"I think I made Shin worried, and he started coming to visit almost every day. Not that I don't appreciate it." I told Gray as we got into bed for the night.
"Why?"
"I met them last week when I was coming to the school, and after I told them what we're having, I cried a little when I said that I didn't really care as long as he was alive. I told them I'm just super emotional, but Shin stayed behind and asked me what was really wrong. I didn't tell him I was kidnapped. I just said that I was meeting with a client, and I passed out, and I didn't feel the baby move. I also said it was a one-time thing, but he's still worried."
"I guess it's good that he doesn't know everything that happened."
"Yeah. I know we're almost there, but I feel like I want the days to just zoom by so we can get him out. I'm just tired of being scared that something I do might affect him." He hugged me and kissed my forehead.
"We just have to take it one day at a time."
"I know. I also know that you're just as impatient as I am."
"How?"
"I realized that personality-wise, we are pretty similar. I'm just louder." I giggled.
"What do you mean?"
"You like to provoke people into getting angry, and I'm the same way to an extent. And we both take a little too much pleasure out of messing with people. We're usually on the same wavelength when it comes to that. Kinda like how we never need to discuss whatever we do to mess with any of the others. We just roll with it. You're just more private regarding certain aspects of your personality, but I still see them. That's why I know you're impatient. If I am, then you definitely are too."
"Hmm…I never realized that, but now that I think about it, it makes sense. Can I ask you something?"
"Sure"
"They guys were talking about the whole thing between Raizel and Raskreia, and Karias said she loved him. They asked me if I loved you and I didn't know how to answer it. Do you love me?"
"I do. Very much so."
"How do you know that you do?"
"It's hard to explain clearly, but I'll try. I really like seeing you happy, and I feel like I want to be the one making you the happiest. Every time you guys go out on missions, I worry about everyone, but I feel like I have to hold my breath until you finally come back, then I can start breathing again. And everything feels just right. When I think about raising kids with you, I don't see just one, and I don't feel like it will be a burdensome thing. I just feel like I'll be happy. And when I think of normal, I just see that as me being with you, no matter where we are. It's little things like that."
"If it's like that, then I guess I love you too. Every time I go away, I want to come back because I know being with you makes me happier. Whenever anyone puts you in danger, I feel like I could lose control because I never want anything to happen to you again. And I know we haven't even had our first kid yet, but I'm already looking forward to the others we'll have. I'm still determined to get the names of my comrades, but I started thinking about my name that I want to find, and I don't want to not be Gray to you. The name that you gave me just feels right to me."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Although the other part to that is I'd probably get jealous if you called any other name but Gray when we're having sex."
"You're funny."
"But you're the one who says it…many times." He started laughing.
"You can't laugh at me. I'm housing your child."
"Fine. I'll stop." He hugged me a bit tighter. "Would it hurt the baby if we did that?"
"No. I did read that sometimes you either rock them to sleep or make them jump around in there." He went silent for a moment. "Let me guess. You're a little bit creeped out but also intrigued."
"Uhhh…maybe a little bit."
"Maybe we can do some research. Just to find out."
"I'm right there with you." He responded excitedly. He then started kissing my shoulder. I turned around to face him, and he crashed his lips onto mine. He grabbed the hem of my shirt and pulled it up over my head to take it off, then his hands immediately covered my breasts.
"I should probably tell you not to press them too hard. I think there might be milk in there that it might come out."
"I'll try not to." He breathed then gently ran his thumbs over my hardening buds. After playing with them for a while, he began gently caressing my stomach. I smiled at him. "What?"
"You never did that before."
"I'm just excited about this baby that I made. Half of me is in here, and he's a part of you and me." I kissed him deeper. He pulled my bottoms off and his pants. He then positioned himself between my legs. "Are you ok like this? I don't want to hurt you." I pushed him back and turned around, with my face on the pillow.
"Better." He slowly slid his length into me while holding my hips. We both let out groans once his entire length was inside. I clung to the bed as he slowly thrusted in and out of me. This was the first time we had done this before he was kidnapped, and he was savoring every moment of it. He gradually increased his speed, and I could feel the currents of pleasure building up in my core. I brought my legs closer together, tightening around him. He grunted as he moved inside my tight passage, driving both him and me to our peaks. I let out a loud moan as I finally reached my crescendo. He kept moving inside me before twitching and releasing in me. He pulled out of me, then lay down, and I laid next to him. I started giggling when he placed his hand on my stomach, where the baby was moving around.
"I guess now we know." He said as he chuckled.
"I should probably say sorry now."
"Why?"
"Because we'll have a son with my levels of energy. But you're a werewolf, so you should have enough energy to chase him around."
"Since I don't have any memories from before, I can't really say that wasn't me either. Maybe I just mellowed out at some point."
"That is true. For all we know, this could all be you."
"I wouldn't go that far."
"I promised Rai that we'd make him live up to the name. I hope we can keep that promise."
"I know we will." He said proudly. "Raizel Han."
"Huh?"
"I decided on my name. I'll be more than happy to be Gray Han." I turned to face him, already tearing up.
"Really?"
"Yeah. You and I are a family now. We do need a family name, so I'm officially a Han."
We had about a month and a week more to go before the baby got here, and I was keeping myself busy by wrapping up all the work I had left for my clients before I took a break from work. Gray came into our room from work looking like he had been in a fight.
"Tough day?" I asked casually.
"You've really become casual about my injuries."
"Isn't it going to heal?"
"It still doesn't stop the fact that it hurts."
"Aww…do you want a hug from us?" I reached my hands up for a hug. He hugged me then went to take a quick shower to rinse off the dirt before changing into a new suit. "What happened?"
"We got ambushed and knocked out. We're waiting to find out more about who did it. I have to go back. I'll see you later."
"Bye. Be careful!"
"Ok." Later on, at dinner, I didn't see Rai and could feel something terrible had happened. Frankenstein also looked a bit worried about him. After that, I noticed that Rai hadn't come out of his room for a while. Shin came to visit and said he hadn't shown up to school either. I decided to ask Gray about it.
"Will Rai be ok? I noticed he hasn't come out of his room for about three days now. Shin said he hasn't been to school."
"It might take him a while. His closest friend gave up his life to give him a bit more time. He feels responsible."
"Oh. I suppose that would be a heavy thing to carry around." He and Mr. Frankenstein left suddenly. Mr. Frankenstein told Tao to make sure everything was in order.
With the baby's due date fast approaching, I had started noticing that Gray was a bit more aggravated than usual.
"Hey. Are you ok?" I asked him out of concern.
"I'm fine." He tensely replied.
"No, you're not. You've been aggravated for the past few days. Talk to me. Maybe I can help."
"You're not like us. You wouldn't understand anything."
"I never said I was like you, Gray. I was saying that I can help you talk things through."
"How is that going to help?" He snapped at me.
"Fine. Feel free to come back home mad every day. Feel free to walk tensely around everyone and leave them worried about you."
"Mi-Sun. I don't feel like talking right now." He got out of bed and left. In the morning, he came back, got ready for the day without saying a word, and left.
"What the hell is going on with him?" I asked Takeo when I got downstairs to the kitchen.
"He found the person who was in charge of the test facility he was experimented on. We can't do anything about it for now since it's a delicate situation, and he's getting impatient."
"Why couldn't he just tell me that?"
"Maybe he doesn't know how to. Or maybe he's afraid he might scare you. What he went through was much different from what Tao and I went through. I understand why he is that way right now."
"What happened?"
"The modifications that were done on us were the next stage after what was done to him and the other test subjects that were with him. They were the first ones that had ever been tried by the lab, so his group got the worst of it. They were all put through hours of painful procedures and torturous experiments. Most of them ended up dying. Only he and his other friend were the last of their group. Since they were seen as failures, they were put in the field as low-level agents instead. The doctor who did all those experiments on him and his friends came out of hiding recently." I couldn't help but cry.
"I wish he could just talk to me and tell me about it. I hate seeing him like that, and the fact that he's going through all of this on his own just makes me worried."
"I know, Sunny. Just give him time. He might start talking. Right now, we're just concerned whether he'd do anything rash. The whole city is under threat, and he's probably thinking of what could happen with everyone he knows. The Boss and Raizel are not here yet, and they're the ones who usually know how to calm him down."
"I guess I have no choice but to wait for him to come to me about it."
Rai eventually came back without Mr. Frankenstein this time. He must have talked to Gray because Gray eventually came to talk to me.
"I'm really sorry, Mi-Sun. I know you were trying to help, and maybe I didn't have the best response." He said when he came into our room. I was lying down, resting, and patted the bed next to me. He came to lay down, and I wrapped my arms around him.
"It's ok. Takeo told me about what's happening and what happened to you. You don't have to talk to me if you don't want to. I just don't want you to go through everything alone. I'll always be here for you, Gray. No matter what."
"I know. And I never meant to worry you. I don't want anything to happen to the baby. I just feel like there's nothing I can do, and I hate this feeling. He took away everyone I used to know before, and now he's threatened to take away the rest of the people I consider my family. And the fact that I can't do anything right now makes me frustrated. But I know now that I have to keep a clear head so I can be ready to protect everyone."
"Thanks for saying something."
"How are you doing? I've been so wrapped up in myself that I didn't check on you two."
"The fake contractions hurt every once in a while, but that just means he'll be here soon enough."
"Boss should be coming back soon."
"I hope so. Otherwise, Tao will have to help me pop him out when the time comes since he's the only other person in the house all the time."
"If anything happens, just call me."
"I'll call if I can."
The kids had come to hang out with Rai, and I joined them in the living room since I needed the company. Everyone else was always gone on patrol, and Tao was monitoring everything on the computer, so I barely saw him when he was home. We were seated in the living room when a frenzied Tao suddenly came in and told everyone to follow him. He led us to an underground elevator.
"Is it just me, or have we been going down for a while now?" Ik-Han asked.
"Yeah. Just how far underground is this?"
"And where is Rai? He was just behind us." If Rai wasn't there, it means this was an emergency.
"I guess he must have gotten the other one," Tao responded nervously.
"Why does Principal Lee have this place anyway?"
"It's probably one of those things rich people do." There was a huge, booming noise from outside that shook the elevator.
"Everyone, just calm down. It was probably just the earthquake we were warned about."
"This cannot be good for the baby," I commented.
"Oh, gosh. Are you ok, Sunny?"
"It's just moving too much. Nothing to worry about." We made it to a vault-like room, which I assumed was the evacuation shelter, and had to wait for about an hour before going back up. Rai said he was in another elevator. The kids then left for Ik-Han's house. Shin-Woo was spending most of his days there since I wasn't home most of the time either.
Two days after that, I started getting what I thought was false labor. Everyone except Tao was gone, and there seemed to have been an emergency situation, so he was busy. As I was getting ready for a nap, my water broke. Mr. Frankenstein wasn't back, and I was essentially alone, so I needed to do something. After the huge boom, the power had gone out in our part of the city, and my phone was downstairs. I figured we only had power because there was probably a generator somewhere in the vast house. I had to be prepared to have the baby on my own. I grabbed the first aid kit, the baby bath, some towels, baby blankets, and face towels. To avoid the mess, I sat in the bathtub and waited out the contractions while reading up on what to do. Whatever pain I was in, I had to keep calm to do this. Once the time between contractions shortened, I filled up the baby bath with hot water, hoping it would stay that way for when I needed it. When it finally came time to push, the pain was like nothing I had felt before. I eventually managed to get him out, tie and cut the cord, clear his nose, and heard him cry before I felt relief. I cleaned him and myself up, wrapped him and myself up, and rinsed off the bathtub. My whole body was exhausted, and I didn't know if I missed something, so I got a blanket, placed the baby in the cot, and slept in the bathtub with the cot next to me.
I woke up to the sound of the baby crying and found that I was in my bed. The baby was in his crib nearby, so I picked him and fed him. My body was still achy, but I was hungry, and I needed water. I found the sling and carried him in it, then went to the kitchen. Rai was back, and he was with another person.
"Hi, Rai. Hello, sir." I greeted them weakly.
"Muzaka. A friend of Raizel's. Are you well enough to move?"
"Probably not, but everyone is out there saving the city or whatever, so I hardly have room to complain, do I?"
"Right."
"I'm Mi Sun. The little one here is Raizel."
"That's an interesting choice of a name."
"Not really. Rai has saved every single person I care about and is the reason we are here today. I can only hope my son will measure up to the name. Who took me out of the tub?"
"That was me. I sensed one of my kind and heard the cry soon after."
"Thank you for that."
"Is that the child belonging to M-21?"
"Yes."
"He is a strong child."
"He is a Han, so he better be." He looked at me quizzically. "That's my family name. Sorry."
"Oh."
I walked to the living room with a glass of water and happened to notice Rai's face. "Oh god! What happened, Rai? Are you ok? Do you need me to get anything for you?" I tried not to startle the baby.
"Welcome back, sir. The boss is still in his fight against…." Tao walked into the living room and noticed Rai's condition. He looked at him concernedly. He then looked at me. "When did that…." The front door of the house creaked open. "That's weird. The door is usually closed." Just then, the kids walked in.
"It's Tao! And Mr. Muzaka! Sunny?! When did that happen?"
"A couple of hours ago. Everyone was kinda busy, so I looked it up online. Let's lower the volume a little bit. He's still less than five hours old."
"You did that by yourself?!" Shin-Woo hissed.
"Try to stay calm. He can sense the mood. What are you kids doing here anyway?" They looked down despondently.
"Rai. It's good that you're here. We actually came to see you." They didn't seem phased by the fact that Rai looked like he had been through the wringer and back.
"Everyone, please sit down. I'll get something for you to drink." Tao hurriedly offered.
"We decided to come to see you because we wanted to ask you something," Shin-Woo said. They looked quite concerned for him.
"Are you a non-human by any chance?" Ik-Han asked. I felt my heart skip a beat, and I could tell Rai's heart did too. The baby started stirring. They explained how they were looking up the noise from a few days ago, and they found an image of the crater with a man in the center. The man just happened to look like Rai. "We figured you knew that too, Tao. That's why you were making excuses for him."
"We thought maybe you're not human either, Tao. And Sunny. You didn't seem concerned at all about Rai missing, so you probably know something."
"He is human. But you're right. I am not human." Rai finally said sadly. He looked down apologetically. "I am sorry if I deceived you."
"There's one more thing we wanna ask." They all looked up at him. "We're still friends, right?" They had surprised him. He didn't expect such a reaction. "We don't really believe all those rumors. We know you wouldn't harm anyone. We've known you a long time, and we know you wouldn't do anything." Shin-Woo added.
"No one can deny that you're our friend," Ik-Han stated. He, Tao, and Muzaka looked relieved by this. Muzaka actually looked happy for him.
"To tell you the truth, I'm not human either," Tao said.
"Truth is a bit of a stretch there, Tao. I think we've had the human conversation before." He chuckled nervously.
"And I'm a werewolf," Muzaka said. "And Raizel and I have been friends for centuries."
"We also know of non-humans called werewolves."
"The baby might be that too." They all looked at me. "Well…everyone was confessing their thing. I want him to feel included."
"Is that why you didn't call anyone to help?"
"Not exactly. My phone was down here, and he was coming. I didn't think I'd be able to make it down the stairs with all that pain and everything."
"Can we see him?"
"Sure. He hasn't cried that much so let's try to be gentle." I took him out of the sling and swaddled him. They all came around to look at him. "Not to be a stickler or anything, but if you wanna carry him, do you mind washing your hands first? He's still really new, so I'm just trying to be careful about germs." They all ran to wash their hands and came back. I handed him off to Shin-Woo.
"What's his name?"
"Raizel," I said proudly. Just then, Tao answered someone in his earpiece. He then turned on the tv.
"Raskreaia?!" They all exclaimed. The baby started stirring.
"Ok. Let's just tone the volume down. You're going to make him cry." Raskreaia was on tv doing an interview about Nobles. She was the Lord of the Nobles. While the interview was going on, there was a sudden interference in the signal then a man popped up on the screen. He talked about how he was going to fire nuclear missiles to wipe out humanity from the face of the earth.
"What's that crazy stuff the creepy guy is saying?" Shin-Woo asked. I looked at Tao.
"Is he the one that made him that way?" He nodded. "And now he's trying to take us away from him." He opened his computer to follow up on the threat. Someone popped up on his screen and said he picked up signals of nuclear weapons warming up.
"So, he's not bluffing?"
"I'm afraid not." The man on the computer said.
"TAO! WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!" Shin-Woo yelled.
"THAT MAN WAS SERIOUS?!" Muzaka also yelled at the same time. The baby started crying.
"Ok. Give him back." I took him and put him back in the sling, holding him close to me. I could feel my tears falling. "I'm so sorry for bringing you into this. I thought I'd be able to keep you safe once you were out." After a few minutes of talking to their friend, they found out that most nuclear missiles had been stopped, but two of them had launched before anything could be done. One of them was headed for our city.
"Do not fear," Rai said.
"What do you mean?"
"I cannot stop both of them, but I know I will be able to stop the missile heading for this city."
"What's going to happen to you?" He stood up and smiled sadly.
"You were only supposed to rest." I cried at him. "I was ready for you to rest."
"Mi-Sun. You do not need to cry. I am doing this because I can do it. And because I must ensure the safety of my family."
"I know you told me not to apologize for you saving our lives. But I'm really sorry that you have to carry such a burden for our sake." I walked over to him and hugged him. "I truly am sorry, Rai." The kids we also crying after realizing what was going to happen. "Please don't make me forget you. I need to remember who I'm raising him to be. Please give me that final gift or let him have that as a gift." I whispered to him.
"Very well. I will not." He then turned to the kids. "Do not let your mourning ruin your memories. All my times with you truly were a blessing." He said to them. He raised his hand, then Tao and Muzaka caught them as they fell over."
"Thank you. I'm grateful that I got to know you, Cadis Etrama di Raizel. I will never forget everything you did for all of us." He caressed the baby's head, nodded then left. Tao took the kids back to Ik-Han's place and came back. I decided to go back to my room and wait for Gray to come back home.
"Mi-Sun. Mi-Sun…"
"I'm up," I said sleepily as I opened my eyes. Gray was finally home, a few hours after Rai and Muzaka had left.
"Hi. I'm sorry I wasn't here with you. I heard you did this by yourself. I'm really sorry, Sunny."
"It's nothing to worry about. I was just doing my part to help. It really hurt, but he's here now."
"The boss wanted to check both of you out in the morning. I think he needs time right now. To recover and to process everything."
"It's ok. He's a strong baby, so he'll be fine."
"Raizel is awake."
"It's about time to feed him and change him."
"Can I try?"
"Sure." I helped Gray change the baby then I fed him before putting him back to sleep. I set the baby camera on him then we went to join the others downstairs.
"Should you be on your feet right now?" Takeo asked me.
"I can walk, so there's really no need to sit around and do nothing up there."
"So, you had him all by yourself?"
"Yeah. I took the gamble that everything would go as smoothly as possible, and it did. There was no need to inconvenience anyone when the rest of you were out there trying to save the world."
"The way you roll with things gets a bit too weird sometimes," Tao said.
"Says the guy that can produce electric whips from his body…" he shrugged. "Anyway, I hope I didn't expose him to anything by letting the kids carry him."
"He's a werewolf, so I think he's beyond germs."
"We don't know that…the germs thing…the werewolf thing I'm absolutely positive of."
"How?"
"Muzaka sensed a werewolf when he came in. That's how he found us in the bathroom."
"What will you do about his last name?" Tao asked. I looked at Gray and smiled.
"We're going with his last name."
"Huh?"
"I suppose you didn't have time to tell them the name thing?"
"No." He looked at them. "I would still like to find out the names of my comrades. However, I found a name that I feel belongs to me. Finding out the name I was born with would feel strange now. As much as I would like to find it, I wouldn't feel like me if I were to use it."
"What is it?"
"Gray Han."
"Hmm…strange as it is, you actually do look like a Gray. How did you settle on that?"
"That's what Mi-Sun has been calling me since we started talking. She never questioned why I didn't give my name. She just found a name for me and used it."
"I thought he was in witness protection. Everyone knows you don't ask questions." They laughed. "He vetoed Hairo Gray."
"I'd veto it too. Gray Gray is a bit too much."
"I was also playing around with Gray Gin, but it sounded like something you order at the bar, so I nixed it."
"Yeah. That was terrible."
"Anyway, you're sneaking them into the system, right?" I asked Tao. "Japanese, Korean and American."
"That seems excessive."
"But that's who he is." I turned to Gray. "Do you think we should give him a Japanese middle name?"
"Feel free to go with Takeo."
"Hmm…no. We're branching out of the house for names with that."
