Chopper and Law entered the Kitchen and told everyone that all the injured citizens had been treated and they could leave when ever. Sora had contacted Germa and ordered one hundred of the soldiers to come help the citizens rebuild and to not bring any weapons.
"Alright. Then sense it's getting late, let's leave in the morning," Nami's said once Sora was off the transponder snail.
"But I promised that Sebastian guy's wife a first class meal cooked by me..." Sanji said, once again looking at his injured hand.
"You can't right now, Sanji-kun... Unless..." Nami said, thoughtfully.
"Hmmm?" Sanji said looking up to her.
"You're ambidextrous, aren't you?" She said turning to him.
"Yeah... When I'm cooking anyway. Why?" (Seems like he is to me anyway. Most of the time he uses is right hand when cutting vegetables and stuff but he has used two knives before and had no problem using them so I would say he is.)
"Then I'll be your right hand," she smiled.
Sanji tilted his head to the side and raised a brow.
"Franky, Usopp, can I talk to you two a moment?" Nami said, standing up and walking out of the kitchen, Franky and Usopp. followed.
Nami returned twenty minutes later. Sanji watched as she came to sit next to him on the bench.
"We'll go have dinner with them in about two hours," She said, smiling at him.
Sanji looked at her dumfounded. How could they when he couldn't cook? Nami was up to something and Sanji was feeling a little uneasy about it... He was just glad she asked to talk to Franky and Usopp rather than Law. That plan would have consisted of cutting off his hand and reattaching someone else's and that was not something he was willing to do. Where as with Franky and Usopp, it probably involved some strange contraption... Which he still wasn't willing to use but it was better then having Law use his freaky powers to cut off his hand.
An hour later the two came back into the kitchen with a set of crutches.
"Here, bro. One normal crutch and one specially designed so you don't have to use your hand. And Chopper will know if you don't use them."
"And so will I," Nami said, grabbing his ear.
"Ow! Ow! Ow! Okay, okay, Nami-San! I'll use them! I'll use them!"
"Promise?"
"Yes!"
"Yes, what?"
"I promise! I promise."
"Good," she said, letting go of his ear. She stood up and took Sanji's left hand to help him stand up.
Franky handed Sanji the normal crutch. Usopp help him with the other, wrapping a strap around his upper arm.
"Is that too tight?" He asked before buckling it.
"It's fine Usopp. You guys sure this is going to be of any help? It doesn't seem like I'll be able to put weight on it," Sanji asked as Usopp buckled to strap on his lower arm.
"Do you doubt are skills, bro?"
"Of course not... Oi, Usopp, that ones a bit tight," He said when Usopp got to the last one around his wrist.
"Sorry," he said loosening it by one notch. "Better?"
"Yeah."
"Alright. Let's go," Nami said. "Thanks, Usopp, Franky. Your debts will be reduced by five percent," she said going to the fridge and grabbing some ingredients.
"SENCE WHEN DO WE HAVE DEBTS!" They said as she walked to the door with Sanji.
"Bye," she said waving to them before closing the door.
"Do they really have a debt? I thought Zoro was the only one right now."
"He is. I'll take five percent off their next debt."
"Why do I get a feeling that you won't really."
"Sanji-kun! How could you of all people doubt me!"
"I don't. I just know you and how much you love movie."
"Okay. If you promise me that you won't be stubborn about the crutches then I'll promise to follow through with taking five percent off their next debt."
"Mmm... I think I can live with that."
Nami picked a beautiful spot on the beach were you could see the sunset for their dinner with Sebastian and his wife. She has went back to the ship and had Franky and Usopp bring Sanji's grill out to the beach while she grabbed anything else they would need, she already had the ingredients so they just needed the utensils and a table cloth. She made Sanji stay behind and sit down at a picnic table so he wouldn't be on his leg to long.
"Sanji-kun! I'm back with Franky and Usopp!"
"Where do you want this, Bro?" Franky asked, carrying the grill.
"Just set it up here," he said, pointing to the end of the table.
"Usopp, hand Sanji-kun the bag of cooking utensils and help me with the table cloth."
"Why are you always so bossy..." Usopp muttered handing the bag to Sanji.
Sanji kicked him in the shine, the best he could while sitting down, with his left leg. It wasn't as strong a kick as he would have liked but it made his point.
"Ow! What was that for!"
"DON'T CALL MY NAMI-SWAN BOSSY!"
Usopp and Franky finished up and went back to the ship.
"Nami-San, you know I love you but... I'm still confused on you're plan."
Nami chuckled before sliding the bag of food to were Sanji was sitting and sat down next to him. She took the bag Usopp had handed him and pulled out a cutting board and Sanji's favorite knife.
"I'm still not getting it. I can't cook right now or..." he cut himself off unable to say it out load.
"You will in a second. I know it's not what you were wanting to cook for this but given the circumstance, how about your delicious shish kabobs? I know it's not typically considered gourmet but if you ask me everything you cook is gourmet." She said taking out a package of skewers and some meats and vegetables.
Sanji notice that there was a baby transponder snail in the bag as well. He also observed that there was more then enough food here for four people.
"Yeah, that's fine," he said smiling at the compliment. "What's the baby transponder snail for?"
"Just in case we need to contact the others bag as the ship or they need to contact us. Why?"
"Can I see it a sec?"
Nami took it out of the bag and handed it to Sanji.
"Niji?" She asked with a smile.
"Maybe..." he said as the snail back at the ship rang and Robin picked up.
"Hello. Do you two need anything else?"
"Hi, Robin-Chan. Is Niji there?"
"Yes, here he is."
"What do you want," came Niji's voice.
"I'm giving you exactly twenty minutes to get Cosette and get your ass to the beach. If you're not here by then, then don't bother coming... but Cosette still can, if she wants too," he didn't bother letting Niji answer before hanging up and turning to Nami. "Okay so how am I going to cut all this with out using my right hand?"
"First off, I know you normally stand when doing anything involving cooking but with your leg, I'm not letting you do that the hole time. Second, you cut, I'll hold the food."
"I don't know if that's such a good idea... I cut fast... what if I accidentally cut you?"
"You won't," she smiled.
"You don't know that."
"I know how careful you are. And I know you have haki. And I know Observation Haki is your forte. Didn't I tell you that I'd be your right hand?"
'...But I'll take the use of at least one hand and your ability to cook. That way, even your crew will find you useless' His so called father's words played trough his mind as he watch Nami's smiling face. There was no trace of truth to those words on that beautiful face. No hint or even the slittiest twitch in her features that indicated that told him she was thinking what Judge had hoped... But he'd been deceived before... Could there been some truth to Judge's words? He pushed the thought out of his mind, hiding it well that he was even bothered by it, and replied to Nami's question.
"I didn't think you meant it that literally."
Eighteen minutes later they finished cutting and skewering the meat and vegetables. Nami helped Sanji strap his right crutch to his arm so he could start grilling the shish kabobs. It was getting dark so Nami had got out a couple candles and lit them.
Not long after Sanji began grilling, Sebastian and his wife came from the other end of the beach where the citizens where staying. Niji and Cosette came from the ship a minute later.
"The hell do you want, Sanji?" Niji said, a bit annoyed.
"Shut up and sit down before I change my mind."
"Tch."
Cosette chuckled, "A picnic sounds nice after everything that's happened."
Niji turned away, grumbling under his breath about something but Sanji couldn't hear what exactly.
"What's your problem?"
Niji felt something worm wrap around his hand. He looked down to see Cosette had took his hand in hers and a faint hint of pink appeared on his face.
"Don't mind him, Sanji-sama," She said lightly pulling Niji to the picnic table. "Raiju-same, Ichiji-Sama, Yonji-sama, and Niji-sama got into an argument with Zoro-San and they're all rather annoyed right now."
"Let me guess...," Sanji said turning over the Shish kabobs, "Dartboard?"
Cosette nodded once.
"I don't see how you can stand being on the same ship as that idiot...," Niji said.
"I can't. He was here before I joined and I didn't know how annoying he was until after I joined. By the time I realized it, it was to late to go back to the Baratie. Not to mention, I could never leave Nami-San because of that shitty swordsman."
Welp, screw it! It doesn't feel finished but I can't think of how to continue this chapter...
