Chapter Two: Friendly Help
Sonic ran towards the altar of the Master Emerald. It was no longer an altar, as it has been rebuilt as a palace. Because Knuckles' people, along with Tikal, returned to Angel Island, and they wanted to treat Tikal like a queen, and still have Knuckles protect the Master Emerald.
As soon as he made it towards the gates of the palace, Sonic pressed the button on the intercom, and waited for an answer. It was ringing for about a minute, and then someone finally answered.
"Master Emerald Palace, how may we help you?" a voice on the other side called.
"Radger, it's Sonic! Please, let me in, I really need to speak to Knuckles!" Sonic pleaded.
"It's late at night, but he is still awake. I'll let you in, but please, keep the noise down, as Tikal is getting Amber settled for bed." Radger warned him.
"Thank you, Radger." Sonic thanked.
The gates then opened up, and Sonic made his way inside. He then walked towards the front door, and attempted to knock on it, but then they opened up. In front of him was a brown echidna, with teal green eyes. This was Radger.
"Master Sonic! Welcome, come on in." Radger introduced.
"Thank you, Radger. Now, where is Knuckles?" Sonic asked.
"He is just where the altar is, where he guards the Master Emerald." Radger told him.
"Again, thank you. I promise to keep the noise down." Sonic told him.
Radger just took his word for it, and Sonic made his way towards the altar. Sonic turns to the nearest room, and then he opened the door, and inside was exactly what he was looking for. There was the Master Emeralds altar, and there was Knuckles.
He is a red echidna, with a white moon on his chest, purple eyes, white gloves that resemble boxing gloves, only it has two sharp points each, dreadlocks, and red, green, and yellow shoes. Knuckles turns around, and sees Sonic.
"Sonic! What are you doing here?" Knuckles wondered in surprise.
"I'm sorry for arriving so late, Knuckles. But it's a long story." Sonic mentioned.
"What is a long story? What has happened?" Knuckles asked.
"Well, to cut the long story short, I'm a wanted man. I foiled Eggman's plans again, and I was speaking with him afterwards, then suddenly, someone came from behind him, and stabbed him in the back, like literally, stabbed him in the back. I never got to see him, the police then arrived, and they think I murdered him." Sonic explained.
"Eggman was murdered?! So, you're wanted for, so they say, murdering Eggman?" Knuckles thought in surprise.
"That's the moral of the story." Sonic replied.
"You didn't bring the police here, did you?!" Knuckles asked with worry.
"No, don't worry about that! I lost them, before I got here." Sonic explained.
"Then, why are you here?" Knuckles asked again.
"Because I have nowhere else to go. I can't go anywhere else in Station Square, because the police know where I live, Tails lives, anybody I know, they know, and will question them." Sonic told him.
"OK, so, what do you want me to do about it?" Knuckles thought.
"I need help, Knuckles. I need a place to stay, until I can think of a plan. I don't know what to do at the moment. But right now, I need to keep away from the police. I won't stay long, it's just until I think of a plan. I won't disturb you, Tikal, or Amber. Or even Radger, for that matter. Please, Knuckles, I don't know who else to turn to, I can't go home!" Sonic pleaded.
"OK, OK, OK, calm down, Sonic. Stay as long as you like." Knuckles told him.
"Thank you, Knuckles!" Sonic thanked, as he shook Knuckles' hand.
"You're welcome. But just keep it down, you'll alert Amber, and she'll start crying." Knuckles warned.
"Speaking of Amber, where is she? I heard from Radger that Tikal is getting her settled for bed." Sonic wondered.
"Well, I will show you." Knuckles smiled.
Knuckles nodded his head out towards the door, and Sonic and Knuckles made their way towards where Tikal and Amber were located. Knuckles stopped at a door, and slowly opened the door.
Inside was Tikal sitting on a stool, holding an amber coloured baby echidna in her arms. Her eyes were slightly opened, showing her purple eyes, like Knuckles.
"She is precious, Knuckles." Sonic smiled.
"She is indeed. That's daddy's baby girl there. Every night, Tikal would sing her to sleep." Knuckles explained, smiling.

After that, Amber fell asleep in Tikal's arms, and Tikal then gently puts her in her crib. Knuckles walks in, and he strokes Amber's forehead. And then he kisses her cheek.
"Daddy loves you, Amber. Sleep well." Knuckles said softly.
"Mommy also loves you, my little angel." Tikal added.
She also placed a kiss on Amber's cheek. After that, they both walk out of the room, and Tikal was surprised to see Sonic.
"Sonic, hello! What are you doing here?" Tikal asked, in surprise, and happily.
Tikal friendly embraced Sonic, which Sonic returned. Sonic then placed a kiss on Tikal's cheek, and they let go of the embrace.
"Hello, Tikal. Good seeing you, too. I know it's been a long time." Sonic smiled.
"But yes, Tikal, there is a reason why Sonic is here, by the way." Knuckles mentioned.
"Oh, really? Why is that?" Tikal wondered.
"Well, to keep the story short, the police are after me for a crime I never did, so I came to a place that the police would never find me, so Knuckles has allowed me to stay as long as I can, so I can come up with a plan to find out the truth." Sonic explained.
"Oh, goodness! And what crime are we talking here?" Tikal thought.
"Well, it was murdering Eggman, but I swear, it weren't me, Tikal. It was pitch black where we were, and someone stabbed Eggman, and the police came afterwards, and assumed it was me, and I am wanted all over Station Square." Sonic again mentioned.
"I believe you, Sonic. I know you wouldn't do anything like that. And yes, by all means, you can stay as long as you need, until you figure something out." Tikal smiled.
"Thank you so much, Tikal. You really are an angel sent from above, and not just literally, either." Sonic smiled, as he holds both of Tikal's hands.
"And I suppose Eggman is dead, right?" Knuckles thought.
"I don't think so. Well, at least I hope not. The ambulance rushed him to the hospital, so hopefully he's saved in time." Sonic hoped.
"Well, do you have any contact with Tails? Maybe he could help with something?" Tikal wondered.
I do, but I am sure he knows where I am. He has a tracker on me, that sneaky little fox! But jokes aside, I do have a way of calling him, when I need to. But I think I will leave that for the morning." Sonic stated.
"Take as much rest as you need, Sonic. Must have been a rough night, running from the cops." Knuckles told him.
"Stay as long as you like, Sonic. There is a spare room just on the right, down that corridor." Tikal explained.
"OK, thank you so much. I owe you everything." Sonic thanked.
After that, Sonic walked down the corridor, and then he entered the spare room that was on his right.
"You think he'll be OK, Knuckles?" Tikal asked.
"I'm sure he will. It isn't the first time the cops have mistaken him, for committing a crime her never did. So I am sure he will find a way out of it this time." Knuckles replied, confidentially.
"Really? When was this?" Tikal wondered.
"This was shortly after you left this world, after Chaos tried to destroy Station Square. People thought Sonic was working with Eggman, when it was actually Shadow." Knuckles mentioned.
"Oh, right. Well, I never knew that. I sure hope this doesn't cause any harm to Amber." Tikal hoped.
Knuckles then wraps his arms lovingly around Tikal's waist.
"Tikal, you and Amber are the light of my life. I wouldn't let anyone, or anything, hurt any of you two. You two are my world, she's my little baby girl, and you are my beautiful wife. I love you both, more than anything in this whole world." Knuckles told her, with determination.
"I love you too, Knuckles." Tikal smiled.
After that, they both share a loving passionate kiss, and Tikal wrapped her arms around Knuckles' neck for a loving embrace. They then break the kiss, and look into one another's eyes lovingly.
"It's time to go to bed, Tikal." Knuckles mentioned.
"You sure you don't want to practise for another?" Tikal teased, with a naughty wink.
"Well, now that you mention that, I may stay up a bit longer." Knuckles replied, flirting.
Tikal chuckles, and then after that, they both made their way to bed, for their practising-for-another session, and the after that, they both went to sleep. In the spare room, Sonic was wondering what he was going to do.
"I sure hope everyone else believes me, and knows that I am innocent." Sonic hoped.
Then after a while, Sonic laid his head down on the pillow, and fell asleep. His first plan was to call Tails tomorrow, and let him know what's been going on. This is not going to be an easy challenge for Sonic, as he is wanted by the entire of Station Square.
It still goes through Sonic's mind, who was it that really stabbed Eggman, and why would they even do that? What is their reasoning behind framing Sonic? Whatever the case was, Sonic was not giving up by a long shot, as he will die trying.
He wasn't even sure if Eggman was still alive, he is just hoping that him being dead was not the case at all. But until he thinks of a plan, he will sleep in Knuckles and Tikal's home, until the day comes to prove his innocence.
Sonic is just hoping that none of his other friends believe the story, and know Sonic was innocent, otherwise, what chance would Sonic's hope have?
