"So, when you said it would be a quick trip, did you mean that it would be about a 4-hour shopping spree?" Prim asked April as the group sat down on a bench to take a break from walking. The group had gone to what felt like every shop in the town. "Well if you're hanging out with Auntie April, then your definitely going to have long shopping spree hours." Ava said as she grabbed Buttercup's leash and got up. Buttercup loved all the attention Ava gave him. Ava reminded him of Prim when she was twelve before all the reaping stuff affected her and her family, which at the time consisted of him, Katniss, and her mom. He LOVED it. Buttercup started to walk towards the fish store, but Ava had a firm grip and pulled him back. He hissed and tried to resist her but it was useless. For someone so young it was surprising what a grip she had."A STORM OR WHATEVER TYPE OF FOG THIS IS, IS FORMING ALONG THE SHORELINE. WE SUGGEST YOU GO BACK TO YOUR HOMES BEFORE THE STORM COMES ONSHORE!" All the intercoms in the mall said. "A storm?!" Ava exclaimed. "Last time we had a storm was chaotic. We have to get back to our homes." April said as she stood up. Prim followed suit and then noticed something odd about the image on her phone. "It looks like it's not a normal type of storm. It reminds me of the Poisonous fog from the hunger games Quarter Quell." Prim said and then remembered that they wouldn't know what she was talking about because they never watched the hunger games. They never knew about Panem. They looked at her confused but all she said was, "Let's go. I'm afraid it's gonna affect the town really badly." They all started to run towards the exit with Buttercup in the lead. When they got outside, their hair whipped around in the heavy breeze. The air felt like everything could die at any moment. Prim knew that some other force was at play than just weather. Maybe it's Snow who's doing this. But there's been no sighting of him in two years! Prim's mind went wild with many theory's about who was behind this fog attack as the group ran to their houses.

Once Prim was safely in her house she noticed that she couldn't even see through the deck windows. The fog had come on land. She heard a little ping! from her phone. She looked down and read the text. She responded with, I know. It's getting worse. It is a poisonous fog that makes your limbs go crazy and you can't control them. Eventually, it will kill you unless you can be saved. But being inside a building should save us. The fog won't stay long. The maximum amount is 4 days. The rest of the day seemed to go very slowly as Prim waited for any new information on the fog and when they were allowed to go outside again. Prim decided now would be the best time to open the family scrapbook. Buttercup mewed happily as he saw that this was the opportunity to get attention from Prim. He missed the scratches she used to give him before the reaping that should have sent her into the games but Katniss volunteered herself as tribute. Buttercup hadn't cared at all that Prim's sister had volunteered as tribute. He didn't even know what the big deal was when he saw Prim crying the day of the reaping. Prim sat down on the couch near the windows by the doors to the deck and opened up the scrapbook. Buttercup jumped up onto the couch and sat on Prim's lap. After 5 minutes, Prim couldn't keep her eyes open and drifted off into sleep.

Prim woke up to a dark and cold house. She got up and grabbed the remote to the TV. She pressed the power button but nothing happened. She tried again but still, nothing happened. Did the power go out? Probably did. This is worse than I expected. She thought to herself about the previous day's events. The house was so silent without the power on that Prim could hear even a mouse scurrying on the hardwood floor. It had been a couple of minutes full of just silence until she heard a loud crash coming from downstairs. She ran down the stairs to investigate and noticed that one of the windows was smashed. She could see the Fog starting to fill the lower levels of the house. She shouted "BUTTERCUP? WHERE ARE YOU?" She knew she and Buttercup had to leave immediately. She ran back up to the deck and grabbed Buttercup who hissed at her because he had been sleeping. She threw one of her old shoes at the windows of her deck and didn't care that she broke a window. She ran out onto the deck and Jumped down onto the ground. Once she landed, adrenaline coursed through her body. She ran as fast as she could to April's house. She knew she wouldn't stay self-concussions for much longer. It seemed like her body was already starting to lose control. She told Buttercup that they would have to find shelter quickly if they wanted to live. Prim heard something in the bushes move and when the figure popped out, she ran like she never had before. She looked behind her after a couple of minutes to see if the figure was still following her. He was. "Wait! Stop!" The figure shouted as he ran after her. Prim halted as soon as she saw a clearing on the side of the street. "What do you want?" She yelled as the figure slowed to a stop. "I wanted to warn you about something." The figure told her as he slowly walked up towards her. "What is it you want me to be warned about?" She asked fiercely. "I wanted to warn you that soon Snow will be here! You are his target! He won't stop until he gets you!" "What do you mean by that?!" she told the figure. "He will create a war against you! The war is still going on!" The figure shouted back. Before Prim could respond, a dark shadow sucked him into the blackness.
