"Alright, who here has a Pokémon on them." Ash asked the group. Only the curator raising his hand.
"I have my Kabutops with me." He said.
"Okay you're all set. Parker, where is Tyrouge?" Ash asked.
"I didn't think I'd need him. It was going to be a simple mission." Parker defended.
"Always be as prepared as you can be." Ash said, grabbing Pokeballs. "In case we get separated, use these." Ash said going to each kid. "Lauren, meet Meganium. Petal Dance, Vine Whip, Body Slam, and Solar Beam. Brittany, meet Dracovish. Fishous Rend, Ice Fang, Crunch, Dragon Rush. Xavier, meet Sirfetch'd. Meteor Assault, Leaf Blade, Brave Bird, and Swords Dance. Parker, here's Cufant. Rollout, Iron Defense, Tackle, and Rock Smash."
"Wait they get loyal Meganium, powerful Dracovish, honorable Sirfetch'd and I get the newbie!" Parker argued.
"Be happy with the role you have, not the one you don't." Ash said. "Besides, hopefully you won't need them. Now let's get moving."
"What is this place?" Lauren asked, looking around.
"Well it's definitely not ancient." Parker said. "That or computers haven't changed much in the past couple hundred years."
"A computer?" Ash asked turning to see the large monitor. "If it works, we can send a message out!"
Elsewhere
"Sir, I have urgent news. It seems one of our abandoned labs has been infiltrated."
"Which one is it, and it's likely nothing." The man said.
"It's the project M2 lab, and we have security footage of six people in there."
"Attention elite troops, we are moving out immediately." The man said, an alarm blaring.
Back at the underground lab
"Nothing!" Ash said slamming his fists down. "Stay together, something isn't right here."
"Isn't that why you gave us the Pokémon though?" Parker asked.
"I gave them in case of an emergency, but until we know more, this isn't a research mission, this is a get out of here mission." Ash said. "Whatever Professor Cerise has taught you so far, forget it. You are now on my mission, and if I say run you run. Got it." Ash commanded, not waiting for an answer.
"Prepare for trouble you truly deserve."
"And make it double, we've learned to observe."
"To infect the world with devastation."
"To blight all people in every nation."
"Will you four knock it off and stick to the plan."
Walls shot up separating the group.
"Kids!" Ash yelled, as he saw them disappear.
In the segment with Xavier and Lauren
"Well they aren't our normal twerps, but they are… twerpish." Jessie commented.
"Hey take that back!" Lauren said shakily.
"Or what, you'll stammer us into submission?" James joked. As Seviper and Carnivine came out from the shadows.
"Nows as good a time as any." Xavier said. "Sirfetch'd use Meteor Assault!"
"Great idea! Meganium come out and help with Body Slam!"
Sirfetch'd leapt out of his pokeball and jabbed his leek at Carnivine, as Seviper was pinned by Meganium.
"Jessie, these twerpish kids, have some familiar Pokemon." James said.
"No matter, they don't have the experience the twerp has." Jessie said with a serious tone. "Seviper use Poison Tail!"
"Good idea, Carnivine use Power Whip!"
Carnivine and Seviper easily pushed their opponents back off of them.
"Sirfetch'd use Brave Bird!"
"Meganium use Petal Dance!"
The next segment over, with Brittany and the Curator
"Kabutops use Slash!"
Kabutops started slicing at the metal wall, attempting to break through it.
"That won't work." A woman's voice said. "Granbull use Thunder Fang"
"Raticate use Super Fang!"
"Dracovish stop them with Fishous Rend!"
Dracovish charged at the opposing Pokemon, blocking their attacks from hitting Kabutops.
"Kabutops, help out and use Aqua Jet!"
"Dracovish use Dragon Rush!"
"Raticate use Hyper Fang!"
"Granbull use Play Rough!"
Granbull tackled Dracovish to the ground, stopping the Pokemon from him attacking Raticate, while Kabutops slammed into the weak spot he'd made in the wall.
In the third area, with Parker
"Rhyperior use Rock Blast!"
"Dusknoir use Shadow Ball!"
"Toxicroak use Brick Break!"
"Skuntank use Flamethrower!"
Parker cowered in fear of the four attacks. Just his luck, he had Ash's least experienced Pokemon, with him against these people called the Matori Matrix.
"Fant!" Cufant cried out standing between the attacks and Parker.
"Be happy with what I have, not what I don't." Parker said in realization. "Cufant use Rollout!"
Cufant spun towards the opposing Pokemon, crashing into the wall, denting it before bouncing back like a ball.
Back with Lauren and Xavier
"Sirfetch'd use Meteor Assault!"
"Meganium use Body Slam!"
"Seviper get out of the way!"
"Carnivine stop the bird with Wrap!"
Meganium charged into the wall, breaking down a hole in the wall.
"Why am I not surprised you two have caused us problems." Cassidy said running to her Granbull who was now pinned.
"We've been taking care of our problems, just fine!" Jessie argued.
"Real tough, what are they third graders?" Butch taunted.
"Yours aren't much better Biff, a child and a senior citizen." James commented.
"Its Butch! You know that!" Butch yelled.
"Should we be stopping them?" Lauren asked.
"In just a minute, that Bill guy looks like he's ready to punch the others." Xavier commented.
"Are you two okay? Wheres Ash and Parker?" The curator asked.
"They aren't with you!?" Lauren said worriedly.
"Focus on that later, we need to stop them, any ideas?" Brittany said. "Let's all attack at once."
"Good idea. Sirfetch'd use Brave Bird!"
"Meganium use Solar Beam!"
"Dracovish use Dragon Rush!"
"Kabutops use Stone Edge!"
In the fourth area
"It's been a while." Ash said calmly, to the shadowy figure approaching him.
"You've been a problem for too long, and this is the final straw." Giovanni said with an authoritative tone. "Persian use Night Slash!"
"Pikachu stop it with Iron Tail!" Ash called out.
Persian was easily flung back, a far cry from their last fight.
"You've gotten better since Unova." Giovanni complemented. "Mind you, you are nowhere close to where I was at your age."
"I don't want to be compared to an evil psycho anyways." Ash said, reaching for more Pokémon. "Right, only one left." Ash realized.
"It's a pity, had things gone differently, you would have been my second in command easily." Giovanni said. "It's too late for that though, Persian use Power Gem! Nidoking use Sludge Bomb!"
"Pikachu dodge with Quick Attack!" Ash called out. He needed a clean opening for his other Pokémon, and he couldn't find one.
"I'll make sure no one can ever find you." Giovanni said. "Persian redirect your attack, use Slash on the child."
"Drago!" Dragonite called out, wrapping her arms around Persian.
"What! You didn't call out a move!" Giovanni said, losing his composure.
"I didn't need to. Dragonite just loves giving hugs." Ash said. "Switch partners, Pikachu use Thunderbolt on Persian, and Dragonite you use Hyper Beam on Nidoking!"
Back with Parker
"Cufant!" Parker cried out as the Pokémon fell on its side, defeated. The elephant had caused a fair bit of damage to the walls, but not so much to the opposing Pokemon.
"Dracovish! Use Dragon Rush!"
Dracovish charged through one of the walls into the Toxicroak, sending it into a wall.
"Parker!" Brittany shouted.
"Bad guys!" Parker said pointing at the Matori Matrix group.
"We've got this." Brittany said. "Dracovish use Fishous Rend!"
"Sirfetch'd use Leaf Blade!" Xavier exclaimed.
"Meganium use Body Slam!" Lauren shouted.
"Kabutops use Stone Edge!" The curator shouted.
"Parker, are you alright?" Brittany asked.
"I'll be fine, but Cufant…". Parker said solemnly.
"Cufant will be fine. Go through that hole, their trucks had to come from somewhere, then call for help." Brittany said.
"But you guys." Parker began.
"Have Pokémon that can still fight, right now I need you to get help." Brittany argued.
"Okay, I'll be back as soon as I can." Parker relented.
Back with Ash and Giovanni
"Give it up." Ash said between breaths. Pikachu and Dragonite had taken down a total of seven Pokémon, and Giovanni seemed as calm as ever.
"Don't you wonder what I had accomplished by your age?" Giovanni said. "I had organized most of the crime in both Kanto and Johto. Now what do you think will happen, if I am taken away."
"You're saying that you're keeping peace by being a villain?" Ash said.
"Good, bad. Those are just titles, but yes with me gone, it's only a matter of time until chaos erupts." Giovanni said. "You're hardly the first trainer to have cornered me, and they all realized I was of more use in charge."
"Not happening." Ash said confidently. "Dragonite, hold him."
"You're making a mistake." Giovanni said. "We could've ruled together."
"For the amount of years you've been in charge, it's likely any groups you merged have forgotten their time before it, and with you out of the picture, your employees will likely scatter." Ash said.
"Ash!" A voice called out.
"Goh, find the others! I'm all good here!" Ash said.
"Goh, as in the one who's been looking for Mew for all this time." Giovanni said. "I happen to know plenty about that Pokemon."
"And why should we trust you." Ash said.
"Where do you think I created Mewtwo." Giovanni spat. "Right here, is where it started."
"Goh, don't fall for it." Ash tried intervening.
"Fall for what, you know I'm the one who created him, why wouldn't I know how to find the original." Giovanni said.
"Not going to happen." Goh said, walking up. "I'll find Mew myself, or not at all."
"The world will go into chaos, you'll regret this." Giovanni said as police flooded the chambers. "Without me, Team Rocket will over run the streets, and Mew will remain lost to time."
Later back at the lab
"Ash, thanks for your leadership today." Professor Cerise said.
"I wish I could take credit for this, but they did most of the work themselves." Ash said, looking at the four kids. "Looks like a leader emerged among them."
"Brittany, never would have pictured her as a leader, but I'm glad they have one, just like the others have you." Professor Cerise said.
"Hey Professor, can I talk to Ash for a bit." Goh asked.
"Go right ahead." Professor Cerise said calmly. "I need to talk to the kids' parents anyways."
"So what's up Goh?" Ash asked, as they walked outside onto a balcony overseeing the park.
"Do you think we made the right choice?" Goh said. "Not taking the offer for finding Mew, or even by letting them be arrested."
"Jessie and James have been a problem ever since I was ten. As for the rest of them, I think it's for the best." Ash said. "And with Mew, we've found him once before, how far can he really be?" Ash asked.
Meanwhile, on the roof just above them, a pink tail floated away.
