Mudcrabs: A pest in one part of the world is a pest everywhere else I suppose. I would say these are uglier than the ones in Cyrodiil, but is it really fair to compare the ugliness?

Yes it is, these are big and they stink. Not only are they found in nearly every wild water source I've found, but they seem to be much larger than the ones back home! Oh and the noises they make once delt with! Ear piercing to say the least. I've been told they are quite delicious when boiled but I just can't bring myself to do so. It's their eyes, they just stare at you, cold and dark. Perhaps I'm being dramatic, but I encountered at least 30 in the last week alone WHERE DO THEY COME FROM! It's not just that I come across them, they seem to seek me out purposefully! I always lose an hour or so of sleep just at the thought of hearing their disgusting little squeal if they notice me, and I will not die due to being clamped to death in my sleep by a damn mudcrab!

Had the misfortune of having one grab hold of my tail as I walk past.

There was not much left of this particular mudcrab once I was through with it, the longer I stay here the more I feel my tail is a liability to myself, but what am I to do clip it? A curse of being Khajiit, one that has quite literally become a sore point in my time here in Skyrim..

What can I say about facing them? They're as fragile as they come. Their shell does nothing, it takes just a modicum of effort to deal with them, I stepped on one coming down the bank of a river and it died. I didn't even notice it was there! It's death shriek startled me more than it ever could! Their only advantage is their camouflage and even that they squander by charging directly at me once they made note of me, coming at me from 20 ft away, leaving me with quite a large amount of space to simply lift my arm and let loose one arrow. Oftentimes that is enough, the only times were one arrow is not enough, is when I miss because I am so damn bored of encountering these creatures.

I am just tired of seeing these damn things... I saw maybe one or two a week back in Cyrodiil, why are there so many here!!?

tally marks cover the entire page, in the corner a note is written: "each tally is one mudcrab killed" near the bottom corner another note is written: "I swear I'll run out of pages if I keep trying to keep a score of these, I give up!"

I've heard rumors of a massive mudcrab somewhere east of Whiterun. I've seen hollow shells and if it's actual size is anything to compare to those, maybe this is what's causing there to be so many mudcrabs. A mother of all Mudcrabs, I'll keep an eye out for it. I consider it a personal goal of mine to find this thing and eradicate it! Doesn't matter it's size, if it's a mudcrab, it's time is coming!

I realize my tirade against mudcrabs might seem a bit obsessive.

I will not deny that. Funnily, this all reminds me of an old book I read about a similar pests called Cliff Racers that had pester Morrowind incessantly, particularly to those in Vvardenfell. Apparently one individual managed to exterminate the whole lot single-handedly from that land (but to my knowledge, they still exists in various other parts of Morrowind). Saint Jiub the Eradicator was his name, his life seemed interesting, sadly he was killed during the Oblivion crisis. Interesting part of history, that whole event.

Who knows, maybe at the end of my life, I won't be known as Dragonborn, But rather Sylvia the Mudcrab's Bain, wouldn't that be amusing.
