Kurono ran toward the temple, checking the time on his device with an angry expression.
00:16:22.
The timer hasn't stopped, which means Nishi hasn't defeated the boss yet. Why the fuck did he go off on his own! I told him my memory of that fight is fuzzy, so why the hell would he head in so blindly! Kurono gasped as they got closer, and it triggered a memory.
"Hey, suit guys," Kondo shouted as he and Tomashino ran toward Kurono, Kato, and the two girls. "There's a whole bunch of em."
The team stopped and gasped. "What, not just one?"
Kurono tightened his hold on his gun, fearing the worst. "Come on! We need to-"
"Stay right the fuck there!"
The team halted just below the steps leading up to the temple.
The team gaped in shock at the sight of Haruya, bloodied face, holding an x-gun.
Kurono glared at the biker. How the fuck is he still alive!
Tetsuo narrowed his eyes at his former friend. "Haruya, are you out of your mind, we don't have time to deal with your shit right now."
Haruya laughed. "Do you think I'm kidding? I know exactly what I'm doing here. See, I figured if that stupid black ball only takes our points away if the timer runs out, then I don't have to do anything but keep you here until it does."
"What the hell are you talking about, Haruya, you're insane. We have to kill the rest of the aliens before it's too late."
Kato stepped forward. "That's right. Letting the timer run out should never be an option! We don't know if that's what it does every time!"
Kurono glanced up at the temple and then back to Haruya. I should have kept my mouth shut about the rules until that fuck was dead. But I wanted to at least give Tetsuo a chance… "Hey! Fat fuck, who are you kidding anyway, there's nine of us, and only one of you, so what are you trying to prove?" Kurono was getting angry, and his fingers twitched on the triggers of his gun. Kurono noticed the dog growling angrily and huffed a small laugh. "The dog too, I guess."
"I don't have to prove anything! See I know that none of you fucktards have the guts to kill me." Haruya looked at Tetsuo. "None of you." The man then laughed. "And oh so conveniently, it would seem that the one of you that could, and would, isn't here right now. What a pity."
Kurono gritted his teeth. Is he talking about Nishi?
Tetsuo stepped forward to grab Haruya's jacket. "You don't think I got the guts to kill you huh? Well maybe we should test that."
"We so don't have the time for this," Kato said in frustration and moved toward the temple. The sound of the x-gun halted him, and he turned quickly to face the biker.
The rest of the team gasped and fell into silence. Kishimoto stepped to Kato's side and grew extremely concerned. "Kato?"
Kurono narrowed his eyes. "Don't worry, the suit will protect you this time," he said, still glaring at Haruya as he stepped toward him. "You're going to wish you never did that."
Soon enough, Kato's suit fuzzed with static, and he blinked in surprise. "I didn't get shot?"
Kishimoto sighed in relief.
"That's sort of a relief to know," Kondo said. "Encase we accidently shoot each other with our own weapons."
Haruya laughed. "Oh trust me, that was definitely no accident. Have you forgotten I already capped that priests ass?" Haruya's laugh was cut short by a hard punch to the face; he landed on his back, and the gun slipped from his hand.
Kurono looked down at him with a fist still slightly raised. "I may not quite have the guts to kill you, but I can still kick your ass shithead."
Haruya held his face, glaring up at Kurono. "I have a suit on too."
Kurono grinned. "Yeah, but I know how to use it a lot better than you do."
Tetsuo stepped beside Kurono. "I'll take care of him, we're gonna run out of time, and for all we know, Nishi could be dead by now, so hurry up."
"I'll stay here," JJ said as he stood on the other side, towering over Haruya.
Kurono, Kato, Kishimoto, Sei, and the rest of the team proceeded toward the temple with raised weapons.
"Hey, it's stuck," Kato said as he tried to pull open the door.
"What do you mean it's stuck?"
"Look," Kishimoto pointed, "It looks like something is jammed at the end."
"She's right," Sei confirmed, "This side too."
"But who would-"
Kurono growled. "That fuck. You can bet he's responsible." Kurono pulled back his fist. "But I'll still get through!"
Before Kurono could make them an entrance, something crashed through the doors he narrowly avoided, causing the team to shield themselves from the splintered wood and dust.
When the dust settled, they turned to face what caused it, and Kurono was the first to react. "Nishi!" Kurono, who was soon followed by Kato and the others, ran to where Nishi had landed at the bottom steps. Kurono turned Nishi onto his back and revealed his condition. Blood covered part of Nishi's face and trickled from his mouth when he coughed. Nishi was bleeding profusely from his abdomen, and to make the situation worse, his suit appeared to have failed. "Nishi, can you hear me?"
Nishi couldn't open his eyes, but he could hear Kurono's voice. "Kei… I tried, but… too many… so many fucking arms… and the statues… I took out three, but I couldn't…"
00:24:00.
Nishi opened the doors to the temple with enough space to walk through, x-rifle held tightly in his hands. He immediately noticed four other warrior statues, two on either side of an armed Buddha. Nishi slowly walked forward and stopped at the bottom of the steps, which led to the open area shrine. The boss Kurono told him about was exactly how he'd described it. Nishi had planned to take the thing out in a few shots but hadn't anticipated the other aliens acting like bodyguards. Nishi studied the Buddha for a moment, wondering which of the arms he needed to be rid of to defeat it. Kurono had told him that at least three of them were highly dangerous due to the weapons they carried; a jar of acid, an object resembling a lantern that fired some kind of laser, and of course, the object which turned back time. However, taking out those three arms wouldn't kill it; there were still many others with which the alien could use against him. It's no wonder everyone died. Nishi regarded the four guards with caution. Why are there so many fucking statues! Nishi glared back at the boss, andafter a few seconds, he found the three main points on the Buddha. The question is, do I kill the armed alien first, or do I take down these fuckers. Nishi pursed his lips and took a couple of steps back as he shifted to the side. Since they can't see me, I guess it doesn't matter, but they are, technically, his guards, so I'd be better off killing them first. And I already know I can do that. Nishi grinned when he thought about his little competition on the roof with the sniper.
While the challenge was fun, Nishi wasn't stupid and would prefer to kill the guards in front of him before they started moving. Either way, the result is the same, and I still get to see them die the best way possible.
Unbeknownst to Nishi, the eyes of the armed Buddha followed him as he walked onto the center step in front of the first guard on the left. Aside from the Suzuki alien, it's been quite some time since I've faced an alien directly on my own. I've forgotten how thrilling it can be.
Nishi raised his weapon with a grin.
"Itsunurusaraseniyokuraseyo."
Nishi glanced to the right when he heard the mysterious voice, lowering his gun slightly.
"Nikaresamijikisugeyo."
Nishi took a step back and gasped when he realized the armed Buddha's eyes were directly on him, staring almost lifelessly into his own. "Shit…" Just to be completely sure, Nishi moved one step to the side, and the eyes moved ever so slightly, an indication that they were indeed following him. Nishi's eyes widened in fear. It can see me!
"Shinimosusesamu," the alien continued in its unknown language.
Nishi's heart began to hammer in his chest as he took a glance at the statue in front of him. Does that mean…
"Hanushinusuru. Mugenimougoromu. Korahainufudoshiruzuzu."
Nishi gritted his teeth and quickly raised his gun. I shouldn't have hesitated in my decision. Fuck. Nishi jumped back from the steps to aim for the arm holding the time device first, which was located on one of the back arms on the right, but just as he pulled the trigger, Nishi caught sight of a small white twinkle in his peripheral vision and narrowly avoided the thin laser that fired from the lantern, aimed for his chest. "Shit!" Nishi gulped. Too close. I'm way too fucking close to these things.
The time lag from Nishi's gun ended, and one of the guards' head's exploded. Nishi gave a short laugh. "At least the shot wasn't completely in vain." Nishi turned and fired his weapon at the statue on the left closest to the front with new confidence, but it flew up into the air and then slowly descended toward the teen. Just as Nishi was about to fire again, the two other statues behind floated up and toward him. I can't allow them to surround me, or I'm fucked. Nishi turned and ran for the doors, which he noticed were now closed. "Shit!" There was no time to question why the doors were now slid shut again, and even though it would take but a few seconds to open them, a few seconds would be all the time needed for the statues to attack. I don't have a fucking choice. Nishi dared a glance over his shoulder and really wished he hadn't since they appeared to be about six feet away. "Fuck!" Nishi reached the door and pulled at the right side, but it didn't budge. "It's not opening…" Nishi tried pushing the left side and then pulled at both together, but still, it didn't open. This can't be happening.
Nishi raised his fist to punch a hole in the door, but a statue landed right behind him. Nishi quickly turned and sent it flying back with a hard punch, and when he turned back to the door, another statue landed right beside him. "Shit!" Without warning, the statue used both palms to strike Nishi in the chest. Nishi hit the wall hard before collapsing to the floor. The teen quickly stood up and barely had time to recover as the Buddha started shooting the laser at him. Nishi darted across the floor and jumped behind the low shrine wall, ducking his head when one of the gold tops broke into pieces. Nishi dared to look round, and his eyes widened when he saw them closing in on him. Nishi stood and ran around the shrine, ducking when more of the gold tops blew up as the alien continued to fire at him.
Nishi fired his gun at one of the smaller statues before skidding past it to dodge its attack and another shot from behind as he stood up. The statue exploded when the time lag ended. "Two down," Nishi muttered with a deep breath. Nishi turned and ducked when the laser shot at him once more and ran forward before jumping into the air, aiming a kick for the Buddha's lantern, gun at the ready, but a warrior statue mimicked his moves and towered above him. Nishi glanced up in time to see the statue come down on him head-first. Nishi cried out when his head felt the impact and was sent crashing to the floor.
Nishi groaned and rolled over before slowly lifting himself up, trying to blink away the dark spots that obscured his vision momentarily. Nishi could feel blood dripping from his forehead and shook his head before it got in his eyes. Nishi looked up when he heard the Buddha approach and gasped as a green substance came toward him; he pushed away from the floor with his hands and avoided the attack. Nishi watched with a horrified expression as the acid melted a hole in the floor. "Fuck…"
Nishi darted to the side when the statue who head-butted him flew toward him. The teen managed to obtain his rifle when he rolled forward, turning quickly and firing at the oncoming alien before rolling to the side to avoid its landing. When Nishi got to his feet, the statue blew up.
Nishi turned to face the Buddha with gritted teeth and threw his weapon to the floor in favor of the trap gun in his holster; he had seen most of the Gantz team take x-guns and was annoyed that nobody had bothered to take the other weapon, so he grabbed one for himself. If I can't get those arms, I'll send it away. That time device can't revert if it disappears. "You're dead!"
Nishi yelped when the trap gun was kicked from his hand when he fired, and he missed his target. It was the statue that Nishi had punched before. Damn! The boy raised his fist and struck the statue, and even though it slid backward, the hit was blocked by its palm and didn't have the intended effect.
Nishi dived for the trap gun, and just as he turned to fire it, the Buddha was already shadowing him. Nishi gave a fearful yelp but didn't have time to avoid its attack this time, and the alien's sword quickly pierced through his abdomen.
"Shinimosuseasamu," the Buddha said coldly and quickly removed the sword.
Nishi held his injury tightly, his vision blurry as he looked up, blood dripping to the floor. "I… won't… die…" With a last bit of effort, Nishi jumped up and kicked the Buddha in the face and sent it flying backward, but as he landed, he collapsed to his knees when the suit started to leak. Nishi struggled to his feet but stumbled at the effort and could barely see straight to locate either of his guns. I can't…
Nishi heard a sound coming toward him but didn't have enough strength to avoid it, and a short cry left his mouth when the statue rammed into him full force.
Kurono frowned. "Why the hell did you go alone! What did you think you could achieve on your own!" Kurono remembered thinking those exact words about himself in those final moments before he was pulled back in time. Nishi slightly whimpered in pain when Kurono lifted his head up. "Don't you fucking die on me, d'you hear me, asshole! Nishi, you better hang on."
"Kurono!" Kishimoto shouted as everyone turned to face the temple to see the armed Buddha and the one remaining statue that Nishi couldn't kill. "It's – it's coming this way."
Kato gasped at them. "Kei, is that the boss?"
Kurono glared at the alien with pure hatred, remembering those it had killed the last time. Kishimoto, Sei, Hojo, and Sadako… There were probably others, but those were the ones Kurono remembered. Kurono tightened his grip slightly on Nishi, almost protectively. "Everyone! Be careful, that thing is extremely dangerous! Watch out for all those objects it's carrying, they can kill you instantly!"
The smaller statue suddenly blew up, causing everyone to turn their heads.
"Hey!" Hojo shouted as he, Sadako, and Togo ran toward them. "We got the other statue and – holy shit!" The three halted instantly when they spotted the armed Buddha. "Is that the boss? What the fuck! How can we kill an alien with so many arms!" Hojo looked to Kurono, and it was then he noticed Nishi. "Oh crap, is he alive?"
Kurono still glared at the alien but answered all the same. "Barely, but not for much longer if we don't get him somewhere safe and finish this."
Hojo looked at the timer.
00:11:25.
"Can we even defeat such a thing in under twelve minutes?"
"If we act quickly and watch its moves carefully, we have a chance."
"Kyasurahamokarane," they heard the odd voice of the alien speak.
Suddenly, the laser fired at them and moved over the team, trying to take out as many players as possible. The ones closest to the alien, Kato, Kishimoto, and Sei, managed to lay flat to the floor. Kurono covered his head as he ducked, and in doing so, covered most of Nishi's body. The laser moved up slightly to those further away and darted sidewards. JJ and Tomashino tried to run from it instead of ducking, but the laser cut through them as easily as butter.
"No!" Kondo shouted with anguish. "Toma!"
The rest of the team gasped when the two bodies fell in halves. The laser fired again quickly, giving the team no time to run, and Togo gave a yelp of pain when his legs were sliced in half, and he fell down the steps. When Haruya stood up and tried to shove Tetsuo forward to the laser, the red-haired biker clocked him in the face with his x-gun. Haruya stumbled backward, and the laser sliced through him diagonally just under the shoulder. Kayo pulled Ryota to one side, and the laser barely missed her ankles.
"Someone take a shot at it!" Kurono shouted as he desperately tried to drag Nishi to a safer distance, hoping the laser didn't slice him in half as he did so. "The circular object on the right! Aim for that!"
While the rest of the team tried their best to avoid the deadly weapon, Rice growled and quickly ran toward the armed-Buddha, jumped, and knocked the lantern straight out of the alien's hand. "Butter dog?" Kato blinked in surprise. "Okay, it's distracted! Everybody shoot!"
"Rice!" Ryota left Kayo's side to retrieve the dog.
Kayo reached out to stop him. "Ryota, come back."
The dog barked and happily started running back toward the team, but the armed Buddha moved forward and raised the vase it carried to throw out the contents of it just as the boy reached the dog's side. The dog licked the boy's face, both unaware of the liquid acid coming toward them.
"Kid! Get the fuck away from there!" Tetsuo shouted, firing multiple shots at the alien.
"Ryota!" Kayo yelled and ran forward.
Hojo's eyes widened. "Oh shit, now the old lady is gonna get killed!"
"No!" Kishimoto reached out for them but knew she wouldn't reach them in time despite how she tried.
Ryota turned to look behind him and started to scream when he noticed a green liquid come his way, but before the acid had its chance to meet the boy's body, Kayo stepped in the way. "Grandma!" The acid hit the old woman's torso from the front. Kayo's eyes widened, and tears fell from her eyes when the top half of her body melted away from the rest, falling to the ground. "Grandma! Grandma!" Rice immediately ran to a safer distance, leaving Ryota to stare in horror at the sight.
"Keep firing," Kato said in anguish, hoping they could take the alien out quickly. "Don't let it kill anyone else!"
"The round thing, Kei said to shoot the circled object!" Sei shouted, aiming for one of the right arms.
The time lags ended, and the results of their struggles paid off when several arms exploded, including that of the time device and the acid vase. "Yes!" Kondo shouted as the team smiled at their accomplishments.
"It's over yet! Keep going, we can win!" Ryota knelt beside Kayo's melted body, sobbing uncontrollably. "And forgodsake, someone get the kid out of the way," Kato said.
Hojo ran forward. "I'm on it, just don't hit me!"
Just as Hojo reached the boy, a sword swung at them, and the boy's head was sliced off. Hojo jolted backward, but the swing of the sword also caught his arm, and it came off at the elbow. Hojo fell backward with a scream of pain but immediately scrambled away. "Shit! Shit! My fucking arm!"
Kishimoto covered her mouth, staring at both the old lady and her grandson, who they had failed to protect.
Thunder began to grumble lightly in the distance, followed by heavy rain. Sadako helped Hojo to stand and run from the alien with the rest of the team as the armed Buddha jumped toward them.
Kurono stopped behind a small temple wall and leaned over his teammate, frowning at the blood washing away from Nishi's clothes. "Nishi, are you still with me? Hey, talk to me." Kurono lightly slapped the teen's face.
"Trap gun," Nishi said softly.
Kurono leaned forward, unsure if he heard Nishi properly. "What?"
Nishi's hand twitched to curl to a fist as blood trickled from his mouth. "Use the… trap gun…."
Kurono gritted his teeth, worried about Nishi's condition. "But do we even have one of those with us?" Kurono started to panic when Nishi didn't reply. "Nishi! Hey! Hang on!"
"I… dropped it… back inside the… I tried to use it before… but the other statue…."
Kurono clenched his fists. "Damn it, just hang on, okay? I'll finish that fucker off, but you can't fucking die on me."
"It's… so cold… the rain hurts…."
Kurono glanced to the side and dragged Nishi to lay him under a low roof. "Don't die," Kurono repeated, stood up, and ran back to his team, praying they were all okay.
"Shit, for someone who's lost some limbs, it sure does move fast!" Tetsuo shouted, narrowly avoided the sword. There had been so many on their team before, and now…
Tetsuo looked at those who had already been killed by this one alien. The old lady and the kid, Haruya, JJ, and Tomashino. Nishi had already been severely injured before they even began to fight it, and Hojo just lost an arm. Kato's suit was fucked too. It all boiled down to him, Kondo, and three women. Even the sniper was out of commission. "Shit, this really fucking sucks." Tetsuo frowned as the alien jumped toward them. "Just where in the fuck is Kurono anyway!"
Kishimoto fired her x-gun at the alien. "I don't know."
"He'll come back," Sei said with a frown. "Kei wouldn't run away."
Hojo gritted his teeth, trying his best to stay alert. "I think… he took Nishi somewhere safe…."
Tetsuo clicked his tongue. "Damn it, nowhere is safe if that thing kills us all!"
00:04:22.
Kato glared at the alien. His suit might be gone, but he felt utterly useless staying back from the fight while his team fought bravely. I have to do something. Kato ran forward with a new boost of confidence, ready to grab the alien bare-handed to allow them to shoot, but before he could, something wrapped itself around the alien, entrapping the rest of its arms and pinning it to the ground.
"What the hell?" Tetsuo questioned in surprise.
"It's – it's trapped," Kato said and looked behind the alien to see none other than Kurono standing by the steps of the temple holding a trap gun. "Kei!" he shouted with relief. "Way to go!"
Sei smiled. "I knew he'd be back."
Kishimoto sighed in relief as she ran to Kato's side, unable to imagine what could have happened if Kurono hadn't shown up.
Kurono walked forward until he was a mere few feet away from the alien. "I got you fucker, there's no escape for you now," he said and pulled the trigger.
The alien screeched as the top of its head began to disappear, and cheers erupted from the remaining Gantz players.
"You did it Kei!"
Halfway through the transportation, a green slug-like form sprung from the remaining armed Buddha and dropped to the ground in a heap before emerging as a large muscular, fully formed alien with six arms and a large, thick tail.
"What the fuck!" Kurono gasped at the new adversary, wondering if this had happened before. "Christ, look at it!"
"We're so fucked!" Kondo shouted.
The rest of the team gaped in horror. "Will this ever end," Tetsuo muttered in disbelief.
The alien turned around quickly to face Kurono and struck him with a hard punch to the face, causing him to fly backward.
"Kei!" Kato shouted as Kurono skidded across the asphalt.
"Kurono!" Kishimoto called in concern.
Sei ran to Kurono but was grabbed by the throat.
Kishimoto turned to face them with a gasp. "No, let her go!" Before Kishimoto could even get near the alien, she was struck at the side of her head.
Kato ran to Kishimoto's side and lifted her up. "Are you alright?"
Kishimoto nodded, and they both stood up together in time to see Kurono come running back toward the alien.
"That thing just won't die," Hojo said as he collapsed due to blood loss. Sadako gasped and fell to her knees, reaching for his hand to hold. "You – you really do care about me… don't you." Sadako nodded.
00:02:45.
"I'm gonna kill you!" Kurono threw back his fist and landed a punch against the alien's face. "Fuck you! We're going back, damn it! We're gonna survive this time!" Kurono repeatedly punched the enemy, using the suit's maximum strength. "We're gonna make it back, and I won't be alone!" Kurono grabbed hold of one of the arms that swung for him and yelled as he ripped it clean off.
"Kill it! You can do it!" Tetsuo shouted.
Kurono dodged a punch to his gut and ducked another before jumping up to deliver an uppercut to the alien's jaw, sending it skidding on its back. Kurono jumped up again and raised his fist when he came hurtling back down for the alien, but at the last second, the alien's leg kicked him hard in the abdomen. Kurono grunted in pain and coughed blood before landing with a thud on his back.
"Kei!" Sei shouted and tried to shoot the alien, but it jumped into the air, heading straight for Kurono.
Kurono gritted his teeth and struggled to stand up when his suit began to fail. Shit. Kurono narrowed his eyes when the alien landed in front of him. "I won't let you win goddamn it!" The alien swiped Kurono with a fist, knocking him to the ground once more.
Rice pined as he slowly padded across the ground, ears down in sadness. Rice crouched when he reached where Nishi laid and whimpered.
Nishi could hear something beside him and heard a small pining noise that sounded suspiciously like a dog. Nishi barely had the strength to speak let alone move and couldn't stop shaking he was so cold, but when Rice carefully lay over him, a slight warmth spread through his body. "Stupid mutt…" Nishi managed to lift his hand up and rest it on top of the dog.
"We need to do something!" Sei shouted.
Kishimoto looked at her. "But we've tried everything; it just won't die!"
Kurono opened his eyes and spotted the fallen trap gun. Will it work twice?
"Hey!" Tetsuo shouted. "Over here you big green piece of shit!"
Kondo's eyes widened. "What the hell are you doing!"
Tetsuo scowled at the man. "Getting its attention, it's called a distraction!"
"It's called getting us killed!"
Kurono grinned. Now's my chance. With a grunt of effort, Kurono stood up and aimed the trap gun, locking onto the alien. I hope another alien doesn't come out of this one. Kurono pulled the trigger, and the triangular anchor flew toward the alien and wrapped around it. "Yes! Got him!"
The alien screeched and began thrashing around. Kurono noticed it started to pull against the anchors to remove them from the ground. "Oh no you don't!" Kurono turned to Sei and shouted, "Throw me your gun!" Kurono didn't think about the selfishness of his actions knowing Sei could have easily gained the points by shooting the alien herself; after everything that they went through the last time, and for those they had lost again, Kurono wanted to personally make sure the alien died by his hand. Sei threw the gun to Kurono without hesitation. "Die asshole!" Kurono fired the x-gun multiple times in a last fit of anger, still consumed by grief from before.
With twenty-four seconds to spare, the alien finally blew to pieces. Kurono glared at the remains, breathing heavily, and lifted his face up to the heavy downpour.
"Is it over?" Kishimoto asked hesitantly and looked at Kato.
"I – think it is," Kato replied, staring in surprise. "Kei, you did it."
The transfer started with Sei being the first, followed by Kishimoto, Tetsuo, Sadako, Hojo, Kondo, Togo, and Kurono.
Tetsuo raised an eyebrow at the sniper. "After I saw your legs get sliced off, I thought you were a gonna."
Togo nodded. "So did I."
Kurono smiled in relief when his friends were there in the room to greet him. They had survived; they actually survived.
Sei hugged him Kurono tightly and whispered, "We made it."
Kishimoto reached for Kato's hand and squeezed it tightly.
Kurono chuckled when the dog appeared and bent over to stroke it. I guess even he made it back.
"Not all of us made it back you know," Tetsuo told them. "The kid ain't here."
Kurono gasped and swerved on his heel to face his team. "Nishi? Where is he?"
Kishimoto looked around, slightly frantic. "He didn't come back with us?"
Kato shook his head. "But I thought – Kei, you were with him, wasn't he…."
Kurono panicked. "But he – he was alive when I left him…."
Togo lowered his head slightly, eyes downcast. "I guess he couldn't hold on…."
Sei lay her hand on Kurono's arm. "Kei, are you alright?"
Kishimoto's eyes glistened with tears, and she lay her head against Kato's side when he wrapped an arm around her. "But he should be back here with us…."
Kurono looked down at the dog who seemed to suddenly lay down with sadness, and he curled his hands into fists, baring his teeth, eyes narrowed at the floor. Even the fucking dog wants you here. Nishi… after all our efforts… you're just gonna die on us? What the hell…
