Ash sat fiddling with the hem of his dress. Per Alain's instructions, he had dined at the most expensive and exclusive restaurant in Lumiose City. It even had a dress code. Looking down at his light blue dress, with a white shawl, and a pair of black heels, he felt like he was on a fancy date. Except his date was drinking a bottle of ketchup.
"I hope everything today was to your liking Ma'am." The waiter said.
"It was, and I would like to give my compliments to the chef." Ash said. This was key, Siebold of the Kalos elite four would only accept a challenge outside of the Pokémon league with that very phrase, this was his restaurant after all.
Several forks around the restaurant were heard clattering to their plates. Many patrons knew of the owners main job, but having a challenger here was a rarity.
"Very well, he will come out shortly. I suggest you be ready, he is a busy man." The waiter said, flipping a switch on his way to the back.
Ash stood up from his table as all tables and chairs smoothly glided across the restaurant floor, leaving enough room for an arena in the center. Ash pulled out his phone, sending the challenge message out, as the floor opened up revealing a water arena with platforms scattered across it, a safety barrier rising up so as to not hurt the onlookers.
"Pikachu, when we get back to Vermillion, we have to get a water arena installed." Ash said assuredly.
"Pika!" Pikachu said in agreeance.
"So you are my opponents Ash and Pikachu." Siebold said, approaching the platform opposite them. "I hope you understand I battle just as flawlessly as I cook."
"I'll be the judge of that." Ash said, grabbing a Pokeball.
'This will be a three on three match, trainers at your ready.' The Rotojudge said.
"Ready." Siebold said confidently.
"Ready." Ash replied.
'Battle begin.' The Rotojudge cried.
"Clawitzer I choose you!"
"Come on out Corphish!"
"Clawitzer use Aura Sphere!"
"Corphish use ViceGrip!"
Corphish used the platforms to his advantage, leaping from one to the next, avoiding Clawitzer's attack until he was in range.
"Clawitzer use Dark Pulse!"
"Corphish use Crabhammer!"
Corphish was launched back, floating into the water.
"Clawitzer use Dragon Pulse!"
"Corphish use Crabhammer!"
Corphish sped forward, narrowly dodging the attack.
"Clawitzer into the water, use Dark Pulse!"
"Corphish use Bubblebeam!"
Corphish was less experienced in underwater combat, getting blasted out of the water, already defeated.
"Corphish come back." Ash said. "Pikachu, you're up."
"Clawitzer use Water Pulse!"
"Pikachu use Quick Attack!"
Pikachu leapt through the air, spinning through the pulse, landing behind Clawitzer.
"Now use Thunderbolt, aim for the center platform!"
The bolt of electricity hit the center platform, sending sparks throughout the entire pool.
"Clawitzer use Dragon Pulse!"
"Pikachu use Double Iron Tail!"
Pikachu sliced through the attack, spinning around and hitting Clawitzer straight on his head, slamming the lobster Pokémon into the bottom of the pool.
"Clawitzer return." Siebold said. "Gyarados, come on out!"
Unlike most Gyarados, this one was able to stay in the air with ease.
"Impressive. Pikachu let's come back, we've got a surprise too." Ash said.
"If you're referencing the so called Ash-Greninja, I'm aware of it." Siebold said.
"Then it's a good thing this surprise is out of this world. Naganadle, come on out!" Ash said.
"Gyarados use Ice Fang!"
"Naganadle use Thunderbolt!"
As Gyarados closed in, he was hit by the attack, surgi through his long body.
"Gyarados use Earthquake!"
"Naganadle use Sludge Bomb!"
Naganadle narrowly dodged the water shooting up, as he launched a counter attack on Gyarados.
"Gyarados use Ice Fang!"
"Naganadle use Thunderbolt again!"
Naganadle lined itself up shooting a blast through Gyarados again, sending the Pokémon falling back to the ground, water splashing out of the pool.
"I guess getting my money back on this isn't an option." Ash said, now dripping in water.
""Gyarados use Waterfall!"
"Naganadle use Dragon Pulse!"
Gyarados used the remaining water, to send a blast of it firing upwards at Naganadle, the ultra beast getting hit back, their attack going way off course.
"Gyarados use Ice Fang!"
"Naganadle use Sludge Bomb!"
Naganadle began spinning, the sludge bomb going out of its needle as a spiral, enveloping Gyarados, the water snake falling back to the ground in defeat.
"Gyarados return. It's time for your final course." Siebold said. "Blastoise, come on out!"
Blastoise landed at the bottom of the now drained pool, a mega stone clearly on its forehead.
"Blastoise, Mega Evolution activate!" Siebold commanded.
"That won't stop us. Naganadle use Dragon Pulse!"
"Blastoise use your own Dragon Pulse!"
Blastoise's attack easily overpowered Naganadle's, sending the dragon into the barrier.
"Blastoise use Skull Bash!"
"Naganadle use Thunderbolt!"
Blastoise retreated into its shell, as it was blasted by the electricity.
"Naganadle get out of its way!" Ash said.
"Blastoise, now!"
Blastoise leapt high into the air, slamming into Naganadle, then using its weight to land on top of the Pokémon.
"Naganadle, return! Pikachu, you're back on." Ash said. "Use Discharge!"
Electricity lit up the soaked battlefield, Ash shielding his eyes from the flash.
"Blastoise use Hydro Pump!"
"Pikachu use Iron Tail on one of the platforms!"
Pikachu flipped the platform up just in time for the attack to bounce right off of it.
"Now use Quick Attack!"
"Use Power-Up Punch!"
Pikachu easily outsped the mega, striking it before Blastoise could even react.
"Now use Thunderbolt!"
"Use Skull Bash!"
The shell absorbed a large amount of the electricity, keeping Blastoise relatively safe.
"Now Pikachu use Iron Tail!"
"Blastoise go now! Quickly!"
Pikachu ran up to Blastoise, striking the shell with an Iron Tail, sending it bouncing around like a pinball.
"Pikachu get out of there!" Ash called out.
"Pika." Pikachu said defiantly, readying another Iron Tail.
The attack was enough to send Blastoise careening into a wall, clearly defeated.
'Blastoise is unable to battle, the winner is Ash and Pikachu.' The Rotojudge announced.
"I'll admit, you battle just as amazing as you cook." Ash said, shaking Siebold's hand. "But there's nothing I'm better at than battling."
"Big words for such a young one." Siebold remarked. "However a win is a win, I hope you stop by again in the future."
"Yeah, I don't know how many times I can afford to eat here in the future." Ash admitted.
"Our prices are high for good reason." Siebold said calmly. "I wish you luck in your future battles."
