Part 2: Bonding and Apologies.
Throughout their stay, Sonic and the others were really having a relaxing time with the blue hedgehog and Tails showing Amy, Cream and Cheese, Jules, Bernadette, Uncle Chuck and Vanilla most parts of what the two brothers knew already with Yacker and the Wisps helping along, while exploring even more parts of the small but still big and beautiful planet with all of Eggman's construction site completely gone and the world was back to it's original glory.
Cream and Cheese in the meantime got the chance to play with the Wisps like back on Mobius and she and the Wisps she taught earlier were teaching some of more Wisps on how to make flower crowns.
"Here you go. This is for you." Cream sweetly placed three flower crowns on a Jade Wisp, a Cube Wisp and a Green Wisp who all blushed, babbling their thanks to their newest friend. They in turn along with the Yellow Wisps and Purple Wisps all worked together to make flower crowns for her and Cheese, placing them on their heads which made the seven year old girl giggle happily as she thanked them. "Thank you. You're all so sweet!"
"Chao-Chao!" Cheese squeaked in agreement, which made their newest friends blush again and they all nuzzled into them which made the two giggle louder.
Close by, Vanilla and Bernadette smiled as they saw the former's daughter get along so well with the Wisps as she said. "It's so nice and lovely that they are getting along and becoming such wonderful friends."
"The Wisps are so sweet, it's no wonder the boys love them so much." The latter agreed, smiling as she gazed down at a White Wisp that was sleeping on her lap and she gently stroked it's back. "They're like small children with such positive feelings and energy. I can see why Sonic and Tails are very close to them."
"And their home world is absolutely peaceful and gorgeous. Just a place for children." Vanilla added as she gazed up at the clear blue sky that reminded her and the female hedgehog of the sky back in Mobius.
It wasn't until Cream, Cheese and the Wisps they were playing with approached as the little girl said to both mothers, holding lots of flower crowns. "Look, Mama, Mrs. Hedgehog. Cheese, our new friends and I made these especially for you. Do you want to put them on?"
"Oh, thank you, Cream." Vanilla said happily, allowing her daughter to place a flower crown on her head, as Cheese and a few of the Wisps did the same with Bernadette.
"These are lovely. Thank you, sweeties." The female hedgehog said happily, as Cream and her friends smiled.
Nearby, Tails and Yacker were showing Jules and Uncle Chuck more of the area the former two and Sonic had explored, until the Wisp with the cute blue curl noticed that they were missing two others and asked the nine year old kit on where Sonic and Amy were.
"What is the little guy saying, kiddo?" Jules asked, curiously as like everybody else, he couldn't understand Wisp Language.
"Oh, Yacker was asking where Sonic and Amy were, but I wouldn't worry." Tails replied and translated, as he already had a good feeling where his big brother and friend had gone off to. "Planet Wisp is one of the most safest and peaceful worlds in the universe."
"&%$#&?(Huh?)" Yacker babbled with a confused expression, while the two adult hedgehogs shared a glance before realizing what the young cub meant and smiled knowingly, beginning to understand.
Especially since Sonic and Amy were growing up.
"I hope they haven't gone too far." Sir Charles did admit.
"It's okay, Uncle Chuck. Sonic knows what he's doing and it's almost impossibl to get lost here." The nine year old fox reassured.
"He's right, brother. Those two will be fine." Jules agreed, before remarking curiously. "Though I do wonder why we haven't seen the Mother Wisp yet."
"She might be on the other side of the planet watching over the other Wisps, including the newer ones born a few months ago after Sonic saved the universe." Tails guessed, even though there was something he felt a little unsure of since before coming here.
Like how the adults and Amy, Cream and Cheese were going to react in just how big the Mother Wisp really is.
Meanwhile, Sonic took Amy to the spot where he first had a full mental conversation with the hallucination of Chip as the day was drawing into night, the Planet Wisps' galaxy's sun setting. The pink hedgehog thought it was amazing while the blue hedgehog remembered this which, while it made him feel a bit sad at the thought of his dear friend, he was still happy with what and who he had in his life and that it was a peaceful spot despite that the world was full of adorable little Wisps and a giant one who was the aliens' mother.
"This place is so beautiful. No matter where you go, you can't help but feel the beauty of the nature here." Amy remarked as she and Sonic rested in the soft green grass and wonderful alien like flowers.
"That's why I love it." Sonic responded, lying on his back in his usual comfort position. "This is what I hope the afterlife is like when it's my time to go. Or something similar, maybe like a combination of Green Hill and Emerald Hill Zones."
"Anybody who says they wouldn't want to love this place or nature in general would be crazy." The thirteen year old hedgehog nodded.
"You mean like Eggman?" The sixteen year old half-teased, then frowned as he sat up while using his hands for support as he leaned back. "Then again, the way how he was ruining this place was too much like out of my worst nightmares. The way how he...how he kidnapped the whole planet, took it over easily and used all of these cute aliens and their mom for both batteries and for a mind control weapon..."
"Sonic? Are you okay?" Amy asked, worriedly when she saw her boyfriend's sad expression.
Sonic didn't say anything at first, but after a few moments he sighed and placed on arm on top of his knee, admitting. "Sometimes I can't help but wonder if Eggman taking over this world was because I failed to keep in him line, let alone keep him from going as far as try and take over the entire universe. That he did all of that was my fault. I mean...as much as I hate to say it, but there could be a universe where it didn't happen but he'd still be alive and...Maybe I'd still be feeling really low."
"Sonic, you shouldn't think that." His girlfriend gently scolded him, holding onto his arm as she continued. "It may...It may be the case in an alternate reality, but it didn't happen here. You should stop with the what if's since they didn't happen."
Realizing that she was right, he mentally shook away those thoughts since everything is alright now and the universe was in peace. Especially both Mobius and Planet Wisp.
"Right. Sorry, Ames. It's just, well...after what we've been through last week, I guess we are pretty lucky and everything's okay now. Seeing the other realities, even just snippets of them really scared me. Some of them were just as terrifying and horrible even if some others were just silly and Egghead was more of a goofball than he was here. It made me realize that...that Eggman would never change. The truth hit me hard even further when I fought him in the Prison of Evil. I just...I hope he could at least be spared enough to go to the afterlife." The hero of Mobius scratched the top of his head.
"I guess you have a point, but that doesn't mean it was your fault. None of the things he did was your fault." Amy reassured him, smiling softly as she gently kissed the blue hedgehog's cheek. "The past never bothered you much before and everything's better now."
Smiling at his girlfriend, Sonic allowed her to hug him as he returned it. "Thanks, Amy. You're right. I'd be lost without you and everybody else."
Amy just smiled as she and her boyfriend nuzzled together, before sharing warm and loving expressions, before suddenly a looming shadow covered them both, making the young lovers blink in confusion while suddenly the blue hedgehog sensed that they weren't alone. For a split second the teenage hero was alarmed and looked up to see what it was or who it was while his girlfriend also looked up and she let out a terrified shriek.
"Whoa!" Sonic yelped to see a giant pink figure with lots of tentacles hovering over them, and on instinct, he got up and stood in front of the frightened pink hedgehog girl behind him just in case.
It wasn't until he then realized that he recognized this giant alien, especially when she held a gentle look despite that the sunlight behind her made it a bit difficult to see her front, but the shape was easy to bring back a certain memory. Especially when the massive creature gave out a familiar song-like language that could only be spoken in Wisp. Almost immediately upon seeing the giant Wisp's face, the blue hedgehog relaxed.
"Yacker's Mom." The sixteen year old greeted, which suprised Amy as she stood up. "How've you been?"
"Wait, you mean...this is Yacker's mother?" The pink hedgehog asked, surprised as the Mother Wisp beamed a happy expression.
"$^ %$&%. #^ $& %$& *$% $ .(Sonic. It is good to see you again, child.)" The Mother Wisp greeted warmly, feeling purely delighted to see the young cobalt Mobian again as like her children, she missed him and Tails and having had hoped they would come and visit sometime in the future, but was surprised that Sonic did while bringing another friend with and just after a week since some of her children left to visit the hedgehog and fox no less.
"Amy, I know you haven't met her before, but yeah, this is Yacker and all of the Wisps' mom." Sonic responded to Amy's question, then introduced her to the giant Mother. "This is my real great friend Amy Rose. Me and Tails brought her, our parents and other friends with to spend a week here, if you don't mind."
"It's nice to meet you, Yacker's Mother." The Piko Hammer wielding Mobian Girl greeted, a bit nervously as she stepped to stand next to her boyfriend.
"$%^ $& #^$^ *$#^ &$^#^#^ ^$$.(That's wonderful, and it's nice to meet you, Amy Rose.)" Said the Mother Wisp, nodding in greeting and in delight both that Sonic and his adoptive little brother were staying for the week and also to meet one of the friends of the two young heroes. She was also delighted to get the chance to meet Sonic's other friends and family. She reached out two of her tentacles and gently stroked Sonic's head which made him laugh and shook hands with Amy who, while still a little bit nervous, relaxed and returned the smile.
'She's really nice and so motherly. No wonder Yacker and all of the Wisps love her.' Amy thought to herself.
Once the giant alien drew back her tentacles, she beamed a warm expression in her eyes, finding herself very happy to see the teenage blue hedgehog again and very pleased that he has returned. Though the Mother Wisp attempted to gesture a question on where Tails was, to which the hero of Mobius seemed to understand while the pink hedgehog next to him looked confused, clearly not understanding what the mother was trying to say.
"Tails and the others shouldn't be too far from us and are getting along with your kids. We just got here earlier today." Sonic explained even though he did wish Tails was around, as he and Amy couldn't understand Wisp language.
The Mother Wisp didn't seem to mind that her children's Mobian friends came over with more friends and family earlier today, wishing that they could all speak the same language but Sonic seems to get the idea by reading her expression as he did have a pure heart. She missed the young blue hedgehog and was glad that he was alright. Deciding that she wanted to meet with Tails and meet the other visitors, the giant Wisp gently wrapped two of her tentacles around both Sonic and Amy who yelped of being grabbed but not too tightly and lifted off the ground.
Resisting the urge to hug the blue hedgehog despite the deep love she had with him and Tails since they both saved her children and herself, that they were children themselves, loving the feeling to simply hold them, especially Sonic, and half wishing they could stay here forever yet knowing full well that it was wrong to force them and that they had friends and family and a home of their own which made the Mother Wisp feel awful for wishing to keep the two young Mobians, she carefully placed the two young teenagers on top of her head and flew over to where she felt everyone else was.
"Wow! She's actually letting us ride on top of her?" Amy asked, stunned in awe and beginning to enjoy this experience. She had been a little afraid when she and her boyfriend were picked up like that, but the rest of her reassured that everything was going to be fine.
"Yeah. Pretty cool, huh?" Sonic smirked as he relaxed while enjoying the ride, knowing that the giant Wisp was taking them to meet with Tails, Yacker and the rest of the group. He knew that the Mother Wisp was just as gentle despite the little scare when she first approached, and he was little bit disappointed that his moment with Amy was interrupted, but he hid it as there's still plenty of time to...really get into his relationship with his girlfriend.
Plus the fact that the giant alien still allowed it and was happy to see him was more than enough to prove that she wasn't angry or held a grudge against that the blue hedgehog didn't prevent Eggman from kidnapping her, her home and her children. Though Sonic did sense that the way she stroked him lovingly almost like his own Mom did, and how she held him with a half desire look in her eyes, even slightly hesitating in letting him go, a part of her wanted to keep him forever as well. He even noticed that in the newer Wisps that even though staying for a week was the best they could get and had accepted it after the last time, they still didn't want to let him go. They still wanted the blue hedgehog and Tails to stay here, keep them both to play with and never allow them to leave.
'They're still young, though. So I guess they wouldn't know as much as all of their brothers and sisters and mother do. At least they're learning.' The teenage hero thought to himself. Still, he welcomed the knowledge that they can at least visit each other and Sonic knew that all of the Wisps accepted that. They all had their homes after all and free will.
It wasn't long before they heard Tails' voice that got Sonic and Amy's attention that the two hedgehogs saw their friend waving at them as he and the excited Cream, Cheese, Yacker and some of the other Wisps waved at them from the ground, while the adult Mobians looked absolutely shocked and intimidated at the sight of a giant Wisp with both teenagers on top of her head.
"Hey, Sonic!" Tails called out. "Mother Wisp!"
"Hey, guys! How's it going?" Sonic called back as he and Amy waved in return, while the Mother Wisp stopped a good half distance as she didn't want to frighten the other visitors despite that the little rabbit girl and blue and yellow little Chao didn't seem to be afraid at all.
When she noticed the three other hedgehogs on the ground, the giant alien immediately saw the resemblance to all of them with Sonic; the teenager looked like the one with the brown/gray tuff of hair and the lighter blue one with a mustache and bushy matching eyebrows, yet it was clear that the hero of Mobius inherited the older female hedgehog's eye colouring, the beautiful emerald green. It was easy to tell that the female hedgehog and the male hedgehog with the tuff brown/grey hair were Sonic's and Tails' mother and father.
Seeing the nervous looks on the adults, the hero of Mobius called out. "It's okay. She's Yacker and the wisps' mother. She's really gentle and friendly."
"He's right. There's no need to be scared." Tails added reassuringly.
"Hello, Mrs. Wisp. It's really nice to meet you. My name's Cream, and this is my mother Vanilla, and my Chao friend Cheese." Cream greeted kindly.
"It's so nice to meet you, Mother Wisp." Vanilla greeted.
"Chao, Chao." Cheese chirped happily.
"Those are Tails and my folks; Jules, Bernadette, and finally, Uncle Chuck." Sonic introduced the giant mother to his parents and uncle who, despite feeling afraid for his safety as this was the same enormous alien that had been corrupted by Dr. Eggman, swallowing the evil scientist whole as a Nega-Mother Wisp and had gobbled up the teenage hedgehog who had freed himself thankfully, they could tell that with Sonic and Amy looking safe and relaxed, and that the Mother Wisp did look very gentle and motherly, they began to reassure themselves that there wasn't a thing to worry about.
"Hi there." Jules waved.
"Hello, Mother Wisp." Bernadette greeted, though a bit more nervously despite that she knew that it wasn't the Mother Wisp's fault that the former almost lost her son, that had been Eggman's doing.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, ma'am." Uncle Chuck nodded.
"^%$$# *&^$%$#.(Greetings, family and friends of Sonic, Tails and Amy. It's a pleasure to meet you all too.)" The Mother Wisp greeted in return kindly, deciding that, seeing the nervous looks on the hedgehogs' faces, particularly Bernadette which made the giant alien feel horrible for almost taking the older female hedgehog's only bilogical son away from her by swallowing him up, Sonic and Amy should be back on the ground with them.
So she carefully picked up Sonic and Amy who blinked in surprise before lowering them back onto the ground. Yet, what no one, except the sixteen year old, even realized or even noticed, the giant alien was again slightly hesitant in releasing him as she removed her tentacle a bit more slower. While the blue hedgehog didn't show it, he almost instantly had an idea on why this was the case.
But he shook it off to try and talk to her later, and instead his own mother approached him and his girlfriend, hugging them even though the older female hedgehog was fussing over him more.
"Sonic, where have you and Amy been?" Bernadette gently demanded. "I was starting to get very worried.
"Mom, we're fine. You know me." Sonic grumbled a bit with an awkward smile, embarrassed how she was still treating him like a little kid, but he loved her none the less.
Everyone all gathered around feeling very relaxed while the Mother Wisp and all of her children were glad that the Mobians and the little Chao seem to be happy here, yet she, Yacker and all of the Wisps that Sonic and Tails have saved and befriended before their previous visit, seeing how they were close to their parents and were reminded of their own bond, were both very happy for them even as the younger Wisps began to see how much their idols loved their other friends and family of Mobius that the blue hedgehog as well as their mother and Yacker were right with what they said two months ago.
Even if a couple of the young Wisps hovered by their mother with a Hammer Wisp thinking despite that even the little one now began to understand the meaning of Sonic and Tails' lives. '^$& %#$ ^$%#$...(Awww, I really wish Sonic and Tails could stay with us forever and ever...)'
Even the Mother Wisp gazed at the eight Mobians and little Chao being so close together and Bernadette being the worrying mother that she is and her motherly instincts kicking in again despite that both of her sons attempted to reassure her that everything was fine. Yet the giant alien felt sadness and a pang of guilt rise inside her very being; not only she was becoming slightly selfish for having such feelings of simply wanting to keep Sonic and Tails for herself and the younger Wisps who luckily never had to go through being kidnapped by Eggman since they weren't even born back then, the desire to simply grant her youngest children's wishes and pleads in making them stay here, to not let them go and never allow the blue hedgehog and two-tailed fox to return to their home world as though they belonged to the Mother Wisp and all of her children, as well as give into her own desires in having the two brothers as her own was a bit hard to resist but she managed to do it, because while she wanted Sonic and Tails here forever, she felt horrible in feeling such feelings.
Because they belonged in Mobius, and feeling these feelings of selfishness and desires began to made her feel like how that horrible man her children called Baldy Nosehair, Dr. Eggman, had captured them all and separated her from all of the Wisps and using almost every single one including herself to power up his Mind Control Weapon, the brief death of her son Yacker who had sacrificed himself to save the brave teenage cobalt Mobian who had risked his own life to save Yacker's, and through his wishes and pleads, the Chaos Emeralds brought the curl-headed Wisp back, and through them used their power to restore her back to normal after she had engulfed the evil scientist in her Nega-Wisp form.
'$^#&$^ &^%&$? &$* ^$%^#% #% $^%*%^##$%?(How could I wish such a thing, if my desires to simply give into those feelings and the wishes of my children would make us no better than the horrible Dr. Eggman? I cannot force Sonic and Tails to stay, and I do not want to. Yet, why can I not give up the desire to keep them forever?)' She thought, pushing back those desires and wishes, accepting the reality and she was happy and proud of it.
Yet why was it that as she gazed at Sonic and Tails, and how her children loved them both so much, that she felt the same and cared for their safeties, the Mother Wisp simply wanted to keep them both, never let them go and forbid them from leaving. Why did she want to make them stay on Planet Wisp and have the blue hedgehog and two-tailed fox remain here forever?
All these desires would be heartbreaking, both for herself due to her guilt and those who Sonic and Tails grew up with and loved so much and wanted to remain with and return to the planet they were born and grew up in and wanted to go back to.
A few days later during their vacation as things had gone smoothly and peacefully that they even discovered quite a few things like a cave Sonic didn't even notice before, later that night on the fourth day, after having a tasty meal of the fruits and sharing some stories of the past, everyone had settled in for the night in the same forest that Sonic and Tails had slept over in during their Interstellar Amusement Park adventure with sleeping bags set up for the Mobians and Cheese who was sleeping between Cream and Vanilla, with a few Wisps cuddling up with them and Amy. Jules and Bernadette were snuggled up together, while Sonic, Tails, Uncle Chuck, Yacker and other Wisps including Jade slept soundly.
It had been such a wonderful and peaceful vacation that some of them didn't want it to end, but even with a few days left for their week visit, they knew that eventually Sonic, his family and friends would be going back home as they were starting to miss Mobius and were getting a little excited to return home.
Yet even as the Wisps enjoyed their company and were already talking about considering in spending time in Mobius for more than just a few days, also looking forward for the next time Sonic's group would come and visit again, Sonic noticed that some of the younger Wisps still wanted them to stay for more than a week...way more. While Yacker didn't mind as he knew they lived in two worlds, and the Mother Wisp certainly understood, the blue hedgehog got the impression that she had the similar desire, but couldn't find the right time to talk to her privately.
"...Another chili dog...please...Zzzzzz..." Sonic mumbled in his sleep while softly snoring, dreaming a peaceful dream.
Tails in the meantime softly snored until his ears twitched a little as a looming shadow passed him, his family and friends which awoke the young fox. Still groggily and droopy with sleep, the two-tailed kit lifted his head to while blinking his eyes open.
"What's going on?" He asked, still very sleepy, before he noticed something huge and pink gaze over them before floating away, which alerted the nine year old awake as he almost instantly recognized the figure before he whispered in confusion. "Mother Wisp?"
The Mother Wisp, keeping an eye on everyone still sleep, held a sad and somewhat guilt-ridden look, accidentally made eye contact with the fox cub, nodded before floating away while gesturing him to go back to sleep. But this only caused Tails to be overcome with curiosity while wondering what was happening, yet he felt a little bit uneasy. While he knew he should investigate, and that everything was peaceful, he did know that Sonic felt that something wasn't right either.
"Sonic? Sonic, wake up." Tails shook his brother's shoulder to prompt him awake.
"Wh-wha?...Five more minutes..." Sonic mumbled, not yet ready to wake up.
"Sonic, you gotta wake up. This is important." The two-tailed fox whispered urgently, shaking the blue hedgehog a bit harder.
Being awakened by his little brother's urging, the sixteen year old sat up sleepily without waking up Uncle Chuck and yawned, rubbing his eyes. "What's up, Tails? It's late and I'm tired."
"Sorry, Sonic. But I think you should come with me. I saw the Wisps' Mother and...I think something's wrong." The nine year old apologetically and worriedly explained.
That got Sonic startled and fully awake, as he softly gasped in shock and concern. "Say what? What's wrong?"
"I don't know, but I couldn't help but notice that...she seemed to be really sad and somehow guilty about something, but I can't describe how or why." Tails explained, even more uneasy. "I'm worried, Sonic. I think she's been like this since we got here."
"You know what? I think you're right, Tails." Sonic agreed, shrugging a little. "I kinda noticed that when she picked me and Amy up and, to be honest, I noticed she was more than a little hesitant in letting me go. I think I know what the problem is and...maybe we should go and talk to her, just in case."
"Do you think...that even she wants us to stay here forever too?" The young kit asked hesitantly, knowing that even as the younger Wisps that met him and the blue hedgehog a month after the latter saved the universe did accept that they would have to go home soon, some of them still wanted the two Mobians to stay here on Planet Wisp for the rest of their lives.
"Not sure if I'm right about it but I kinda get the feeling that she's torn even though she's been fighting with herself. Best way to find out is to talk to her." The cobalt speedster said, standing up before helping his little brother to his feet. "C'mon, let's go find her."
Nodding in agreement, Tails and Sonic silently sneaked away from their sleeping family and friends before taking off to find the Mother Wisp and figure out what the problem is and hoping to make her feel better if the blue hedgehog was right about his assumptions. The two deeply bonded brothers followed the direction the young cub guessed was where the giant mother went off to. As they did, the two Mobians noticed how beautiful Planet Wisp was even during the night, the stars blinking brightly in the sky, and to their surprise some of the flowers as they passed were glowing with flower buds opening up and revealing beautiful and colourful orbs which came in different colours.
"Whoa...!" Sonic and Tails both murmured in awe, never before having seen this.
"This is incredible!" The two-tailed fox breathed.
"You're telling me, buddy. It's beautiful." The blue hedgehog agreed with a smile. "I think Yacker and Jade mentioned something about how sometimes they and everybody else would come by at night and watch these flowers bloom and glow."
"Yeah. It's the natural energy flow which helps grow the fruit and keeps the nature of Planet Wisp alive." The young kit recalled, having had been that this morning.
"Hmm...so if Eggman really took over this place, all of these beautiful and energy flowers would be destroyed and...and the whole planet would die." The teenage hedgehog realized, becoming horrified and disgusted with just how the evil scientist had almost ruined this world's beauty and life. Then again, his late nemesis was prone in hating nature and loving toxic pollutions and machines, pretty much everything made out of metal.
Good thing Sonic put a stop to all of it. He shuddered over the thought of this world would've been made of metal if these flowers had died. The blue hedgehog then shook away those thoughts.
"It would've been really horrible if it did happen." Tails said, shuddering.
"But it didn't, and it'll never happen." Sonic said reassuringly, taking up Amy's advise as while he realized that may have happened in an alternate universe somewhere, he was glad that it didn't happen here. "Planet Wisp is safe now and Eggman won't be hurting or destroying it ever again, and even if he did, I'd stop him no matter what. Right?"
"Right, Sonic." His best friend/little brother nodded in agreement, feeling better as he knew that the blue hedgehog had a good point. Everything was okay now, and unless time changed, which was extremely unlikely, everybody was safe.
Before Sonic could say anything else, he noticed a familiar giant figure up ahead and softly gasped again which made Tails also look as they came to a stop. Hovering just about fifteen feet away from where they were, was the Mother Wisp who gazed out somberly over the lower fields and meadow across the world she herself created, deep in thought. Sharing a glance, the two brothers walked up to her which made the giant alien hear them and turned around to see the Mobians approach which made her surprised that they were awake and had actually come to see her.
"$^% &$? #^ $&^ ? $^ &$*%^ ?(Sonic? Tails? What are you two doing up?)" The Mother Wisp asked, which Tails translated to Sonic as the two-tailed fox had pulled out his translator since the WCS were still being worked on.
"We were worried since Tails noticed that something's up." Sonic answered as he and his brother now stood next to the giant mother on her right. He then asked as he saw what the two-tailed fox had noticed, and it only increased his suspicions as well. "What's wrong? Why are you so sad?"
While stunned that the two Mobians actually noticed her earlier, the Mother Wisp made a sound that could only describe as a sigh before muttering. "*%#^ &$^ &^%^#% %$^% &$#^$^& ^$^^ %$."
"She says that she didn't meant to wake us up and that she couldn't sleep. She has had a lot on her mind lately." Tails translated once more.
"No offense, but I kinda noticed that since you found me and Amy. I mean, sure we kinda also noticed that some of your kids still want me and Tails to stay here even though the both of us do have to go back home eventually, but I know that you understand that too." The blue hedgehog admitted, scratching the top of his head.
"$& ^$&. # &$^^ *$#^ *$$%#&%^#^ %%^$#% %...$& ^&%^# ^...(I know. You and Tails have done so much for all of my children, especially Yacker, being so kind and caring that they all care for you just as you care for them and you both do have your own world and family and friends to go back to. It's just...)" The Mother Wisp nodded before looking away slightly.
Sonic's eyes widened slightly as he knew what this meant, realizing that he had been right all along. "You don't want us to leave. Like all of the Wisps, you want us to stay here forever, right?"
Hearing the young, very brave and kind blue hedgehog confirm it, the Mother Wisp nodded, beginning to tear up. "$^%* ^ &%*#&...$&%^^#%^ ^&$* ^$^%% &$, $^%^ %!%$&% ^$& ^ %$& &%^*%&$^% $%%^ % ^$%# ...^$^ !%#^$^$%#%...!(I'm so sorry...but yes, while I do not want to become like that horrible human Dr. Eggman and force you two to remain with us, a part of me did want to give into the desire of having you both here forever and ever, to make sure you are safe as our own on our planet, and I do want to keep you but I cannot force you against your will...I am so sorry to be this selfish for even feeling these feelings...!)"
Sonic and Tails were shocked to hear this before sharing a sympathized glance as this was the problem ever since they first came back to visit yet the Mother Wisp knew they had to go home, yet since they came back with their parents, uncle, Amy, Vanilla, Cream and Cheese, those desires and feelings came back and she was struggling with herself, especially when she really did want them to stay here, but at the same time she felt guilty for it. They looked back and felt their hearts shatter when they saw her begin to cry, giant tear drops falling.
Not wanting to see the gentle mother so sad, Sonic bravely approached the enormous Wisp and leaped onto one of the tentacles that were covering one of the giant eyes, holding on carefully in a kneeling position before he carefully stroked her face.
"Don't cry, Yacker's Mom. It's gonna be okay." He whispered in his attempt to comfort her, before he noticed Tails flying up and landed next to him a bit awkwardly, which made the giant Wisp to notice and carefully saw the two young Mobians on her tentacle. "You're not being selfish at all. You're worried about us like any mom would, and you and your kids don't want to say goodbye."
"Sonic's right, Mother Wisp. It is hard to say goodbye, but eventually we both do want to go back home. Almost everybody's like that, and the real big exception is Dr. Eggman. But you don't have to worry about him anymore." Tails added encouragingly.
"And it's not like we won't be coming back for a visit once we head back. There might be times when we're busy, but we can visit each other whenever we want. I promise it." Sonic smiled warmly, adding with a slight smirk. "And you can hold me as long as you want to tonight. I don't mind."
"Same here. We still have a few more days left before we go home anyway. You have our permission, Mother Wisp." Tails nodded, to which Sonic also nodded in agreement.
"Nothing makes anybody feel better than a hug anyway." The blue hedgehog continued.
The Mother Wisp stared at the two young Mobians in surprise, and by their understanding and sympathic expressions, they nodded their encouragements while giving her their permission to hold them, she felt her inner child beam happily while knowing that they were absolutely right. Despite being children themselves, they were mature enough to fully understand the meaning of life even though it is hard to accept it sometimes. She knew that they couldn't stay here forever, visits were always much better for everyone.
Giving her thanks to them, the Mother Wisp then used her own levitating powers to remove Sonic and Tails from the tentacle they were on top of before she used it to grab Sonic by the waist carefully but firmly with it while using another to wrap around Tails as well and held them both while bringing the two close into an embrace. The blue hedgehog and the two-tailed fox smiled before doing their best to hug her back, closing their eyes while cherishing this moment. She held them within her grasp while letting her desires to have them within her clasped tentacles as long as she wanted for the night.
Even though she still wanted to simply have Sonic and Tails stay here, having the imagination in welcoming her desires while declaring that they are all hers and that she and her children are keeping the two Mobians forever, she just let it be in her mind while pushing those thoughts away as a dream, pretending that they would accept and that they belonged to the Wisps, never letting them go ever again.
Not yet willing to let them go at the moment as she wanted to hold onto Sonic and Tails for a very long time, the Mother Wisp drew them away with a loving expression while the two brothers smiled back, before she had an idea and began to fly over the meadow to a place where she knew they haven't even seen just yet, making them yelp.
"Hey, where are you taking us, ma'am?" Sonic asked, while still being held within the tentacle of the giant Wisp along with Tails.
"&^%$%$^.(You will see, little ones.)" Said the giant Wisp knowingly with a gleam in her eyes as she held the two young Mobians, carrying them carefully.
"Where do you think she's leading us, bro?" The blue hedgehog asked the two-tailed fox who shrugged.
"I've got no idea." The younger Mobian responded.
While Sonic and Tails were wondering where the giant Wisp was taking them as they were currently held like toys in a firm but gentle grip which was tight enough to not be uncomfortable yet the huge alien mother obviously refused to let them go and they did give her permission to have them within her grasp as long as she wanted for the night, it wasn't long before they arrived at a grassy patch that was huge. The Mother Wisp then used her power to remove the patch which, to their surprise, lead into an underground tunnel with more flowers that glowed lighting it up.
The two best friends were stunned, as the giant mother that held them 'trapped' within her grasp then flew into the tunnel with no problems, leaving the heroes even more confused and curious. What was within this tunnel that the Mother Wisp wanted to show them?
When they then emerged within a huge cavern, Sonic and Tails were in awe as they saw that it was like they were inside a giant tree, with another giant tree within it, alien like but magnificent with leaves and flowers in a shape of a giant flower itself with several other huge flowers opened up as well, lights glowing among them and the leaves white as a full moon. It was magical.
"This is...way past cool!" Sonic breathed, his eyes lighting up. "I've never seen anything as beautiful as this before!"
"Wow! It's so lovely!" Tails agreed with a bright smile.
"&%($ %*. $^%* *%^ ^ *%&$ &%^%.(This is the Flower Tree of Light. We Wisps come here once every passing full moon to share our moment of love and happiness. I wanted to show you both before you were to return home.)" The Mother Wisp explained with the two-tailed fox translating for the blue hedgehog, before gently placing them onto two giant flowers that were surprisingly soft like giant pillows.
"Hey, this is really soft and comfy." The hero of Mobius remarked excitedly, and his best friend/little brother agreed, before they both gazed up at the giant mother with the former saying. "You wanna show us this moment before we go?"
She nodded and explained. "%^$&^ %$^$%% %^$. $^$% &$^% %$^% ^$#%$% .(We are having this ceremony tomorrow night. I thought it would be best to show you both before bringing the rest of your family and friends to ensure that they won't be afraid.)"
"This sounds like fun!" Tails remarked after he finished translating.
"Sounds good to me. I can't wait to see it!" Sonic agreed with a thumbs up. "It'll be like watching a festival back at home."
The Mother Wisp beamed that they agreed, and gently stroked them on their heads and bodies which made the two brothers laugh and giggle at the tickling touch, caressing them as she would to her children. Though she was a little sad that they would have to go home, she did wish she could see their world with her very own eyes.
For now, she was happy with this moment.
The next evening after Sonic and Tails were taken back to the others to get some more sleep, they explained partially on the late night small adventure and told their family and friends of a special surprise. Now as they and all of the Wisps lead Amy, Jules, Bernadette, Vanilla, Cream and Cheese into the Flower Tree Cave(which the two brothers decided to call it), all eight of them sat in the giant flowers while waiting for the ceremony to start.
"I wonder what this will be like? I can't wati for it to start." Amy wondered aloud as she was with both Sonic and Tails.
"It sounds really fun and pretty." Cream agreed excitedly with Cheese chirping.
Then, as all of the Wisps gathered together, they then glowed in bright colours of light and the Mobians and Chao were in awe, watching the beautiful performance of the Mother Wisp, Yacker and all of the other little aliens light up the blooming flowers which glowed and opened up and closed in a rhythm like a musical number. Then as Sonic and his family and friends watched and applauded with pure excitement, some of the Wisps including Sonic and Tails' best Wisp friend all flew into the flowers which closed up with them inside before other Wisps used their power to levitate them, opening up slightly with the aliens inside popping out and cheering, and then carefully placed them onto each branch of the Flower Tree of Light where the flowers opened up fully and they flew out, flying around the Mother Wisp and to the very top.
"WOW!" Sonic, Tails, Jules and Amy exclaimed in amazement while Bernadette, Uncle Chuck, Vanilla, Cream and Cheese went 'Ooooh!' at the spectacular sight.
Then as more Wisps did the same, some of them gazed at their audience below before gazing at their mother while asking in their language something, and she nodded, and then the smaller aliens flew towards their guests who wondered what was going on now. Suddenly the flowers all eight of them were in glowed much to their confusion before they all closed up with them inside, causing Sonic's group to suddenly cry out and scream in alarm when they found themselves swallowed up by their flower 'seats' which were then lifted up from the giant roots and carried them into the air.
"Hey, what's going on?" Sonic screamed out, a little frightened as he never thought he would be inside a closed up flower bud, but then it slightly opened up and he immediately poked out halfway as did the rest of his family and friends.
"Whoooooaaaa!" Tails cried out, while Amy whimpered slightly.
"Oh my! Why are they lifting us?" Bernadette cried out, not sure if she liked being flown into the air inside a half closed flower.
"Don't knooooow!" Sonic answered his mother, before he began to relax as he realized that this was completely harmless.
"Maybe they wanted us to join them?" Jules guessed.
"It could be. This is part of the ceremony." Sir Charles agreed.
Jade then flew in around Cream and her Chao and Mother, before flying around Amy, then to Tails while explaining to the young fox what was happening which made him successfully pull out his translator again.
"They wanted us to join them since we're all friends and family too before we go home." The nine year old explained, which almost instantly made them relax.
Sonic smirked and chuckled as his flower seat was then placed onto one of the tree branches. "Guess that means they wanted us to have fun at the party."
As the rest of his family and friends were also placed on the branches, each three Wisps then created energy spheres around them and had them levitate and fly in the same way as they saw moments ago, with Cream and Cheese cheering on, the rest of them laughing away as they all found this to be really fun, even Tails was enjoying himself, before they too reached to the very top with all of the other Wisps. To end the ceremony, the Mother Wisp then loomed over them once the seven Mobians and one Chao were gently set onto the flat part of the tree in the middle of several branches that glowed in white and all of the aliens shone brightly, unleashing a colourful display of sparkles which floated down like snow flakes.
"This is so beautiful." Vanilla commented, her hands clasped together.
"Wow!" Cream breathed in awe.
Just then, behind them more vines and leaves departed which had the group to turn around and wonder what was going on. To their amazement, the top and back of the cave opened up to reveal the sky with stars shining and this world's full moon shining down upon them and all of the Wisps, making the sight more beautiful as though they were floating in space surrounded by a wonderful sight.
"This is even more beautiful! I love it!" Amy breathed happily.
"Incredible!" Tails said, his sapphire eyes shining with a bright smile.
Sonic smiled warmly and happily, one hand on his hip as he remarked. "Now this is what I call a closing ceremony to a beautiful and awesome show."
Everyone agreed to this statement, as all of the Wisps cheered on happily to have shared this moment with each other, this time with their newest friends from another world, before some of the aliens again used their levitating abilities to lift Sonic's group into the air and carried them, to their surprise, to the Mother Wisp and then gently set them on top of her head where she and her children then slowly flew out of the cave and peered over their land before them, gazing at the night sky, every single one of them feeling peace, happiness and love with each other.
Smiling at this, Sonic brought both Tails and Amy close to him as they and the others gazed at the sky, wanting to live out this moment and cherish it in their memories forever.
"I can't wait to come back here again. Next time we'll bring the others so they can experience it themselves." Sonic said, and his best friend/little brother, girlfriend, mother, father, uncle and three friends all agreed as they knew that the rest of their friends would love to see and possibly experience what they saw and did today.
While they did have to go back home soon, the group knew that they couldn't wait to come back again for future visits.
For the time being, this has been the best vacation they ever had, the time when they spent a week on Planet Wisp, and the Mother Wisp knew that while Sonic and Tails could never live here and it was wrong to keep them, she couldn't wait for them to come back for another visit.
It was indeed the best moment of their entire lives.

I hope you all liked it, and I do apologize for making the Mother Wisp rather OC, but I wanted to do my best to have a bonding moment between her, Sonic and Tails and an ending that would be really happy and magical.
