The father was vaguely taken a back, both by the fact his son called Piccolo evil and the indirect admittance that the boy already planned on getting the Namekian back

" Was, yes he was Evil, but I think he deserves a second chance, don't you think? " Goku meant every word, he has long forgotten any ill will towards the Green alien

"Did you know he initiated in working with me to save you from that man who took you before? "

The young boy's mind darted back at the nightmare he accidentally took part in that night, Piccolo with his arm, pointing and middle fingers stretched out in front of him, a narrow intense and force energy with smaller sparks spiraling around it pushed out from his fingertips, and made contact with both the Saiyan intruder and his father

Goku was holding Raditz in place to make sure he couldn't dodge

"The guy was too strong, we couldn't hold him off, luckily Piccolo had developed a technique "

The memory kept replaying on Halfling's head

" it was a very strong one, but he needed time to charge it, everything was working well but I made a mistake of letting the Saiyan go the first time"

" So I had to make amends, we had no other choice, I held the Saiyan with all my might, I knew I wasn't getting out of there unscathed "

" I asked Piccolo to give it everything his got, I just, I just knew things will be fine, I trusted him, and well by how things turned out, looks like I was right to have faith in him"

Pieces of the puzzle landed one by one completing the overall picture, what Gohan saw was only a fracture of what happened

All the hardships and mental suffering he had to endure, started at that point the vehemence of it has passed it's freshness and it felt like a distant memory, the emotion that took hold of him now fiercely is that he had the audacity to give his Piccolo a small piece of blame

It's didn't matter that maybe perhaps Piccolo did inadvertently hurt him in more ways than one and his actions was of selfishness, but unbeknownst to him he threw away all the chances he gave his doubts to dare condemn his beloved when he massacred that bald Saiyan

He has denounce all care for his mentor being evil, but learning this only affirmed that the trial from the previous year was not all for naught

And that fed his insatiable, never ending pit, never full, need to worship the guy and put him clouds high in a pedestal
