Chapter twelve

Harry, Luna and Colin were given notes to go to the headmistress office right after dinner. Harry and Luna were calm, Colin was a nervous wreck.

'It's probably about what you saw and did Colin and you did the right thing, so it's all good, don't worry.'

'I've never been asked to the headmaster's office before, even if it's the headmistress now.'

'Don't worry Colin, you saved me,' Luna gave him a smile.

Sirius was waiting near the gargoyle's, 'I thought I would tell you Ginny was also expelled. The last spell that showed up on her wand was the cruciatus curse.'

Harry growled as he tightened his hold on his girlfriend, 'What's going to happen now?'

'Madam Bones is here, she just wants to see your memories of what happened.'

'I didn't see anything, just felt Colin push me out of the way, even though I didn't know it was Colin at the time.'

'I know Luna, so does Madam Bones, but she wants to see from the three different perspectives,' Sirius led the way upstairs where the headmistress along with two aurors and Madam Bones was waiting, 'I explained Madam Bones.'

'Do you know how to remove a memory?'

Luna and Colin shook their heads, but Harry nodded, 'I showed Harry how when we came here to use the pensieve,' Sirius explained.

'Then if you could remove yours first Mr. Potter and place it in the pensieve.'

Harry nodded then concentrate on the memory of Luna. He placed his wand at his temple then slowly pulled the memory away and lowered it into the pensieve.

'As you just saw Mr. Creevey, Miss Lovegood, it's quite easy. You just need to think of the memory you want to remove. If you can Mr. Creevey, try to concentrate on just as you stood up to leave the class until the headmistress arrived on the scene. If you need help, then I will assist.'

'You can do it Colin,' Harry said giving him a smile.

Colin nodded, nervously, but he closed his eyes and thought of the memory he needed. He placed his wand at his temple and felt like he was pulling something from his head. When he opened his eyes he saw the silver strand coming away from his head. His hands shook but Luna helped steady him as he placed it in the pensieve. Luna went next and she also placed her memory in the pensieve.

'Now, just for the record, could you tell me what you saw Mr. Creevey?'

'I was walking behind Luna and we just stepped out of the classroom when I saw a red beam of light heading towards Luna. I pushed her out of the way, I didn't even stop to think I might have hurt her. I'm sorry Luna.'

'You saved me Colin, you have nothing to be sorry about.'

'And did you see who sent the spell at Miss Lovegood?'

'Ginny…um, Ginny Weasley. She looked really angry.'

'Miss Lovegood, tell me what you saw?'

'I never saw the spell Ma'am, I just felt someone push me in the back then Harry was holding me.'

'Mr. Potter, what did you see?'

'I was walking towards the defence classroom to meet Luna and I just turned to that corridor when I saw Luna fall. I saw a red spell fly over Luna's head then I saw Colin with his hand out like he pushed Luna but I didn't see him do it. Then Colin had his wand pointed away from us and towards the right. I grabbed Luna to make sure she was alright then I looked at who Colin was pointing his wand at. It was Ginny Weasley and she had her wand pointed at Luna.'

'If you three will sit, I will watch your memories along with senior Auror Proudfoot.'

Sirius conjured three chairs for the teenagers so they could sit, he sat beside his godson.

'What will happen now Professor?' Harry asked.

'Since Miss Weasley did use an unforgivable, she was instantly expelled. Since she is only thirteen, then she will not go to Azkaban. Madam Bones will question her using the child approved veritaserum. If she meant to harm Miss Lovegood then she will have her magic bound for up to ten years. If she meant only to scare Miss Lovegood then she may be bound to her home until she is an adult. Either way she will never be able to own a wand again.'

'Did the twins explained how she was…well, obsessed with me?'

'They explained pup.'

'It all started when I saved her in the chamber of secrets. I know Ron has a temper so I was expecting him to do something I just wasn't sure about Ginny. And even though I want to hex Ginny for trying to hurt Luna, maybe she was affected by being possessed by Voldemort.'

'Did Albus get a mind healer for Ginny, Minerva?' Sirius asked.

'Not as far as I know. He never got a mind healer for Mr. Potter after what happened to Quirrell, so I doubt it.'

'Harry told me what happened in the chamber and how Ginny almost died. She was always happy before she came to Hogwarts,' Luna said sadly.

'I will speak with Mr. and Mrs. Weasley and organise a mind healer for Miss Weasley. Either way, she will still be expelled for using an unforgivable.'

'I get that and she should have some punishment, I just figured it was worth mentioning the chamber.' Harry sighed.

'I am glad you did.'

Amelia and her auror emerged from the memory, 'Harry had a theory about Ginny,' Sirius said.

'He reminded me that Ginny was possessed by Voldemort during her first year here. She was taken into the chamber of secrets, where Mr. Potter saved her. We believe she should have seen a mind healer,' Minerva said.

'I may need to see the memory of that before I can make my final decision.'

Everyone looked at Harry, 'It's a long memory Ma'am.'

'Then if you don't mind, I will take it back to my office to view it there, but it will be returned once I have finished my investigation. I will need to take these memories with me, just to have an unspeakable verify they have not been tampered with, even though I know they are not.'

Harry thought about the chamber of secrets and decided to start the memory from when he entered Myrtle's bathroom. He slowly pulled away a very long silver memory and was directed to place it in a vial that Madam Bones was holding.

'Alright you three, you can leave, just please do not speak about this as Madam Bones is still in the middle of her investigation.'

'We promise,' the three teenagers said together before they left.

'Since we've got time Colin, how about you pick a picture and…' Harry sighed, 'I'll sign it for you.'

'Really?' Colin grinned hugely before he nodded the raced off to Gryffindor tower.

'I hope I don't regret this.'

Luna kissed Harry's cheek, 'He saved me and having you sign a picture is what Colin wants more than anything. He deserves a reward.'

Harry nodded, 'Yeah, he does, I'm glad he saw what she was going to do and pushed you out of the way.'

'So am I, especially now I know what spell she was going to use,' Luna tightened her hold on Harry's hand, 'Do you think she wanted to hurt me, or scare me?'

Harry sighed, 'Knowing how obsessed she was, I believe she wanted to hurt you. She must have realised it would make me hate her if she hurt you.'

'Which tells me she isn't in her right mind Harry.'

'Dumbledore made so many mistakes, not getting Ginny a mind healer could cost her from ever owning a wand again.'

Colin skidded to a halt in front of Harry with a picture and quill in his hand. He held them out to Harry.

Harry gave Colin a smile before he took the picture, 'This is actually a good picture Colin. I don't own any pictures of myself, could you make me a copy?'

'Sure, it doesn't take long. You can go through the others if you want. I have some with you and others, like Ron and Hermione, some with Neville, or just when you sit at the lake.'

'I'll sort out some time to go through them,' Harry smiled when Luna bent over so he could use her back. He wrote, "To my good friend Colin, thanks, I own you one, your friend always, Harry Potter." He handed it to Colin who seemed to sway. He hugged Harry then with tears in his eyes, ran back to Gryffindor tower.

'I think you made his year Harry,' Luna smile.

'Yeah, it's the least I can do,' Harry put his arm around his girlfriend and walked off down the corridor. They found Neville sitting with Hannah at the Hufflepuff table, so they joined him.

'So what did McGonagall want?' Neville asked.

'Um, we can't go right into it yet, as Madam Bones is investigating, but she was expelled.'

'You saw my aunt?' Susan asked curiously.

'Yeah, a crime was committed so she was here investigating. She seems nice and knows what she's doing.'

'Aunty Amelia is wonderful, but she's a great auror even if she doesn't actually work as an auror anymore.'

'So your godfather is now our teacher,' Hannah said.

'Yeah and his cousin's husband is the potions teacher.'

'We had Professor Tonks earlier, he's great. He actually explained everything so we know why we had to crush or chop the ingredient,' Hannah said.

'Snape is a great defence against the dark arts teacher. He even took points from his own house, which shocked them. He knows his potions, he just couldn't seem to teach that subject, but he's brilliant at defence. I believe things are looking up.'

'Now we just have to get rid of Binns and all our classes will be good,' Susan said.

'A new history of magic teach begins tomorrow,' Sirius said as he stopped behind Harry, 'My cousin, so there will be two Professor Tonks's. Neville, I should warn you though, Andromeda, who is a great person and one of the good ones from my family. Well, she looks like her sister.'

'Um, why would you need to warn me about that Professor?'

'Andromeda is sister to Narcissa Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange. She was cast out of the family when she married a muggleborn, Ted. She has not spoken to either of her sisters since they joined Voldemort.'

'Oh, okay, I'm glad you told me sir.'

Sirius patted Neville on the shoulder before he gave his godson a hug then headed up to the staff table. Harry also patted Neville on the shoulder before he dished himself up some lunch.
