μ's and Eli's water filter

Eli brings a water filter after school in her office. She lets Hanayo figure out how to make the filter go faster. Then, Hanayo introduces the filter to Maki and Rin. They had no luck in solving it, so they gave it to Umi, Honoka and Kotori. Finally, the water filter ends up with Nico. μ's get together to suggest that Aqours would solve this.

1. Chapter 1

One day, Elichika brought a water filter and a water pitcher to her office. She told Nozomi about it.

Elichika: "I brought this water filter and it works too slowly."

Nozomi: "I think I might know how to fix it."

Elichika: "Ok, I am going to the bathroom."

Nozomi stared at the water filter for a long time. She waited for 10 minutes and the pitcher was less than a tenth full. Then, she starts daydreaming. Hanayo came into the room. Nozomi immediately wakes up and says, "Hi, I am going to the bathroom with Elichika."

Hanayo: "What is going on with the water filter?"
Nozomi: I think the water filter is too slow. Maybe we should pressurize the water on top so that the water filter filters faster. I know about this because I researched vacuum filters before. I have also operated a vacuum filter. I built one by myself. The effectiveness of a vacuum filter is determined by the pressure difference between the water of each of the sides. If the pressure difference is high then more of the water will be filtered in the same amount of time than if the pressure difference is low. There is also an ion exchange filter that is possible. These types of filters are very efficient at removing smells and salts. The reason why is that ionic compounds are the compounds that usually make up salty and smelly waters. However the ion filter cannot filter out hydrogen fluoride because hydrogen fluoride is less ionic than water.

Hanayo: "Nozomi, stop! You need to go to the bathroom with Elichika!"

Nozomi: "Ok, bye!"

Nozomi runs out of the office. Hanayo thought for a minute to think that she could pressurize the water by standing on top of the water pitcher. She considered inviting other members of μ's to do it with her. Hanayo thought about how heavy she is. "Maybe what determines my weight is not how big I am but how much I eat," she thought. Then, Hanayo stands on the water pitcher. She did not consider that the pressure from her weight is distributed to the sides of the pitcher rather than inside the pitcher. The pitcher broke. Hanayo fell out of the office. She got back up quickly and ran through the hallways. "I broke Elichika's pitcher," Hanayo screamed over and over again. Rin grabs her and says, "You broke Elichika's pitcher and you are bragging about it?"

Hanayo:"No, I wasn't bragging about it. I just want to tell you early, so that there won't be any drama"

Rin: "What a nefarious intention! I must make drama to compensate for this. I will say nyas a lot of times in your face."

Rin: nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya nya

Maki came up the stairs.

Rin: "Maki, why were you so slow today."

Maki: "You forgot to throw away your trash in the empty trash can. Instead, you hopped onto the trash can to press your trash to fit it. The trash can exploded, and now, I had to clean it up."

Rin: "Oh, I just wanted to see Hanayo again after your long date with me."

Hanayo told Maki about Elichika's water filter.

Maki: "I know just the right place to apply that pressure."

The 1st year μ's went to the bathroom across the school. Maki brought the water filter, tape, scissors, and a wide hose with her.

Rin: "Why did we run across the school just to go into this bathroom?"

Maki: "I thought that Hanayo would have asked that first."

Rin: "But, you also need energy to ask questions, too!"

Maki: "Umm… Umi told me not to go to the bathroom near her office because Elichika and Nozomi were going to use it for a long time. Anyways, I have an idea of how to pressurize water through the filter."

Maki tapes the water filter's end to the opening of the hose and throws it into the toilet.

Rin: "I think that you should plug the toilet so that the pressure would not be wasted into the sewer."

Maki: "But, you would need 10 meters of water stacked on top of the filter just to reach 1 bar of extra pressure. Also, the extra water in the toilet would slow down the water coming into the toilet, distributing the force away from the filter."

Maki flushes the toilet several times with no success of water coming out the other end. 2nd year μ's come into the bathroom wondering about what was happening.

Honoka asked Rin," What are you doing?" Rin told the 2nd year μ's about the water filter. 1st year μ's came out of the bathroom to compose the music for graduation. 2nd year μ's decide that they would go to Umi's house to figure out the solution. The 2nd year μ's went to Umi's house by bike. At her house, Umi tried to make a filter arrow using her arrows, so she taped the filter, hose, and arrow together. Her idea was to shoot the arrow into a tank of water. The difference in velocity of the arrow and water would speed water through the filter, and the hose would collect the filtered water.

Umi: "This should do it."

"Love arrow, shouto," says Umi as she lets go of her bow string. The arrow dropped less than 1 meter away and hit the puddle.

Umi: "This is too embarrassing for me I must go"

Kotori: " You must stay. You can reclaim your honor if you get this right."

Umi: "I don't have any honor to reclaim. Elichika didn't see this, and I don't have any ideas left. It is Honoka's turn."

Honoka decides to put the water filter and the hose under a toy boat. She wants to use the boat's speed and the water filter's cross section to apply pressure difference into the water filter.

Honoka: "Ready. Set. Go!"

Honoka pressed forward on the remote control. The boat swam and flipped over.

Kotori: "I think that the boat design is inappropriate. To stabilize the boat you need to put the filter above the boat and feed the water from below."

Honoka: "That is too much work for too little reward. We would have to learn months of hydrodynamics to get this right. Umi has lost her confidence and now it is your turn, Kotori!"

Kotori: "I am thinking about flying the filter to increase the force onto the filter. Hmm.. What flies with birds and carries water? What flies with birds and carries filters? I got it! We can use drones to fly the filter. And the rain will fly the water."

Umi: "It won't rain until tomorrow."

Honoka: "Only if Umi had more confidence then she would solve this by now."

Umi: "I don't have any more ideas! I know that Nico has lots of confidence. She has not failed yet."

2nd year μ's went back into school. Luckily, they found Nico practicing dancing with butterfly costumes in the school idol club. "Nico would fly into the rain and the filter would work," Kotori thought.

Nico: "I know all about that filter. You don't need to tell me."

Nico forces the 2nd year μ's to learn about Mitaiken HORIZON. Nico told them what dancing they should do during the song. She forced them to dance and sing around the water filter while the music played. After Nico got tired, she explained to them why she did this.

Nico: "At Least, the song doesn't have Nico Nico Nii in it. Or else, you would be learning non-stop."

Nico explains that her method of dancing around the filter is the best.

Nico: "There is nothing at risk when applying this technique to the filter. We improve our dancing just by doing this. Dancing is the most effective way of getting Jesus's attention. Hopefully, the filter curse will be lifted."

1st year μ's came back from composing lyrics and music.

Maki: "Nico don't you know that the dancing, costumes, music, and lyrics all came from Aqours."

Nico: "Don't mention that. You are such a libel against A-rise."

Rin: "I had an idea to disassemble the water filter, but Maki just called me as destructive as Hanayo."

Nozomi and Elichika finally came back out of the restroom.

Nozomi (says while smiling): "I predicted that Nico was practicing fake fortune-telling."

Nozomi gropes Nico's breast, and Nico screams.

Elichika: "Maybe we can let Kanan bring the water pitcher 20 meters underwater while the pitcher is water and air tight. The pressure difference between the inside and the environment would be 2 bar. I think it is enough to pressure the water through. Trust me. It is not destructive."

Nico: "Hey, that is my idea!"

Nozomi gropes her breasts tighter.

Nico: "I mentioned Aqours first. Therefore, all ideas about Aqours in this conversation are mine."

Maki: "It is not your idea. You would have not thought about Aqours before I did because you always think about A-rise, first."

Nico: "You don't need to think about Aqours to think about diving."

Maki: "Well, you just contradicted yourself."

Nico: "I meant to say that about me. Elichika would never think about diving if I did not mention Aqours. The idea is mine."

Nozomi: "Don't trust Nico. She already falsely predicted both Elichika's reasoning and the water filter."

Umi: Nico, you wouldn't want to be dishonored for failing that idea.
