Chapter 8: The Dragon Queen

As another scream tore from the blonde, Bickslow jumped to his feet and rushed to her side; his family and Wendy not far behind. Bickslow gently placed Lucy's head in his lap and grabbed the hand that wasn't wrapped around her stomach. Cristoff and Wendy both had their magic ready to help as soon as they got to her.

"It's okay Beautiful. Wendy and Cris got this. You'll be okay."

Bickslow activated his magic and cried as he saw the light from their baby's soul starting to dim.

The guild was silent as they watched their beloved celestial mage writhe in pain, the two healers doing everything they could to help her and save her baby. The Pradesh family stood behind Bickslow, making sure to stay out of the way but keeping close enough they could see what was going on and do anything they could to help and lend support. No one knew what to do though as they watched the tears rolling down Bickslow's face. Everyone knew what that meant but nobody wanted to accept that Lucy's baby was dying.

Lucy let out another scream though this time calling out for someone as well.

"GRAY!"

Gray immediately rushed over, sliding down next to her. When he got there he tried to talk to her but she just grabbed his hand and placed it on her stomach. As he felt the elevated temperatures he knew what she wanted him to do.

"Wendy get on her other side. I'm laying down next to her."

Wendy nodded and paused the flow of her magic momentarily to get resituated next to Cristoff as the lunar slayer looked at them in confusion, though not once did he stop healing Lucy.

Once Gray had laid down, subconsciously stripping in the process, he pulled Lucy into him and wrapped one arm around her stomach as the other rubbed up and down her side. After letting her adjust to the coolness of his body he activated his magic to cool her down faster. He didn't want to send her body into shock but he also didn't want her to lose the baby.

As Gray used his magic to bring down her temperature, Lucy felt the pain lessen, but as she started to become more comfortable she became a little light headed. Looking up to Bickslow she gave him a small smile before passing out.

Several hours later Lucy woke up and saw that she was back in her's and Bix's room. It took her a moment to remember what had happened and realize she must have passed out. Her hand flew to her stomach as fear took over for her baby only moments before the door flew open. Bixlow ran into the room.

"Thanks Mavis you're alright Cosplayer."

"Bixy the baby! What happened to-"

"Shh. Babe you need to calm down. Everything's alright. The baby is fine. It was smart to have Gray come lay with you."

Lucy relaxed and noticed that there were several other people in the room now as well.

"Are you all alright? There were no lasting impacts from Xirenia and her mages were there? Did any of you get hit by any of my team's attacks?"

Bix chuckled at the flabbergasted looks on his family's faces.

"We're fine Lucy. You should worry more about yourself. Only a few hours ago your blood was boiling inside your own body."

"I'm glad you're okay. I'm sorry your first time in Fairy Tail was so hectic though. We'll have to give you a proper welcome to Fairy Tail tomorrow."

Bix chuckled.

"I don't know Cosplayer. Are you sure they can handle a 'proper' Fairy Tail welcome."

Lucy shrugged.

"I guess we'll find out won't we."

Lucy settled back into the pillows, and noticed Cris walk up out of the corner of her eye.

"I'm gonna check on you even though you should be fine. I just want to make sure we didn't miss anything."

Lucy nodded her head.

"Bix, did anyone grab her key?"

"Yeah Erza grabbed it before going after Natsu."

Lucy bolted upright.

"SHIT! Natsu!"

Lucy scrambled out of bed and activated her magic searching for the connection she's had to Natsu since she rewrote his book.

"Shit. Shit. Shit. FUCK!"

Throwing her head back she let her magic burst from her in an almost explosive blast. Nothing happened to her surroundings this time though as she let out her magic like a homing beacon.

Emzadi, being the closest, went to place her hand on Lucy's shoulder to see what was wrong. Lucy caught the movement though and stumbled away.

"Don't touch me. I'll burn you."

"My fire is as hot as the sun. I don't think you can burn me."

"I can. And if you touch me I will."

Lucy looked around the room and stumbled again as she felt the connection grow solid. When she stumbled she almost bumped into Farron though. Lucy's eyes went wide when she noticed how close she had come to touching someone in this state.

She would not harm these people. She needed to get out of here and somewhere she could settle Natsu without hurting anyone.

"Babe I know that look. You're not leaving. Go to the backyard if you must but don't leave. I'll keep them all inside and fill them in but please don't leave."

Lucy turned to see that Bickslow had moved to be standing right behind her. She just looked at him for a moment before nodding her head in agreement with his terms and then spun to walk out the door.

Once Lucy made it outside she completely opened up her magic and donned the one stardress that forced Natsu to listen to her. Even from outside, she could hear the two Pradesh slayers gasp when they realized who she was. She couldn't fault them though, it wasn't every day that you learn your new sister also happens to be the dragon queen.
