Thank you pendora59, Unsuspecting, starrat, softsoundjameson, Asuka1920, Ori Heartlyng for the reviews~!
I apologize it took so long, I decided to edit all the chapters and re-read them as much as I could.
Also 'cause of the writer's block and busy schedule I've gotten. Oh, and college started once again too, so really I'm sorry for the huge delay.
A friend of mine suggested that insert the whole "How Akachan dies" scene since it might be confusing to new readers so I did :)
There are a few changes in that scene- which I kept on changing since I couldn't decide to change some details or change everything- which I decided later on to change some details only.
As a token of apology, I uploaded two new chapters :D
Disclaimer: BNHA is not mine. The only things I own are my original characters and some plots in this story.
English is not my first language, and writing stories is just a hobby, so I apologize for any mistakes made in the story.
*Note: these 'thoughts' are all from Akasuki unless said otherwise.
Italics like this without ' ' and with * * is the author breaking the fourth wall.
I hope you enjoy this chapter!
"WHO ASPIRES TO HELP MAKE THAT MILLION INTO A BILLION"
Akachan is still 16 years old
"Mou~ Izusagi really has bad timing!"
Nejire pouted as she lay down on a nearby sofa, crossing her arms sulkily, "Why does he have to get hurt when I'm matchmaking?!"
Tamaki, who is sitting on a loveseat with his legs tucked in his arms, glances at the periwinkle-haired girl sluggishly, "Is this the reason why you called us?", he deadpanned.
"You called us at 7 in the morning on a weekend just for a failed matchmaking?"
Nejire gave him a sheepish smile making Tamaki sink deeper on the loveseat, mumbling something barely audible to the other persons present in the room.
Let's just say Tamaki is not much of a... morning person.
The two of them are currently hanging out at Mirio's home, the redhead was determined to stay at the hospital thus only three out of the four friends are currently present.
"Midoriya-kun didn't plan to break his arms yesterday, Nejire-chan", Mirio reminded his friend while handing Tamaki his hot chocolate, who accepted it gratefully, before taking a seat on a sofa next to the indigo-haired boy.
"Have you visited him? He looks horrible, Nejire-chan"
Nejire deflated, feeling guilty at her outburst, her eyes widening as she gives Mirio her version of a 'puppy look' as Akasuki called it.
"I-I'm sorry", she apologizes, widening her eyes further much to the boys' disbelief, "Do y-you think Izusagi would appreciate some brownies when I visit him later?"
"I'm sure he'll love them, Nejire-chan", Mirio assured her with a smile, "In fact, I'll bring him some smoothie too! Let's all visit him!", he exclaimed while standing up abruptly, fist-pumping.
Tamaki let out a groan as he fell on the side of the loveseat face first, completely ignored by his two friends who started rambling on later's hospital visit.
'I wanna go home', he thought solemnly while mentally sobbing in despair.
He, with no choice, also visited Izuku together with his friends while wearing a matching 'Get well soon, Izusagi' pink shirt and carrying a box of egg-shaped chocolates.
Tamaki made sure to glare as much as he could at his redhead friend, who fell on the ground laughing upon seeing him.
Nejire following after the redhead prompts the indigo-haired boy to sulk at the right corner of the room.
"-and that should make it work!"
Sadao Genji stepped back with his hands on his hips and his chest puffed out as he looks at his new invention with pride.
"Here she is, my lovely Marc!"
Akasuki stood at the back of the underground laboratory, wearing a lab coat and protective goggles, watching amusingly as her father continues- and failing- to cackle like a mad scientist.
'I wonder if the craziness is genetic'
"What does 'Marc' do, dad?", the redhead girl queried while walking a few steps closer, peering down at her dad's new invention curiously.
Marc reminds her of a rip-off version of Baymax [1] but much smaller, about 4'ft tall, and more... red-ish.
A typical signature of her father's invention thanks to her and her mother's red hair.
However, unlike Baymax's carbon fiber skeleton built an inflatable and all, Marc is slimmer and metallic-ish.
It does have Baymax's two-dotted eyes face and all. It was quite cute. Fake and a bit looking like a rip-off but it's still cute nonetheless.
"Marc is short for Medical Assistance Rescue Care", Sadao begun explaining as he walked behind Marc and in front of his daughter, "She is designed to help field medics rather than hospitals"
"Thus, I also programmed her to learn a few fighting moves to be able to protect herself and the civilians"
Akasuki hummed thoughtfully, "But wouldn't that affect support heroes and field medics?", she asked with a raised eyebrow while crossing her arms, "That's kinda, oh I don't know, their job"
Sadao mimics his daughter, exaggeratingly raising his eyebrow while crossing his arms, "Inventions are made to improve our society", he rebutted, "And Marc is revolutionary!
"Aren't there already medical robots in I-Island, dad?", she asked with a pout, "Also, I thought we were supposed to work on improving my support item, PK remember?"
"Ah, right", Sadao let out a sheepish smile while rubbing the back of his neck, averting his gaze from her daughter's accusing gaze.
"I-I actually made you something!", the Genji patriarch blurted out before darting on the west side of the laboratory.
Akasuki sweatdrops at the noise of the fallen objects, or probably some of their creations, as her father, rummages through the shelves.
She highly doubts he got her something new and specifically just for her.
"Here it is!", Sadao exclaimed in triumph as he held up a... cube? A black cube with blue glowing highlights to be exact.
"I present to you Nanotechnology!", her father continues with a grin, "An in-trial invention of I-Island scientists! However do not fret, my dear daughter! This one I made just for you!"
Or on the other hand, her dad might have a surprise for her.
"But there's a reason it's still on trial, right?", Akasuki asked as she eyed the black cube warily, "It does look a bit unstable just by looking at the glowing highlights"
Her father puts his hand on his chest as he dramatically gasps at her comment.
"I feel offended at the fact my own daughter feels unsafe with my inventions!", he turns around dramatically, hugging the glowing cube in his chest, earning a groan from the redhead teen.
"Nate is a step towards evolution!", Sadao continues as he raises the glowing cube onto the air, looking similarly like the scene in the Lion King, "He's a key towards a whole new generation!"
'And there he goes with his monologues', Akasuki thought dryly as she pulled out her phone, completely ignoring her father's ongoing speech.
'Nate, shortcut to Nanotechnology? Just a bit more and I'll start thinking my father is a reincarnation of Tony Stark'
Her costume went from Black Widow to Iron Man without her knowing.
"It seems like you're visiting quite frequently, Kai-nee", Kazuhiko Fujitani stare at his older sister unamused at her sudden arrival.
Kaori Genji merely smiles shamelessly at her little brother with a basketful of snacks in hand, a form of bribery to him.
With a sigh of defeat, Kazuhiko accepts the basket earning a triumph squeal from his big sister.
Just to remind the dear readers, just in case you forgot him, he's the youngest among the three Fujitani siblings and currently the owner of the Fujitani hospital, their family business.
Fun fact, he is a Neurosurgeon while his older sister is a Pediatrician. Also, his quirk is-
Kazuhiko Fujitani
[Quirk: Emotional Security]
"A quirk that allows the user to make a person feel a sense of security. A useful quirk for a doctor."
Both Kazuhiko and Kaori have the influential emitter type of quirks inherited from their father, whose quirk can influence a persons' fears.
"So what's your excuse this time?", Kazuhiko asked as the two of them began walking, heading towards his office on the top floor of the hospital.
By the way, they're currently on the ground floor- where the ER is located.
"Actually I've been thinking about something recently", Kaori confessed while nervously rubbing her palms together, glancing at her little brother.
"I was hoping to... come back?"
The youngest Fujitani looks at his older sibling in surprise, not expecting that kind of response.
"Come back?", he repeated dumbfounded, "You mean, come back here in the hospital? Working?"
Kaori pouted at him, detecting a hint of disbelief from his tone.
"I just realized that with Akachan now a teenager, she's barely at home and I'm left often with an empty house", she explains, "Besides I resigned because-"
"-you retired", Kazuhiko cuts her off with a pointed look, "because your body cannot handle the stress of carrying another child"
"My child", the redhead woman emphasizes, "is now a teenager. A teenager who proves that she can take care of herself-"
"-You retired because your body became weak due to suffering multiple miscarriages and depression", Kazuhiko snapped as he stops walking and proceed to face Kaori, who pursed her lips as she stares back at her little brother.
"We agreed that you retire after your second", Kazuhiko continues with a sigh, "You still insist after, then your third became a stillborn- which we expected, and should I remind you of your mental state?"
"But my fourth child lives, Kazu", Kaori responded softly with a sad smile, "Akachan lives, she's healthy and alive! She's our miracle"
Kaori placed her hands on top of Kazuhiko's, caressing them gently as she sniffled quietly, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
"I'm going crazy worrying at home", she confessed, "I... I know I can't change her mind about becoming a hero but maybe- just maybe, I can help her at least in the healing department, you know?"
Kazuhiko let out a sigh, averting his eyes from the solemn puppy eyes his sister is giving him.
And there his resilience goes. Kazuhiko let out a sigh in defeat, 'Goddamnit it', he thought wearily.
"Fine", he gave in with an exasperated groan, earning a squeal of delight from the redhead woman.
"But!", Kazuhiko hisses as he held up his pointer finger, Kaori pursing her lips as she paused on her squealing.
"You're only allowed to do so with supervision- my supervision, you hear me?!"
Kaori Genji couldn't help but hug her little brother in delight.
Kazuhiko Fujitani let out a sigh as he mentally blames this situation on his niece.
Akasuki let out a pained groan as she landed on the ground defeated, Bubble Girl stood in front of her with a triumphant smile and a peace sign- an offer of apology.
Sir Nighteye, who is standing on the sidelines with Centipeder, merely watched the two hero-in-training with a stoic expression.
"I see that your [Data Crash] is, once again, a few seconds too late, Vermillion", Nighteye stated with a slight frown, "This particular move of yours is quite troubling"
'Don't I know it', Akasuki thought with a solemn nod while Bubble Girl helps her stand up.
By the pro-hero's term of 'troubling' is to the special move's downside.
If some of you might not remember- the thicker, or stronger, screens are the difficult or slower it is to make it explode.
Thus, here is our protagonist, sweating furiously as Sir Nighteye trains her exploding screen move.
"According to your records, the screens explodes almost 2 minutes later than your first", Sir Nighteye pointed out as he scans the contents of the clipboard in his possession.
"Currently it explodes within 3 to 5 minutes of an attempt", he continues while starting to saunter at the sidelines, "Your screens durability, however, could now withstand 10 to 15 minutes of attempts in breaking them"
'Worse minutes of my life', Akasuki thought dryly.
By attempts of breaking the screens, it means really breaking them.
Heavy punching- either the redhead heroine breaks them or they break her- not literally but hopefully you know what the author meant, using some metal pipes and repeatedly hitting them, carrying more people than usual- most likely rescued citizens.
She doesn't dare to drop them no matter how exhausting it is.
There are times when she and Mirio spar at Yuuei, and every time Mirio still manages to break them in just a few punches much to her disbelief.
Like, what the hell is Mirio eating?! Iron bars?!
Akasuki wish she got at least half of his strength.
"Personally, I would make this [Data Crash] move your trump card", Sir Nighteye continues nonchalantly, "All your screens are identical so the enemy wouldn't know which one would explode after a few minutes of fighting you"
"What you need is to be able to accurately time the explosion while in the middle of a fight"
Akasuki blinks while rubbing the back of her neck as she considers Sir's suggestion with a thoughtful expression.
"Then I would need to add a timer on my wristwatch then", the redhead mutters under her breath, "An easy fix, I think"
If my dear readers have forgotten, Akachan does have a wristwatch on her costume- the one looking similar to the futuristic wrist mini-computer screen seen in the movies.
Sir Nighteye halted on walking and sharply turn his head towards her, making the redhead flinch at her mentor's sharp gaze.
"You're not a frontline fighter, Vermilion", the foresight hero drawled as he slowly began stepping closer to the redhead heroine, who is still standing in the middle of the room.
Bubble Girl, the traitor, silently retreated where Centipeder is a few moments prior, offers Akasuki a sheepish smile.
"Not mention the effectivity of your new move [Cube Prison] is something, in my opinion, more variable than the [Data Crash]"
Akachan's new move, named [Cube Prison], is exactly what the name implies. Her red screens are used to make a cube-like cage, trapping a person or a group inside it.
Similar to how Kosei Tsuburaba, from Class 1-b, trapped Shinso with his power move [Air Prison].
Sir Nigtheye stopped just a few inches away from Akasuki, his piercing gaze still staring directly at her, "You don't need a powerful offensive move since your strength is your mind, not your body"
"What you need is a partner doing the heavy-hitting for you"
'So, basically, what I need is Mirio', Akasuki thought as she deadpanned at just how obvious Sir Nighteye is.
Mirio curled his hand into a fist and aimed at Izuku's stomach, which the green-haired boy barely manages to dodge making the blonde boy's grin widened further.
Sweat trickles down Izuku's forehead as he panted, determinedly looking at the blonde boy in front of him as he tries to predict his senpai's next move.
Unfortunately, he was a second too late and didn't manage to dodge Mirio's next attack resulting in him to fell on the ground with a groan.
Akasuki snorted as she watched Mirio snapped out from his 'battle craze' as she calls it and began to fuss over the fallen cinnamon roll.
She glances at the other side only to sweatdrop at the sight of Nejire playfully dodging his attacks while taunting Katsuki, who's shouting curses at her and demanding her to be serious.
And there's Tamaki, who is supposed to be her sparring partner, blissfully eating some snacks at the far right corner while, also, watching Nejire and Katsuki.
It's one of the days where the three of them don't have any school and work studies to attend. And she thought, hey why not try to train the two boys for their upcoming entrance exam.
Ultimately, she didn't know whether to be thankful that so far everything's going so well or worried that it's a 'calm before the storm' situation.
.
.
.
She just jinxed herself, didn't she?
"Yo Sukichan~"
Akasuki returns her attention to her female best friend, who is still floating in the air with an angry cursing pomeranian below her.
"I'm tired!", Nejire whines as she flies over the redhead, "Switch with me!", the periwinkle-haired teen demanded as she pokes the redhead's cheeks midair.
Katsuki, much to Akasuki's horror, perks up at Nejire's suggestion. His eyes brightening at the thought of sparring with his big sister.
"Yeah! Fight me, Ginger!", the pomeranian demanded as he began to aggressively tug the redhead toward's the other side of the outdoor gym, where he and Nejire are supposed to be sparring.
Akasuki glares playfully at her best friend, who merely let out an unapologetic grin while taking a seat beside Tamaki.
'Well, might as well get some training', the redhead thought dryly as she reluctantly began warming up for their spar.
"Go Akachan!", Mirio, who suddenly seating beside Tamaki's other side, cheered loudly with a bright grin.
"Y-Yeah! Go Akaneechan! Go Kacchan!", Izuku cheered, who can also be found seating beside Mirio with a pen and notebook on hand.
The redhead mentally curses at them, giving them mental stink eyes just for good measure.
Oh! Also, if any of the readers are wondering: Aren't training with quirks outside forbidden?
It's still is and don't worry, there are no laws broken nor any illegal doings happening at this moment.
They're currently at an outdoor training grounds owned by the FGC, Fuji-Gen Corporation, where most gadget testing takes place.
Akasuki managed, more like begged, to have access to the training grounds twice a month.
*I don't know about you guys but I definitely want to be as rich as Akachan's parents are.*
After a few minutes of warming up, their spar is finally starting.
Katsuki let out a grin while taking his stance after adjusting his mini earbuds-like hearing aids for a moment, small fireworks erupted from his palms as his stance widened.
Akasuki chuckles as she narrows her eyes playfully at her little brother, settling on her own fighting stance.
"You ready to lose, Katsun?", the redhead teased earning a scowl from the ash-blonde boy, "I'm going to fucking win, Ginger", Katsuki growls as his eyes glinted in determination.
A few seconds after that, the two rush on- Akasuki creating screens to step on for an aerial battle while Katsuki simply runs forward.
Needless to say, the redhead won the spar much to the ash-blonde's frustration.
Akasuki let out a sigh as she deadpans at Nejire, who is walking back and forth anxiously at the corner of her room.
She glanced to the side where Tamaki is currently seated, sending him a pointed look.
'Help me with this', she glanced back at the still anxious periwinkle-haired teen before looking back at the indigo-haired teen.
Tamaki merely deadpanned at the redhead that clearly screams 'That's your job, not mine' response from the teen.
The redhead gives him a stink eye, earning a shrug from the indigo-haired boy.
'Nice to have a great friend, gee thanks a lot'
With a defeated sigh, Akasuki turns to look back at her periwinkle-haired best friend.
"Nerechan", the redhead called out hesitantly, pausing briefly before continuing, "Don't you think you're... overreacting a bit there?"
Nejire halted and sharply look at the redhead, who flinch at the teen's intense gaze.
"It's been about an hour now", Nejire spoke slowly, albeit dazed, "Mirio-kun should still be competing since he hasn't messaged us"
Then, in a complete 360 change, Nejire looked at the redhead in panic, "Th-That's suppose how it is, right Sukichan?! That means Mirio's licensure exam is still ongoing and he hasn't failed again, right?!"
If you haven't guessed it, today's the hero licensure exam.
All Yuuei students who passed their previous exam were given a day off- meaning no classes today. It wasn't a loss since only half of the Yuuei students in the hero course were able to pass their hero licensure exams.
The three friends decided to spend their time waiting for the licensure exam in Akasuki's room- of course, Tamaki didn't escape her father's "fatherly concern" of having a boy enter his daughter's room.
The trio sent Mirio off, which a bunch of hugs and good luck charms offered to the blonde boy.
You readers should've seen his face, he was torn between crying and grinning- it was hilarious.
So, moving back to the present-
"We trained every day with Mirio these last few weeks", Akasuki reminded the periwinkle-haired teen, making sure to emphasize the 'everyday' part, "Didn't we all lost to him most of the time?"
"He kept on hitting our stomach", Tamaki paled at the reminder, caressing his stomach where Mirio hit him in their last spar, "I puked a lot too"
Akasuki patted the indigo-haired boy's shoulder solemnly, "He kept on breaking my screens too", the redhead added, albeit a bit bitterly, her eyes narrowing at the thought.
"It seems like more durability is needed after all"
All those training with Sir Nighteye seems nothing compared to Mirio's natural strength and this was before he even got to the Nighteye Agency.
What a scary potential he got.
"Why did Mirio didn't get his hero license last year?", Akasuki uttered out loud thoughtfully, trying to think of the reason Mirio told her why he didn't pass.
"He lost control of his quirk and ran naked through the stadium", Nejire let out a sigh as she sinks onto the floor, covering her reddening face with her hands.
"Sukichan, he got disqualified"
Akasuki blinks as she tries to remember the times where Mirio didn't get naked when they're sparring.
The redhead met Tamaki's gaze, who gave her a solemn nod- as if he accepted Mirio's cruel fate.
Er, well he's supposed to pass this year so he can be a part of the Nighteye's Agency so-
'He can do it', the redhead thought optimistically, trying to erase the thoughts of a naked Mirio, 'Y-Yeah! He can do it if he tries! Hard work!'
Fortunately, Mirio did pass this year's hero licensure exam.
"Woah, it's so much better than I expected!"
Akasuki raised an eyebrow, feeling somewhat offended by the remark, at Mirio- whose looking around the Nighteye Agency with shining eyes.
"I feel offended", the redhead commented dryly in the background, completely unheard by Mirio who is still looking around the Nighteye Agency in awe.
The redhead let out a sigh as the blonde boy continues to gawk and smile stupidly at the surroundings even while they're walking towards Sir Nighteye's office.
Akasuki let out a smile, slowing down her pace, as she spotted a certain blue-haired intern standing outside Sir Nighteye's Agency.
"It's nice to see you again, Ruko-senpai", Akasuki greeted Bubble Girl with a grin, which the blue-haired heroine has no trouble in replicating.
*If you're confused, Bubble Girl's real name is Kaoruko Awata according to the fandom*
Bubble Grin squeals as she pulls the redhead heroine in her arms for a hug, "You look like you grew taller from the last time I saw you, Akachan!", she exclaims cheerfully.
Akasuki chuckles as she returned the hug, "Yeah and I brought the company", she responded as the two women turn to look at Mirio.
"Mikun meet Ruko-senpai, full name Awata Kaoruko, also known as Bubble Girl- a pro-hero and Sir's sidekick", the redhead introduced after pulling away from the hug and turn to face the blonde teen.
"Ruko-senpai, this is Togata Mirio, also known as Lemillion- the new intern Sir Nighteye is anxiously waiting for", the redhead ended with a playful wink earning a chuckle from the blue-haired heroine.
Mirio sheepishly rubs the back of his neck, his cheeks reddening at what the redhead said, before greeting Bubble Girl with a short bow.
Bubble Girl waves her hand dismissively, "Oh none of that!", she insists while moving closer to shake his hand, "I'm glad to have another person here at the agency, Togata-san!"
Mirio grin while replicating the gesture, "It's nice to meet you too, Awata-san"
"Sir Nigtheye is waiting for you inside", Bubble Girl continues, pulling away from the handshake and taking a sidestep, "I do hope you'll pass his test", she added cheekily.
Akasuki let out a snort as she appeared behind the blonde teen, who was startled when she suddenly appeared behind him without him knowing.
"Mikun would just enter the room and instantly get accepted", she commented dryly as she pushes, with all her effort, Mirio towards Sir Nighteye's office.
Which the redhead doubts she could do with her strength. So she's 100% sure Mirio is humoring her by walking forward.
Damn his height and weight, why can't she be a bit muscular?!
"You're going to be fine", Akasuki assures Mirio as soon as the two stood side by side a few inches away from the door.
The redhead turns to face the blonde teen, looking up because he's so damn tall.
"You know, I can never forget the reason why you chose the name Lemillion", she said softly as a small smile appeared on her face.
"You chose 'Lemillion' because knowing you can't save anyone, you want to be a hero who-"
"-aspires to save at least one million people", Mirio ended with a smile, his eyes softening as he gazes directly at the redhead's cerulean eyes.
Akasuki grins as she placed a hand on Mirio's forearm, "It's no brainer that Sir would welcome you with open arms", she pointed out with a knowing look.
"Thus, let me tell you my oath to you as your partner-in-crime"
"Now, I don't know about that Akachan", Mirio responded teasingly, "I'm aiming to be a pro-hero, not a villain, you know"
Akasuki scoff at his remark, lightly slapping the blonde's forearm earning a laugh from her soon-to-be crime-fighting partner.
"Oh gosh, just listen to me!", she cried out as the blonde teen continues to laugh, making the redhead heroine pout.
"I'm going to say this once so if you're not listening it's not my fault!", she steps back, away from the blonde teen, and crossed her arms.
"Lemillion, the one who aspires to save at least a million", she exclaims as seriously as she could making Mirio sober up from laughing and look at the redhead as seriously as he could.
"I, Vermilion, promise you this", Akasuki continues, a grin forming on her face as she finishes her oath.
"I will become a hero who aspires to help you make that million into a billion"
