Hot shot and Hannah were playing. Summer was almost over. "I hop summer ends soon I am so looking forward to school," Hannah said.
"I know you are and school starts soon," Alan said.
"Yes and Hot shot will be starting school soon too," Heatwave said.
"I don't want to go to Kindergarten," Hot shot said. "I want to stay home with mom," he said.
"I'm pretty scared," Hannah said.
"Hannah and Hot shot your first day may seem kind of scary but it's not that bad," Travis said.
"You will be ready when it starts in a week you will see," Libby said.
"But I can't go," Hot shot said.
"Why not?" Blades asked.
"I want to build with my blocks," Hot shot said.
"Same here," Hannah said.
"Kindergarten has a large tub of blocks," James said.
"But I want to make a picture for the rescue bot team," Hot shot said.
"I want to make picture for my brothers and sisters," Hannah said.
"You two can make them a picture in kindergarten, they got lots of paints, markers, pencils, and crayons in every color you can think of," Ally said.
"But what if I want to play game?" Hot shot said.
"Yeah?" Hannah asked.
"They have lots of different areas in the classroom to play all sorts of games," Travis said.
"But I want to listen to a story book," Hot shot said.
"Me too," Hannah said.
"They have lots of books and stories, even ones you haven't heard before," Trisha said.
"But what if the teacher doesn't like me?" Hot shot asked.
"What if she doesn't like me either?" Hannah asked.
"You two are very likeable," Heatwave said.
"Yes everything will be fine once you make some friends," Boulder said.
"But what if I can't make any friends?" Hot shot asked.
"I have Noah as a friend and he's great but I don't have any other friends," Hannah said.
"You two will make friends you will see," Alan said.
"So don't worry," Ambula said.
"Yes and as you know new bots had moved in to the island so there will be plenty of young bots your age to play with and make friends with, and you teacher is bot too, and you will even make some new human friends I bet too," Hightemp said.
"But I am afraid, I won't do well and I am afraid to be away from my parents, I never been to school before," Hot shot said.
"I never been to school before either," Hannah said.
"Hannah and Hot shot it's normal to be scared when you first start school no matter how old you are," Libby said.
"Remember how scared you were when you first came to earth that you couldn't sleep?" Hightemp asked.
"Yes Hannah gave me the stuffed rhino her mom ordered for you along with the stuffed elephant that you kept from the order so I could get to sleep," Hot shot said. "Now Roxy is my favorite toy," he said.
"Both Noah and Hannah are going into the same grade and school as you are so you will have some people you know there," Blades told him.
"Son it will be alright trust me, you are my little rescuer," Heatwave said. "I know you are brave, and you can handle this, so give it a try," he said.
"Okay," Hot shot said.
"That's my boy," Heatwave said.
The week went by fast and soon it was the first day of school. Hot shot was ready for it he had his backpack and lunch. Hannah had her backpack and her lunch.
"Come on kids you don't want to be a late on the first day," Alan said.
"Coming," Hannah said.
"Okay I am coming," Hot shot said.
"Let's walk to school okay Hannah?" Alan said.
"Okay," Hannah said.
"I am going to come with you so you will be fine," Heatwave told Hot shot.
"Okay dad," Hot shot said.
They headed for the school. "Whoa the school has changed big time it's now big enough for bot and human children," Hannah said.
"It sure is big," Hot shot said.
"Of course Hot shot you're a big boy," Heatwave said.
"Hannah you are a big girl," Alan said.
They headed to the classes.
Hannah followed her father and Hot shot followed his father to the kindergarten area. Hot shot was plenty nervous about this. They made it to the classroom. "Hello there I am Ms. Lightburst," the teacher said.
"Hi I'm Hot shot," Hot shot said.
"I'm Hannah," Hannah said.
"Well go find you two go your seats," she told him.
Hannah found her seat and Hot shot found his seat. He sat down and saw he and Hannah were the first kids there. "Okay Hot shot I got to go I will be back to pick you up when school is over," Heatwave said.
"I will be back to pick you up after school Hannah," Alan said.
Hannah hugged Alan.
Hot shot hugged Heatwave and then his dad left. Hot shot was scared. Then more kids came in. Noah's seat was next to Hannah and he sat next to her. One bot was boy and he was orange. He sat near Hot shot. "Hi," Hot shot said.
"Hi," the boy bot said.
"I'm Hot shot," Hot shot said.
"My name is Wedge," Wedge said.
More kids came in a girl named Jenny sat next to Hannah along with a boy named Leo who sat next to Noah.
Then another bot came in a boy and he was white and red. He sat with Wedge and Hot shot. "I'm Hot shot," Hot shot said.
"My name is Wedge," Wedge said.
"I am Medix," Medix said.
Then a girl bot came in and sat with them. "Hi I'm Hot shot," Hot shot said.
"My name is Wedge," Wedge said.
"I am Medix," Medix said.
"I'm Whirl," Whirl said.
Then more bots came in and one bot was young boy who was teal and clinging to his mother. "No," he said.
"It's okay sweetie everything will be fine," his mom said and then pried him off and left.
The young boy bot sat with Hot shot and the others.
"I'm Hot shot," Hot shot said.
"My name is Wedge," Wedge said.
"I am Medix," Medix said.
"I'm Whirl," Whirl said.
"I am Hoist," Hoist said.
The whole class was now there.
"Good morning Kindergarten," Ms. Lightburst said.
"Good morning Ms. Lightburst," the class said.
The class was eager to begin and there was a lot to do. There was an art area, a sand table, a water table, a dress up area, an area with books, and an area full of many toys like blocks.
Hannah and Noah and their new friends played dress up.
Hot shot started to build with the blocks. "Can I play?" Wedge asked.
"Me too?" Medix asked.
"Can I play as well?" Whirl said.
"Can I play too?" Hoist asked.
"Sure we can play together," Hot shot said. The five of them started to build with the blocks. Then another young bot came up. "Hi," Hot shot said.
"I'm Scorch can I play with you guys?" Scorch asked.
"Sure," Hot shot said and the others nodded.
They were building with the blocks ad the made a block city. "Hey Ms. Lightburst we made a block city," Wedge said.
"What a very nice block city it is," Ms. Lightburst said.
The the day continued. Hannah and her friends were drawing while Hot shot and his new friends started to color and paint. They heard a story and they sang songs, they also were excited to learn about the alphabet and learn the numbers.
Then Recess rolled around the kids went out.
"I want to be a rescue bot who fights fires when I grow up, just like my dad," Hot shot said.
"I want to be a construction rescue bot," Wedge said.
"I want to be a police rescue bot," Whirl said.
"I want to be a medical rescue bot," Medix said.
"I want to be a engineer rescue bot," Hoist said.
"I want to be a cube player," Scorch said. "Sorry to throw off the pattern," he said.
"It's okay we all have our own dreams," Whirl said.
"We have dreams too," Hannah said. "I want to be a rescue worker like my family," she said.
"I want to be scientist like my mom," Noah said.
"I want to be a teacher," Leo said.
"I want to be a nurse," Jenny said.
"So what do we do at recess?" Hot shot asked.
"It looks like we play," Wedge said.
"Then let's play," Hoist said.
They started to run and play. When lunch time rolled around they ate their lunch. They went back to class and continued to learn. Then the bell rang. "Okay class see you tomorrow," Ms. Lightburst said.
Hot shot and Hannah left the classroom and they went out of the school building and saw Heatwave and Alan.
"Dad!" Hannah said.
"Hi, Hannah," Alan said.
"Dad!" Hot shot said.
"Hello Hot shot," Heatwave said with a smile. Hot shot jumped in his dad's arms.
Then they went home. "How was you first day?" Heatwave asked when they got home.
"It was very exciting, and fun, there was a big tub of blocks and lots paints, crayons, and markers, there was even clay, There was an area to play dress up, an area to build in the sand and a water table." Hot shot said. "Wedge, Medix, Whirl, Hoist and Scorch all built this huge block city," he said.
"Who are Wedge, Medix, Whirl, Hoist and Scorch?" Heatwave asked.
"They are the friends I made," Hot shot said.
"That's great," Heatwave said.
"Did you have a good first day?" Libby asked Hannah.
"Yes Noah and I are in the same class, we played dress up and drew pictures and played with our new friends Jenny and Leo," Hannah said.
"I hope you are looking forward to going back to school tomorrow," Heatwave said.
"Tomorrow?" Hot shot asked.
"Tomorrow?" Hannah asked as well.
"Yes you go to school Monday through Friday," Heatwave explained.
"Cool," Hot shot said.
Hannah and Hot shot were looking forward to going back to school again.
