Hi everyone! Thanks for reading, and a million thanks for traceybuie and fresh-BLOOD-was-drawn-2night for the reviews! You guys rock!
So, who hides behind USNomad? Well, it's Randall ;) He won't appear too much, since he's a true nomad, but he's the least convinced of the lot, for the moment...
Enjoy, and please review!
Volterra, October 8th, 1.36 am
Hi vampires! A lighter topic today! Someone asked me how coexisting with the Volturi – non-vegetarian vampires – was going. Well, to put it mildly, things are tense.
The Volturi, after watching three buses of humans drive away from them thanks to my mate's power, now go hunt away from Volterra. And we are given some animals to feed upon – we aren't authorized to leave the castle. We don't choose them, nor the quantities. And we've had some nasty surprises. I already told you about the sheep. Well, they tried to give us cows, but we refused to drink from them. So the guards sent them away, and cleaned up the mess the animals left afterwards. That was quite funny!
We usually have goats or deer, but one day some guards, wanting to humiliate us, brought us four dogs – labradors. Bella lost her temper then, and lashed out on the guards. I daresay they won't bring us any domesticated animals anytime soon, with the fright she gave them. The dogs had to go, sadly, because they were afraid of us. So Alice gave them to a local association training dogs for blind people. Some good came out of this!
The worst animals we've had so far, apart from the sheep and cows, were pigs. They were huge, so we had lots of blood, but the taste isn't great. We prefer wild animals, it gives them a stronger flavour. We told the Volturi that. Hopefully the quality of our meals will improve!
Ciao!
Edward
From HappyMumofSix, 1.39 am: I want to storm into Volterra and slap those guards who mistreat my children! You need to be properly fed!
From FashionPixie, 1.41 am: Don't worry, HappyMumofSix. Things will get better from now on ;)
From HappyMumofSix, 1.42 am: I hope so, or else!
From DesertJackal, 1.57 am: I daresay I'm fascinated by all those different flavours you describe. A human is a human for me, there's not much difference between them.
From EdwardCullen, 1.59 am: There is, in all honesty. Humans have different flavours too, but more subtle than animals.
From GrizzlyBear1915, 2.02 am: One of the perks of being a vegetarian vampire, DesertJackal! It develops your palate!
From RedCoatsHater, 2.13 am: That's true, I must admit. Unless finding your singer among all the humans, you won't be thrilled by a new blood. But when tasting a different animal... Mmmmh, it can be very enjoyable.
From DesertJackal, 2.16 am: You tempt me, RedCoatsHater. I'll give it a try soon, I think!
From GoldenDoc, 2.18 am: You won't regret it, DesertJackal, I can promise you.
From TexanNomad, 3.45 am: I've just tasted a mountain lion, half by accident. My mate and I startled it during its hunt, and he pounced on us. I killed it, then I told myself that it was a golden opportunity to try.
From GrizzlyBear1915, 3.46 am: Aaaaaaaaaand? You're killing us with the suspense, TexanNomad!
From TexanNomad, 3.48 am: It was good. Better than I expected. It's weird at first, but there is a flavour humans don't have, that's true. My mate tasted it too, and she liked it better than me.
From EdwardCullen, 3.49 am: Will you try again, then?
From TexanNomad, 3.51 am: Most certainly. My mate wants to.
From EdwardCullen, 3.52 am: Awesome, TexanNomad! Congratulations!
From BlondeVenus1915, 3.53 am: When women talk...
From GrizzlyBear1915, 3.54 am: Yeah, yeah, we know. Word is law.
From AlaskanWildfire, 3.57 am: Makes me feel better about being single, all of a sudden!
