"Ash Ketchum to the principals office. Ash Ketchum to the principals office." A voice called out.

"What did you do?" Serena mouthed.

"Nothing new, at least, that's what I think." Ash said, grabbing his bag.

"Look, whatever it is you think I did, I didn't do." Ash began to defend himself.

"Ash, you're not in trouble. We need your expertise here." The principal said calmly.

"What's going on?" Ash asked.

"You might not know this but we're trying to expand the school grounds." A secretary said.

"Yeah, the abandoned lots on either side of the school, they went up for sale." Ash said.

"Apparently you do know." The principal said.

"I still don't know how this involves me though." Ash said.

"The owners of those plots are retired powerful trainers, and they want to see we have a worthy trainer here." The principal explained.

"If I do this, you need to use one of those plots to teach battling then. I'm graduating soon enough." Ash pointed out.

"Fair enough, the battle will take place tomorrow, please be prepared to win." The Secretary said.

"If that's the case I need to break a rule tomorrow." Ash said.

"Unacceptable, the rules aren't allowed to be broken!" The secretary said changing her tone quickly. "Rules keep order, without them we'd be in chaos!"

"Beatrice, relax, which rule are you talking about?" The principal asked.

"Rule 37B, no Pokémon outside of Pokeballs on the premises." Ash said.

"Do you understand what kind of filth and health code violations that brings!" Beatrice said in shock.

"Is there any way they could stay in their Pokeball?" The principal asked.

"They won't help if they have to, and I won't help without them." Ash said calmly. "One day, that's all it needs to be for."

"How big of a Pokémon are we talking?" The principal asked.

"Pikachu." Ash said.

"Like a Pikachu, smaller than a Pikachu, slightly bigger than a Pikachu?" Beatrice asked.

"Just a Pikachu, the rest will stay in their balls." Ash said.

"There has to be something else we can offer to avoid this, right?" Beatrice asked.

"What, extra credit, he's already our top student, we can't offer anything of monetary value. Him asking for a one day pass on one rule is fairly small. The principal said, pulling out a notepad, before scribbling down on it. "Keep this with you tomorrow, it's only good for then, but it exempts you from the rule."

"It exempts me and Pikachu." Ash corrected. "I've seen how she reacts." Ash said pointing at Beatrice. "Also, could we maybe get rid of one more?"

"Shouldn't you be going back to class?" Beatrice scolded.

"Nah, I don't usually learn anything in this class anyways." Ash said.

The next day

"So you are the one representing this hall of learning." An older man said.

"Don't go easy on me, just because I'm young." Ash said. He was in one of his training outfits, ready for the battle.

"Very well, we will battle you at the same time." An older woman said.

"Fine by me." Ash said. "I'll go first. Pikachu, Lucario! I choose you!"

"Rhydon come out."

"Poliwrath it's time once again."

"Pikachu use Quick Attack! Lucario use Bone Rush!"

"Rhydon use Rock Blast!"

"Poliwrath use Hydro Pump!"

Despite it being a double battle, both attacks were focused on Pikachu as it sped across the makeshift battlefield.

"Ma'am I still don't trust your decision. What will the parents think of this?" Beatrice said.

"If they have a problem, they shouldn't have voted for Ash to represent the school." The principal said calmly.

"But what if he loses?" Beatrice said panicking.

"Then we don't get the expansion, but I have faith in him." The principal said.

"Pikachu use Discharge! Lucario use Bone Rush on Rhydon to jump into the air!"

"Rhydon use Horn Drill!"

"Poliwrath use Hypnosis!"

Electricity flew across the battlefield, damaging no one as it was absorbed by Rhydon.

"Kid, stay in school, lightning rod absorbs electricity." The Rhydon owner said.

"Who said Discharge was the main attack! Lucario use Aura Sphere, barrage style! Pikachu double strike Iron Tail!" Ash called out.

The flurry of attacks hit the Rhydon sending it to its knees, only to be swatted away by the Iron Tails.

"You aren't the only ones who can target one Pokémon." Ash said.

"Poliwrath use Hydro Pump!"

The blast of water knocked Lucario further into the sky, plummeting elsewhere.

Meanwhile at the lab

"There you go, drink up." Ren said watering a plant he had out front.

'Boom!'

As the dust cleared, he saw Ash's Lucario on the ground.

"Oh hey Lucario, aren't you supposed to be with Ash?" Ren said, quickly pulling out his phone.

Back at the school

"Ash! Ren said Lucario landed at the lab!" Serena called out.

"The lab!? That's on the other side of town!" Chloe said.

"Pikachu, use Quick Attack and don't get hit by that Hydro Pump!" Ash called out.

"Poliwrath use Mud Bomb!"

Pikachu was able to outspeed Poliwrath's attack, but it couldn't do this forever.

"Ash use Aura Soul!" Chloe called out.

"If I knew how, don't you think I would!" Ash called back. "Pikachu keep using Quick Attack, but combine it with Discharge!"

"Look at that Ma'am, he's just avoiding attacks." Beatrice complained.

"Beatrice, tell me something, how long have you worked for me?" The principal asked.

"I was here on your first day, twenty years ago." Beatrice said.

"And I'm those twenty years, have I ever made a truly bad decision in the end?" The principal asked.

"Well, your last hairstyle wasn't my taste, but otherwise no, you've always done what's best for the school." Beatrice said.

"Now, I know you've had a problem with Ash from day one, but I'm telling you him being here and fighting for us is a good thing." The principal said. "If you don't believe me, you know where the door is."

"Ma'am I've worked here for sixty years and three principals." Beatrice outbursts.

"And I won't have you questioning my choices every five seconds. You know well, but Ash is something this school has never had." The principal said.

"Oh, I promise we've had plenty of rebellious children like Ash." Beatrice said.

"Not rebellious, truly gifted. Ash uses what he learned as a trainer, and applies it to his class work. His retention of information is unparalleled, that's what makes him a good student and a great battler."

"Now Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"

Stray electricity had done enough small damage to slow down Poliwrath enough for Pikachu to get a shot in.

"Poliwrath use Hydro Pump!"

The attacks pushed against each other, at a draw.

"You can't win child." The Poliwrath's owner said.

"You forgot one thing." Ash said, his eyes sparking blue momentarily.

"What's that?" The Rhydon owner said.

"We never set field boundaries." Ash said, as Lucario rammed into Poliwrath. The sudden hit, gave Pikachu the edge to land an attack on Poliwrath, finishing the fight.

"I have to admit, I'm impressed with the battling skills you've shown." The Poliwrath owner said.

"Have you trained with Mustard?" The Rhydon owner said.

"Mustard, no Pikachu likes Ketchup though." Ash said a bit confused.

"Not the condiment, a master trainer. He's trained some of the best in the world." The Rhydon owner said.

"Where can i find him!" Ash said excitedly.

"He runs a dojo on The Isle of Armor off the coast of Galar." The Poliwrath owner said. "If you truly haven't trained there, I would highly recommend doing so."

The Adventures of the Mysterious Pokémon

"Finally!" The Pokemon cried out. He could feel that humans presence was close.

"Boss, we've got an exhausted civilian dead ahead!" A voice was heard.

"What, no I don't need assistance!" The Pokemon said.

"Hey, take it easy. We're the good guys. What did this to you?" A blue one said.

"No one can hurt me, I've traveled far from the mountains in search of the one I must be in combat with." The Pokemon said.

"A grudge match I can understand, but still let me take you to the center, they'll take care of you." The blue one said.

"No! No one must know I'm here!" The Pokemon said.

"Look, asking for help isn't a bad thing, so why don't you just tell me what's going on?" The blue one said.

"I said no! Are you with the dark one!?" The Pokemon said.

"Dark one, I'm with Office Jenny." The blue one said, removing a strange black and reflective object from his face. "All friends here." He said, as the other blue ones did the same.

"Your eyes, they have the spark the human has, just like the green one as well!" The Pokemon said in shock. "Take me to the one you call Trainor!"

"Trainor? Do you mean trainer?" The blue one asked.

"Yes! I believe I must battle with your trainer to the end to fulfil my duty!" The Pokemon said.

"Not going to happen on my watch." The blue one said, putting the black object back on. "Leave before this gets messy."

"I'm sorry to do this blue one." The Pokemon said, focusing its strength. "But you cannot stop me." The Pokemon punched the ground, the resulting shockwave knocking over all of the blue ones as he ran off. "Why are all of this humans allies so weird'
