Chapter 24

Gohan was sitting up on his hospital bed, facing the wall and stared at nothing with fish dead eyes and dark circles underneath them, all he heard was a continuous eeeeeeeeeeeng similar to what electronic produces when currents collide

How dare they, how dare the world. take his favorite blanket

The half-Saiyan was on the tipping point of going ballistic, he wanted to throw a destructive and dangerous tantrum until someone, anyone returned his Piccolo, his ideas ricochet in all surfaces in the sanctum of his mind, already ticking of boxes on how to get his mentor back

Goku couldn't move as every inch of his external body was wrapped in bandages, his arms and legs raised by straps, but clearly sensed his son's gloom and doom disposition

"Hey son" the father called gently

Gohan didn't move nor respond

" I heard from Krillin that you" Goku paused searching for a better sentence to use

" Punched those bad guys for Piccolo "

Faint sobbing and sniffing echoed through their small hospital room

" Do you want to come here and talk about it? " the Saiyan invited securely

The young lad lifelessly made his way towards his Dad's bed and curled up beside him, tears unable to stop

" I'm, I'm scared Dad" Gohan uttered in between sobs and hiccups

" what are you scared of? " Goku patiently urge his son to keep talking

"Everything"

" I don't want this anymore, everything hurts, I feel scared and alone, I just want him back "

Gohan felt like a helpless new born that was abruptly removed from the secureness of his mother's warmth and soothing heartbeat, his anxiety was of a baby rabbit thrown in a ring occupied by hundreds of rabid and hungry hunting dogs

He was vulnerable and bare without his Mentor

The Saiyan discern his son's untamed flickering Ki and desperate scent, Goku understands what it feels like to lose someone, how overwhelming it was, how it can rattle you until you no longer grasp your sanity

"We'll find a way to get him back here Gohan" He promised tone light but serious

The half Saiyan stared at him eyes wide with an unreadable expression, dark irises a deep void and never ending
