The time skip happened between chapter 200 and 201. This is the first point it was said that the time skip happened. There were hints, like Ash's short and dark hair, as well as the lip gloss Seb had when he returned with Chloe, but you didn't miss it being said previously. I will go over some things that happened in the past five years as we continue though.

"We're approaching Motostoke now." Seb said over the phone.

"Copy that, we're still on track to Stow-on-Side." Ash replied, his connection far worse.

"So, we need to find out if either of our crazy guys are here." Seren sighed. "Never can be easy."

"Glad things haven't changed that much." Goh said.

"Oh they've changed, but it'll take a while for you to find out just how much." Seb said. "Just so you know, my boat is ready when the hard part comes."

"Why do we need a boat, what does open water have to do with us dealing with the hard part?" Goh asked confused.

"Absolutely nothing." Serena said. "It's how he gets away from it."

"Hey, I help by not being there, last time I stayed it went poorly." Seb defended.

"Can you three focus?!" Ash yelled over the phone.

"I forgot to hang up…". Seb said defeated.

"Real smooth there." Serena joked.

"Now we just need to find out if Sordward or Shielbert are here." Goh said, getting back on track.

"Run for your lives! It's out of control!" A man screamed running past them.

"I have an odd feeling that they're here." Goh said, running into the stadium.

The entire field was filled with smoke, making it hard to breath, and harder to see.

"I'm sorry folks, the stadium is closed for now." A worker said.

"I believe this is enough to grant access." Seb said showing his trainer ID. "These two are with me."

"Oh, of course sir. It's great to have your help." The man said.

"Kabu! Are you out here!" Serena screamed.

"I'm old! Not deaf!" Kabu shouted, running up.

"What's going on?" Seb asked.

"It's odd, this Torkoal came out of nowhere and just Dynamaxed without warning." Kabu said. "I've been more focused on clearing out the gym, but I think we're all set at this point."

"Did you see anyone suspicious?" Goh asked.

"It was a little league game, lots of weird looking people, but that's not important now, we need to stop that Pokémon." Kabu said.

"Feraligatr and I will take lead. Get ready." Seb said, adjusting his Dynamax band. "Feraligatr, time to Dynamax!"

"Regirock! I choose you!" Serena called out.

"Centiscorch let's go!" Kabu commanded.

"Cinderace come out!" Goh said.

A blast of fire came out towards the group, the arena heating up.

"Regirock use Rock Slide!"

"Feraligatr use Max Geyser!"

The rock and water attacks balanced out and stopped the fire type attack from hitting the group.

"Alright Cinderace, now it's our turn. Use High Jump Kick!"

"Centiscorch use Lunge!"

The two Fire types leapt forward, striking the Torkoal, but seemingly doing little. As rain began to fall, Goh had an idea.

"Cinderace return! Come on out Castform!"

The weather Pokémon appeared, quickly changing to its water form.

"I can keep it raining, you keep hitting it!" Goh said. "Castform use Rain Dance!"

"Feraligatr use Max Geyser!"

"Regirock use Rock Slide!"

"Centiscorch use Lunge!"

The attacks pushed back the Torkoal, causing it to stumble slightly.

"Look! Over there!" Goh said, seeing Sordward in the distance.

"Go! We've got this." Seb said.

Goh ran through the field, dodging attacks and Pokémon chasing after his target.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the lesser hero." Sordward said.

"I'm no lesser hero." Goh argued.

"Let's see, your mental breakdowns, and defeat at the hands of my younger brother beg to differ." Sordward said.

"How'd you find out about those!" Goh shouted.

"The battle was easy, my brother was ashamed you didn't put up more of a fight, where is that Kommo-o of yours by the way?" Sordward said. "As for the mental breakdowns, we hacked into your lab months ago to gather all the information we needed, that was just a juicy extra."

"I'm warning you, stop this now." Goh threatened.

"You're warning me?! I'm warning you, stay out of our way, or you'll wish you never came out of hiding." Sordward said. "The sword isn't here anyways, and my job is done at this stadium."

"What do you mean this stadium?" Goh said.

"Can't be a hero without a crisis." Sordward said running off.

G: Everyone they're hitting every gym to be the heroes, it isn't just about bringing Eternatus out!

As Goh sent the message, a wave of energy pulsed through the gym.

"What happened?" Goh said running back in, seeing Kabu checking on the now normal sized Torkoal.

"Where's Sordward?" Seb asked.

"He got away, didn't have the sword with him either." Goh said. "There's other news, they know us, they hacked into the lab to get all of the info on us they needed, and then some."

"So, we beat them three times now, let's keep going until we get the sword and shield back." Serena said.

"First can we stop at a Pokémon center?" Goh asked. "Drizzile and Spinarak went down when I fought Shielbert."

"I've got items in my bag, we can't wait around at the center right now." Serena said, as they headed off for their next destination.

Elsewhere

Ash looked out towards Stow-on-Side coming up in the distance. The sky above it, a reddish purple. There was trouble there, he was certain of it.
