2am The night of
I clutched my knees tighter to my chest as I listened for the heavy foot falls and the clink of metal against linoleum. I didn't want to come but she pulled the favor card. Becca swore it was going to be fine. That the stories are just stories and that I wasn't going to get hurt or disappear. I didn't even want to be here. This was the worst idea she ever had and when speaking about my best friend that was saying something.
Two Days Before
"Please! You wouldn't really make me go alone would you?"
Becca gave me a pouty face and crossed her arms as we stood at my locker before last period. I shoved my history book into my backpack and sling it up onto my shoulder. I pushed my stray hairs out of my face and looked at my best friend.
"That place is so creepy! I don't think I can do it."
"Please please go with me! Rach it'll be fine! Nothing ever really happened."
"That they could prove!" Mitchell Parks said coming up behind me.
I closed my locker and fell into step with them as we walked to class. Becca had taken a bet from her self proclaimed arch nemesis Shaylee Grey, that if she could spend one night inside Freddy Fazbears Pizzeria then she would pay her 500. She had spent the rest of the school day trying to convince me to go with her and split the money.
Mr. Bellman, our US History teacher, was passing back our last test when a piece of paper landed on my desk. I unfolded it to read the note from Becca.
What if I can get Rylan to come with us? Would you go then?
Rylan Baker was the cutest boy in school. He had light brown hair and green eyes and had moved here from California and had this perfect tan on his skin. I was completely in love with him.
That is a big if but if you can get Captain Hottie to go I am in.
10pm The night of
" So Rachel, do you believe the stories about this place?" Rylan asked as we pulled into the empty parking lot.
" Uh, not really. I mean Freddy's has always been creepy to me."
"Rach has always had a fear of large mascot costumes." Becca said as she climbed out of the front seat.
The Freddys sign seemed to glare down at me as I got out of the car. Becca had gotten Mitchell and Rylan to come with us and Mitch had a cousin who worked in the kitchen so he left a window in the back open for us.
As we walked around the back of the building I felt my stomach drop. Becca wasn't wrong. I was terrified of mascots but I don't know why. It's been that way as long as I can remember. Mitch and Becca have been my friends for a long time and they always had my back when giant costume heads were involved. Freddy's was a different entity though... I wasn't sure anyone could help me in there.
"Rach? Let's go!" Mitch and Rylan were waiting to boost me through the window.
I took a deep breath and climbed up. No going back now...
