Chapter 10

After talking a little more, we agreed to not tell anyone - yet - that we were soulmates for safety reasons. We might be in a school for heroes but that didn't mean everyone stayed the course.

We would tell people that we were good friends and just trying to figure things out, not necessarily dating but not available. I think the boys were more worried about this than I was, wanting others to know that I wasn't on the market.

We walked to class with our hands intertwined and I could not focus, I was a hot mess and it showed. Bakugo was teasing me incessantly about my red face and I ended up smacking him.

"Oi, what the hell was that? I know you can hit harder than that." Growling unintelligibly, I stomped off, trying to put distance between me and the laughing male.

Entering the classroom, I made a beeline for Mina's desk and plopped on top of it, not even caring that Kirishima was staring at my bare legs.

"Mina, I need some girl time! When are you moving in?" She about lost her mind and we decided that all the girls would eat lunch together today. They all agreed and Kirishima started whining, throwing an arm around our shoulders.

"Awe, I want to join in on girl talk!" I pushed his head to dislodge him and glanced up as my boys walked in, deep in conversation. They both frowned when they saw me basically fighting the redhead off like a rabid dog. I let him go and he glomped back on me but was quickly yanked back by the yelling blond.

We all ignored them and started planning out where we would sit for lunch. We didn't want the boys trying to snoop on us. Yaoyorozu spoke up, saying there was a table that was slightly off to the side, closer to the teacher's table.

We decided on that and I hopped into my seat right before Mr. Aizawa dragged himself in. Kirishima reached back, a note clutched between his fingers. I discreetly grabbed it, not missing the glare Bakugo shot our way or the wink Mina threw my way.

I almost didn't read it but curiosity had me dying. The note was from Kaminari and I almost busted out laughing at his cheesy pick up line, asking if I wanted to hang out after class.

Mr. Aizawa popped up right next to me and I released a god-awful screech, throwing up a leg and an arm in defense.

The class burst into laughter as I apologized profusely, handing over the note without even being asked for it. He opened it and proceeded to read it, I snorted as his eyes grew round. When he shot me another glare, I couldn't help but explain myself.

"I think I had the same reaction as you did. It's super cheesy, right?" If he wasn't too worried about his image, I think he would have laughed.

"Kaminari, no passing notes. Detention after classes. Ren, if you accept another note, you'll be next." Nodding my head vigorously, I mouthed a quick thank you to him and turned forward.

It took every ounce of my self-control not to throw my pencil at Mina as she wiggled her eyebrows at me behind the teacher's back.

Lunch couldn't come soon enough. When the bell rang, releasing us from our prison, I grabbed Hagakure and we absolutely booked it to our designated table - being the designated table holders. The others joined us after grabbing us food, Yaoyorozu buying us what we had requested.

"Alright, girl!" Mina squealed. "Tell us what's on your mind."

I buried my head in my hands and said one word. Boys.

The girls were instantly all over it, wanting more details ASAP. Before I could think of how to word my woes, Kirishima popped up begging to join us. Mina quite literally chased him off with a spoon full of something he clearly hated. I've never seen someone run away so quickly.

"Ugh, okay, so you all obviously have eyes and can see how much I hang out with Bakugo and Shinsou. Well… it's complicated and I just need to talk to someone about it!"

The girls leaned in, all ears. "So, I like both of them and they both like me but we've decided to just… take it slow. But they're teenage boys, so what does slow even mean?! I've never done this before and I am SO IN OVER MY HEAD!"

Tsu gave me a strange look before asking if the three of us were soulmates. Remembering what we had decided, I lied and told them that we were just good friends trying to navigate a possible relationship without rushing into things too quickly. A few of them gave me skeptical looks but moved on.

"This is more complicated than most relationships seeing as there are three of you," Yaoyorozu stated. "But maybe we should just look at it from the perspective of a normal one. For instance, starting off slow without any sort of label would mean you three would date. Go out and get to know each other better in different settings."

Mina nodded sagely before jumping up and throwing her thoughts out.

"They are so different from each other that choosing a date might be hard. You should each come up with a date idea, like you each plan a whole date out. And moving slow is different for everyone. I mean, my parents got married after knowing each other for eight months! Their best friends waited eight years before making the jump. So, just take it slow and if they do something you don't like, tell them to hold up!"

I nodded, feeling so much better just having gotten my thoughts out of my mind. If I let them stew any longer, I would turn into an anxious mess. Hagakure jumped in with a suggestion that seemed pretty smart to all of us.

"You should do something like twenty questions with each other. But make up specific rules so that it can be really fun while helping figure out what the other is expecting."

We all glanced over at the boys and saw them all seemingly just as serious as we were and I was dying to know what they were talking about. Mina promised that either Kirishima or Kaminari would spill the deets. Jiro tapped my shoulder, gaining my attention.

"If it were me, I think I would determine what taking it slow meant for everyone, so that you can all be on the same wavelength. Like, does taking it slow for them mean not getting attached quickly or not having intimate relations."

I turned beet red and so did she. "Yeah, thanks Jiro, that's a good idea."

We all headed back to class and took our seats, being completely caught off guard when All Might rushed through the door.

"I am coming through the door, like a normal person!"

That is not how normal people come through the door. But you do you, Dad Might. I couldn't help but snicker at my own thoughts, earning some weird looks from my peers.

"Today we will be doing some battle training! Your hero outfits are completed, so suit up!"

Everyone started freaking out, running to grab their suitcases from up front. I waited a minute and let the crowd disperse some before going to retrieve mine. Shinsou nudged me and said something about being excited to see my outfit but I couldn't really hear him.

Any time either of the boys got close to me today, I just kind of went stupid. So, I did what any brain addled girl would do, I ran off and left him very confused.

The girls got dressed quickly and then admired one another's outfits, commenting on the small details. My outfit was a sleek black one piece that was cut like a bathing suit, the back stopping right above my butt.

Red shorts went on top with a small black pouch holding emergency gear attached to it. The opening of the pouch was stitched in red and resembled an X. My shoes were red and black high tops with reinforced steel soles, for that extra oomph when kicking someone.

Walking out of the locker room, the boys were already way ahead of us, waiting in front of All Might outside. We rushed over to the group and, thankfully, All Might started talking before the boys could start commenting.

"Today we will be going to Ground Beta and having two on two battles." We rushed over making small talk along the way.

Kirishima sidled up to me before anyone else could and forced me to twirl.

"Girl, you look good!" Kaminari came up on my other side and asked if I had a response to his note from earlier today.

"While I admire your bravery, Kaminari, I'm not exactly available." When they asked if I had a boyfriend and I denied it, they were both very confused. That is, until Bakugo and Shinsou elbowed them out of their respective spots.

"It's complicated you damn extras, so back off!"

Two warm hands landing on my bare back, one slightly overlapping the other, had me turning red all over again.

"You look hot, short stuff." Shinsou whispered, eyes lazily taking in my appearance.

"I second that. But why the hell do you have to show so much skin?" Bakugo growled, quickly tracing my spine with his fingertips.

"Stop freaking distracting me and I'll tell you," I mumbled into my hands. They each took a hand and laced their fingers with mine, looking extremely smug.

I laughed when I realized that the base to each of our uniforms was basically a black bodysuit, Bakugo's highlighted with red and Shinsou's with a white scarf and purple stitching.

"So, when I use my forcefield as body armor, I use up less energy when I don't have to cover up clothing. The more skin I show, the easier it is for me to basically waste zero energy on protecting myself. That being said, this outfit here is pushing my comfort zone. I don't think I'll be modifying it to have more exposed."

"Oh, thank fuck," Bakugo mumbled and I burst out laughing.

All Might led us into a building that would allow us to watch all the fights and quickly placed us in groups. I zoned out as soon as I heard that me and Sero were up against Mina and Aoyama.

This would be a piece of cake. I gave him a look and we fist bumped, knowing that we had the upper hand because of my quirk.

The first fight was brutal. Bakugo lost it when Midoriya wouldn't use his quirk and started an all-out fist fight. At the end, he threw Midoriya over his shoulder and limped with him to the infirmary, cursing the entire way.

"You better learn to use that fucking quirk you useless nerd. I refuse to go easy on your ass just because you don't have a handle on it. I'll beat it out of you if I fucking have to. Don't make me become your fucking personal bully again just to toughen you the fuck up."

Midoriya was crying, bawling his eyes out and chattering a mile-a-minute, not caring that we all heard how much he adored his childhood frenemy.

"Oi, get it the fuck together, nerd! If you get snot on me, I will fucking throw you the rest of the way there!"

The rest of the matches went by much smoother, including mine and Sero's. We kicked some serious butt. It wasn't really a fair fight since we just used my shield to walk straight up to the bomb and take it.
