All-Star Toon-A-Lympics
Week 1A: Vancouver
"Welcome to the All-Star Toon-A-Lympics! We start things off in magnificent Vancouver, Canada. Then, we will travel to Monte Carlo, the racing capital of the world, where our exciting contest will conclude. Now, back to Vancouver, where the Super Sonics, Dora's Explorers, and the Vicious Villains will compete for the Toon-A-Lympics gold medal! Now for our first event of the day: downhill snowboarding. And covering these events will be Brock and Frankie Stein."
"I'll be honest with you, Frankie, these competitors will do anything to win, won't they?" Brock asked her.
"Knowing the Villains' methods, it certainly is possible." Frankie commented.
"Before we begin today's events, let's review the scoring system. The winning team will receive 25 points, while second place receives 15 points, and third place will receive 10. Now, back to Brock."
"Well, well, it looks like the first event is about to begin. And I see Falco Lombardi about to race for the Super Sonics." Brock announced as his teammates cheered for the Star Fox ace pilot. "Are you sure you can handle a mountain this tall, Falco? If you can't handle the speed, you may not be able to finish the race."
"Hey, if Sonic and Donkey Kong can do it, so can I!" Falco begins his run.
"And down he goes!" Brock announces as the Sonics cheer for Falco.
"And who do we have here? Making his run for Dora's Explorers is Diego Marquez, the team captain's cousin!"
"Yep, and I plan on winning this for my family. Meet you at the finish line!" Diego said as he started his run after Falco. Dora and the rest of her team cheered for Diego. Brock's smile quickly vanished when he saw the next competitor.
"Oh, no! It's the captain of the Vicious Villains, Goldar!" Brock shuddered at the sight of Goldar.
"That's right, pathetic human! And the Villains will be the one who will take home the gold!" Goldar laughed as he starts his run. His teammates cheer on their captain. Muttley wheezily snickers with delight.
"And here's Diego, in an astonishing display of speed and agility. Such a remarkable child he is."
Diego smiles as he makes excellent time, but when he looks behind him, he sees Goldar catching up fast. "Uh-oh!" Diego turned fast to avoid Goldar just as the latter passed him.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the Vicious Villains will unquestionably have the best time and set a world-class record. However, in a bid to dodge Goldar, it looks like Dora's Explorers have slipped and nearly crashed into a tree and might not be able to finish the race. Now, the Villains are catching up to the Sonics team and using their talents to their fullest."
Goldar shows his power by using his sword to slice the front end of Falco's snowboard. Falco leans forward to gain speed and breezes past Goldar.
"Amazing, though his board has become shorter, Falco uses this to gain tremendous speed and take the lead from Goldar. Now, back to you, Frankie."
"Thank you. And now, a word from General Pepper, visiting all the way from Corneria. General, what do you think of Falco's chances of winning the downhill snowboarding race?"
"To be honest, Frankie, I have my doubts, but I believe in Falco and I believe that he will win."
"Thank you, General Pepper. Now, let's look back at the race."
"And the crowd is going wild as Falco Lombardi is speeding toward the finish line, leading with the best time. But wait! Goldar is moving up fast! Even if he could take his chance, it may be too late."
"Yes. Here at the finish, it's…" Frankie announced as she sees that Goldar has crossed the finish line first. "It's Goldar of the Vicious Villains, followed by Sonics' Falco, and finally, Diego."
"And the Vicious Villains lead with 25 points, the Sonics 15 and the Explorers 10."
The members of the Vicious Villains cheered.
"I suspect a bit of foul play, so let's see an instant replay of that victory." Frankie said as they showed a replay of the final seconds of the race. They see that Goldar used his wings to pull Falco behind him just before the pilot crossed the finish line.
"And that's how it happened, which means a change in the scoring. The Villains have been penalized for skullduggery."
Muttley responds to the penalty with his grumbling. "Sazza frazza rashin' fashin' penalty."
"So, it's the Super Sonics' 25 for first, Dora's Explorers 15 for second, and the Vicious Villains get 10 points for third."
The location of the next event is revealed: The Pacific Coliseum.
"The air crackles with impending excitement of our next event, the single freestyle figure skating contest, judged on poise, style, and creativity. Mickey Mouse will be representing the Sonics, team captain Dora for the Explorers, and Marie Kanker for the Villains."
On the ice, Mickey is up first. It looks like he's gaining some momentum.
"And here's our first contestant: Mickey Mouse. It looks like he's picking up some speed for his move."
And Mickey leaps up with a double salchow jump followed by a counterclockwise layback spin. He finishes with an amazing swan stance!
"An amazing double salchow with a layback spin! What style! What creativity! And what a finish to a dazzling display of grace and agility."
Mickey's teammates cheer for him. The Villains respond with boos.
Dora prepares to finish her performance with an amazing axel jump over 15 empty barrels. She picks up some speed to make the jump.
"And picking up speed for her finale is Dora, team captain of the Explorers. A jump like this could win them the event."
What she did not know is that inside the barrel at the far end is Swiper the Fox, intending to sabotage her jump.
"Not if I have anything to say about it." Swiper snickers before rolling the barrel in front of her. Once Dora leaps over the rolling barrel, she lands on it before leaping off it, making Swiper crash. Swiper is seen dazed and surrounded by what remains of the barrel. "Oh man..."
"And wrapping up the event, skating for the Villains, Marie Kanker, who is unveiling a real first, a secret technique she has been keeping under wraps, a move she dubs the Trailer Park Twister spin."
"YAHOO!" Marie yells as the spun so fast she literally took to the air.
"If that isn't a disappearing act worth seeing, I don't know what is." Frankie commented.
"And now, to announce the winner, ice fans." Brock said.
"Based on style, poise, and creativity, the Super Sonics win! And now for an update on the scoring. The Super Sonics: 50, Dora's Explorers: 30, and for leaving the scene of the event, the Vicious Villains: 20."
After that, they make their way to an icy track for the last event of the first half: the 4-person bobsled race. Each of the teams have their representatives – Launchpad, Shoutmon, Donkey Kong, and Diddy Kong for the Sonics; Penelope Pitstop and the Neverland Pirates for the Explorers; and Wario and Team Rocket for the Villains, whose sled has a type of drill on the front.
"It looks like a runaway for the Sonics as we get ready to start the next event: the bobsled race. One of these three teams must traverse the fastest time over the torturous twists and turns of the most mind-boggling course ever devised to test their stamina and sheer will to win of its contestants."
Ready…
GO!
At the signal, with Donkey Kong's immense strength, the Sonics team takes off like a rocket.
"And there go the Sonics! And getting ready for the Explorers, it's Penelope Pitstop and the Neverland Pirates!"
Penelope blows a kiss at the camera. Behind them, Dick Dastardly props a heavy anchor to a tree with Muttley tied to it.
"Alright, Muttley, you know what to do and don't blow it!" Dastardly told his sidekick.
Muttley grumbled as he tied the other end of the rope to the Explorers' sled. He snickers with delight.
"Okay, everyone. Ready? Push!" Jake said as all four of them pushed their sled, but it won't move.
"Coconuts! It won't move!" Cubby said. Izzy noticed the tied rope.
"Oh, there's the problem." Izzy spoke before untying the rope from the sled, but when she did, the sled took off without them.
"Oh dear! We better catch it!" Penelope said with her Southern Belle drawl.
"There goes their sled and there they go! Now let's go over to Frankie, standing by with the Villains."
"Tell me, Team Rocket: What are your chances of winning this event?" Frankie asked.
"A solid cinch, dear Frankie." Jessie told her.
"With this rocket-powered sled, we'll be sure to win." James added.
"And if that doesn't work, I don't know what will." Meowth finished.
"Ready… GO!" The Rotten Cores take off onto the course with their rocket-powered sled.
"Wow. Talk about a team that's really fired up to win." Frankie joked.
"And hurtling down the body-wrenching twists and turns of the track, the superb Sonic team is maintaining an incredible pace in a race against time. Meanwhile, the Explorer team is overtaking their runaway sled."
Penelope and the three pirate kids jump onto their sled.
"And they've caught it, still in position to break the record."
The Explorers team cheer them on.
"Jessie, James, time to show them what being rotten is all about!" Meowth said. Jessie activates the mounted drill.
"Why follow the course when you can go straight through?" Jessie smirked as the Rotten Cores' sled drills right through the icy walls of the course.
"Oh boy! If that's not cheating, I don't know what is." Brock commented.
"Hee-hee-heh! Now that's being rotten." Swiper the Fox snickered.
"I really hope Mikey's watching right now." Shoutmon said.
The young pirates try to keep their sled on the course as they wind down the course. "Penelope, take the wheel!"
The Villains continue digging through the ice walls of the track.
"Now, it's the Villains in a race against time, and taking a shortcut to do it."
Cut back to Frankie and General Pepper.
"Hello again, General Pepper. As this contest nears its conclusion, can you tell us if the Villains are going to win?" Frankie asked.
"Knowing those cheaters, their victory may not be certain, but you never know what may happen." General Pepper commented.
"Well spoken, General."
"Thank you, Miss Stein."
"The teams are approaching the finish line. The Sonics have kept up an incredible pace."
Just as they sled closer to the finish, the sled flips, but they land back on the course upside-down and slide over the finish.
"Wait, they've flipped! No, they're still going and are over the finish line in 1 minute and 38 seconds! Back to the race, the Explorer team has lost control. This could be disastrous!"
The team yelps as the sled its two trees, splitting it into three pieces, but it quickly comes back together right before it crosses the finish line.
"Back in the race, the Explorers finish in 1 minute, 34 seconds, bettering the Sonics."
The team cheers for their best time.
"Can the Villains beat that unbelievable time?"
Their drilling sled falls right before the finish, drill tip first. They dig under the finish and emerge on the other side.
"And there they are. The Villains have dropped in from nowhere and appear to have won the race in the fantastic time of 1 minute and 9 seconds!"
"Yeah! That's showing them!" Dr. Eggman smirked.
"Hold on a moment!" Brock interjected. "As you no doubt recall, instead of crossing the finish line, the Villains dug under it! So, because of that, the winners are Dora's Explorers!"
The Explorers cheer for their victory.
"Now back to the scoreboard. The Super Sonics still in the lead with 65 points, Dora's Explorers with 55 points, creeping up after their bobsled victory. And the Vicious Villains are last with 30. So, as we take leave of the stings and narrows of defeat and the exhilaration of the victors, we move to sunny Rio de Janeiro in beautiful Brazil.
