Hope you like this new chapter! Enjoy, and please tell me what you think! ;)
Volterra, September 30th, 4.18 am
Hi vampires! I'm back with my little rambling, and I wanted to thank every one of you who reads and/or adds a comment on this modest blog. I've noticed we have more of you who don't share our diet reading, maybe out of curiosity, but that's great anyway! You're all welcome!
I wanted to tell you about our lunch today. The Volturi brought us goats and sheep. Now, as a convinced and absolute vegetarian, I'll always say that animal blood is better than human blood, for ethical reasons. But I have to admit that enjoying our meal depends on the animal... For instance, carnivores are much tastier than herbivores. And wild herbivores taste much better than domesticated ones... Do you see where I go here? Goats are passable, shall we say, since the ones we had are wild mountain ones. But sheep... I shudder again recalling them. The scent is awful, and the taste is even worse. I think that only cows are worse than sheep, honestly. My poor mate, refusing to give in to my pleas, had two sheep, leaving me two goats. She almost retched, and only because she was so thirsty did she keep her meal down.
So, if you want to try your hand – and your palate – at animal blood, my advice is: the more dangerous the animal, the better! It means better taste.
Ciao tutti!
Edward Cullen
From GoldenDoc, 4.24 am: Dear me, Edward! Sheep? That's awful!
From HappyMumofSix, 4.25 am: I shall hope the Volturi can treat their guests better than that! Sheep taste like dirt!
From RedCoatsHater, 4.49 am: What do cows taste like, then?
From GrizzlyBear1915, 4.52 am: Cows taste like methane gas. Repulsive!
From SparkyMate, 5.01 am: I tasted a cat once, on a dare. Just thinking of it makes me gag.
From BlondeVenus1915, 5.03 am: A cat? I wonder, since it's a feline, if it's any good. But the poor child deprived of its animal... Shame on you!
From SparkyMate, 5.04 am: It was an old stray, I promise! And I can assure you, it's not any lion... It tasted like litter...
From BlondeVenus1915, 5.06 am: Ewwww!
From SparkyMate, 5.07 am: Indeed...
From AlaskanWildfire, 5.09 am: I'm still apologizing about it, two centuries later!
From SpanishCold, 5.12 am: And with reason! It was appalling.
From USNomad, 5.45 am: All this isn't going to convince me to try animal blood anytime soon!
From RedCoatsHater, 5.52 am: Trust me, USNomad, I wouldn't have either if not for my mate! But I did, and I don't regret it, even though it's hard sometimes. And I can promise you, I really enjoy mountain lion, wolf and grizzly bear.
From GrizzlyBear1915, 5.57 am: Now you're talking, RedCoatsHater! Could you send a grizzly or two here too, please?
From GoldenDoc, 6.03 am: GrizzlyBear1915, you can't have so many animals shipped to where you are. Enjoy the local wildlife!
From GrizzlyBear1915, 6.06 am: One can dream...
