed to be 6'5 with the tall stilettos she was wearing. She was already naturally tall, but her heels made her seem more intimidating. She had blue hair with yellow eyes, with dark golden brown skin, she wasn't wearing makeup, but she was beautiful and looked to be in her mid-30's.

"Your package will be with you shortly, do you require anything else?" She said, her voice clipped.

I shook my head, I just wanted to get out of here already.

With my response, the woman nodded, before doing a hand gesture to her minion before strutting away.

Her minion hurried towards me, holding out a great ball. Once I grabbed it, the man ran after his boss.

Huh, I guess my visit was meaningful.

Ready to walk out, I bumped into a wall. Cursing in my mind, I looked up and saw the leader of Team Rocket, Giovanni himself, looking down at me. As the main character, I should've expected this kind of interaction.

"I'm sorry, I'll be heading out now," I said cooly, inwardly patting myself on the back for not freaking out.

The man said nothing, he just stared down at me but even as I walked away, I felt his gaze on my back.

Time to head to the PokeCenter and pick a fight with some random person.

Wow, another chapter is done. If only I had this much dedication for biology, maybe then I would've liked it. Next year, I'm going to dedicate myself to chemistry, I promise lol. So, Ash is finally on the road but who will be her human companions? Lemme know before she leaves Viridian City.

Here's the Pokemon Ash has and their moveset.

Aegislash (Sauron): Swords Dance, Iron Head, Shadow Ball, Close Combat, Sacred Sword, and King's Shield.

Charmander (Frodo): Growl, Scratch, and Ember.

*Frodo has Prolonged Evolution Disorder which as the name states, he will not be a Charizard until MUCH later. However, think of it like this, slow and steady will win the race or battle in his case.

I saw your question and I accidentally made the mistake of not placing the move King's Shield. Thank you for letting me know, I appreciate it. The reason I made Sauron not have 100+ moves is because I had a thought of making professional battling more of a modern thing. Sauron is old, so he wasn't a professional battler in the past when he was partnered with a literal king. He'll definitely learn more moves while he's with Ash and he'll learn the values of friendship and love with her as well.

If anyone has any more questions, I'll be happy to answer. Thank you for reading!
