All-Star Toon-A-Lympics

Week 2A: Thailand

"Welcome, once again, to the Toon-A-Lympics Today, we'll take you to glorious Thailand for our first series of events. Then, around the world to the Windy City of Chicago for a different set of events, where our three teams, Dora's Explorers, the Super Sonics, and the Vicious Villains will race to the top of the Willis Tower to conclude today's matches. So now, let's switch to Brock, our on the scene reporter, high above the Ko Phi-Phi Cliffs, for the start of our first event."

Brock is seen looking over a cliff overlooking the Nui Bay. "Brock here to start our first event: cliff diving. From atop these high rocks, our three courageous competitors will jump 600 feet into the bay below." He looks over to a booth of four judges. "Our panel of judges will score upon style. Down at the bay below is Frankie Stein. Hello down there, Frankie!"

"I hear you loud and clear! The object is to land in the safe area, marked by these pool dividers." She shows a map of the venue and shows a blue semicircle facing the cliff. "If you land outside the safe zone, then your team won't be receiving any points. Back to you, Brock."

"Thank you, Frankie. And look at that, up first, for the Super Sonics is Mordecai, warming up for his first dive." Brock sees Mordecai warm up. But while he prepares for the dive, a shot of the cliff shows Muttley rigging a spring-loaded stone with a string and a wood wedge. He snickers. "Now, absolute silence, as Mordecai goes through the pre-dive ritual of a true champion."

Muttley snickers before pulling the string and wedge, releasing the spring and launching Mordecai into the air. He does a massive set of flips without control.

"Whoa!"

"I don't believe it! Mordecai looks to be doing a quintuple triple somersault with a 1080 spin. Difficulty level: 51,283.7! That's never been done before!" Brock said.

Mordecai manages to land in the water, but he landed outside the divider ring. The Super Sonics cheer for Mordecai. "Well, good news is he landed safely in the water. Bad news is he landed just outside the safe zone. He gets no points for his team." Muttley snickers at Mordecai's misfortune.

"It's a bad break for the Sonics and a unanimous 0 from the judges." The crowd is disappointed at the score.

"And now, diving for the Villains team are the three Kanker Sisters, who will be performing a triple-team tandem." Brock reported. Lee, May, and Marie are tied together with a rope.

"Come on, girls, let's jump." Lee told her sisters. The three of them jumped simultaneously.

"Lots of luck, Villains!" Brock wished the jumpers luck. The Kankers start to separate, but Lee uses the rope to pull Marie and May back in time for a triple dive inside the safe zone.

"An impressive dive from the Kankers. They're sure to get a good score." The judges give the sisters a combined score of 27.

"And here's Princess Sofia, getting ready to jump for the Explorers." Brock reports. The next shot shows Sofia and Vivian looking down from the platform.

"That's awfully high." Sofia said.

"I know, but I believe in you, Sofia." Vivian assured her friend. The fans cheer for her, showing their support for the princess of Enchancia. She takes a deep breath.

"Here goes." Sofia said before she jumps. She performs a pro-level dive and lands perfectly in the safe zone.

"A perfect dive, right into the safe zone!" Frankie reports from her position. But for some reason, Sofia isn't surfacing. "But I don't see her. I fear something bad happened to her." To the crowd's surprise and awe, she jumps from the water, revealing a mermaid tail.

"Unbelievable! Not only is Sofia okay, but she's become a mermaid to finish her routine!" Frankie reported. The judges were astounded by the jump and the mermaid reveal, so they give her a perfect score.

"A perfect score for the Explorers! That earns them first place and 25 points. The Villains get second place and get 15 and the Super Sonics finish third and receive 10 points. Now, we'll switch to another location. We bring you the underwater relay race already in progress. It's the final lap." The crowd above the water cheers for the competitors. "As they approach the finish line, Muttley of the Villains and the Explorers' Ladybug are neck and neck." Muttley snickers. "While the Super Sonics' Scrooge McDuck is following closely behind. It's going to be close. It's Muttley and Ladybug. It's Ladybug and Muttley." Muttley snickers again. "Hold on! A school of fish is approaching the course. This could prove tricky." At the finish line, Plankton uses a stop sign to stop the fish in front of the finish line. "The traffic controller is stopping the school right in front of Ladybug's lead!" Seeing the fish, Ladybug is forced to make a stop, giving Muttley the lead and the victory. "The Villains win!" The Villains cheer for Muttley.

"I smell something fishy, and it's not the school." Ladybug argued.

"Protest! Protest! I call for a protest!" Scrooge calls for a protest. "Plankton used illegal use of the hands!"

"You heard McDuck, ladies and gentlemen! A protest has been made." Brock reported. "Let's see it on the replay, provided by our special camera." A replay of the final seconds shows Plankton stopping the school in front of Ladybug, allowing Muttley, who is being pulled with a piano wire by a cloaked submarine piloted by Dick Dastardly, to cross the finish line. "Would you look at that! It's a double foul! Illegal use of hand signals and a piano wire tow! They must have their master's in villainy. Let's get a ruling from our guest referee." Mr. Grouper surfaces, wearing a referee shirt.

"I declare foul play. Villains in third." Mr. Grouper declares that the Villains are disqualified.

"So, it's Explorers: 25, Sonics: 15, Villains: 10. And there you have it! The Explorers are in first place with 50 points! Now down to the marina, where Brock is standing by for the start of the speed boat race." The crowd cheers for the three teams. We get shot of all three shells. The Sonics are represented by Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby. The Explorers are represented by Penelope, Ryder, Molly, and Gil. The Villains team are represented by Dr. Eggman, Mojo Jojo, Bowser and Bowser Jr.

"Brock here. As the boats are in the gate, the starting bell is close to ringing. Huey, what are your chances of winning the race?" Brock asked Huey of the Sonics.

"Nothing to it. We ducks are right at home in the water." Huey said to Brock.

"How about you, Ms. Vanderquack?" Brock asked Webby.

"With Scrooge and Donald's nephews helping out with the engine, how can we lose?" Webby smiled.

"Gimme that!" Bowser Jr. swiped the mic from Brock. "It's no contest here! We Villains are going to…" He starts to boast before falling into the water. Bowser quickly pulls his son out.

"The boats are in the starting position. They will race this treacherous course to the finish line." A shot of the course map reveals a lot of twists and turns through a set of buoys. Mr. Grouper rings the start bell. "And they're off!" The Explorers and Villains team take off, but the Sonics are at a standstill. Dewey and Louie are having trouble starting the engine.

"Come on, guys! Come on!" Webby told them.

"Pull, Louie!" Dewey told his green-clad brother.

"I am!" Louie told him.

"This is why I don't trust these boys." Webby sighs.

"The Villains and the Explorers are off to a quick lead while the Sonics boat is still trying to get started." They managed to start the boat, but it takes off like a helicopter. "And there she goes! The Sonics boat seems to be going nowhere." The boat lands back in the water. With the other two teams, the Explorers have passed the Villains team. "The Explorers are ahead, but the Villains are leaning on their horn trying to catch them."

"Out of our way, you little twerps!" Bowser bellowed.

"Yeah, what dad said!" Bowser Jr. agreed with his father.

"With Huey Duck at the rudder, the Sonics are zigging and zagging to catch them." Huey is using pushing the boat from the rear.

"Ugh, the zigging I don't mind." Dewey commented, feeling motion sick.

"Yeah. It's the zagging that I can't stand."

Back to the leading teams, the Villains try to pass, but the Explorers are holding on. "The Villains are trying to pass, but the Explorers are clinging desperately to the lead!"

"That's what you think!" Eggman activates their boat's hovering invention, and they fly right over the Explorers.

"Wheee!" Junior cheered.

"Well, I'll be! I don't know if it's an outboard or an inboard, but I'll tell you this: it's not aboveboard." Brock commented.

"Hold everything. The Sonics appear to have come to a stop!"

"Okay, you two. Let's show them your duck power." Huey told his brothers. Dewey and Louie are pedaling on a tandem bike rigged to power the engine.

"You want duck power? I'll give it to you." Dewey complained.

"Yeah. A quick ka-pow will do the trick!" Louie glared.

"Pedal, boys! Pedal!" Webby commanded them.

"And here come the Explorers. They're making their first move for first place." The Explorers boat is steadily approaching the Villains.

"Wrong again! Where there's Dr. E, there's smoke for Penelope!" Dr. Eggman activates a smokescreen.

"I don't believe it!" Fox McCloud of the Sonics sees the Villains zoom by, releasing the smokescreen. "A smokescreen! Hold it!" Fox starts coughing from the smoke! "I protest! I…" Fox calls for a protest, but the smoke is making him cough.

"Sorry, I couldn't hear you through the smoke, Foxy-boy!" Eggman laughs. The Explorers team is coughing from the veil of smoke. The Villains say their goodbyes as the smokescreen clears.

"Oh dear!" Penelope yelped. They see that they're headed for a cruise ship. "We're headed right for that cruise ship!" The boat zooms into the cruise ship's hull and comes out through the other side.

"As we pass the outer buoys heading for home, it appears the Villains have an insurmountable lead, but whatever happened to the Sonic boat?"

"Guys?" Webby called out, seeing Monstro the whale. "Don't look now, but we're headed for a tunnel." Dewey and Louie look ahead and see the whale.

"Yikes!" The whale swallows the boat whole, competitors and all.

"Talk about an unsettling way to go." Webby commented.

"Yeah, lunch for a whale!" Louie complained.

"I hope this guy has some salt and pepper." Webby shuddered.

"Calm down, everyone. I got the pepper right here." Huey reveals a shaker of black pepper. "And that whale's going to get it." He laughs.

"The other two teams race on. The Villains have the lead, but the Explorers are still coming on strong."

Inside the whale, Huey prepares to get him and his teammates out of the whale. "Here's hoping this works." He shakes a handful and blows it into the whale's blowhole. A mighty sneeze from Monstro jettisons the Sonics out of his belly and onto the course at max speed, just enough to take the lead and the win.

"At the finish, it's the Villa… It's the Sonics first, the Villains second, and the Explorers third!" The Super Sonics cheer for that victory, giving them the points they need to take second. "It's still anyone's game. The Explorers are in first with 60. An unbelievable finish by the Sonics! And as we say farewell to sunny Thailand, stay tuned for more Toon-A-Lympics, coming up later from the Windy City of Chicago."

An unorthodox, yet impressive finish by the Sonics. And how'd you like Sofia's dive routine? Let me know what you think in the reviews. Excelsior!
