A/N: Hi everyone! I wanted to thank fresh-BLOOD-was-drawn-2night, Yazmin, traceybuie and the fat cats meow for the rewiews! They are what drives me to write this small fic and share it with you! So if more of you could tell me what you think too... (wink wink)

As you probably noticed with the last chapter, some more serious topics will appear, like today. But I'll always try to keep things light ;)

Oh, and if a nickname doesn't make sense, don't hesitate to ask me who hides behind it! ;)

Enjoy, and please review!

Hi vampires! I wanted to write more about the whole humans-are-our-equals thing today. It stirred some turmoil among you, so I wanted to explain myself better by giving you my full reflections on this topic.

As many of you probably already know, I am a mind reader. I hear every thoughts around me, within a certain mile radius, vampires and humans alike. That is why I came to know very early in my vampire life that humans are the same than us on most things. Granted, humans are weak, mortal, disease and/or accident-prone – I'm not talking about you, love! – have a much different diet and lifestyles than us. However, like us, they want to find happiness and love, they care for their family, they are satisfied with a tasty meal, they want to enjoy their life.

As a sedentary vampire, I can agree on the fact that maybe nomadic vampires haven't the same goals, but truthfully, nomads, wouldn't you want all of that if you could?

I have a good example to follow with our mentor and father, Carlisle Cullen. He, unlike me, isn't a mind reader, but he knew right away after his change that he didn't want to hunt humans. So he found his own way, and he even had the restraint and courage to start interacting with humans at some point. I can't help being in awe of him about this. To voluntarily go towards his natural food, respecting them, then helping them, it's just mind-blowing and awe-inspiring.

Maybe you're still not believing me about humans as our equals. Just remember that we were humans at some point, before our change. And I'd encourage you to try something. Choose a random human, and watch him or her. Then try to copy their slow movements, their way of talking and acting. Then go see them. Try to engage them in some mindless conversation. Humans like to talk about the weather, mothers about their children, most men about sports. Just one or two sentences, hiding your teeth and your thirst. You'll be amazed by their responses. Just try, and see for yourselves.

Edward

From GoldenDoc, 3.31 pm: I'm so proud and touched, Edward! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

From ConfederatesNeverDie, 3.40 pm: The very first time interacting with humans is a true leap of faith. I found it mind-blowing, indeed, and incredibly hard. Resisting is hard, but Edward is right. The reward is priceless.

From TexanNomad, 3.58 pm: I know that you found peace with this new lifestyle, ConfederatesNeverDie. And I'm truly happy for you. But in all honesty, I don't believe I have such restraint.

From ConfederatesNeverDie, 4.01 pm: Just try, TexanNomad. Maybe you'll be amazed.

From TexanNomad, 4.02 pm: I've always trusted you, ConfederatesNeverDie. I'll give it a try, someday.

From BlondeVenus1915, 4.07 pm: You won't regret it, TexanNomad. We can learn so much from humans.

From USNomad, 6.27 pm: Well, I've tried. I watched a man from afar, copied his behaviour then came right in front of him. He wasn't too afraid, I was very surprised. But I couldn't resist his scent. I just couldn't.

From EdwardCullen, 6.30 pm: Nobody will judge you, USNomad, and me even less. Resisting is very difficult. But you noticed the difference. He wasn't too afraid, that's what you wrote. So, with time and training, you will be able to interact with humans more and more.

From USNomad, 6.46 pm: Thanks for the support, Edward, but I think I'm just not ready. Someday, perhaps.

From EdwardCullen, 6.49 pm: We have eternity, USNomad. You'll succeed.

From ConfederatesNeverDie, 6.53 pm: The first time is always the hardest. It'll be easier from now on, USNomad. Take it from a vampire still struggling with resisting human blood.

From FashionPixie, 6.55 pm: You're amazing, ConfederatesNeverDie. Never doubt it. And I have the utmost faith in you!
