So as this was a point brought to my attention. Why does Goh have Scyther? He never trained with Wikstrom in this reality. The last episode to happen before part 1 Chapter 1 was episode 1138, Chloe & The Really Mysterious Eevee. Any episodes after that either didn't play out that way, or didn't happen at all. I've tried to avoid using the anime's plot lines for chapters.
"Okay team, tomorrow is an important day, after our complications in the Crown Tundra, the research committee is coming to investigate our lab work." Professor Cerise sighed.
"So where are you sending us off this time?" Ash asked.
"Nowhere, the four of you are needed to prove that we have things under control, show them your research work. Goh present some controlled captures, Ahs show your mastery of moves, Chloe show the steps going into each legend we look into, Serena, your research is actually not under question, you're safe." Professor Cerise said.
"Guys, if our research on legendary Pokémon is being investigated, we should probably hide Urshifu, Naganadle, and the Regis with Guzzlord." Chloe commented.
"No, far from that. We need them to see your control over those powerful Pokémon. Ash, thankfully Guzzlord isn't on any records as yours, but get a handle on Regieleki." Professor Cerise informed.
A bit later, in the lounge
"All of our hard work, and it might all go away." Chloe said. "We were in complete control back there."
"No we weren't, I don't blame them for investigating us." Ash said. "It took all of my Pokémon just to defend our group, and that included four legendary Pokémon."
"Two Ultra Beasts, but fair enough." Goh added.
"That's it, I know how to prove that we're in control." Seren said. "Just stall them as long as you can."
The next day
"You'll be pleased to see the work out team has accomplished." Professor Cerise said. "If you follow me through here, I'll show you our research method."
"Serena better hurry up with whatever her plan is." Ash said. "I just hope she knows what she's doing."
A while later
"If you'll follow me outside, you'll see the Pokémon our team has caught and trained to battle the dangers that they may encounter." Professor Cerise said.
"Now how many of these were the younger teams Pokemon?" One representative asked.
"Just one, a Tyrouge. They were only beginning so they haven't amassed a group of their own just yet." Professor Cerise explained.
"And yet you sent them on dangerous missions, with no regards for their safety?" A second representative said.
"No, they were sent on local starting research, to get them introduced to the material, our older team was still handling the more dangerous or difficult research." Professor Cerise said.
"Then why were both teams present during the events occurring in southern Galar?" A third representative asked.
"Unforeseen consequences on what was supposed to be a relaxing time away from the lab." Professor Cerise reassured. "I promise you, we have everything under control."
Meanwhile
"Please don't break free. Please don't break free." Serena said, holding a safe. Inside of it was a Pokeball, and a set of filmed archives.
Back at the lab
"I see several legendary Pokémon, are they owned?" The second representative asked.
"Yes, each of our senior researchers is the owner of a Regi, and our battle expert has the legendary Urshifu working with them as well." Professor Cerise boasted.
"Where is your resident battling expert? We've met everyone else already?" The third representative said.
In Ash's aura tree
"Okay Guzzlord, I have no idea what Serena's plan here is, but I need you to work with me today, can you do that?" Ash asked.
The beast ball flashed twice.
"Good to know we're at least on the same page." Ash said, exiting the tree.
"Ash, there you are, what great moves do you have to show the group here." Professor Cerise half begged.
"Well, I have Z Moves, mega evolution, but there is something else we have planned." Ash said. "If you'll follow me to our outdoor battle arena."
"Ash, I see you got the same instructions, question is, why are we here?" Goh asked.
"For this!" Serena shouted, running out with a safe. "This is what we need to show what we're capable of." She said opening it up.
"Is that?" Ash asked.
"I think it is." Goh said. "Are you sure this is a good idea?" He whispered.
"I don't think we have many other choices, these are our best representatives of how we handle things, now show them your control over two literal apocalypses." Serena cheered on.
"Here goes everything." Ash, Goh, and Professor Cerise said in unison.
"Guzzlord I choose you!"
"Come on out Eternatus!"
"As you can see, these incredibly powerful Pokémon, that are normally kept safely sealed away, are under complete control by our two top trainers." Professor Cerise bluffed.
"Eternatus use Dynamax Cannon!" Goh commanded.
"Guzzlord use Dragon Rush!"
Guzzlord charged through the blast, tackling the giant snake to the ground.
"Now while they do have control of the situation, I would recommend we at least go a safe distance away." Professor Cerise urged.
"Eternatus use Dragon Pulse!"
"Guzzlord use Crunch!"
Guzzlord clamped down on Eternatus, as the legendary flailed about trying to line up a shot.
"Eternatus use Flamethrower!"
"Guzzlord use Giga Impact!"
Guzzlord continued his assault on the larger legendary, not allowing itself to be hit.
"Eternatus use Dynamax Cannon!"
Guzzlord was stuck recharging, as he was blasted back by the beam.
"Guzzlord, let's give them a taste of our medicine. Use Devastating Drake!"
Guzzlord launched back up, sending a flurry of attacks at Eternatus, the two gone crashing to the ground.
As Professor Cerise directed the group safely back to the building, he got a message on his phone to bring them to the main lab area. Inside was the archive footage of the team stopping the Eternatus attack, Sordward and Shielbert's plans, Ash's Alola League defense, all the evidence they could have to keep the lab opening, playing on various screens.
Later that evening
"Great work, all of you." Professor Cerise said.
"So we're good, the lab stays open?" Chloe asked.
"I can't say for certain, but showing your control over Eternatus, Goh I didn't think you could." Professor Cerise said.
"That makes two of us." Goh said, still in shock.
"For now we continue as normal, we will hear back from them in the coming weeks." Professor Cerise sighed.
"Professor, we're sorry that this is happening." Ash said.
"It's not your fault. I know I was angry with you back when it happened, but we all knew the risks when we started looking for the Regis. All we can do now is hope this clears up." Professor Cerise sighed. "We'll make it through this, don't worry."
