"Ash, wake up. We've landed." Serena said lightly shaking him. When he said he needed a nap he wasn't kidding the ride back to mainland wasn't long, but he had quickly fallen asleep.

"Huh? Wazzat?" Ash said groggily.

"We need to get out of the cab now." Serena said gently.

"Mmhmm." Ash mumbled grabbing his things.

"Are they okay?" The driver asked.

"Yeah, they're just exhausted right now." Seb said calmly.

"Umm, guys. You might want to see this!" Goh said looking out to the sea. A wave was quickly approaching, heading straight for them.

"It's the tide, or haven't you learned that yet?" Seb questioned.

"Tides don't usually move like that." Goh warned. The wave was small in length but large in height, and it didn't seem to be shrinking.

"What even is that?" Chloe asked squinting.

"Ash, we need you at attention, we might be in a battle." Serena said shaking the sleepy trainer.

"I'm up!" Ash said startled. "What in the?"

The waves quickly approached the shore, as they became a cloud of dust, stopping inches in front of Ash and Serena.

"Fu!" Urshifu said proudly.

"Urshifu? What are you doing here?" Ash asked, recognizing the red muzzle and paws.

"Shi! Fu!" Urshifu said taking a fighting stance.

"A battle?" Ash said surprised. "Alright then!" Ash said grabbing a Pokeball.

"Shi!" Urshifu said pointing at Pikachu.

"What do you say Pikachu, do you have enough to battle a legendary?" Ash asked.

"Pika!" Pikachu said, sparks flying.

"Ash, you're still recovering from your last several battles." Serena warned.

"It's fine, this is just a one on one anyways." Ash said nonchalantly.

"He says as he's about to fight a legendary." Seb said putting an arm around Chloe as they moved a safe distance away.

"Alright Pikachu! Start off with a Quick Attack!"

Urshifu began launching Surging Strikes at the electric mouse, keeping up with its speed.

"Direct attacks are too risky." Ash said realizing the spot they were in. "Okay Pikachu use Discharge!"

Urshifu readied a Thunder Punch, chasing after Pikachu as he got zapped, stopping just before, having been paralyzed.

"Now Pikachu use Iron Tail!"

Pikachu swung around, knocking Urshifu back a few feet, as it began to tighten its focus.

"Pikachu be ready it's about to use Focus Punch." Ash called out.

Pikachu jumped onto Urshifu's arm, narrowly dodging the attack as he leapt behind the Pokémon.

"Now Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Ash called out.

A bolt of electricity flew through the air. As Urshifu turned around, it was struck by the attack, sending it to its knees. Pikachu was readily awaiting his opponent to get back up, but nothing happened. Urshifu turned to Ash, taking a bowing pose.

"It's just like in the fight against the other Urshifu, except Ash's is bowing this time." Chloe said.

"Does that mean Ash won?" Goh asked. "Because it looks like one good attack from Urshifu could turn it around."

"Goh! Be supportive of Ash!" Serena scolded.

"I am, but I'm also saying Urshifu really hasn't lost." Goh commented.

"Neither did yours." Ash pointed out. "It bowed out of the battle, rather than causing more pain then necessary, my Urshifu accepted the surrender. That doesn't explain why he's surrendering though." Ash said confused. "It's okay, I accept."

Urshifu stayed kneeling in front of Ash.

"Wait. No. You can't be serious?" Ash said in shock.

"What! What do you think he's saying?" Chloe asked.

"I think he wants to join me. Is that right?" Ash asked.

"Shi!" Urshifu said still not moving.

"Then stand up, and reach for the Pokeball yourself." Ash said holding one out.

Urshifu stood up, towering over Ash, reaching out his paw, touching the front of the Pokeball.

'Urshifu has been registered to your Pokédex.' Ash's phone chimed.

"He caught Urshifu!" Goh exclaimed.

"He just caught a legendary, like it was a Caterpie." Seb said in disbeief.

"I've got you." Serena said, catching Ash as he began to fall over again.

"Welcome to the family." Ash said to the Pokeball. "You'll fit right in."

Later that evening

"Visit soon." Chloe instructed, leaning up and kissing Seb.

"Yeah, I think I've missed a lot." Seb said, looking at Ash. In the short time he'd been gone Ash had gained a lot of power, and that was worrying.

As Seb watched the plane take off, he saw a girl close in on him. He turned to see a girl with long white hair tied in a ponytail, wearing a red and black gothic Lolita dress, looking at him. She couldn't be much taller than Ash.

"You're Seb right, number eight trainer in the world." The girl said.

"Who's asking." Seb said cautiously.

"Who I am isn't important, but if you want to beat Ash, you'll need my help, I know all his strategies." The girl said.

"How do I know I can trust you?" Seb asked.

"What do you have to lose by trusting me, the way I see it, you need all the help you can get." The girl said. "I've followed Ash for years and know everything he and his Pokémon are capable of, their strengths and their weaknesses. If I fail to be correct you're welcome to leave." She said, stretching out a hand.

"Alright, let's see what you know." Seb said shaking her hand.

"Perfect." She said, her blue eyes going black as the two were enveloped in darkness. "We have much to discuss, partner." Darkrai cackled. "But first, tell me what you know of the forbidden Regis."
