Serena kissed Ash's unconscious forehead as she and Misty left to get what would hopefully restore his strength.
"If you aren't comfortable with leaving him, I can find this myself." Misty offered.
"Believe it or not, I'm not afraid of doing things on my own. I'm not the same scared little girl in the Ultra Wormhole." Serena argued.
"I never said you were, but what I said is true. I was on a journey with Ash before anyone, his friendship means a lot to me, but what you have is more than that, and I don't want you worrying and going back halfway through." Misty said.
"Sorry, you're right. I just get defensive." Serena admitted.
"It's fine, you're stressed right now. Ash will get better though." Misty reassured.
"So what's your plans for outspeeding the Sharpedo?" Serena asked as they approached the beach.
"Did I say outspeed? No we're going to scare them off, or fight them until they leave. Gyarados! Kingdra! Caserin! Corsola! Come on out!" Misty said tossing out her Pokémon. "Come on, we don't have all day." Misty said climbing on Gyarados.
Inside Ash's mindscape
"Okay Pikachu worked for a minute, but that's not enough. Once I wake up, I need a way to fight without tiring myself out." Ash said, floating about. "Maybe other Pokemon that can get a boost like that." Ash said, making smoky figures of all of his Pokémon. "Fun as it would be, a team of Tauros probably won't work here." Ash said removing all but one. "Yeah, that might work though." Ash said floating further in.
Back on the open waters
"Gyarados use Hurricane!" Misty called out as they began to get surrounded.
"Mantine help out with Air Slash!"
The Sharpedo moved back in fear, not wanting to try their luck against the Gyarados.
"That won't keep them at bay for long, we need to keep going." Misty said, seeing the splashes coming back.
"Mantine, cover us up with Mist!" Serena called out. "Now let's keep going." Serena said as they were obscured, her phone leading the way.
Back in Ash's mindscape
"Okay, so that's three." Ash said, as a Smokey form of his Lycanroc rose up with the others. "That still leaves half a team. I wonder, is it worth the risk?" Ash said, looking back towards the front.
Back Outside of Ash
"Avery tell me you found something helpful." Honey said as he returned. She felt terrible for what happened to Ash and knew she was partially to blame for his current state.
"He's just sleeping, we were told that." Avery said. "And I'm not changing him. But in all honesty, it's just a travel pack, some clothes, a few items, and a collar."
"Collars can be clothes." Klara added.
"Not this one." Avery said, holding up Pikachu's collar.
"My point still stands." Klara said. "But what's that in the center?"
"It looks like a light ball." Hyde said inquisitively. "He planned on Pikachu fighting both you and Dad without that boost in power. Incredible."
"Not just them, when we fought he didn't have it on." Avery mentioned.
"He didn't have it on when he defended the tower either." Klara added.
"Whatever these two did, it's nothing short of incredible." Mustard said, ruminating on what it all meant.
Back with Serena and Misty
"There it is! Let's get the honey quick!" Serena said, rushing towards the island.
"Hold it twerpettes." A voice called out.
"Seriously?! They're STILL around?" Misty asked.
"Not as often, it's been a while since we last saw them." Serena said angrily.
"This tree is ours, and so is everything it has!" Jessie argued.
"You can't claim ownership of a tree!" Serena argued.
"You can't take ownership of a Gahhh!" Jessie mocked. "We were here first and once we're done this exquisite honey will be all ours!"
"Not if we stop you!" Misty said. "Corsola use Spike Cannon!"
"Thwackey stop that machine!" Serena called out.
"Hey, watch who you're attacking!" Meowth argued, trying to swat away Thwackey.
"Seviper stop them with Poison Tail!"
"Carnivine you help too with Crunch!"
"Corsola hit them with Bubblebeam!"
"Thwackey use Solar Blade!"
As Thwackey locked blades with Seviper, Corsola held back against Carnivine.
"Meowth hurry up with the honey." James urged.
"Hey this machine only goes so fast!" Meowth argued.
"It's not the pumping I'm worried about!" James cried out. While Corsola and Thwackey had been fighting on the land, the other Pokemon had circled around and were closing in.
"Yikes!" Meowth yelped as he saw Gyarados charging up a Hyper Beam.
"Will you two toughen up! We can take them!" Jessie barked.
"With what?" James asked.
'Boom!'
"Looks like we're blasting off without a plan!"
"Great now let's get the honey and get back to the dojo." Serena said.
Back at the dojo
"Ugh." Ash said leaning up.
"Ash! You should be resting!" Mustard said sternly.
"Awake or asleep, my powers will recover at the same rate right now." Ash said. "Besides I've been thinking, and I know how to beat Honey."
"You've been unconcious, how could you have been thinking?" Mustard asked.
"Meditative technique, anyways I need to prep, I only have a little while left." Ash said.
"You aren't going anywhere and that's final!" Honey scolded. "I understand you want to prove yourself, but digging your own grave proves nothing. Serena and Misty should be back with something to help soon though."
"Not just soon." Serena said walking in,"We got a jar full of it."
A bit later
"Alright, eat up you two." Serena said putting down bowls of soup in front of Ash and Pikachu.
"So, Honey. If you're up for it I'd like to have our rematch." Ash said, before having his first bite.
"If I'm up for it?" Honey asked accusingly.
"Yeah, I've got a winning strategy." Ash said.
"Soup first. Battle once you're better." Serena said.
"I'm eating, I'm eating." Ash said, going back to his bowl.
"If you are physically up for it, then Blissey and I are ready to give you another chance." Honey said.
"You'll need more than Blissey for this time." Ash warned.
