Jarl Balgruuf The Greater of Whiterun: local jarl of (just realized I do not know the names of the regions of Skyrim...), he seems to be greatly respected too. I guess when your nickname is literally "the greater", you tend to be well...great. He did not even mention the fact that I was Khajiit, he just listen to me intently when I described my escape from Helgen, he did not treat me as a unequal. In the day I've known him he personally saw to it that I was not bothered by the guards and pointed me towards other work, though we were interrupted by the dragon attack.

After my fight with the dragon he explained to me what it meant to be a Dragonborn, and as a reward I was paid quite substantially and made Thane, a high honor I am told. I'm not even a citizen of this Providence, but I've been showing more respect here than I've been shown from most others in Cyrodiil, granted the the folks I met have been few and far between.

Asking around town, I heard many great things about Balgruff, such as him going to the local tavern to drink with his citizens, he is not afraid to be with his people. although his main detriment for others seems to be his neutrality in this civil war. I'm not knowledgeable enough to pick a side here, but to attempt to keep your citizens away from that kind of turmoil seems honorable to me. I have a great feeling that I will be seeing more of Balgruff in my future. I just hope we stay pleasant to each other, it has been a long time since someone ever prompted such respect from me.
