The couple laid on their bed with Sokka cuddled by his wife's side, his hand on top of Suki's large bump. She smiled as she felt the baby move. It would be any day now that their first child would be born.

"Soon, little one," Suki coos to her stomach.

"Don't jinx it," Sokka says playfully, kissing Suki's cheek. He yawns and rests his head on the pillow.

Suki rests her head against his, her hand idly running along her bump.

"Truthfully I'm tired of being pregnant," she says with a sigh. "For a few reasons. Mostly because I just want to meet them. Also I feel so fat and sluggish."

"You're not sleeping properly as well. I know it's hard to be comfortable." He rubs her belly. "You're not even born yet and you're a burden on your poor mother," he scolds playfully at her bump.

"Never a burden," Suki says quickly. She looks down at her bump and gives it a gentle pat. "Don't listen to your Daddy. I have been feeling uncomfortable though, little one," she whispers to her stomach.

"Just a little bit longer." He pulls the cover over them.

"Just a bit longer," Suki repeats, snuggling close to him.

They soon fell asleep. Later on in the night Suki woke up her husband.

"Sokka? Sorry to wake you, but I need your help getting up," she says softly.

"Hmm? What?" He sits up slowly rubbing his eyes.

"Help me up," she says. For the past few weeks she wasn't able to get out of bed by herself due to her large stomach.

"Sure," he says with a yawn. He rolls out of bed and with eyes barely open. He took both of her hands and gently eases her up. "There we go."

Suki presses a kiss to his cheek once she's on her feet. "I'll be right back." She waddles over to the bathroom and closes the door. A few moments later there's suddenly a shriek coming from Suki behind the door.

"Sokka!" she cries loudly and urgently.

Sokka opens the door so fast that he might as well have crashed through it. "SUKI? WHAT'S WRONG?"

Suki is bending down with one hand on her stomach and the other clutching onto the sink. Her face is scrunched with discomfort, eyes closed.

Sokka is at her side in an instant, hands wrapped around her back. "Suks? What's wrong sweetie?" he says as calmly as he can while his body is shaking.

Suki grits her teeth before opening her eyes. She breathes in deeply, holds it, then lets it go. She pauses before looking up at Sokka.

"My water broke and I just had my first contraction." Suki clutches her stomach tighter as she gives her husband a small smile. "It's time, Sokka."

Sokka jumps to his feet. "Right. Okay. We planned for this. We're ready. We just need to follow the plan." He pauses. "Oh spirits, I forgot what the plan was."

"Get my bag. Get Katara. Go to the hospital tent," says Suki as calmly as she could manage.

"Oh right." He dashes into the bedroom and within seconds he returns with the bag. "Bag."

Suki smiles a little. She knew this was how Sokka would be. "Okay, lets go wake up your sister."

Luckily the temporary housing they were living in was right next door to newlyweds Aang and Katara.

"KATARA! WAKE UP! KATARA!" Sokka is loudly banging on their door.

The door whips open revealing a very annoyed Katara in a robe. "Sokka, do you know what time it is?" she hisses.

He grabs her hand. "Suki's water broke! We have to go now!" He starts dragging her.

"Sokka! I'm not dressed!"

"There's no time, woman!" Katara water whips him. He stops. "Okay you're right."

"Give me a minute."

Katara stomps back into the house, slamming the door behind her.

Meanwhile Suki is sitting in the couple's living room, breathing through another contraction as she waits for Sokka to return. She looks down at her stomach and rubs it.

"Getting close, little one...I can't wait to meet you. But I'm a bit scared."

The door opens. Katara walks in with her bag. "Hey Suki. So the baby is a little impatient I see."

Suki looks up and immediately feels temporary relief at the sight of her sister in law.

"Oh Katara, I'm so glad you're here." She winces as the contraction continues. "I'm going to need help walking over to the tent," she says through her gritted teeth.

"Don't worry. I let one of the nurses know and she'll be here with a wheelchair." Katara pops open one of her water skins and with a blob of water she uses her healing ability to ease Suki's pain.

Suki lets out a sound of relief, resting her head against the wall with closed eyes. "Thank you," she says gratefully. Her hands continue to rub her stomach as if protecting her child from the pain, though it was only affecting her.

The nurse enters the house followed by Sokka and Aang. "Master Suki, I have a wheelchair for you."

Suki opens her eyes, her contraction ending just in time. Aang and Sokka enter the house and help her into the wheelchair. Once she sits, she grabs onto Sokka's hand tightly as the other continues to rub her stomach.

"Now we'll just nip over to the hospital now," says the nurse sweetly.

The trip was anything but smooth as there were no paved roads and the walk to the hospital tent was over gravel, grass and mud. Suki was grateful that she didn't experience another contraction on their way to the tent. She held onto Sokka's hand tightly the whole time. Once they reached the hospital ten, Suki looked up at her husband with pleading eyes.

"Don't leave me. Please don't leave me," she begs desperately. She had never used this tone before in front of Sokka. She was frightened.

"I'll be right by you-"

Suddenly Suki was whisked away by the staff as they prepped for the work ahead. It was a mirror of that moment on the airship.

Sokka flew into a rage and Aang had to basically tackle him. Katara quickly moved to Suki's side and held her hand.

"Sir you'll be able to join your wife in a few minutes but right now we have to prep the room and make sure we have a sterile environment," says one of the nurses, blocking Sokka from getting to his wife.

Suki is caught off guard by this and quickly turns her head behind her. Fear had suddenly taken over all of her. She watched Aang control Sokka as she called out his name in panic. Before she knew it, he disappeared completely as the staff took her away. Suki gripped onto Katara's hand tightly, tears unknowingly cascading down her face like a waterfall. Katara wiped away her tears. "It's okay Suki. He'll be with you shortly." She kisses her cheek. The nurse approached with a hospital gown. "Can we have some privacy please?"

The nurse hands her the gown and closes the curtain leaving the two alone. "It's going to be alright Suki."

Suki nods a few times as she tries to pull herself together. The faster she changed, the sooner she would be able to see Sokka again. Katara helps her out of her pajamas and into the hospital gown as quickly as she could. Suki's face was flushed from her sudden crying outburst.

Katara brushes away her tears and leads her gently onto the bed. Around Suki the nurses prepared various instruments. A doctor walked in although he looked far from it. He was wearing a robe over pajamas and carrying a tea cup.

"Good evening miss." He placed his cup down before examining Suki and timing her contractions. "Right, okay…good. Okay, everything sounds normal. This little one is going to be a bit stubborn I think. Maybe a while before he or she is ready. The nurses will keep me updated." With a friendly nod he makes his way out, picking up his cup and drinking from it.

Sokka enters the room dressed in a hospital gown. "Doc!" He grabs the doctor, the latter looking annoyed as he almost spilled his tea. "My wife! How is she?"

The doctor points to Suki lying in bed and Sokka rushes over to her.

The doctor looks at Katara. "First time?"

Katara nods. "First time."

The doctor rolls his eyes and leaves the room.

Suki feels immediate relief from just the sight of her husband. Suki opens her arms and Sokka hugs her tightly but carefully. Kisses are soon pressed all over her face, making her smile.

"Don't leave me again," Suki pleads as Sokka finishes his kisses. Leftover tears escape from the corner of her eyes.

"I won't. I promise." He nuzzles her nose.

Suki was given some herbs to help ease the pain. When the time between contractions became shorter and shorter the doctor re-entered, now dressed in scrubs. He pulls a mask over his mouth and nose. "Alright. Let's get this show started." He looks at Sokka. "Sir, are you squeamish?"

"Yes."

"Then best to stand over there. Now Master Katara if you would join me over here." Katara stands next to the doctor, serving as Suki's midwife. "Alright Master Suki, this is a simple process. Just lay your head back and relax the best you can. All you have to do is push when we give the cue."

Suki nods, grabbing onto Sokka's hand as she does as the doctor instructed. She took a deep breath as she placed her head back. Though she was experiencing much fear, a part of her was excited to finally meet her baby. She decided to focus her best on the latter. A strong, sharp contraction came ripping through her at that moment. Suki let out a painful cry, gripping onto Sokka's hand tightly.

"Alright this little one wants out. Let's let it out," says the doctor. "Alright Master Suki, let's start with a push. Doesn't have to be a big one but enough for us to get started."

"Al-Alright," Suki stammers, not sounding like herself. She had never experienced such pain in her entire life before. She pushed as hard as she could, letting out a cry and a sob from the sharp pain. She threw her head back as tears ran down her face.

"Sokka," she whimpers, holding onto his hand tighter. She opens her dark blue eyes up at him, fear reflecting in them.

"It's okay, sweetie. I'm right here," Sokka says as calmly as he could. No doubt Suki had dislocated some of his fingers, but he kept his mouth shut. "You can do this, it's almost done."

"I got you covered Suki." After each push Katara released a wave of energy that relieved Suki of her pain although it was temporary.

Suki's face was tearstained and sweaty as she continued to push. She let out continuous loud cries of pain as each push ripped through her like a hot knife. Sokka planted kisses on her cheeks every now and then, holding in his tears and emotions as best he could.

"I see a head!" Katara says excitedly. She bends another healing wave of water over Suki's body. "You're so close, Suki!"

"We need three, only three, big pushes and we'll be over the finish line. Ready?" asks the doctor.

Suki can't find her voice to speak, only nodding. She closes her eyes, bites down on her lip as she pushes. That was one. She could hear Katara and the doctor praising her in the background. Suki braces through the pain, letting out a pitiful cry as she pushes again. Two. She pants, so close to the finish line but wanting nothing more than to give up. Her body had never felt this much pain before.

Suki looks up at Sokka with teary eyes. "I can't do it," she weeps, her lips trembling.

Sokka gives her a big kiss to her temple. He was holding back his own set of tears. "Yes you can. One more. On the count of three. Ready?"

Suki nods, gripping onto his hand as tightly as she possibly could. Suki prepares herself as Sokka began to count. Just one more push and the pain would be over. Just one more and she and Sokka would finally meet their baby. As "Three!" rolled off Sokka's tongue, Suki closed her eyes and gave her hardest push yet. She let out her loudest cry, the sharp pain rocking her entire being. She threw her head back against the pillow behind her as sudden temporary relief washed over her. Her eyes opened when she heard a different cry then fill the room.

Suki picks her head up exhaustively as she stares at the scene in front of her. Her heart immediately melted at the sight of the doctor holding up her newborn.

"Congratulations. It's a girl," announces the doctor.

A huge smile lights up Suki's face despite the tired dark circles under her eyes. She keeps Sokka's hand clutched in hers as she stares at the baby. Suki wasn't able to get a good look as the newborn shimmed in evidence of birth.

"A...a girl?" Suki croaks. There was excitement in her weak voice.

"A girl," confirms Katara who is using her healing ability to ease Suki's pain.

"We just have to clean her up and you can hold her to your heart's content," says one of the nurses.

"You know this is the first childbirth I've overseen here in Republic City. I think we may be looking at born resident #1," says the doctor.

Suki was only partly paying attention to the words of the staff as she stared at her daughter. The newborn was still letting out cries as the nurses cleaned her. Soon Suki was able to get a better look enough to see her daughter had Sokka's skin tone.

The nurse hands the child to Katara who in turn hands it to Suki, a big smile on her face. "Here she is."

Suki lets go of Sokka's hand and carefully takes the baby from Katara. As soon as she held her daughter, a feeling of love washed over Suki. She had never experienced this type of emotion before, not even with Sokka, which she never thought would ever be possible. Tears began to well up in Suki's eyes as she looked down at her newborn. She knew she loved this little one for nine months now but seeing her for the first time was different.

"Hello, my sweet Atka," Suki says with emotion to her child.

She looked up at Sokka as tears ran down her cheeks slowly. Her love for him suddenly grew more, she could feel it.

Sokka was full of emotion. "I'm not crying," he says although tears began to glisten in his blue eyes.

Aang claps him on the back. "Congrats buddy."

Suki gives him a soft smile. She turns her attention back to her daughter, who ceased her crying and had her eyes closed tightly shut. It was at that moment Suki noticed Atka had a dark auburn tuft on the top of her head.

"She's beautiful," Suki coos, her heart swelling with more love.

"She is," says Sokka. He very gingerly caresses the newborn's cheek with his finger. "Atka."

"I might not ever let her go." Suki leans down slightly to give her daughter's forehead a kiss. The newborn scrunches her face and lets out a tiny noise. The sound melts Suki's heart.

Sokka gives Suki's cheek a kiss. "You'll need to get some sleep. I can't imagine how exhausted you must be."

"I don't want to," Suki says, though her voice was tired. "I waited and waited for her to come and now she's finally here." She looked up at Sokka just as he finished kissing her cheek, catching his lips with hers for a gentle kiss. Sokka kisses her back just as softly, his heart swelled up with pure joy.

"Well I know someone who needs to go to bed," says Aang. Katara had fallen asleep in a chair by the bedside. Aang carefully scoops her up into his arms and leaves the tent.

"You should do the same," says Sokka, "Trust me, she's not going anywhere."

"Just a little bit longer," says Suki softly. "We still need to count her fingers and toes."

"Alright, alright."

As the doctor leaves Sokka notices a tattoo on his arm that depicts two dragons forming a heart. He had been around long enough to know that signified a combat medic. He thought to himself how much had changed since the war ended and what a new world Atka had been born into.

After playfully counting, Suki lets out a yawn that she had been suppressing. Atka was fast asleep in her mother's arms. Suki ran her thumb along the baby's cheek idly.

"Mommy loves you so much, Atka," she whispers, pressing another kiss to her daughter's forehead. "My beautiful girl." Suki let out another yawn.

Sokka sits by her side. "Get some sleep. I'll look after her."

Suki finally agrees. "Don't let me sleep for too long. Ready to hold her now?"

Suki carefully places Atka in the new father's arms, showing him how to correctly hold her. "There we go."

"Hey there," Sokka says very softly, the same emotion Suki felt about their child overcoming him. "Hi...Atka." He starts tearing up again. "Little Attie."

Suki smiles as she snuggles against him. "I like that. Attie. A pretty nickname."

Sokka pulls the covers over her and gives her a big kiss. "It is. Now go to sleep."

Suki sleepily kisses him back before succumbing to sleep in mere seconds. She knew Atka would be safe with Sokka.

Sokka makes sure Atka is snuggled in her blanket. He has to keep reminding himself that this is his daughter. He still couldn't quite believe he was finally a real father.

"My Atka," he says in a whisper. "I'm your Daddy and I love you very much."

Suki was soon passed out completely next to Sokka. Atka's eyes opened, looking up at her father. She made a few soft noises as she did so.

Sokka nudges Suki. "Suki, she's making a noise. I think it's a good noise."

Suki opens her eyes halfway. "Wha—what's happening?" she says sleepily.

"Her eyes are open and she's making noises."

Suki opens her eyes fully as she sat up slightly against Sokka. She looks down at her newborn with a soft, sleepy smile. Atka's dark eyes stare up at her parents, smacking her tiny lips together.

"Hello there," Sokka says softly. He gently takes her hand between his fingers

Suki took a mental snapshot of this father and daughter moment. She had never seen Sokka have such a loving look in his eye before. The moment quickly passed however as Atka began to gradually let out cries.

"Uh-oh. What did I do?" asked Sokka with concern rising in his voice.

Worry washes over Suki. Parental panic was now starting between the two.

"Maybe she's hungry?" she says, trying to hide the panic in her voice. "Here, let me hold her, sweetie."

Sokka gingerly hands her to Suki as if he was handling the world's most expensive vase. A nurse comes over to aid Suki. After a few trial and error attempts, Suki finally is able to feed Atka. The newborn immediately calms down and falls back asleep once she's fed. Suki closes her eyes and yawns as she swaddles Atka in her arms.

"Lucky guess I suppose," she says, on the brink of sleep.

Just the look of Suki made Sokka internally swoon. Though she had dark bags under her eyes and sweaty hair, Sokka had never seen her look so naturally beautiful with their child swaddled against her breast.

Sokka leans over to kiss her cheek. "I love you, Kyoshi Girl."

Suki gives him a sleepy smile, eyes opening a little. "I love you, Sokka. I don't think I've ever loved you as much as I do right now." She glances down at the sleeping baby in her arms. "You've given me the most precious gift I could ever receive." She runs her thumb along Atka's squishy cheek. "She's my whole world now."

He chuckles as she leans down to kiss the top of Atka's auburn head. "Hear that, Attie? You've been in this world for about an hour and you already have your mommy and daddy wrapped around your finger. Not bad."

Atka wiggles slightly in her mother's arms, smacking her lips in her sleep. The sight makes both parents' hearts swell with love.

"She's so cute," Suki coos, gently running her fingers along Atka's hair. "I can't wait for everyone to meet her."

"So much to do but," he covers them with a blanket, "now it's time for you two to sleep."

Suki carefully hands Atka to Sokka. "Wake me if Attie starts crying...Attie." Suki smiles at the nickname as she settles into her pillow. "I love her nickname."

Sokka dims the light in the room. "I'm glad. Hopefully she does." He kisses her nose. "Now sleep, my love."

Suki sleeps for a few hours as Sokka cares for the newborn. Eventually he places Atka in a bassinet next to her mother's bed. While his girls slept, Sokka began to write letters to inform their family and friends that Suki had given birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl. A coffee cup is placed in front of him. He looks up expecting it to be one of the nurses. Instead it was Toph, who was currently serving as deputy chief of police and training the department's earthbenders to metal bend.

"Thought you could use this."

"Thanks, Toph."

Toph turns in the direction of the bassinet. "So what is it? Boy? Girl? Ugly?"

"It's a girl, Toph," says Sokka, rolling his eyes a bit. "And she's beautiful."

"Well, I have to take your word for it."

Suki stirs in her sleep and soon wakes up.

"Hi, Toph," she says with a yawn while rubbing her eyes. She looks down at Atka, who was still napping. She picks up her daughter. "Would you like to hold Atka?"

She raises an eyebrow and smiles slightly. "Think that's the best idea? Handing an infant to a blind woman?"

"Sit down and I'll show you how to hold her properly," says Suki with determination.

Toph hesitates for a moment, but then shrugs and has a seat by the hospital cot.

Suki helps Toph settle Atka into her arms. "You're a natural," Suki encourages as Toph holds the infant.

Toph feels Atka's weight. "I feel sorry for Suki for carrying this rock around for months."

"It was worth it," says Suki with a smile. "Who knows Toph, you could be a mother someday."

Toph snorts. "Yeah right. Imagine if my parents found out? They wouldn't let the child go."

"You never know," says Suki. "You and Kanto have been getting pretty close."

"He's simply a colleague," says Toph, a little embarrassed and a little defensive. "In my line of work you have to establish a working professional relationship to do the job properly."

Sokka snorts and Toph threw him a dirty look, although her gaze was slightly off.

"Uh huh. Whatever you say," says Suki, giving her husband a knowing wink.

Atka began to wake and moved in Toph's arms. Suki smiles at this.

"Meet your Auntie Toph, Attie," she coos, reaching over to touch her daughter's cheek.

"Nice folks you got here. Give 'em hell, kid," says Toph with her famous grin.

A nurse shortly enters and places a breakfast tray on Suki's lap. The new mother dug in immediately, not realizing how hungry she was until food was in front of her. Sokka eventually took Atka from Toph and rocks the baby in his chair. Suki smiled at the scene, admiring Sokka talking softly to his daughter as he swaddles her. Toph looked quite miffed that she wasn't offered a cup of coffee.

"Well, I must be off." She gets to her feet. "Republic City might be some buildings, tents and mounds of mud but people still find a way to break the law."

"See ya, Chief," says Sokka, looking up from Atka.

Suki pulls Toph down for a hug. This catches Toph off guard.

"Thanks for coming. It means a lot," says Suki, hugging her tight.

"Well it's a nice way to spend the morning. Not everyday your friends have a baby." Toph hugs her back.

Once Toph leaves and Suki is done eating, she pats down on the space next to her in bed.

"C'mere, you two," she says cutely to Sokka, who still had Atka in his arms.

He walks over and sits down on the bed. Suki snuggles into his side, looking down at her daughter who had her eyes open. Her husband however looks like he was on the brink of sleep.

"I think it's your turn for a nap," she says softly.

"Yeah, definitely. I can't wait till they discharge you so we can go home."

"Me too. I think Attie should be getting a checkup soon." Suki gently runs a finger down the baby's cheek. "I can't believe she got my hair color. I wasn't expecting that but it's beautiful with her skin."

"I'm wondering if she might possess waterbending," he says, looking up at her with a shrug. "It skipped me. Maybe she has it."

"Maybe. Or she might be an earth bender. She's a descendant of Avatar Kyoshi, after all." Suki pauses. "Or maybe she's like us."

"And a future Kyoshi Warrior," he says, imagining his future daughter standing tall in a warrior uniform, practicing with her fans. He already smiled proudly at the vision.

"Only if she wants to be," says Suki, though there's a smile on her face from the mere thought. "I secretly hope so."

"All girls should be attracted to the idea of brandishing swords and punching people in the face...lawfully and in self defense that is."

Suki laughs softly. "I can't wait to learn more about her as she grows." She leans down to kiss Atka's forehead. "My sweet, sweet girl. I'm so in awe of you."

"You might not think so when she wakes you up at four in the morning."

"Oh, hush." Suki cuddles closer to him. "Are you not in awe of her?"

"Well she is quite awe-inspiring," he says with a wink.

Suki suppresses an eye roll and instead opts for a lopsided smile. "Sokka." She kisses his cheek. "You're going to be a great father to our little Attie."

"I hope so," he says with a tired smile. "I really do, Suki. Dad's given me some good advice but my childhood and what Atka's will be are going to be vastly different." He paused. "I wish Mom was here."

Suki frowns slightly, snuggling closer to her husband. She presses a gentle kiss to his cheek. Suki was the only person Sokka confided in about his mother. She was one of few who knew he still took the loss as hard as Katara.

"Kya's watching over us and Atka. I know it to be true," she says softly.

Sokka pulls her close. "Thank you sweetie." He kisses her forehead. "I love you."

"I love you too." Suki looks down at Atka snuggles in Sokka's arms. "And I love you, my little girl."

Atka's gaze shifts wildly around the room, not sure what to focus on. The couple simply watch in excitement, still in disbelief that they were finally parents.

In the following two months Republic City changed dramatically as a lot of red tape cleared the way for additional engineers and equipment to be brought in from the Fire Nation to speed up the process.

Four months after Atka's birth Aang had gotten clearance to convert one of the islands in the bay to a new air temple and Sokka and Suki were touring the new luxury apartments that were being built.

"They call it Art Deco," says the estate agent as they walk into the lobby.

Suki looked around with wonder in her eyes as she carried Atka in her arms.

"This place is beautiful. I've never seen architecture like this before," she says.

"It's the latest craze, ma'am," says the estate agent. "What was laughed at at art school years ago is now the hot new trend." They walked over to a set of doors. "And here we have an elevator. It's a mechanical stairway to the stars! Or at least the 16th floor," he jokes although his chuckle dies down when it doesn't get a laugh. "Well let me take you up to our finest suites."

"This is a nice place," Suki comments quietly to Sokka. Atka played with her mother's necklace pendant to keep herself entertained.

"So this apartment has your standard living room, dining room, kitchen, utility room, study room, extra closet space, two bathrooms and four bedrooms."

Sokka turns to Suki. "Four bedrooms, dear."

"So that means we automatically are going to have two more of these?" Suki hoists Atka up a little in her arms.

"Let's stick with the one for now," he says lightly booping Atka's nose which made her giggle. "So guest rooms for now."

"I couldn't agree more," says Suki as Atka begins to touch her mother's face curiously.

Sokka kisses Atka's head. "I think this will suit our needs but I want to hear your thoughts."

"I agree," says Suki. "I can see us raising our family here."

Sokka turns to the realtor. "We'll take it."

Weeks later Sokka was lying on the bed in the afternoon with Suki, Atka cuddled in her arms. Outside Republic City was taking shape. Roads had been mapped out and paved. The outlines of future buildings stuck from the dirt.

"Things are finally coming along," says Suki in a tired voice.

"I know. It feels nice." He wraps his arms around her and looks down at his new family. "Hopefully by this time next year your dojo will be finished."

"I hope so too."

He rests his head next to hers, breathing in the scent of hair which was back to its bob. "Are you okay handing Atka on your own when I'm at work? We can hire a nanny."

"I'll be fine. I love having her in the makeshift dojo with me. And Katara has offered to watch her."

"I don't want to skirt the responsibility of looking after her by being at the council during the week."

Suki hands Atka over to him, who is wearing an adorable expression. "We signed up for this. We'll make it work, Sokka."

Sokka holds Atka above him. "I'd take you to work, Attie, but you'd be bored to death."

Atka giggles at her father. Suki smiles at the sight. Sokka moves her up and down, each time she is lowered he gives her a kiss.

"I love her so much," says Suki. She presses a kiss to Sokka's cheek. "And I love you. I still can't believe she's here with us."

"She is precious," agrees Sokka. "It's the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our lives." He nods towards the new window. "New home in a new metropolis with a new baby. It's quite something."

"Who knew we'd eventually live such domestic lives," says Suki with a smile pulling at her lips.

"I would've thought Team Avatar would be traveling the world and kicking ass full time. But this seems nice. I would rather sleep in on the weekends rather than fight a giant spirit monster."

"You know, we still need to take Attie to Kyoshi Island," says Suki.

"That we do. Your warriors can go nuts over her." In a high pitched voice he says, "'Oooh sensei she's sooooo cute!'"

Atka giggles at her father with a huge smile taking over her whole face.

"I've gotten many letters asking for us to visit. We'll need to plan a trip soon," says Suki. She runs her fingers through her daughter's auburn hair.

"I have a break in a month. We'll go then." He lets out a yawn and lays by Suki's side. Atka lets out a yawn right after her father. Suki laughs at this.

"I love you both so much."

"I love you both too," he says into the pillow which muffled his voice.

Atka crawls over to her father and touches his hair, trying to get his attention. Sokka lifts and grins at his daughter. He playfully sticks his tongue out at her. The baby giggles as she now touches her father's nose with her tiny hands. She was becoming more curious by the day.

Sokka makes beep beep noises as he nuzzles Atka's face. "You're so cute, sweetie."

Suki snuggles closer to her family and presses kisses to Atka's cheeks. The baby laughs more from her parents' attention.

Sokka smiles. "She's a very giggly baby, isn't she?"

"I wonder where she gets it from?" Suki asks with a matching grin. She gives her husband a wink.

He gives her a smirk. "I can make you giggle when I hit those sweet spots of yours."

Suki covers her daughter's ears. "It's been a while, hasn't it?" she says softly.

"It has indeed. A couple months." He looks at Suki covering Atka's ear. "Suks, Attie is not going to understand what we're talking about."

"She's smarter than she looks, Sokka," says Suki. A smirk appears on her face. "We'll need to plan a little night together."

"I would really like that," he says, kissing her nose. "This little one keeps us so busy."

"Your sister has been wanting to watch her," Suki suggests.

"I say we accept her offer."
