Day 5

Theme: I've Got Red in My Ledger

Prompt(s): Betrayal

A horn blasted across the street and Gordon looked up to find the pink car he was waiting for. He grinned at the sight, and hurried over to it so he didn't have to make her wait. Lady Penelope was just on time, not a minute late.

As he got close to the car, Penelope opened her door on the other side and smiled at him over the top of the car as she got out. Gordon would have questioned how odd it was that Parker hadn't opened it for her, but he was too distracted by her smile.

"Gordon! How lovely to see you. Are you all ready to go?" She said as he reached the car.

"Yeah." Gordon had expected her to come around the car to greet him. Usually, she would give him a hug or even a kiss, but she stayed where she was. "It's good to see you too."

She ducked into the car before Gordon could question it further, and with a shrug, Gordon opened his door and climbed into the car as well. Maybe she was just eager to get their date started.

"So, where are we going anyway?" She had told Gordon it would be a surprise when she had first offered to take him out, and Gordon was getting curious with all the possibilities.

As he asked the question, he closed the door behind him, and then turned to Penelope for her answer.

However, it was no longer Penelope's face in front of him. It was the Hood.

Gordon's eyes widened and before he could think about what was happening, he reached for the handle of the door. But the door was now locked, and didn't budge. A black tinge was covering the windows, blocking the outside world out.

"There's no use trying. You're not getting out."

Gordon glared at the man next to him as he faced him again, but his mind was still spinning with questions.

"How?" It was all he could get out, too overwhelmed by what was happening. The car had already started to move.

"It's not hard to get your hands on a Rolls Royce these days, if you've got the money. A bit of paint, and it could fool anyone who isn't looking too closely."

He smirked, and Gordon cursed himself for not paying closer attention, now noticing the man in the front was not Parker and instead one of the Hood's goons. Gordon had just been too distracted by his excitement for the date, with the woman who he now realised was the Hood using his disguising technology. Gordon's fear turned to anger with the thought that the Hood had used Penelope's face to trick him.

"It isn't fitted with all the same tech, which is a shame, but there are some new additions." The Hood drawled on like Gordon was paying attention, and not panicking about how to get out of this. "Like blocking communications from getting in and out."

Gordon hesitated where he was in the middle of reaching for his comm in his pocket, hoping to use it to call for help. It seemed the Hood had noticed what Gordon had hoped was a subtle movement. It would be hard to get anything past the man in the closed space.

Realising that he wasn't going to get away easily, he tried to at least find out something that could possibly be useful.

"What do you want? Because I doubt you did this just to have an excuse to wear a pantsuit." Gordon glanced at the attire the Hood was wearing, which was similar to something Lady Penelope would wear. It was odd seeing the Hood in something so stylish.

"A price to pay to make it believable." The Hood looked down at his own outfit, before he faced Gordon again. "And I would have thought you'd know the answer to that question by now."

"Oh, yeah." Gordon knew exactly what the Hood wanted. The Thunderbirds, and he was using Gordon for leverage. He just wanted to hear it from the man to confirm it. "It's hard to not know when you've made so many failed attempts already."

Pain hit his cheek as the Hood's fist connected and sent his head to the side. Gordon's hand lifted to his cheek, testing the pain as he slowly moved his jaw. It ached, but wouldn't be worse than a bruise.

"Watch what you say. You're under my control now, and I can make this easy or hard for you. Your choice."

Gordon knew that he should be smart and shut up and try to use this time to come up with a way to escape or find help, but he wasn't just going to accept that he was being kidnapped. He wanted to make this as difficult for them as possible.

"Is one of the choices to shove your face under one of the wheels of this car."

He was expecting the hit that time, but was surprised when it never came. The Hood was just leaning back in his chair, that annoying grin still clear on his face.

"The first one was a warning, but I don't want to have all the fun right now. I'll save that for later."

Gordon tried to swallow the fear down. He didn't want to imagine whatever it was this man classified as 'fun.' He glanced back over to the window, but there was absolutely nothing he could see past the black glass.

He looked around the interior of the car for anything that could help him, but there was nothing. His gaze settled on the man in front of them driving, and without thinking of the possible consequences, he acted.

Gordon leapt forward out of his seat and wrapped his arms around the neck of the goon in front. The car swerved violently, but they didn't crash and Gordon felt them keep moving forward.

With the hand that wasn't on the wheel, the goon tried to unlatch Gordon from him. Gordon felt more arms on him as the Hood tried to intervene, but Gordon wasn't going to let them stop him so easily.

He tried to reach over and grab the wheel. Crashing was better than letting these men take him.

But then he felt a sharp, burning pain in his neck, and he crumbled into the foot space. The car still drove along as his world faded to black.
