Chapter 24
"I am not being fucking blindfolded."
Bakugo stubbornly crossed his arms and plopped on a cushion.
"Ah, come on blasty! It'll be fun. Besides. We have to humor each other on date night. It's sacred." He snorted at my newly minted rule.
"Yeah, yeah. I was just complaining. I'm not gonna back out, squish."
I squealed and sat down at the head of the table. Shinsou sat across from Bakugo and placed his elbows on the table to get our attention.
"This is how it works. One person will be blindfolded at a time. The other two will decide on what to feed them. The person to successfully guess the four dishes they are served will be the winner. Winner gets to ask the losers for one favor."
My eyes narrowed, not sure if I liked the stakes. This could honestly go in so many directions.
Several workers walked in. They had covered platters and my curiosity was killing me. They placed the dishes down and walked out. Our original waiter came in and dropped off a pitcher of tea and water.
"Okay, before we start this, we should lay down some ground rules. Shinsou, since this is your date, why don't you decide."
He nodded and then gave me a mischievous smirk.
"Are you sure you want me setting the rules? You are outnumbered two to one. How about I make this a little fairer. You can veto and set one rule." I turned to Bakugo to see him giving me a similar look.
"Okay. Bring it. I don't have to remind either of you just how competitive I am!"
We played rock paper scissors to determine the order of participation. Of course, I had to go first. Shinsou knelt behind me and pulled out a black blindfold. The last thing I saw before my eyes were covered was a slow smirk gracing both of their lips.
"Don't you get any ideas! I am trusting you with this… I don't like having my sight cut off." The atmosphere changed slightly at my quiet admission.
"Do we need to just let you hold your eyes closed? I wouldn't want to accidentally trigger you." Shinsou's hands ran down my arms, relaxing me with his touch.
"No. I want to do this. If I can't face my fears with you, then I'll never overcome them. We're in this together." I placed my hands over his, smiling slowly.
"Just because you're fucking hot doesn't mean we're going easy on you. I don't lose." I heard a dish open and several smells overloaded my senses.
"Alright, remember, four dishes to guess." I nodded and opened my mouth when I was told to.
Chewing slowly, I scrunched up my brow a thought for a moment.
"Smoked Salmon glazed with… honey? Do I have to be super specific?" A napkin brushed against my lips and I smiled.
"No, that works. You'll get to see the dishes once your turn is over."
"Open up," Bakugo whispered in my ear. I shivered and opened my mouth to say something snarky.
"Listen here-"
He cut me off by shoving something in my mouth. I swiped at him and he caught my arm, snickering. His hold was gentle, letting me know I wasn't actually restrained.
"Grilled octopus." I wiped a strand of hair behind my ear and waited, opening my mouth when something new touched my lips.
"Tuna."
A hand grazed my knee and I swatted at it. A chuckle washed over my skin as Shinsou leaned into my personal space.
"Alright, last one, Ren. This one is hot so blow on it first." I did as Shinsou said and gently blew on the food. A warm spoon touched my lips and I opened up, instantly being hit with nostalgia.
"Spicy Udon soup."
The blindfold was removed and I looked at the dishes in front of me, seeing that I got them all correct.
"Hey. What's with that look?" Shinsou asked.
"I haven't had Udon soup since my mom died. When she passed, my dad had one of his lackeys cook for me. Needless to say, it wasn't great. This just reminded me of her."
Shinsou pulled me in for a gentle kiss. He pulled back and searched my face for a moment, determining if we should continue.
"I'm okay. I didn't realize I could think of her and be happy but… her cooking for me is a very good memory. Now, you're next, blasty. You have to be perfect to even tie with me!"
He snorted and flicked my nose. I kneeled behind him and started to tie the blindfold. He reached back and ran his fingers over my legs, distracting me from my task. Feeling bold, I leaned forward and nipped his ear, keeping my eyes locked on the violet ones across the table.
"Oi, that's fucking cheating." I snickered and tried to back up but the grip he had on my thighs tightened.
"Stay here. You can reach for stuff over my shoulder, shorty."
I complied and gave Shinsou a nod. He proceeded to open the next four tins, making my mouth water. Bracing myself on his shoulder, I leaned over and scooped up a generous spoonful from the bowl nearest me. My breasts grazed his back and he inhaled sharply.
"Blow first."
He snorted and just opened his mouth.
Oh, right. He can handle pretty high temperatures.
I plopped the spoon in his mouth, still leaning over him.
"Weak ass curry. It has a good ratio of spices though."
Bakugo then proceeded to name the other three dishes correctly. He ripped off the blindfold and leaned his head back so he could stare at me. Leaning down, I placed a kiss on the tip of his nose. His cheeks turned bright red and I chuckled. I ran my hands through his hair then made my way over to Shinsou.
"It's your turn now."
He took the black triangle from my hands and deftly tied it in place. Then, he yanked me forward onto his lap, snuggly wrapping his arms around me.
"Let's get this party started." His deep voice reverberated through my body and I sank into him, thoroughly enjoying his warmth.
Bakugo uncovered the new dishes with unnecessary flourish. I shifted in Shinsou's lap and he leaned in to whisper in my ear.
"Stop squirming, it's distracting."
I cleared my throat and reached for the first meal, trying not to let my blush get the best of me.
"Open up."
He opened his mouth and stuck his tongue out. I couldn't help but giggle at how adorable he looked. I placed the meat on his tongue and it almost fell. Luckily, he literally chomped it up out of the air.
I started cackling as Bakugo watched with an amused expression. I don't think I'd ever seen him look so soft.
"Hmmm, Gyudon?"
Humming, I leaned forward and reached for the next dish. He took full advantage of the situation and ran his fingers over my thigh, stopping just below my panty line. I sat back quickly and he grunted loudly.
"Geez, warn a guy next time." Bakugo cackled loudly.
"You two are going to be the death of me! Just… stop manhandling me and finish this challenge!"
I turned to see him smirking.
"Shinsou, I have perfect access to your family jewels. Behave." He nodded but the smirk only grew in size.
By the time the competition was complete, we had all guessed each of our dishes successfully.
I guess we're all secretly foodies.
We dug in and finished the food, mulling over what to do since we had a three-way tie.
"I mean… I know it semi defeats the purpose but we could just each have a favor from the others."
Bakugo instantly shook his head. "Ain't no fucking way I'm agreeing to that. We need a tie breaker. Something where there can only be one winner."
I shrugged and looked at Shinsou. He nodded his agreement; noodle being slurped into his mouth.
"It's your date Shinsou. What will the tie breaker be?"
I covered a yawn with my hand. The day's activities were catching up with me and it was barely six in the evening.
"Fine. Rock-Paper-Scissors it is. One round, that's it. On shoot." I groaned, knowing that I was going to lose since my luck was crap.
We all held out our fists.
"Rock-Paper-Scissors, shoot!" My fist showed rock and both the boys had chosen paper. I groaned and crossed my arms in a huff.
"I knew this was going to happen. I hate this game."
My words fell on deaf ears as they both stared at my chest. When I'd crossed my arms, I had inadvertently pushed my boobs up, putting emphasis on my cleavage.
"Hey! Perverts! My eyes are. Up. Here."
I was clearly a sore loser but neither of them seemed to mind. They refocused on one another. Four rounds passed before a winner was finally crowned. Bakugo jumped up and started cackling like a maniac, fist raised in victory.
"Oh, this is going to be awful. Just remember, I am a very good grudge holder." My grumbling was lost in the sound of the waiters coming back in, clearing the dishes from the table.
We walked towards the bus station only to be stopped by Present Mic in a sleek sedan.
"HEY you three! Shouta said you were on a date and I thought it would be nice to not have to take the bus back."
We took his invitation immediately, very excited not to ride on the stuffy bus.
"Are we going to the house or to the school?" Present Mic queried.
"We're going back to school, dad. We have to train for the festival Monday."
Present Mic nodded before speaking in his loud tenor again.
"How is THAT going to work? I mean, you're all very competitive but will you be able to put each other in the infirmary?"
The awkward silence after was palpable. Cue my idiotic mouth deciding to run without consulting my brain first.
"I mean, Bakugo sent me to the infirmary within the first hour on day one."
Shinsou immediately burst out laughing at the way his dad literally twisted in his seat to look at us. Face filled with concern.
"Crap. It's not as bad as it sounds! It was actually my fault."
Shinsou chose that moment to butt in between bursts of laughter.
"Recovery Girl still hasn't forgiven him. She is just waiting for you to walk through that door so she can give you a proper talking to, blasty."
The car behind us honked when we didn't move. Present Mic whirled back around and slammed on the gas, slinging us around as he all but drifted around a curve.
By the time we arrived at the school, I felt like I'd lost ten years of my life. I dramatically threw myself out of the vehicle after we stopped. Not caring that I could possibly be flashing my underwear in the process.
"LAND! SWEET LORD, LAND!" The boys rolled their eyes at my antics and thanked our unexpected chauffer.
The walk back to the dorms was peaceful. I reached out and grabbed both of their arms, enjoying the flex of their muscles as I pulled them closer.
"Besides almost dying, this date was a lot of fun." Bakugo crossed his arms over his chest, lacing our finger together in a fluid motion.
"Agreed. I had no idea what to expect, honestly. The best part was getting to watch you in that little slip of a dress though."
My fingers tightened around his and I blushed, refusing to look at him.
"Oi, don't be like that, squish. You know you love it when we tell you how hot you are."
Shinsou opened the doors for us, laughing at the way I tried to speed away from the flirtatious blond. Mina and Kirishima were on the couch. They both turned and looked at the three of us as we walked in. Before I could be pulled into a conversation by Mina, Bakugo literally dragged me to the elevator.
"WE'LL TALK LATER, MINA!" Kirishima laughed at our antics and yelled at Bakugo. "LET'S TALK WHEN THEY DO, BRO!"
