Weirdhead: Leo is a simp for his girlfriend and any disagreement is silly because we all Know.
Undeath9087: Festus still has to get destroyed to be a part of the Argo II. Which like, poor Leo loves his baby and we all know how it'll end. And yes, poor Calypso. She's kinda luckier than in cannon- she's in camp surrounded by people who understand and she's making friends- but then her boyfriend gets snatched by Hera and then he's getting sent off on a quest right when he gets back.
Guest: Oh it's no problem- it just hasn't been discussed yet and it won't really come up until the minific- though it did mention that Nico's closed himself off a lot lately after Percy's death. And I can't answer those questions right now because spoilers I'm afraid.
The Official Clarisse: Yeah they have, largely because you have Annabeth, who is a genius, and Leo, who is also a genius- and Leo actually knows shit in this AU. I mean, think about it. He figured out the Jason situation first in cannon, and he doesn't know nearly that much about myths. A Leo who does know is gonna be much better placed to figure stuff out. Plus he's more confident.
Drizzle: I mean, Leo just wants to comfort his girlfriend, you can't blame him :)
PJ Fan 285: I love getting huge reviews they always make me smile, anyway, there's a lot of stuff I can't go into too much because of spoilers, but your first question about Percy's trauma, no it hasn't just gone away exactly, but I imagine that in Elysium stuff like that just sort of fades if you understand what I mean. After all, there's no triggers, it's safe, happy, and Percy's free from the pressure and Alabaster. She's got a lot of good stuff going on. So if she's in Elysium the trauma doesn't really get to her too much. With the curses, I figure the mark of Achilles is still there, but again it doesn't really mean much in Elysium, who needs to be invulnerable in death, she's not exactly fighting too often. And with Calypso she made the curse during her time trapped on the Island in cannon. Did our Cal do that? We shall see.
Black' Victor Cachat: I'm glad you like it! And neither of them see it as that dangerous really. The only reason Leo would break it would be if he was dead in which case breaking it would kinda not matter as much 'cause he's dead.
Leo did not like early mornings- he was not a morning person- an all night person sometimes yes, but not a morning one- but thankfully he'd mentioned to Beckendorf that he needed to be up by six to meet Piper and Jason to discuss the quest before they left.
Which was why Leo found himself being shaken awake by his older brother- and he groaned, as he threw up a hand to block out the light of the torch that Beckendorf shone in Leo's face. "G'way."
"You told me to wake you up." Beckendorf sounded amused, though he pitched his voice low so that he could avoid waking their siblings. "You said you had a meeting with Jason and Piper."
"Ugh." Leo groaned as he pushed himself out of bed, "Have I ever mentioned that I hate quests?"
"Once or twice." Beckendorf gave a small smile, holding up a backpack, "I packed this for you last night, figured you had other things on your mind-"
"Lifesaver." Leo took the bag from his brother. "You gonna be okay looking after everything here? Your arm-"
"Is fully functioning." Beckendorf snorted, "I don't need anymore upgrades and if there's any issues Nyssa has the plans and she can do basic repairs- besides I'm getting used to working one handed when I'm not wearing it and when I am wearing it it's as good as my real hand ever was- good enough that I'm going to go to college next year-"
"Awesome." Leo stifled a yawn as he started tugging his shoes on. "Seriously, good for you bro. Is Silena-"
"She's going to go to college with me." Beckendorf smiled softly, "Can I let you in on a secret, before you go?"
"What is it?"
"I'm thinking of proposing." Beckendorf gave a soft smile that was incredibly in love, "I know we're young but we've been together for well over a year and I love her."
"That's awesome." Leo gave a goofy grin, more awake at that, "She'll totally say yes- she stuck with you through everything-"
"I know." Beckendorf looked at his bronze arm, curling and uncurling the fingers. "I was lucky to survive that day and I want to spend every single day from now on with her."
"You're almost as sappy Annabeth and Rachel or Will and Nico." Leo grinned, "Couldn't be like it myself I'm far too cool for that-"
"I'm sorry but I've been in the same room as you and your girlfriend before and you are definitely not too cool for that. She might be but you aren't-"
"Everyone bullies me." Leo grabbed a coat and tugged it on before he slung his bag over his shoulder, "Listen, I dunno if we'll be waiting to say goodbye too everyone before we leave or if we'll be going right away- I'm taking Festus-"
"That makes sense." Beckendorf nodded, "You gonna make sure you have enough to keep your pride and joy happy.
"I have lots of motor oil and tabasco-"
"You really do love that dragon-"
"Of course I do. We've been through a lot together." Leo grinned proudly, "We held off a freaking Drakon-"
"I remember being told about that." Beckendorf snorted, "I thought I was going to have a heart attack. You got your toolbelt-"
"I literally sleep with it most of the time." Leo pointed out with a laugh, "Of course I have it." he patted the belt, "My magical
awesome belt. Listen while I'm gone can you look after-"
"I'll keep it clean and clear." Beckendorf looked amused- and they both knew what Leo was talking about.
Bunker 9 was their little secret. They'd discovered it during the dragon fiasco and it was where they'd rebuilt the dragon together- though Leo had done most of the work with Beckendorf supervising- the older of the two brothers had very quickly realised that Leo felt some sort of connection with the dragon and he'd had no intention of messing with that.
The fates had wanted Leo to have Festus, maybe what was happening now was the reason. In any case they hadn't told anyone else- it was mostly Leo's truthfully, Beckendorf preferred the forges because Silena came by often but Leo liked the Bunker- it was somewhere where he could just get completely lost in his work- admittedly Beckendorf often had to show up and come and drag him out of there for food but it was definitely his fortress.
After a quick hug and a promise to be careful Leo was heading out of his cabin and he spotted Jason already sat out of his cabin by the hearth, a bag slung over his shoulder- presumably a gift from Thalia, and he was staring into the flames, clearly distracted.
"Hey Lightning McQueen-" and Jason twisted, giving Leo a confused look.
"Huh?"
"Oh I am gonna have so much fun with you." Leo snickered, "So, did you sleep well?"
"No. I had a weird dream." Jason shook his head, "Thalia did ask me about it but- I dunno-"
"If you feel up to it you can talk to me." Leo offered, "When you're ready."
"Thanks." Jason shifted slightly, "I think I've been where they're holding Hera but I don't actually know where it is and I doubt Thalia will be able to help because it was probably after I was taken away. There was a wolf- a she-wolf. I know her somehow. Lupa."
"Huh." Leo frowned, "The name sounds familiar." he admitted, "We'll figure it out-"
"How?" Jason groaned, "I've been granted a quest and I don't even know where I should start."
"Lucky for you I do." Leo gave a crooked grin, "I talked to Annabeth, she helped me figure some stuff out but I'll explain everything when Piper gets out here."
"Sounds like a plan." Jason looked relieved, "You know how we're travelling?"
"Yep, it's all figured out. We'll be travelling in style."
"Thank the gods. Honestly I- I'm glad you're coming too. I know I don't exactly know you well but you definitely know what you're doing and I don't think I could do this without that at the moment."
"You'd figure it out." Leo gave a small shrug, "You do what you have to do when you're put in that sorta situation. But I'm more than
willing to help you figure things out."
"So how much experience do you have?" Jason's voice was curious, "I mean-"
"A fair bit." Leo shrugged, "Like I said before I found out about being a demigod at thirteen, I kinda got kidnapped- that wasn't fun and it's a long story but I got rescued." he reached up, tugging absent-mindedly at the streak of gray in his hair, "And then I was adopted. Then six months later I went on my first real quest. And I've been on a few less important ones since then and I helped a lot during the war."
"Against the Titans." Jason nodded slowly, "What- what was it like?"
"Honestly, terrifying. We all knew we were totally outnumbered but someone had to protect Olympus while the gods were otherwise engaged."
"What were they fighting Saturn- Kronos I mean." and Leo frowned- Jason kept slipping up and saying the wrong names- and he paused.
"Isn't that what the Romans called him?"
"I-" Jason faltered, "I don't know-"
"You keep slipping up." Leo eyed Jason curiously, "And you spoke Latin."
"I don't know why." Jason suddenly looked frustrated, "None of this feels new to me exactly it just feels wrong-"
"We'll figure it out." Leo laid a hand on Jason's shoulder, "We'll figure it out dude. Don't strain yourself." Roman... it had something to do with Romans Leo was sure. It was just the details that he didn't know right now. "Anyway, to answer your question no, they were fighting Typhon- only managed to beat him because Lord Poseidon showed up and saved the day. No. We had to take on Kronos."
Leo's expression darkened. "And we-" he shook his head, "I wasn't there in the end. I don't-"
"But you're demigods." Jason's expression turned confused, "No offence I mean, I'm sure you're all good but Kronos is a Titan."
"It's not something any of us enjoy talking about." Leo's voice was stiff. "But Percy, Luke and Ethan were alone in the throne room with him at the end Luke and Ethan were the ones who came out. That's all that matters." he remembered seeing Luke sat there, clutching Percy close to him, remembered that sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach.
No, none of them liked remembering what had happened that day. Even if none of them were able to forget no matter how hard they
might try.
"That-" Jason looked confused, "I-" he shook his head, "I- I feel like the gods.. I don't know."
"Don't push yourself dude." Leo shook off the tension, giving a goofy grin, "You'll remember when you're ready to remember, don't strain yourself or you'll melt your brain-"
"Oh that's real comforting." Jason's lips twitched, "You're real good at soothing a person you know that?"
"Rude." Leo shoved Jason lightly, "I am a delight."
"You think you're so funny-"
"Oh I do." Leo snickered, "For example, my dear friend- your reaction to Piper's makeover-" and Jason went a brilliant shade of red at that.
"Leo, I like you well enough but I swear to the gods if you don't shut up I will brutally murder you."
"Awe, you sound just like Thalia when I make fun of her." Leo grinned, tossing an arm around Jason's shoulder, "Relax dude- if you like her that's fine- but if you do hurt her I will break every bone in your body and burn you alive- and that's if Drew doesn't get to you first since Drew seems to have taken to her."
"Dude-"
"Okay- okay, so the breaking your bones threat is probably empty." Leo grinned, "I'm pretty sure you could take me in a fight but I can literally burst into flames, I'm pretty badass myself."
"I'm sure you are- you were pretty good with those wings-"
"I always wear them." Leo admitted, "I've been improving them since the first time I wore them-"
"Wore what?" Both boys turned around at the voice, and Leo grinned when he spotted Piper making her way towards them- she'd changed into a pair of jeans and a tee with a thick jacket.
"My wings-"
"Oh those." Piper grinned, "Please tell me you have more of them,"
"Sure, I can give you both a set if you want-"
"That would be cool." Jason admitted as Piper reached them. "Hey Piper-"
"Hi Jason." Piper's face was slightly flushed and she looked away- her hair and makeup still looked perfect but she did look more like herself now that she'd gotten changed. "Hey Leo. So, this quest. Drew's explained a lot of stuff to me. I'm as ready as I'll ever be now. So uh- what do we do now?"
"First we need to talk about where we're going." Leo stated firmly, "And how we're travelling there. I talked to Annabeth. I think I know what's coming and we need to be prepared."
"What do you think's coming then?" Jason asked, "It's something to do with the Great Prophecy we were told about. We're a part of it right?"
"Yeah." Leo took a deep breath, "Gaea, the Earth. Annabeth, Rache and I think she's rising or something- maybe waking up-" and Leo forced back a distant memory- a woman with closed eyes- that day with his mother- clothes made of earth- of dirt. Had that been her? He could remember what she'd told him- he'd never forgotten a single moment of that day. Of the nightmare.
And- if it had been her. If it had been Gaea then she'd been right- if her children, the giants were trying to wake her then he was going to stop them. He was going to stop the monster that murdered his mother no matter what.
"Gaea? We- we have to fight the Earth?" Piper's voice was slightly high, and Leo nodded, looking between his two quest mates.
"And her children. The Giants, created to oppose the gods as revenge for the first defeat of the Titans. A giant can only be killed by a god and a demigod working together." Leo told them both.
"Oh this should be good." Jason let out a breath, "Isn't Olympus shut down?"
"Yep." Leo pulled a face, "And we're going to have to fight at least one to save Hera."
