Chapter Seven: The Dirt From Red Mountain
Tails and Cream were at Red Mountain, collecting dirt. They spent there for about an hour gathering some dirt for Tails' lie detector, that he was working on, to prove Sonic's innocence. It was a very messy job for both Tails and Cream, but they both knew it was for a good reason, so it did not bother them at all.
Tails and Cream were covered in so much dirt, soil, and mud. This place has not been explored much, since the day Knuckles was looking for the pieces of the Master Emeralds, the same time when Chaos was revived, and terrorised Station Square.
Cream chuckles so much at Tails, because he was covered in dirt, which Cream also found cute at the same time. But Cream also forgets that she is also working at the same place as he is, and that also made her covered in dirt.
"You look so filthy, Tails!" Cream chuckled.
"You don't look any better!" Tails retaliated, jokingly.
"Well, besides us looking filthy, do you think we have enough dirt for your lie detector?" Cream wondered.
"Yeah, I believe so. The device doesn't need a whole lot, but this is more like fuel for a car for this lie detector. This helps build the power for it, and then eventually, it wears out." Tails explained.
"You're so smart, Tails. I would never have figured this out. Like, how did you become so smart?" Cream wondered.
"Well, when I met Sonic at a young age, he had the Tornado, that was all scrapped up. And I took matter in my own hands to repair it. He didn't know I was doing this. And after he caught me for what I was doing, he was surprised, and we talked for a bit. Got to know each other, and became friends. Then I was captured by Eggman, who asked me to write a letter to Sonic, letting him come and rescue me, which was silly on Eggman's part. And Sonic did come and save me. And since then, we have been having adventures together ever since. And I knew I had to be smarter with technology, before I could face against anything Eggman threw at us. So I studied at a school in mechanics, while me and Sonic had no adventures, they taught me all I ever need. Repairing vehicles, which planes was all I already knew, making gadgets, many things." Tails told her.
"Well, that is a lot of hard work, and dedication, I take it." Cream added.
"No kidding. It was hard, but I had to do what was needed, for anything Eggman had against us." Tails finished.
"Well, I am glad. And Sonic being with Amy at the moment, do you believe that something will happen between them?" Cream asked.
"What do you mean?" Tails wondered.
"Well, like what me and you are like. Or Knuckles and Tikal? Being in a relationship, having a romantic connection?" Cream added.
"It is possible. I mean, it was very sudden that he paired himself up with Amy. He could have easily paired himself with me, and have you with Amy, but he paired me with you, and he paired himself with Amy." Tails explained.
"Why has Sonic never been with anybody, including Amy?" Cream thought.
"Well, I guess he didn't have a reason to." Tails stated.
"How come?" Cream wondered.
"Well, Sonic is the hero of this place. And I do believe it's because he was shy, and he wasn't use to that kind of affection that anyone has given him. That, and plus being the hero, he was probably too scared to be emotionally attached to anyone romantically. Because he'd believe the enemies would see them as an easy target, for Sonic to surrender." Tails thought.
"Oh. Well, I understand that very clearly. I'm sure Amy would have understood, if he had spoken to her about it." Cream mentioned.
"I'm sure she would. But, I think Sonic chose not to, because he was worried in case that would hurt Amy's feelings, and feel like she isn't worth his time. The last thing Sonic ever wants to do, is hurt anybody he cares about." Tails added.
"So he does care about Amy?" Cream stated.
"I believe he does, yeah. I think he does care about her as much as I care about you. Only difference is, I am not the main hero that can be easily targeted, like he is. So it's more hard for him to express himself to Amy, like I did for you." Tails mentioned.
"You confessed your love for me, a lot younger, and a lot sooner than I ever expected." Cream smiled.
"Yeah, and I don't regret it. People have said we were too young, and don't know what love really is, or anything about romance. But me, I only used my instincts, and expressed what my heart tells me." Tails smiled back.

Tails then approached Cream, and took hold of both her hands lovingly. Tails was spinning his two tails behind him, and Cream flapped her ears, and then both Tails and Cream slowly levitated themselves into the air.

Burning like the backseat back in '08
When everybody said we wouldn't do it
But they were wrong

As both Tails and Cream were levitating, they slowly soared through the air, and got higher and higher, until they were both higher than the mountains. They eventually became higher than the clouds.

But you, you can see right through the boy, and saw a man
(Tails singing)
And here we stand

Tails and Cream placed their heads against one another, lovingly. They both had their eyes closed, and just enjoyed one another's touch. They were still both flying above the clouds, and Tails didn't worry about losing the dirt that him and Cream gathered earlier, he was wearing a backpack, that had them all inside containers.

Tails placed a loving kiss on Cream's forehead, and Cream smiles warmly, with happy tears falling from here eyes.

It's so funny
How we as silly kids could see forever?
(Tails and Cream singing)
Now looking back, we should not be together
(Tails singing)
Yet, here we are
.
Tails and Cream then held onto one another's hand, side by side, and they both just randomly started flying all around the sky, they were flying through the clouds, and explored all around Red Mountain together. They didn't care where they were going, they just explored all around the mountains, without a care in the world, besides for one another.

Flew to the top of the tallest mountain in Red Mountain, and it took them both at least a minute, until they both finally reached the very top of the mountain. They both then landed on top of the mountain, and Tails wrapped his arms around Cream's waist, and Cream wrapped her arms around Tails' neck, lovingly.

Tails, then grabs one of Cream's hand, and placed the other hand on her waist. Cream holding Tails' hand, she places her other hand on Tails' shoulder, and they playfully danced around the top of the mountain.

Tails and Cream stop their playful dance on top of the mountain, and Tails once again, wraps his arms around Cream's waist, and Cream wrapped her arms around Tails' neck, lovingly, and they stared into one another's eyes, filled with lust.

And after that, Tails slowly leaned his head towards Cream's, and gently pressed his lips against hers, sharing a loving, passionate kiss. No matter how long they have been together, or how young their love started for one another, this feeling was real, and they both knew it. They break the kiss, and stared into one another's eyes, lovingly.
"I love you, Cream. Never forget about that. It doesn't matter how young we were when we confessed, I know what my heart told me that day. And it remains the same, even to this day. Not a day has gone by, that I never think about you." Tails told her.
"I love you too, Miles. And the same as you, my feelings have not changed. It always remains the same, with you." Cream replied, with a smile.
Tails smiles back, and he pressed his lips gently against Cream's lips again, sharing another passionate kiss. The kiss lasted ten seconds, until Cream stopped him, playfully.
"OK, Tails, before we get carried away here, are you forgetting that we're on a mission?" Cream teased.
"Yeah, you're right about that. We do still have a mission to carry on, so we better get the dirt back to Knuckles' palace, and get this lie detector sorted. Anything I can do to help prove that my brother is innocent." Tails smiled.
"You think the world of Sonic, don't you?" Cream smiled back.
"Oh, yeah. I owe so much to Sonic. He has saved my life many times in our adventures. Sure, I've helped him a few times, and repaired his gadgets and whatnot, but that still doesn't own up to the stuff that he has done for me. Without him, I wouldn't know where I would be." Tails mentioned.
With that, Tails was spinning his two tails, and flew upwards. Cream flapped her ears, and also flew upwards. She held onto one of Tails' hand.
"It's just as well we both know how to fly. This makes travelling home easier, as you forgot to bring the Tornado with you." Cream teased.
"Well, I didn't forget it, I just didn't want to waste energy in the Tornado, while we're on an adventure. But yes, our abilities to fly makes travelling easier." Tails smiled.
And with that, both Tails and Cream left Red Mountain, with the backpack full of the dirt gathered from there. So far, Shadow and Rouge have the sand from Sandopolis, and Tails and Cream have the dirt from Red Mountain. It is now all up to Knuckles and Tikal to retrieve some molten rock from Lava Reef, and Sonic and Amy to gather the mushrooms from Mushroom Hill.
This was not going to be an easy adventure for them, but for the sake of Sonic's innocence, they had to do what they must, in order to gather as much material as they can, for Tails' lie detector. And even if Tails does get this lie detector to work, would this be enough to convince the audience that Sonic is innocent, or will the people still believe that lie detectors are not accurate, and still believe Sonic is a murderer?
